00:00Hello, it's Martin Dempster, the Scotsman Golf Correspondent here coming to you from Trump
00:06International Golf Links in Aberdeen on the eve of the Nexo Championship, a DP World Tour event
00:14which is the first on the circuit to be held at Donald Trump's venue here north of Aberdeen.
00:23It's been a windy start to the week, the course was closed on Monday afternoon, a storm florist swept across Scotland.
00:34It was still around 50 mile an hour gusts on Tuesday and when I arrived this morning it was still quite breezy,
00:43however as the day has gone on the winds actually turned round to come from the completely opposite direction.
00:51It's not nearly as strong, however on the back of last week's Stay Sure PGA Seniors Championship at the same venue,
01:02just two players finished under par, the cup was 14 over par, some precautionary measures have been taken ahead of the opening round of the 2.75 million event.
01:17Seven tees will be moved up, six of those will go one set forward, while the par 5 18th, the tee there will actually be three sets forward from what had been planned,
01:31however it will still play at 586 yards.
01:3714 Scots in the field, they include KLM Open winner Connor Syme and Callum Hill who won the Joburg Open earlier in the week.
01:47Others include Grant Forrest, Ewan Ferguson, Richie Ramsey, Scott Jameson and there's an appearance as well for Martin Laird, a four time PGA Tour winner.
01:59He's been based in the US for 25 years now and he's making his first appearance on the DP World Tour since 2018.
