00:00Hey, it's Joe Shasky from The Morning Roast, and you're listening to Willard and Dibs.
00:03And you know, as much as I love Willard, I'm more of a Dibs guy.
00:07So if you want to do what I do, go check in on Dibs and say hi to him.
00:10Get in the YouTube chat. Do it right now on 95.7 The Game.
00:14Oh, scoreboard, Willard. Oh, that's going to hurt.
00:16That's hilarious that you didn't catch the sarcasm.
00:20Anyway, 888-957-9570.
00:24Next month is ho-ho-ho.
00:25Exactly. Well, for some people, it's all the time.
00:28But anyway, anyway.
00:30Yeah, that's Shasky, everybody.
00:32That's normally me, and when he does it, it's fun.
00:35But when I make those jokes, he's like, oh!
00:36You better be careful.
00:38It's out of line.
00:38He and Grandy get all up in their feels.
00:41Really, really out of line when you do.
00:42Wait, Grandy?
00:43When I channel my inner Mike Breen?
00:45Don't let Grandy know that Santa Claus isn't real.
00:48He might start crying.
00:48Oh, boy.
00:49I'm so glad you just brought that up.
00:52Can I borrow one?
00:54No, no, no.
00:55You're the child of the show.
00:56Can I borrow one minute?
00:59Oh, you know what?
00:59We shouldn't do this on the air.
01:01Never mind.
01:01No, no, no.
01:02Never mind.
01:03I'm going to ask you guys off the air.
01:03Coming at me?
01:04Okay.
01:04No, no.
01:06Santa, the right age, and there are people on their way to the game so high.
01:10I was the kid that used to sneak into the basement.
01:12My dad would have certain areas locked, and I would try to find all the gifts and then
01:16open them up and then put them back so that I knew exactly what we were getting.
01:20And I'll never forget, I had worked it out to where I could get the second PlayStation
01:24controller because I knew mom and dad only got us the one game that came with the box
01:29and the controller.
01:30It was a shared birthday Christmas gift.
01:33Me and my brother.
01:33Yeah, I know.
01:34It's just...
01:34Did that ever feel like you ruined Christmas if you knew what was already there, though?
01:38No.
01:38No.
01:38It made it even better.
01:39Oh.
01:40Wait till Christmas morning.
01:41Man.
01:42Because he knew what he was getting.
01:43Game day 95.
01:44William Floyd on the cover.
01:45I'll never forget it.
01:46Like, would you go down the street tonight and go into this game if you already knew
01:51the final score?
01:52Well, it's different.
01:53Sports is different.
01:54Why?
01:54Sports is different.
01:55I don't like...
01:56This is going to unfold for us.
01:58I'm the guy that can't wait to give my wife the gift I bought her to show her.
02:02I'm like, look at how awesome this gift is so that she can be disappointed immediately
02:05as opposed to a month from now.
02:07I do.
02:07Makes sense, man.
02:08I know.
02:08We're going to get to the...
02:09I'm still...
02:10I still have kids who are young enough so that I haven't arrived at that spot where you
02:14just take the kids shopping and they pick their gift out and then you take it home and
02:18wrap it.
02:19Hey, Jude.
02:20I'm like, I don't want to do that.
02:22I want to surprise people.
02:24I get it.
02:25For me, Christmas as a kid was not ho, ho, ho.
02:28It was no, no, no.
02:29Yeah, I get that.
02:30You got the one present and you shut the hell up.
02:32And if it wasn't a carton of cigarettes, then you were disappointed.
02:35So my son's going to learn this.
02:37That's why you're Jewish now.
02:38Yeah.
02:38I hate Christmas so much.
02:40Look, the Old Testament and the Jewish Bible are one and the same.
02:43But I would say this.
02:44Big Old Testament guy over here.
02:46Exactly.
02:46My son turned two yesterday.
02:48We have more toys and more gifts than we will ever need.
02:51Ever.
02:52Come to the house.
02:52Come take what you want.
02:53It's all good.
02:54I'm giving them out, actually.
02:56I'm dead serious.
02:56There's too many gifts.
02:57Okay.
02:57When I was a kid, me and my brother shared birthdays and we shared gifts.
03:01And then it was also a birthday and Christmas gift.
