00:02You got all those, you know, Fugazi Chiefs stands out there.
00:05Oh, we're going to run the table.
00:06Dude, you're a 500-football team.
00:1012 games into the season, 500-football teams don't run the table.
00:15They don't even get a seat at the table.
00:17And I thought McDuffie, one of their talented defensive backs who spoke this week
00:21about kind of where they're at first time in the Mahomes era that they're in this spot.
00:26You know, 500 on the outside looking in.
00:29I think they're the 10th or 11th seed right now in the AFC.
00:32So they've got a lot of teams to jump.
00:33And they lose the tiebreaker against almost every one of them.
00:37As you see the playoff picture right there.
00:39McDuffie had an interesting point, though.
00:40I'm paraphrasing it, okay?
00:42So I don't want to put words in his mouth.
00:43But essentially what he said, among a lot of things, was we don't react well when they call a penalty against us.
00:51And if they call a penalty, whether we like it or not, we just have to accept it and move on.
00:56And I was so glad, and again, that's not a direct word for a quote, but I love the fact that McDuffie said that, A, he's a great player.
01:03B, he kind of gave you an inside look at what I've been talking about.
01:07And that is, you know, the gilded life that the Chiefs have been living in the Mahomes era where all the big calls have gone in their favor historically.
01:16Which is why you go to seven consecutive AFC championship games, three consecutive Super Bowls, five overall, et cetera, et cetera, right?
01:24Like they've never not been to an AFC championship game since Mahomes became their starting quarterback, which is crazy.
01:31And they deserve a lot of credit for that and the mini dynasty that they were, because they're not anymore.
01:36But when McDuffie says to you, we don't react well when they throw flags against us, just feeds into my narrative for the last three or four years.
01:47And that is, they've never done that to you.
01:50You've always been the benefactor of an outrageous call, a crazy call, a call in the biggest moment of a game that has always gone the Chiefs' way.
02:00This year, it hasn't gone their way.
02:02Now, you can make an argument that they got screwed by the refs in the loss against Dallas on Thanksgiving.
02:08There's a lot of calls against them.
02:09And I'm with you on that.
02:09There's a lot of calls.
02:10The far majority of calls that were questionable went Dallas' way.
02:14Yeah.
02:14And if you want to gripe about that, you know, I got deaf ears because I don't want to hear Chiefs fans complain about officiating.
02:21Right.
02:21Much like for a long time, I don't want to hear Cowboy fans complaining about officiating because they got the calls.
02:27And Brady's Patriots got the calls because that's what happens.
02:30And you've gotten all the calls.
02:32But the fact that McDuffie put words to it just, to me, plays into the fact that for everyone that hates me for keeping the narrative alive, that's the reality.
02:43And the reality you have to come to terms with if you're in Kansas City, which I know I'm repetitive about, but I'm going to say it again.
02:50You have not won a single Super Bowl on merit.
02:54Not one.
02:55And I don't mean that you didn't win a specific Super Bowl game on merit.
02:59I mean the journey to the Super Bowl.
03:02Every Super Bowl that the Chiefs have gone to, I can show you a handful of games, not just one, in which they wouldn't have gotten there without the help of the officials.
03:13And I'm not saying good calls.
03:15Good calls are good calls.
03:16If you commit a holding penalty, it should be called.
03:19If you commit a defensive pass interference, it should be called.
03:23But there have been so many ghost penalties called that have benefited the Kansas City Chiefs.
03:28And now McDuffie's telling you they don't know what to do when that happens.
03:33They're completely unprepared for the referees calling a game evenly or in the other team's favor.
03:39And I love it.
03:41And the fact that McDuffie's acknowledging it, if you're a diehard Chiefs fan, now you've got nothing left to say.
03:48Because one of your best players is telling you we are immature and unprepared when we don't get the calls in our favor.
