00:00Now, back to Stiney and Guru on 95.7 The Game.
00:04All right, time for the crossover, getting Zipper Steinmetz, Guru, Willard, and Dibbs in the house.
00:09And you're right, I was, you know, hoping that you would show up on Saturday, Guru.
00:14But we're going to convene a little later.
00:15But you had a great party without me.
00:17Well, but it would have been better if you were there.
00:19No doubt it would have been, yeah.
00:21But he had a good time, Will and Dibby.
00:22Yeah, it's awesome.
00:23And today's the actual day, so happy birthday.
00:26Appreciate that.
00:27Any secondary plans coming off of the house party?
00:31It's your actual birthday today, so you do get to have a day.
00:35I love Dibbs.
00:36Well, Guru's going to buy me one.
00:37I'm not going to lie, I don't really want to look at alcohol at this point.
00:40Oh, you know, I don't want to put pressure on you.
00:43Oh, no, we're going to have one because you owe me one.
00:45A little hair of the dog.
00:46Yeah, exactly.
00:47But, no, I'm going to...
00:48Wow, I've never heard that.
00:49Two days later, too.
00:51This isn't the day after.
00:53No, it's not.
00:53This is the day after the day after.
00:55Yes, it is.
00:56It's still a little late.
00:57It was in bed by 6 p.m. yesterday.
00:59Okay.
00:59I'm going to make dinner for my brother and his girlfriend, and we're going to hang out
01:04with the dog.
01:05Shouldn't they be making it for you?
01:07Now, that's what people have been telling me, but it's my birthday, so I can do what
01:11I want.
01:11We love you, Jack.
01:12What's on the menu?
01:13I'm going to make some scampi.
01:15Yeah.
01:15Look at my man.
01:17Okay.
01:17Throw a little seafood in there.
01:18Some muscles.
01:19Do what?
01:19Some total shrimp.
01:20Yeah.
01:22Will, can you cook?
01:24I like to think that I can.
01:25No, I can't.
01:26I mean, I know my way around the kitchen.
01:29I know what I'm looking for.
01:30Can you cook?
01:31I'm trying to further my creativity.
01:34Let's put it that way.
01:34How about you, Dibs?
01:35I'm decent.
01:36And Aaron's got some go-tos.
01:39I went from Herocious to actually decent.
01:43And the way I went about it is I used to get those blue apron boxes.
01:47Oh, can you add that one?
01:48Sure, sure.
01:49So you get the blue apron.
01:51Wow.
01:52It comes with instructions.
01:53It comes with instructions.
01:54You get three meals in there.
01:56It comes with instructions, and it walks you through it.
01:58It's like, you know, dice the green onion.
02:00All right.
02:01You've got to Google it.
02:02What is dice as opposed to chop?
02:03Okay.
02:04You dice the green onion.
02:06Important distinction.
02:06You follow the instructions, and you get done.
02:10And then you look at it, and then you look at the picture on the card.
02:12And it's like, that's not bad.
02:13Wow.
02:14I kind of nailed that, you know?
02:15Yeah.
02:16So it taught me certain techniques and certain flavor combos.
02:19And then I married a woman who actually can cook.
02:22All right.
02:23And so I'm back on the shelf.
02:24Yeah.
02:24You're like a quarterback.
02:26You know, you have your number one receiver.
02:27You have your safety blanket.
02:28I'll look at you.
02:29And then sometimes you like to sort of break out and maybe find your two,
02:33your tight ends open on an out route.
02:35It's your second or third read.
02:36But you know where the ball needs to go.
02:38And it takes a while to get there.
02:41Put it this way, though.
02:42I would rather follow the directions when someone gives you a recipe
02:47than follow the directions that come in an Ikea box.
02:51I got you.
02:51Let's put it that way.
02:52I got you.
02:53Like, I find that.
02:54There are no words.
02:55The kitchen is a lot easier for me to navigate than some of the other bedrooms
02:59in the house.
03:00Go ahead and cut that.
03:01That didn't come out the way that I meant it.
03:03You know what I'm saying?
03:05Yeah.
03:06You need me to build some furniture?
03:08I'm like, how about if I'll cook you the middle of the room?
03:11I got you.
