00:00St. Lucia Kings winning their maiden Republic Bank CPL crown at the expense of Guyana Amazon
00:05Warriors is now history.
00:07As such, many fans from TNT were pleased with the outcome because of the rivalry between
00:12TKR and the Amazon Warriors.
00:15Here's what St. James had to say.
00:17I said I'm going to enjoy that game because I know St. Lucia is going to beat them.
00:22I know that all year in the main road, so St. Lucia is going to beat the Warriors tonight
00:27but at a certain time of the game, it will kind of...
00:33When them two fellas enter, Jones and Chase, I chase.
00:39My name is Chase.
00:42And Stanton will go back, 6, 6, 4, 6, 4, 4, 4, 6.
00:49Were you against the Guyana Amazon Warriors following what happened during the Barbados
00:54Royals TKR game?
00:55I like the whole thing about that, yeah.
00:58So I didn't want them to win this one at all, you know what I'm saying?
01:01They couldn't have won that one, yeah.
01:03And St. Lucia proved that, yeah.
01:05The final between the St. Lucia Kings and the Guyana Amazon Warriors, which team were
01:09you supporting and why?
01:10The Kings.
01:11And the reason why I support the Kings is because I find it was an unfair game between
01:20the lice come off in Guyana, which is something I didn't like.
01:24That the whole team batting first five overs, I don't think we could have won that game.
01:29I was most supporting St. Lucia to win it, right, and they won, yeah.
01:35Any particular reason?
01:36No, but what they play.
01:37They play a game to win and they play and they win it, so that's about it.
01:42Any particular players that you liked on that team?
01:44Well, a player I like on that team, well, the open play they have, right?
01:55They just fail, that's it, they fail every game, but I don't have anything against that.
02:02But all the rest of the games they play good and they play well, but the last game, they
02:06fail.
02:07That's all about it.
02:08We also met up with some family members and friends of St. Lucia Kings player Mikel Govaya.
02:13Sir, any words of tribute to St. Lucia Kings following their victory, having won their
02:18maiden title?
02:19Yeah, the victory was most celebrated in St. James here for Mikel Govaya, which is my little
02:25brother, and we're proud of him, which was his first time in CPL and his first time going
02:35outside the plate, that type of kicking.
02:37So we're proud of him and everybody tell him we have a full backing and he's the first
02:42of many, with plenty, plenty more to come, so we know we have plenty of talent and we
02:47have plenty more things to come from St. James, most important.
02:50The Sunday final between Guyana Amazon Warriors and St. Lucia Kings at Providence Stadium,
02:56which team were you supporting?
02:57We were supporting St. Lucia Kings right away because of Mikel Govaya, my godson, we were
03:03supporting St. Lucia Kings, the whole of St. James, the whole of Trinidad was supporting
03:08St. Lucia Kings because I know where he comes from, I know the dedication he had to the
03:13game, and we were real proud of him.
03:17Did you have a beef with Guyana Amazon Warriors following what happened?
03:21Yes, of course, of course, the current, the rain, the thunderstorm, obviously, and plus
03:27the curry chicken, and the chicken curry, we always have the war with Guyana.
03:30Just for the record, Govaya played three CPL matches this year for the St. Lucia Kings,
03:35they're now on ETIF's export.