03:04I'm dead serious.
03:05Are you guys December?
03:06I'm November 28th.
03:07Okay.
03:08I mean, it'd be different if it was like July.
03:10It's July!
03:10Here you go, kid.
03:11Savor it.
03:12Good luck.
03:12Up in five months, you get nothing.
03:14I know.
03:14It was old school back then.
03:16It totally.
03:16That's great.
03:17Niner breakdown.
03:18That's Joe Shosky, by the way, everybody.
03:19It's what he does.
03:20Hi, Joe.
03:20My mom voided my Christmas gifts.
03:22Yeah.
03:23Voided?
03:23I mean, as a joke.
03:24I got it.
03:25Brandon, I used to joke.
03:26Did she do it in July, though?
03:27He got five presents and then she walked up and said, you know what?
03:30These four, they're voided because you didn't clean your room.
03:33You know, the Niner thing.
03:34Can I just ask you guys?
03:35Please.
03:36Fire away.
03:37You do it on a Friday.
03:38Wait, why does it come out on a Friday at basically five o'clock?
03:42Four o'clock.
03:42Oh, it's four.
03:42Okay.
03:43No, because we're doing our show.
03:44I know.
03:44I was listening.
03:44We're ready for like, ha-ha, you know?
03:46We're doing some baseball talk and stuff.
03:47And we're about to knock it around and do our fun bits that we do.
03:50And all of a sudden, Grandy's like, we got breaking news.
03:53Show over.
03:54Yeah.
03:54Yeah.
03:55No, go ahead.
03:55What's the question?
03:56It's just, I've seen a lot of bizarre things in Ninerland.
03:59Reuben Foster, bizarre.
04:01The whole Nessie, Alden, Kaepernick thing, bizarre.
04:06Yep.
04:06The Crabtree drafted.
04:08Bruce Miller in a motel at Pier 39.
04:11We're going to call it bizarre.
04:12It's criminal.
04:13Also bizarre, though.
04:14Very bizarre.
04:15He beat up a 73-year-old.
04:17Very weird.
04:17I mean, Charles Haley doing God knows what to whoever's vehicle.
04:21Bizarre.
04:21Very bizarre.
04:22There's been so many bizarre things.
04:24This is up there with one of the most insane things I can ever remember from any 49er.
04:30I'm just going 49er.
04:31And specifically the wide.
04:32Because we had weird wide receiver stuff.
04:34Or wide receivers.
04:35But the timing doesn't make any sense.
04:37No.
04:38None of it does.
04:38I saw him at the Broncos joint practice.
04:43He looked more engaged than Trent Williams.
04:46I don't get what has happened, what transpired.
04:49And then their rhetoric for months was, hey, he's coming back.
04:52Hey, he's working out.
04:54No one's seen him.
04:54We hadn't seen him in the suite.
04:56We haven't seen him on TV.
04:57I've seen Fred.
04:58You know, and like, you know these pre-production meetings.
05:00We always get information about who they want to show and who they don't.
05:04We haven't seen him on any of the telecasts.
05:06The whole thing is so weird.
05:07Either he's one of the dumbest athletes of all time saying goodbye to $25 million that was coming to him.
05:15Or he hates everyone's guts and he is banking on himself.
05:19It might be a combination of both.
05:20I think it's both.
05:20Yeah, those things are one and the same to me.
05:24In the sport where everyone fights for every guaranteed dollar.
05:27As did he.
05:29I just don't get it.
05:29I don't get it.
05:30He fought for every dollar.
05:32And then he got every dollar.
05:34And then he got hurt.
05:35And then now we're here.
05:36Well, that's the point.
05:38I mean, how can you do what you did last summer and then do what you did this summer?
05:44Those two things are polar opposites.
05:4669 million guaranteed is not enough.
05:48Right.
05:48I have to have 76.
05:49You're turning down 26 million a year because I'm on raw.
05:52I got 30.
05:53You're dragging everybody through a horrible situation.
05:57The Niners are complicit.
05:58They are guilty.
06:00We could have that conversation too.
06:02Why on earth did you run upstairs and stop a trade of a player that you clearly were so angry with?
06:10Like, it only, it, it, you know what the whole thing looks like, Joe?