03:12Building the furniture.
03:13Yeah.
03:13We had to go to TaskRabbit, which...
03:16TaskRabbit.
03:16Yeah.
03:17I've been using the furniture.
03:18Okay.
03:18What is that?
03:19What TaskRabbit is, you have a task.
03:21It's actually called tapout.com.
03:23It's really...
03:24It's about going to the bullpen, you know?
03:27So you get a piece of furniture, and we got a big dresser for the baby's room three years
03:31ago, and there's no chance that I'm going to put it together.
03:33I don't have those skills.
03:35My wife is nine months pregnant.
03:36She can't do it.
03:37So you go to TaskRabbit, and you put in the tasks that you need, and some of these rabbits
03:43will bid on it.
03:44And, you know, Jim in Concord will say, I'll build that for 50 bucks.
03:48And you go, you're hired.
03:49You've got to be kidding me.
03:51No doubt.
03:52No doubt.
03:52Just puts it together?
03:53Just outsourcing.
03:54That's what it is.
03:55Wow!
03:55That's what this is.
03:56Dude, have you ever put together, like, a backyard trampoline?
04:00Something like that, but I give up.
04:02It's not easy.
04:02It's not easy.
04:04You've got all of those, I mean...
04:06Yeah, springs.
04:06And all those springs, and it takes a lot of elbow grease, and it's just like, at a certain
04:12point, am I going to fight this for two hours, right, and then find out that I did it backwards,
04:19or are we just going to find out if somebody will come over for $78...
04:23There you go.
04:24...and tell me when you're done.
04:25Damn.
04:26And I'm like, yeah, that's how I'm wired, $78.
04:29You've got to at least give it a try, though, first, right?
04:31Turns out you don't.
04:32No.
04:33All you need is a laptop or a phone, and it's done.
04:36Done, yeah.
04:37Wow.
04:37My ex-wife was the Ikea master, and she could put together anything and everything.
04:42Actually, she went to Stiney's one day and put together some chairs for him.
04:45Sounds about right.
04:46Oh, yeah.
04:47Evan and Randy hired your wife.
04:49I don't think he paid her, but she said, I'll come help you.
04:52Hey, Ken, you're taking notes back there.
04:53It's about 10 years.
04:54It might have been 12 years.
04:55We're going way, way, way back, but the one fail was when she got a closet in our bedroom,
05:02and it goes from floor to ceiling, and she assembled it lying down and then tried to stand it up,
05:08but it wouldn't stand up.
05:09Yeah.
05:09She thought that it was too big.
05:11No, the hypotenuse.
05:12Oh.
05:13To swing it all the way up, that long side, it was too long, so she had to disassemble it
05:19and then assemble it standing up, and it actually fit.
05:21Man.
05:21Yeah, the steps are important.
05:23Toss Grabbit is brutal.
05:24That's incredible.
05:25It's not a masculine move.
05:26But I would pay him.
05:26Yeah.
05:27I would have lied and did it.
05:29Well, okay, you're gone.
05:30It'll be ready when you get back.
05:31You're like, honey, look what I did.
05:32Get the credit.
05:33It's not a masculine move, but it might save a fight or two or yourself.
05:38Speaking of chairs, I'm snitching.
05:41Ken came over to Grandy's and Evans for the birthday party, broke a chair.
05:44Yeah, you got to eat this one, buddy.
05:45You got to send him a cash app or something just for the replacement of the chair.
05:49How did he break the chair?
05:49That's the key.
05:50Sittin' in it.
05:51Three letters, S-I-T.
05:52I don't know.
05:53Abundant life.
05:54Was the chair already somewhat fragile?
05:57Well, there was another individual that was in that chair for the majority of the night.
06:02He's trying to play Carter now, but it didn't break on Carter's watch.
06:05You know, it's kind of like Ken's a point guard.
06:08Carter's the power forward.
06:09He's in the low post quite a bit, and then Ken just was kind of the straw that broke the camel's back.
06:15What was the status of the chair before the night began?
06:18Honestly, I've been waiting for someone to break this chair for probably three years.
06:22Oh, you didn't tell me that then, either.
06:23I've had multiple friends come over, speaking to Taskmasters, who have tried to figure out how to reassemble this thing.
