Transcript
00:00Tuesday night you went over to 7-D and you were there with some federal officials.
00:04I've been told by sources that are familiar with the conversation in the room
00:08that when it was opened up for questions that one police officer said,
00:12what happens after day 30?
00:13And that there was a federal official, and I'm not sure who it was,
00:16who said, we're not going anywhere and we have a four-year contract.
00:20Were you in the room? Did you hear that statement?
00:22And what's your reaction to it?
00:24I think it doesn't mean anything.
00:25I don't know what that means, so I can't comment on it.
00:31These are the facts.
00:34The federal emergency ends in 30 days.
00:39It can only be extended by the Congress.
00:43And if the commitment from the federal government
00:46is to have federal support or officers that assist NPD,
00:53that's a different conversation.
00:55And then I understand you're opening the Joint Information Office Task Force tomorrow,
01:02Joint Information Center tomorrow?
01:03Oh.
01:04Tomorrow? Is that right?
01:06Well, that's kind of an inside government thing.
01:09But it's supposed to help us, though, isn't it?
01:11It is supposed to help us help you.
01:13But what it is, it's just a way of us organizing our comms officials.
01:19We already are doing that, but it puts a little structure around it.
01:25So all of our comms officials across the government are pitching in.
01:28Yeah.