06:15The Niners and Brandon both stopped listening to themselves.
06:21That's what I don't understand.
06:22I think they were worried.
06:24Both sides were worried about you winning the divorce and going somewhere else and looking glamorous on IG.
06:29And here's my thing.
06:30Like, when you marry crazy and you've lived with crazy for multiple years, it's on you.
06:35It's on you.
06:36Right?
06:36Like, and so the fact that if he was a rental that they tried to sign, different situation.
06:42You had him in the building for four years.
06:44Year one, COVID year, he had the hamstring injury, flashed a little.
06:47It was COVID.
06:48They were playing in Arizona.
06:49Yeah.
06:49I don't know.
06:50Year two, remember, Trent Shurfield was higher on the depth chart than him.
06:53Oh, my God.
06:54Trent Shurfield.
06:54No, I'm serious.
06:55No, I can't believe you brought that name back.
06:57That was incredible.
06:58I went to training camp.
06:59I think we went, I don't know, six, seven, eight days, however many it was.
07:02He was last in the wide receiver drills.
07:06Last.
07:06And the way it works is, hey, your top two dogs, and then your backups, and then your practice squad players.
07:11And he was last in these training camp drills.
07:14Shurfield was getting on the field in the Detroit game more than he was.
07:18Shurfield caught the first touchdown pass of the year from Trey Lance.
07:23Trey.
07:23Okay, when they subbed in Trey Lance, almost like a la Steve Young getting subbed in for Joe Montana.
07:28Yeah.
07:28Oh, you know.
07:29It was just bizarre.
07:31And then, like, you knew you didn't like him.
07:33The doghouse, that was a thing.
07:35And then, all of a sudden, he had a change of heart.
07:37He did whatever.
07:38But, clearly, he was so bitter about that Super Bowl.
07:40And I get it.
07:41We were all mad.
07:42They didn't win the Super Bowl.
07:43But I think.
07:43He was open on that goal line play.
07:46He was open.
07:47Of course he was.
07:47The whole game plan was Debo, though.
07:49There was 13 targets for Debo.
07:51Debo.
07:51Debo.
07:51And I get him being frustrated.
07:53He wasn't a part of that.
07:54But then, to throw up the deuces.
07:56Say we're never going to play again.
07:57Guys, you had to make a decision on Debo or Ayuk in that off year.
08:01I know we wanted to run it back.
08:03I wanted to run it back.
08:04You couldn't afford two $30 million receivers.
08:08And then, when you draft the wide receiver and you didn't trade the guy, you were going
08:12to lose that year because whatever you traded him for after that wouldn't have helped you
08:17that year.
08:17So, you had to sign him.
08:19Get him ready for camp.
08:20Yep.
08:20They didn't do that.
08:21Like, look.
08:22And Brandon's also loony.
08:24Like, it's not one or the other.
08:25To me, it's all the.
08:26Everyone made a mistake.
08:27It's all of those.
08:27Yes.
08:28I do look at the Parag part of it where he wants to win the deal.
08:31And so, they could have signed him in March for $23 million.
08:33And then, you drag it all the way out.
08:35And then, you sign him for $30 million.
08:36And then, when you sign him for $30 million, we thought that he'd be happy because he got
08:40the bag.
08:41And he kind of was.
08:42And then, he was rusty.
08:44And then, he got hurt.
08:45And now, here we are.
08:45I think part of the whole IUK situation, individually, they had problems with him for whatever reasons.
08:52Reasons.
08:53He's also paying a slight penance because Adebo winning the deal.
08:57Trent winning his deal.
08:59CMC winning his deal.
09:01Nick Bosa winning his deal.
09:02So, I think all of these contract things, with Javon Hargrave being a complete bust in
09:07free agency, I think it finally caught up to IUK and they said, we're not losing this
09:10deal.
09:11And what's ironic is they did lose it.
09:12They did.
09:13And then, he got hurt.
09:14I still believe, even if he didn't get hurt, I still think they were going to try to get
09:18out of this deal.
09:19I don't buy that it's just injury.
09:20Oh, I agree completely.
09:22You agree with me on this?
09:22Yeah, absolutely.