06:30You didn't tell me that part.
06:30No one has had any type of success.
06:32Yeah, but I'm still going to make him feel bad for it.
06:34Yeah, you do.
06:34Yeah, he broke the chair.
06:35Absolutely.
06:36He broke the chair.
06:36But he showed up to the party.
06:38That's great.
06:38Yeah, thanks for showing up.
06:41Thanks for playing.
06:41Thanks for coming and breaking a chair.
06:43Jake Moody on line one.
06:44I was going to say, you guys still done with him or what?
06:46I don't know that I was done with him before, but we've been treating him unfair.
06:50Are they?
06:51In what way?
06:53He can't do anything right.
06:54Like, this guy cannot win.
06:55Now we're at the almost, it's like the quarterback that does interceptions.
06:58Well, it was tipped off of Dibbs' hands.
07:01It's not his fault.
07:02The ones that are going in now were crucified.
07:04It barely, it went in.
07:06But where they drafted him is why he's honest.
07:09If you deem ninth or tenth life.
07:11I don't care anymore.
07:12But relax and build him up.
07:13I don't care where anybody was drafted.
07:15To me, you don't get to do that both ways.
07:17So you're done with him.
07:18Well, no.
07:18I'm not saying that.
07:19I'm just saying I'm not going to get freaked out because he was the third rounder the same
07:24way, you know, vice versa with Brock Purdy or Jonathan Kaminga or whatever.
07:29Like, I'm not doing the where they were drafted and therefore just play.
07:34Like, just play.
07:35Like, are you a good kicker?
07:37Like, would you kick the ball straight?
07:39And I don't think that Saturday was a great day.
07:43I think it's wonderful that he hit a 59-yarder at the buzzer.
07:46But you're in a dome.
07:47You already missed one.
07:49You hooked a 26-yarder that would have missed from 27.
07:52That's just reality.
07:54Those are not good kicks.
07:55You rebounded.
07:56But I love the conversation you guys were having.
07:59There's a little bit too much Rudy for me at the end of the game.
08:03Wow.
08:04Speak on it.
08:05What's behind why we're dogpiling a preseason game on some level?
08:12That means that you're either on thin ice.
08:17You either don't have confidence in him and you were, like, kind of surprised.
08:21Or you're knowingly trying to lift someone up who you feel like needs it because things
08:28aren't in a good spot.
08:29And that's not good.
08:30They have a game in two and a half weeks.
08:32They do.
08:33And so, how do y'all feel when he lines up?
08:38Dibs?
08:38How do y'all feel when he lines up?
08:39I feel good.
08:40You do?
08:41Absolutely.
08:42Yeah.
08:42I feel confident, more confident than ever.
08:45And yeah, he snuck one in.
08:46But it's a make-or-miss league.
08:47So he gets the three for that.
08:49He missed a PAT.
08:50He missed a long field goal.
08:52And if you look at 50-plus field goals, I'll have the percentages for you shortly.
08:56But it's no automatic, even for the best of the best.
09:00And the fact that they mobbed him when he walked it off in a preseason game, it's a little
09:05Rudy-ish, yes.
09:07But maybe that's what the kid needs.
09:09And if he is somebody who is struggling with a crisis of confidence, then by all means,
09:14guys, gather around and carry him off the field.
09:17Can we get into that?
09:18And I'll just be as out there in front of everybody as possible.
09:23I was, man, I was about three hours ago, I was on a couch with a therapist.
09:29So this has nothing to do with therapy.
09:31You okay, buddy?
09:32I'm great.
09:34I'm doing awesome.
09:35I'm doing awesome.
09:36I'm a little lighter in the wallet than I was three hours ago.
09:38But it's fine.
09:39My point is, is like, I am pro-therapy.
09:43I think everybody could work on themselves.
09:47No doubt.
09:48But is this how we want it to sound?
09:51Where after games, Jake Moody is taking us through his entire sort of mental journey
09:58of being an NFL kicker.
10:00I just, I'm having a hard time with that inspiring confidence when you go kick footballs for the
10:07San Francisco 49ers.
10:08Okay.
10:09And I want to.
10:10I don't think it feels great.
