00:00All right. So I don't think we have to wait any longer here, at least from my intimation here, Jacob, in reporting.
00:07It seems to me that when a report comes out about what a team wants for another player, feels to me like at that point they're willing to move on and setting some sort of barometer in the ether here.
00:18And I do feel like Trey Hendrickson is going to be traded by the Bengals.
00:22I just don't know if it'll be today or tomorrow or the night before the season.
00:26But generally that stuff, Jacob, doesn't come out unless it's real.
00:29Like we're not hearing that with McLaurin and Parsons and some of the other players.
00:34Right. And this has been going on for a long time.
00:36The Trey Hendrickson saga, he's demanded a trade before this offseason.
00:40I believe it was last offseason and they kind of were able to patch things over.
00:44The Bengals kind of went to him and said, hey, you have two years left on your deal anyway.
00:48We're not going to redo it. What are your options here?
00:51So I think that whole situation has just gone on for so long that the Bengals and Hendrickson might finally be realizing like,
00:58hey, we can keep this thing going for one more year or we could just try to cut bait and move on and the Bengals recoup something.
01:05But I mean, let's let's not make any secrets about this.
01:08If Trey Hendrickson is traded by the Bengals, any work that they've done to try to upgrade their defense during the offseason with their early round draft picks
01:17and Schmar Stewart and the two linebackers they drafted is going to be undone because Hendrickson has won the best pass rushers in the NFL.
01:25So, you know, if the Bengals do kind of admit defeat and trade Hendrickson, it's going to be an uncomfortable situation for them
01:33where they're going to be looking at saying, hey, our big goal this offseason was to upgrade the defense.
01:37And yet they won't have that kind of blue chip player on that side of the ball.
01:41So a lot will fall on their new defensive coordinator, Al Golden, to right the ship there.
01:46So, you know, from the Bengals perspective, they've really made a mess of this.
01:50They could have just offered Hendrickson, you know, a market value extension and said, hey, he might decline by the end of it.
01:56But we got to reopen this Super Bowl window with Joe Burrow playing like he is and get our defense back at the level it needs to be.
02:02But instead, now we might be heading towards that trade, which, again, as you mentioned, feels like it's been a long time coming, right?