09:23Well, and the fact that it goes back to July is the thing that has me scratching my head.
09:26So, it goes back to July and here we are in November and now it comes out.
09:30So, what happened in July that was so, so bad?
09:34Was it him going up to John Lynch and saying, blank you and blank you and blank you?
09:39Insubordination.
09:39Skipping meetings.
09:40Maybe not doing the rehab that they wanted.
09:42It probably was a number of things, but why between then and now is it now coming out?
09:47How many corporations you worked for, Dibs?
09:49Oh, God.
09:50Like eight?
09:50Two.
09:51I've been fired so many times.
09:52When they don't like you, no, but when they don't like you, they start keeping a log of
09:57everything you do wrong so that they can have track record.
10:01Paper trail.
10:02Exactly.
10:02I don't think this was as dramatic.
10:04This is just my gut.
10:05I don't know.
10:05I don't think that whatever he did in the summer was as dramatic or as insubordinate as
10:12we probably think.
10:13I think what you said, Joe, the Niners regretted this deal the second that they signed it.
10:19Therefore, they're looking opportunistically for a way to get out of it.
10:24And that's bad business.
10:25It is.
10:26It's bad business.
10:26It is, but also it's business.
10:29I know.
10:29And I do look at what Brandon has done here and what the Niners have done is a bad deal
10:36that then you just made it a little bit better by getting out from underneath it.
10:40It's still a terrible deal.
10:42It's a terrible mistake.
10:43But the bottom line is, I think that they were looking for a way to get out of this deal.
10:48And he probably stepped in some mud because he's emotional too.
10:52And he's like, I'm hurt.
10:54I don't need to come to your stupid clam bake.
10:56And the Niners went, oops, guess what?
10:59You are now in breach of contract.
11:01We've voided your future guarantees, and we have a brand new fight again.
11:05Why did Jimmy G start throwing on the baby field?
11:08He was rehabbing the shoulder away from the facility, and they were like, get in here.
11:12Now, they probably also thought Trey sucked.
11:14But they were like, get in here.
11:16We got to look at you.
11:17What's going on?
11:18And then Jimmy hightailed it up there.
11:20Why?
11:21Because he had $18 million coming his way.
11:23I just, the whole thing is so bizarre.
11:25I have a talent tolerance kind of like equation.
11:29If you're T.O., I'll put up with a lot.
11:32Yep.
11:32Right?
11:32I'll put up with a lot.
11:33Draymond Green.
11:34Trent Williams.
11:35Trent Williams.
11:36I'll put up with a lot.
11:37Nick Bosa.
11:37You better be freaking old world, though.
11:40And there better be 28 teams lining up to have your services for me to tolerate that level of whatever it is.
11:46It's just, they handed out money.
11:49Don't forget, Dre Greenlaw also, they gave him money.
11:51He got hurt.
11:52You know, Charverius Ward was complaining about the money.
11:55He didn't get.
11:55He also had personal stuff.
11:57There's so much money talk with this team.
11:59They said goodbye to Eric Armstead because they were ready to calculate Purdy's contract.
12:04Same thing.
12:05They said goodbye to him because the ask was more than what they wanted to pay.
12:09100%.
12:09It's just, it sucks because we should be getting fired up for how we can beat Carolina.
12:14Yep.
12:14And like, I wonder why it came down Friday.
12:17If Pearsall's not back on the field the week before, do they wait until Pearsall gets back out onto the field?
12:22I was surprised that it came out on a Friday.
12:24Or does that have zero correlation?
12:26Well, our first thought was it's a Friday news dump after Kyle has his press conference.
12:31And then it dawned on us two minutes later, he hasn't had his Friday press conference yet because it's a Monday night game.
12:37So it dropped the day before he had a press conference.
12:40I know.
12:40That surprised me a little bit.
12:41You're listening to 95.7 The Game, KGMZ FM and HC1 San Francisco and Odyssey Sports Station and the home of the Golden State Warriors and Valkyries.
12:49It's always live on the free Odyssey app coming to you live from the Laughing Monk Studios.
12:53Monster Monday presented by Merit America.
12:55Visit them at MeritAmerica.org forward slash super.
12:58Willard and Dibbs hanging with Joe Shasky who has stopped by at Laughing Monk Brewery as we get ready for Niners and Panthers tonight.