10:11Evan, if you could be our DJ here, because it's not a lot of sound.
10:15I am a real musician.
10:16I'm with Dibs.
10:17I hear you.
10:18Can you play who Kyle says he talks to and doesn't talk to?
10:21Because if Dibs is right, which I agree, I'm not a ball coach, but I believe what you
10:26said everybody needs.
10:28And for Kyle to say this about his relationship, what I'm deeming from it, it bothers me because
10:33I feel like this is exhibit A of who you need to build up.
10:36But check this out.
10:37Yeah.
10:37Kyle, who'd you text before the game?
10:39No, I don't talk to the guys.
10:41I don't talk to kickers very much.
10:42Josh, just tell him to make it.
10:45Ideas!
10:46Yeah.
10:46If my kicker is on my team, we're going to have a relationship.
10:50Anything you need, chop it up.
10:53But not I don't talk to you.
10:55I mean, what's to say?
10:57Make the kick.
10:58And Jake, thanks.
10:59Coach, I'm playing on that.
11:00But to what Willard talked about, wherever he talked about in his session, you could talk
11:05about how you're doing, what can I do for you, but to be, you know, like, that didn't
11:10sound like he was invited to the party they had last year when Pierce got shot.
11:14I'm sure he's invited, but Kyle's not going to have him sit at his table.
11:18He's the kicker.
11:19And the kicker is...
11:20Part of your team, dibs.
11:21Of course.
11:21Very important part.
11:22He can be.
11:23And he sure was on Saturday when you lock down that preseason victory.
11:27And you get to a spot this year, and if it's that same scenario, and it's a regular season
11:32game, week seven, and he goes out there, and he makes it, Kyle's going to be happy.
11:37If he misses it, Kyle's going to be on the phone calling whoever is out there on the street
11:42and saying, are you free to come in for a trial?
11:44I don't think this is abnormal at all.
11:46I don't think coaches talk to kickers.
11:48And in fact, there are a lot of coaches.
11:50I mean, if you're an offensive guy, you talk to your quarterback.
11:53Are you getting in the weeds with WR3?
11:56Bill Walsh, very famously, wouldn't even get near most of the players.
12:02Wouldn't even get near them.
12:04The great Bill Walsh.
12:05Right?
12:06I don't know if that makes you feel any better, but he didn't...
12:08Like, there was no direct coddling psychology.
12:13Hey, go get there.
12:14He stayed completely away from the players because you have to keep that ability to run your business.
12:23And it's a cutthroat business.
12:24So you can't get too close is what you're saying.
12:26I mean, like, I think if they did get close, Kyle would look at him and be like, better make your kicks.
12:33And if you do get close, it takes years.
12:35And even then, like his relationship with Debo Samuel, it's going to have to come to an end at some point.
12:41You might have to trade him.
12:42You're listening to 95.7 The Gabe KG, MZF, MNH2 on San Francisco and Odyssey Sports Station
12:46and the home of the Golden State Warriors and Valkyries.
12:49Always live on the free Odyssey app.
12:50Coming to you live from the Laughing Monk Studios.
12:52Laughing Monk rightfully brewed in San Francisco.
12:54To me, like, when I, I understand supporting a teammate and the guy is obviously going through a lot and you want to prop him up as much as you can.
13:04But to me, the entire team mobbing him at the fifth yard line, even after an impressive kick, was like an admission of astonishment.
13:14It was, oh my god, I can't believe he made this kick.
13:17As opposed to, attaboy, like, that's Jake Moody.
13:20Jake Moody's going to make that kick ten times out of ten.
13:23And that was the feeling that I was sort of left with and why Daniel Carlson, who's on the other sideline,
13:30yeah, I think he's going to make that kick because he's an all-pro.
13:32But I don't have the same feeling about Jake Moody.
13:35And that's, to me, what I felt like a lot of the guys were kind of telling us without telling us that here's someone we really need,
13:44but we don't have full confidence in, going into the regular season.
13:47I think that's a little unfair.
13:49It's a 59-yarder.
13:51I mean, that was a pretty spectacular season game.
13:54But still, the game doesn't count.
13:56It counts for the players 71 through 90 who aren't going to make this team.
