00:00Hello, it's Martin Dempster, the Scotsman Golf Correspondent here, coming to you from the Belfry, one of the iconic venues in European golf, host of four Ryder Cup matches, including the 1985 match that saw Sam Tornes produce one of the great moments in the biennial bout.
00:30As he hold the winning putt on the 18th green on the Brabazon course and of course raised his arms in celebration.
00:38The Sutton Coldfield venue now hosts the Betfred British Masters, hosted by Sir Nick Faldo.
00:46It's the final event in a year-long qualifying battle for Europe's Ryder Cup team.
00:54Only Dane Rasmus Hojard can climb into one of the six automatic spots up for grabs in the team at Bethpage Black next month.
01:06The Dane needs to finish just inside the top 30 to deny Shane Lowry one of those automatic spots.
01:16However, Luke Donald, the European captain, has six picks on top of those automatic berths.
01:26It really does seem as though probably only one is up for grabs.
01:32The likes of John Ram, Ludwig Eberg, Victor Hovland, Matthew Fitzpatrick and Sepp Stracca seem to be strong contenders for captain's picks.
01:44However, Donald insisted that a number of players can still get in the mix for that eagerly anticipated match against the Americans.
01:56The likes of the Englishman, Marco Penge, a two-time winner on the DP World Tour this season.
02:03And another Englishman, Harry Hall, he's not playing here.
02:07He's in action in the Tour Championship on the PGA Tour over in Atlanta.
02:13And that means that in addition to playing here and watching here, Donald will be keeping an eye on what's happening across the pond.
02:22Eight Scots in the field here at the Belfry, including Grant Forrest, who won the Nexo Championship at Trump International Golf Links in Aberdeen just under a fortnight ago.
02:36And also amateur Cameron Adam.
02:39He's secured a spot in the field thanks to Faldo having played in Faldo Series events as he was coming through the ranks.