13:05I think if you're going to describe all of this from both sides maybe in just a couple of sentences, it's kind of like this.
13:13Unfortunately, here, I'll push the envelope for you again.
13:16Okay.
13:16It's kind of like going to an adult club.
13:18Yeah.
13:19And what happens is when you get a little too close and you can see it and smell it and feel it, you make mistakes.
13:28Illegal use of the hands.
13:29And the Niners got that close to the Super Bowl.
13:33Welcome time into the stage.
13:34They got that close to the Super Bowl and they were then for the next handful of months acting in that very inebriated, allured sort of way.
13:47I wanted to run it back too.
13:49Like, I'll be the first to admit it.
13:50Who didn't?
13:51I wanted to run it back too.
13:52Everybody always does.
13:53I know.
13:53And the reality is probably now I've learned a lesson that you can't.
13:57And you need to figure it out.
13:58I think the hard part right now is you watched that game with the Rams last night.
14:02You could have had Stafford.
14:05They won the Super Bowl.
14:06They tried to get Stafford.
14:07I know.
14:08But they won the Super Bowl at home against you in the NFC Championship game.
14:13Moved off a fan favorite in Cooper Cup without any drama and upgraded with Devontae Adams.
14:18And now rebuilt their entire defense through the draft.
14:24All these things happening are just tough pills to swallow.
14:27And then here's the other thing that ticked me off this morning.
14:29And Joe disagreed with me and that's fine.
14:31Now we can have a different point of view.
14:32I don't expect everyone to agree with everything I say.
14:34In fact, I don't want you to.
14:35That would be lunacy.
14:37If you knew you didn't have any money on IU's books for next year, why weren't you more aggressive
14:42to add a player and add payroll for the next year or two?
14:45I heard you say this and I brought it up about an hour ago.
14:48It depends on how confident they were to get out from underneath it.
14:52Okay.
14:52You know, we talked about the deadline and how if they want to get Hendrickson, they want
14:56to make sure they get somebody who they could control next year.
14:59But even if you made this decision in July, were you confident in July that he was not
15:04going to fight it?
15:05That's my thing.
15:05Like, if you knew in July that you wanted to void his deal, in July, did he say, fine,
15:11void away?
15:12Or is this now the news?
15:13Oh, you're saying now he's come up with the conclusion that he's not going to fight it?
15:16Maybe.
15:16Maybe.
15:17That's actually interesting.
15:18I don't know.
15:18That's actually really interesting.
15:19That is the only piece of it because if in July, he's like, fine, void it, then I don't
15:24think that any of this would have played out the way it played out.
15:26I still also, even if they knew right away that we're going to get some more money, I
15:31mean, I wanted them to be more aggressive at the deadline as it was.
15:34But I'm also going to understand to a degree their stance, which was we only want players
15:40that are beyond this year.
15:42I do get, under any circumstances, not pushing a bunch of assets into the middle of the table
15:48just for this year.
15:50Yeah, you don't want to be reckless.
15:50If there's no Fred and there's no Nick, let's be real.
15:54That's my take.
15:55But I want to love more aggression.
15:57Here's my thing.
15:58When you're, at the time, I think they were 6-3, anything can happen, right?
16:03And next year, who knows where Trent is?
16:05Who knows where CMC is?
16:07Who knows where Purdy is?
16:08Like, we just don't know, right?
16:09Maybe Robert Sala gets picked up in the offseason.
16:11You never know, right?
16:12You're stuck with Nick Sorensen 2.0.
16:15You look up at Baker Mayfield, you're like, well, maybe we just write the Bucs off.
16:19Stuff happens.
16:20And my theory now with the NFL is, I'm not saying be reckless, but it's kind of year to
16:26year.
16:27And if you're all in this year and things go awry and you're 3-6, maybe you sell and you
16:31get more draft picks.
16:32If you're 6-3, maybe you're more aggressive than what you were at the beginning of the year.
16:37I don't know.
16:37I just, I'm thinking about, like, tonight.
16:40You have 12 sacks.
16:43It's Bryce Young.
16:44And I'm worried.
16:44The Browns had 10 yesterday.