14:00But Jake Moody's got a spot on the roster.
14:01Right, but the other guys who, and think about the way it unfolded,
14:05where Moody ties it with, what, 40 seconds left, and then you get a pick,
14:09and you get another crack, and he makes another one.
14:11So, yeah, you didn't win the Super Bowl, but if you are fill-in-the-blank guy we've never heard of
14:16who won't be on the team in eight days, that's got to be a cool moment.
14:20You won a football game in preseason, but it's something.
14:24I think those 45 seconds, I think what those players were saying was like,
14:28I mean, you held off the pink slip.
14:33But then, Willer, to your point, you made five of six, and you said it wasn't that great of a day.
14:37It wasn't that great of a day.
14:38Like, that's where I'm like, that's why he's where he's at with the fans.
14:42Well, Dibbs knows this.
14:43I'm very much a process over result guy.
14:45Yeah.
14:45So, you hit a bad kick.
14:47It's wonderful that it went through the uprights.
14:49That was a crappy kick.
14:51That's an awful, awful, awful NFL kick.
14:55It's like Steph Curry banking in a three, you know?
14:57And I'm not saying Moody's Curry, but any player where you hoist a three and you bank it in, it's like...
15:02It's a bad kick.
15:03It went in, so yay, but it's a bad kick.
15:06And so I think that that reaction from his teammates was almost like,
15:11yay, we'll see you at practice next week,
15:13because what you just did in this last 45 seconds probably fends off, you know,
15:19a bunch of kickers trying out for us on Monday.
15:23To Evan's point and yours, wouldn't it be something that could vault him into getting his...
15:29Maybe.
15:29...his confidence back?
15:30Maybe, but it's week to week.
15:31And it wasn't a 20-yarder, Evan.
15:33It was a long kick, so...
15:34Jake went to Michigan.
15:35He's smart enough to know that it's like, yeah, it's not going to change my career path.
15:41And these guys mobbing me, it's going to feel really good.
15:43And Kyle Shanahan said he broke them down.
15:45That's giving me PTSD, Willard.
15:48And...
15:48Oh, that's great.
15:49Cheers.
15:50And that's all well and good, but he's still going to have the same problems,
15:55or perhaps successes that he was if he didn't get mobbed at midfield.
15:59And my point is, he's your problem.
16:01He's your kicker that you spent the resources on what you did.
16:04Third round.
16:05Okay.
16:05So with that, I feel like that's helping him, them not say night-night.
16:09I feel like the politics of where they picked him, Will, is still kind of,
16:13you know what, we're going to do this one more time.
16:15And you'd like him to be the kicker.
16:16No doubt about it.
16:17You'd like him to be the kicker.
16:18And to Evan's point earlier, he could miss, and we could be right back where we started.
16:23But it did have feel of the mob dibs of the kid in the high school team that never gets in.
16:28Right.
16:28It's a blowout.
16:29You're looking at him, man.
16:30Makes a bucket.
16:31Yeah.
16:32I went too far.
16:33But then I heard Evan talk about it.
16:36I go, why did, was that kind of sarcasm from his teammates?
16:39Like, you hanging on by a thread.
16:41Yeah, I don't think so.
16:42I think it was just in the moment where they were happy for their teammate.
16:45And whether or not that gives him the nudge of confidence to get over the hump, we'll see.
16:50The bottom line is this, gentlemen.
16:52Last year, from 40 yards and beyond, he was 10 for 20.
16:56That's not going to fly.
16:57That's terrible.
16:57So if you're 50%, and those are the big boy kicks, 40 yards plus, Brandon Aubrey, your
17:03guy, was 28 for 33 on those exact same kicks.
17:08He's got the big leg.
17:09He's got the big confidence.
17:10That guy almost didn't miss all year.
17:13The league average, 84% accuracy.
17:16Moody last year was at 70?
17:1970?
17:20See, he can't have, I told Evan, I don't believe he can have the same year and come back.
17:24Like, that's how he's back this year.
17:26He has the same year.
17:27He's not going to make it to the halfway point.
17:29He won't make it to the bye.
17:31Wow.
17:32Facts.
17:33Yeah.
17:33I mean, and you said they put the draft capital into him.
