00:07St Andrews at the end of the Alfred Dunhill Lynx Championship and for the fourth time we had a
00:16Scottish winner Bob McIntyre closed with a 66 on the old course having also shot the same score
00:23at Carnoustie on Thursday Kings Barnes on Friday to finish on 18 under par and that gave the open
00:31man a four-shot win over Tyrell Hatton the defending champion and a three-time winner of this event
00:39McIntyre came here low on energy after helping Europe win the the Ryder Cup in New York he said
00:47he did everything against the book in terms of his diet preparation however once he got into a
00:54share of the lead after the second round then Saturday's play was abandoned meaning the event
01:00was going to be played over 54 holes he went into the third and final round here today with one goal
01:06and that was to join Paul Laurie Stephen Gallagher and Colin Montgomery as Scots to win this event
01:15he started with a birdie also birdie the fourth the sixth and the seventh and from that point on
01:22he wasn't going to be denied he had to wait 90 minutes or so after finishing his round to see
01:28if that total was good enough and in the end it was easily good enough for him to land a fourth
01:36DP World title triumph he's up to sixth in the race to Dubai Rory McIlroy looks uncatchable in that
01:44but Bob will be heading to Abu Dhabi in Dubai in four or five weeks time looking to round off his year