16:46We have 12 on the year.
16:48Joe, they had 10 yesterday.
16:49I know.
16:49I mean, it's bananas.
16:51We're playing patty cake.
16:53And it's patty cake against patty cake because the Panthers don't sack you either.
16:56But it's interesting what you say about the Rams because I was looking at this.
17:00I think it was Brian Peacock put out a tweet over the weekend about the Niners have made
17:04nine first-round picks and only three are going to be on the field tonight.
17:08The Rams in that same period have made two first-round picks.
17:12Jared Verse.
17:13And he plays.
17:14And Jared Goff.
17:14That's it.
17:15Yeah, I know.
17:15So they've had, in nine years, they've made two first-round picks.
17:19So it's all about approach.
17:19But they got Stafford, won a Super Bowl, got Jalen Ramsey, competed for multiple years.
17:24So it's how you use them.
17:25Everyone gets the same picks, same money.
17:27It's how you want to spend them.
17:28Right.
17:28And the Rams choose to not use them to actually draft people and keep them.
17:32Well, I would say that the one thing that I'm noticing this year, and look, Kyle on game
17:36day is great.
17:37Every coach has flaws and is, oh, that fourth and one, you know, you're going to have those.
17:41He's a great game day coach.
17:43I think they need to have serious conversation about bringing in a talent evaluator to just be
17:48the GM.
17:48I heard you talk about this this morning.
17:50And honestly, I was driving around, and I was like, I can't wait to talk to him about
17:54this this afternoon.
17:55Because Belichick, the GM, didn't Belichick, the coach.
17:57But here's my thought on that.
17:58The way you sort of laid that out made it feel to me like two totally separate entities.
18:06Meaning?
18:07Meaning you want to Kyle to just coach, and then there'll be someone else over here who's
18:11like, here's your players.
18:13We're going to bring them to you like a server at a restaurant.
18:15Here are your players.
18:16And then you have to sit down and sort of eat them and decide whether or not you like
18:21this meal or not.
18:22And I'm thinking it's got to be more collaborative at minimum than that.
18:26I don't mind if they want to bring in more eyes and ears.
18:29I don't mind that at all.
18:31But I don't think if Kyle's going to be your game day guy, and he's going to map everything
18:36out, he's got to have a say into the skill set of the people that they're bringing in.
18:41The proof is in the pudding.
18:42Are they better in the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th round, or the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd?
18:47It's been the late.
18:47If you think Kyle is out there grinding tape on 5th rounders, I doubt that.
18:52I do believe...
18:53I think he's got a lot of say in anybody, especially on the offensive side of the ball.
18:57Look at...
18:58They've nailed undrafted free agency as well, better than anyone.
19:01Yeah.
19:01And I think that's a scout's job, and those guys are going to have more feel on that.
19:06Like Ricky Pearsall.
19:07Ricky Pearsall, you think John Lynch wanted Ricky Pearsall?
19:10Kyle, an undersized slot receiver when you have two other receivers, and you're lining
19:13up to pay one of them $30 million?
19:15Or do you think that was Kyle?
19:16I think that was Kyle.
19:18Yeah.
19:18But I think Brock Purdy was also Kyle.
19:20This last draft was...
19:22So was Trey Lance, it feels like.
19:23Robert Sala got hired, and I think he walked in and said, look, you're going to hire me.
19:27How about you give me the first 5 picks?
19:28I hear that.
19:29But I would argue to them that, look, I do believe you should have final say on certain things.
19:34And if, look, you're split, Kyle, you're the one who's going to be coaching them.
19:37I get that.
19:38The proof is in the pudding.
19:39Forget first-rounders.
19:41How many day one and two, which is the first, second, and third rounds, have they re-signed?
19:47Not a lot.
19:48Deebo.
19:48Fred Warner.
19:49Nick Bosa.
19:50Nick Bosa.
19:51This is nine years.
19:53This is what does you win.
19:54If you're not going to be aggressive and make deals for guys like a Trent Williams who you
19:58use the second and third rounder on, like McCaffrey, second and third rounder on, you've
20:02got to nail some of these picks.
20:04You're not going to bet 1,000.
20:04That's unrealistic, but they're not betting, like, 3.30.
