00:04of course growing for 346 yards and three touchdowns in the NFC championship game so
00:09certainly living up to the billing as far as needing him to have a big one to win he did and
00:13made no mistakes too it just seems like all the mistakes Jacob may have been made by the teams
00:19that he was on before Seattle the Jets most specifically draft him third overall and look
00:26where he's come since then I mean you could even say the Panthers screwed up too now San Francisco
00:30I don't indict them at all like he was the backup there and so he got the starting gig with the
00:34Vikings but Jacob looking back Jets screwed up Panthers screwed up I would say the Vikings probably
00:42did as well yeah I think you can clearly make a case for that for the Vikings just based off this
00:48year's performance alone now maybe down the road we'll look back and say oh JJ McCarthy developed
00:53into something nice and was able to lead the Vikings too on a title run but given Darnold's
00:58performance this year you have to wonder hey had he been on the Vikings would they be able to have
01:03made the Super Bowl it's hard to say but I think you look further back the Jets obviously did not have
01:08a good time there we had the seeing ghosts moment there which he'll get a chance to avenge in the
01:12Super Bowl against the Patriots which is pretty awesome storyline as you mentioned but I think the
01:17biggest mistake on that list is probably the Panthers because I believe at the end of his time with
01:21the Panthers he had maybe three to five starts and he performed pretty well throughout those
01:26and they sort of just let him go in free agency I forget who they moved on to with their quarterback
01:31but they could have just retained him cheap gave him a year to prove himself as a full-time starter
01:36and they didn't really want to do that so it has been a really interesting journey to watch him kind of
01:41develop and grow with all these different teams but and I'll be honest Craig when the Seahawks signed
01:46Darnold I thought it was going to be a poor fit I thought he was going to struggle because the offensive
01:50line in front of him hadn't been very good but he's really defied what expectations I had for him
01:56and outperformed really what everyone thought he would do so props to him for continuing to develop
02:01and continuing to prove the Jets and the Panthers specifically that they were wrong to get rid of