17:36I don't think that that's why he's still around.
17:38But he's out of chances.
17:40No matter if he was undrafted or first round pick or whatever, this is it for Jake Moody.
17:45Either you kick and you kick well, you're allowed to miss, of course.
17:49But, you know.
17:50It don't sound like it, but I hear you.
17:52Who was my guy that missed the kicks for the Bears and then went on the, like, the Good
17:56Morning America the next day?
17:58Was that Cody Parkey?
18:00Yeah, the double joint, remember?
18:01Is that who that was?
18:01See?
18:02And Cody Parkey, like, he did this whole, like, he missed.
18:06He missed.
18:07And his team got eliminated from the playoffs.
18:09And then he's basically celebrating mental health on national shows the next morning.
18:15And I know for a fact that his teammates are like, excuse me?
18:19So you're going to miss the kick and then you're going to go out in front of America and play
18:24the martyr role while everyone cheers for, hey, let's be nice, even in our lack of success.
18:29And it's like, yeah, I don't want death threats for the guy.
18:32But this is professional sports.
18:35It's a performance-based deal.
18:37And you don't get to go, like, up your name value because you sent all of us home because
18:43you can't make a 29-yard field goal.
18:46Like, they didn't like that.
18:47They did not like that.
18:48And so my point is, is I don't love, like, yes, you're a kicker.
18:54It's a very, very mental sport because you're not even really a football player.
18:59You're just as—
19:00He was last year, and that's why he got hurt.
19:01Yeah, but you come out here, right, three to five times a game, and you kick the ball straight.
19:06Right, that's it.
19:07Nobody wants you to touch anybody.
19:09So it's a very, very mental thing, and I get that.
19:13That's understood.
19:14I don't want everybody talking about that mental journey on talk shows the day after games.
19:20Because then he's kind of hiding behind.
19:21Well, it also is just like it means you're not confident.
19:25It means you're not confident.
19:28Yeah.
19:28We've watched kickers kick ball straight all year and never miss.
19:32Like, never miss.
19:34It just—I don't know, man.
19:36Yeah, no, I did not find that to be a great day.
19:39What did you guys think of Brock Purdy in his first drive?
19:42It's awesome.
19:43I mean, that's what you wanted to see.
19:45You wanted to see one long drive where he could make some throws and a couple incompletes,
19:5013-play drive, and all right, Brock, we'll see you in September.
19:53No touchdown, no dibs.
19:55I know I'm nitpicking, but I'll just, like, get it.
19:57It's an interesting nitpick, and I think it's right to pick that nit, because as we go into
20:02last year, one of their biggest problems was red zone offense.
20:05They got down there a lot, and they couldn't get it in.
20:08So, it's preseason.
20:09I'm just going to file that one way in the back.
20:11No, and I am.
20:13You don't even have Chris.
20:14But him and Pearsall were the bigger story.
20:16There's your story.
20:17I've been hearing about it, but I told Evan I saw it, and I liked it.
20:20And how sustainable is it?
20:23We'll see.
20:24But if I'm Jawan Jennings, I'm like, man, I need to get back quick, fast, in a hurry.
20:29Oh, you're scared.
20:30I already think Ricky Pearsall's their number one.
20:34I just asked Evan.
20:35I've been saying it for four weeks.
20:37Is that a good thing?
20:38Yes.
20:39It's your first-round draft pick.
20:41He has the makeup of a wide receiver one.
20:43Jawan Jennings does not.
20:44He's a very good player.
20:45But he almost was the MVP in the Super Bowl, Jawan Jennings.
20:49Sure.
20:49You can be a great pick.
20:50Do you trust him?
20:51I get what you're saying.
20:53I trust them both.
20:55I trust them both.
20:56But, yeah, Ricky is supposed to be a very good player in this league.
21:00And he looks like it.
21:01This is a first-round draft pick.
21:03And I still don't understand why people are so worried about him taking this big step forward this year.
21:09I think if Jawan had already just been healthy and in camp all year long,
21:13they would still want Ricky Pearsall to take the one role.
21:16He's a first-round draft pick.
21:18It's more about him staying on the field, I think, than his actual talent, though.
21:21That's been his enemy.
21:22He's been hurt, like, his entire career.