20:08Javon Kinlaw, yeah, and Jalen Hurd, we can go through the whole list.
20:11I mean, look, TDP, whatever.
20:12Ayuk was one of their better picks, which is the irony of the whole thing.
20:15Yep, yep, well, and the receiver thing, here's what I will never, never, just kind of like
20:20looking at the way, I'll never get this.
20:22What's that?
20:23Go to the draft last year, 2024 draft.
20:27There's rumors for weeks that the Niners are shopping a receiver.
20:30And they don't do anything.
20:31So, you've already paid Debo.
20:34He's already, right, he's showing some signs of decline.
20:39Uh-huh.
20:39There's Brandon who needs an extension.
20:43And everybody knows you're shopping one of those two.
20:47Kyle said it's Saturday.
20:49Can't pay two.
20:49And then you also draft one in the first round.
20:55And then your next move is to deal neither of them.
20:59And, in fact, grab one of them who had been a malcontent for months and give him $30 million.
21:05Explain to me, in those four months, how that happened.
21:10I don't know.
21:10That I don't, I do not get.
21:12Contrast that with this.
21:13Contrast that with this.
21:14And, look, the Eagles have a wide receiver problem.
21:16Yep.
21:16That's, they have a quarterback problem, too.
21:19Okay.
21:20Tyree Kill, when they were done with him, Brett Veach was like, hey, we're getting rid of this guy.
21:24We're getting picks.
21:25We need to get cheaper.
21:25We need to get younger.
21:27Andy, I'm paying you $20 million a year for a reason.
21:30We'll have you curate who you want to bring in.
21:32Rasheed Rice later on.
21:34Xavier Worthy.
21:34Which I'm sure Andy was involved in.
21:36That came out of nowhere.
21:38Remember that day when Tyree got in?
21:39Out of nowhere.
21:39Out of nowhere.
21:40They ripped the Band-Aid off.
21:42They got the two first-round picks.
21:43They reset their books.
21:44They did it.
21:45They were decisive.
21:46The biggest problem I have with just the whole thing is I don't know who's decisive.
21:51And they're indecisive on everything that they want to do.
21:54And, like, if you have a number, if Parag, and this is the part, I don't want to hear about Parag.
21:58If Parag has a number and they don't want to go past it, and it's April 20th, which is when that draft was, or April 21st,
22:04and it's draft day and he's not ready to sign it, you should have moved him.
22:07You should have had a hard sell date, and it ended up screwing you.
22:12There's no question.
22:13But I think you also admit, off of that tantalizing Super Bowl loss and 1,300 yards.
22:19I wanted to run it back.
22:20Yeah.
22:21It's hard.
22:21But I also realize, as well, you do have to have your eye on what's coming down the pike.
22:26Always.
22:26Right?
22:26That's their job.
22:27Why do you think Eric Armstead's not on this team?
22:29Because they knew they had to pay Brandon.
22:31They had to pay Purdy.
22:32Sure.
22:32And you have to make hard decisions.
22:34And why is Ufunga not here?
22:36Trey Greenlaw not here.
22:37Like, certain – not everyone can come.
22:39Why did they trade Buckner?
22:41They had to either keep Jimmy and Jimmy Ward and Armstead.
22:45They had a number.
22:46They had a number, and he didn't like it.
22:47And they were decisive.
22:47And as much as –
22:48Aaron Banks and even more, and, you know.
22:50As much as it pissed me off, Jimmy Ward was really good.
22:53And Armstead was too.
22:54And it wasn't the greatest move.
22:55It wasn't the worst.
22:57Enjoy the game.
22:58All right, boys.
22:58I'm going to run.
22:59Great to see you.
22:59Yep, yep.
23:00I'm going to run.
23:01I'm going to run.
23:02I'm going to run.
23:02I'm going to run.
23:03I'm going to run.
23:03I'm going to run.
23:04I'm going to run.
23:04I'm going to run.
23:05I'm going to run.
23:05I'm going to run.
23:05I'm going to run.
23:06I'm going to run.
23:06I'm going to run.
23:07I'm going to run.
23:07I'm going to run.
23:07I'm going to run.
23:08I'm going to run.
23:09I'm going to run.
23:09I'm going to run.
