After Sunday's run-fest between the Trinbago Knight Riders and St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, cricket fans were primed for more fireworks last night with the defending champions, St. Lucia Kings, up against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons.
But instead of big hits and boundaries, the rain took centre stage as fans were left drenched in disappointment as the party was brought to a premature end as the defending champions had their opener dampened.

00:10Reigning Caribbean Premier League champion St. Lucia Kings were due to bowl off their 2025 campaign against the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons at the Civivian Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua on Sunday night.
00:21Kings coach Darren Sami, new captain David Vesa and the rest of the Kings squad would have been raring to go as they were the last team to see action for the first time in this year's tournament.
00:32The captains were able to take the toss with the match already reduced to a 19 overs per side contest at that point after weather conditions delayed the match by almost an hour.
00:42Falcons captain Imad Wasim won the toss and elected to bowl first given the weather conditions.
00:47However, that was all the action that was possible as the Weather Gods had other ideas with persistent and heavy rainfall forcing the match to be abandoned without a ball being bowled.
00:58The no result leaves the Falcons at the top of the six-team league table with three points from three games while the Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Trinbago Knight Riders are second and third respectively with two points each having won their opening matches.
01:11The St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots are fourth also on two points having already played three games while the Kings have one point and the Barbados Royals prop up the table having lost their opening game.