21:24But in camps mainly, right?
21:26He was hurt in the camps.
21:27I don't think he got hurt playing actual football.
21:29Showed up hurt.
21:30Yeah.
21:31Well, he got shot.
21:31Showed up hurt.
21:32Then he got shot.
21:33Yeah, once he played last year, he stayed.
21:35Yeah.
21:35Like, in college, though.
21:37I mean, he had trouble staying on the field.
21:38You guys had Hermon, and he was like, you've got to protect him from himself.
21:41I don't know.
21:41What does that mean?
21:43Soft tissue stuff.
21:45That means he works too hard in the offseason.
21:47He's like Christian.
21:48He's like Christian.
21:49Yeah, that's a who's elite.
21:51No.
21:51They're wired the same way, I think.
21:54Christian McCaffrey's been hurt a lot in his NFL career,
21:57and they played very different positions.
21:59But, yeah, I think Pearsall is supposed to be your number one receiver.
22:04And an offense with Jawan Jennings is your number one, to me,
22:07is an offense with a ceiling.
22:08It's just, it's limited.
22:09And, you know, their number one pass catcher is probably going to be their
22:14tight end, but Ricky Pearsall and Brock Purdy's relationship on the field
22:20might be the one that is the most important this season.
22:25You know, we know what he's going to do with Kittle.
22:27Jawan Jennings is the ultimate safety blanket if and when he signs a contract
22:31and gets out on the field.
22:32But Ricky Pearsall and Brock Purdy, to me, it is a question mark,
22:36and I'm optimistic that it's going to be a fruitful one.
22:39But if, I mean, it's, I think their offense is going to be determined by just
22:43how good he is in his sophomore season.
22:46I also think, and I know it's going to take a minute for them to get there,
22:50I think Robinson looks really good.
22:52Oh, man, we just talked about him.
22:53I think that.
22:55How many games, Will?
22:56Is there any way he can avoid it?
22:57Whatever.
22:58It's going to be two or three, probably three.
22:59But I just like, if you're looking at the season as a whole,
23:03let's say that the 49ers get 13, maybe even 14 games of Pearsall, Jennings,
23:12and Robinson, and then you sprinkle in whatever else, you know, young guys,
23:15Cowan, Watkins, whatever.
23:18I'm, and, you know, Iuke will come along at some point.
23:21I'm comfortable with that.
23:23I really am.
23:24I know they're not, they may not be ready week one,
23:26but I'm comfortable with that.
23:28That depends on how often you can have the lead in the fourth quarter,
23:32because as we've seen throughout the Shanahan era,
23:35they don't come from behind very often.
23:38When they enter the game in the fourth quarter,
23:40they enter the fourth quarter trailing.
23:42Brock Purdy has one regular season win,
23:43and by and large, the Shanahan system is not built to really come from behind.
23:48So if you have the lead and you have that receiving core, yeah, I'm with you.
23:52It's more than enough.
23:53No doubt.
23:54Well, appreciate the birthday wishes, boys.
23:56Do you want to cash in that chip in a few minutes?
23:58Oh, yeah.
23:59Yes, sir.
23:59I was just stunned.
24:01Same place, same time.
24:02Tomorrow, we'll get into the Tuesday night West Coast game starting at 8 p.m. in the NBA.
24:08Oh, oh.
24:08Why does that bother me?
24:10The Warriors have three of them.
24:11What the fuck?
24:11Are there three?
24:12I think there's three of them.
24:14Why does it bother you?
24:15You live here.
24:16I'm up, but damn.
24:17You live here.
24:17Six hours.
24:18Can't wait.
24:20I mean, I don't know.
24:22That's a little late for you, boy.
24:24Hey, get dimmed, man.
24:25That's how you win all your money back after your 4 o'clock loss.
24:29Well, there you go.
24:30It's been on Hawaii on Saturday night.
24:32There we go.
24:32That's right.
24:33The rainbows.
24:34You always need a late game.
24:35Can we do one at 11 also?
24:37That's great.
24:38Oh, man.
24:38All right.
24:39Take it easy, boys.
24:39Willard and Dibs coming up next on 95.7 The Game.
24:41Good luck with the scampi.
