00:00So, I know what you think, Guru.
00:02I know what you think.
00:04But I just don't know if you're ready for this smoke.
00:06Now, back to Stiney and Guru on 95.7 The Game.
00:11All right, this is the crossover.
00:13Every getting's in for Matt Steinmetz, Dale, the Guru, Johnson, Mark Willard,
00:16and the birthday boy, Dan Dibley in the house.
00:20Happy birthday to you.
00:24Happy birthday to you.
00:27Yeah.
00:28Yeah, thank you, guys.
00:29Happy birthday to you.
00:31Happy birthday.
00:33Yeah.
00:34How do you feel, man?
00:35There's like three different happy birthday songs going on right now.
00:38I feel great.
00:38And, you know, it's indicative of how much I've got going on socially
00:43that I chose to come to work today.
00:45Look at my man.
00:46Look at him.
00:47I was telling my brother, shout out Mikey 2.0, who called me.
00:50I said, if I really had something awesome to do today, I would have done it.
00:53But come to work.
00:55See my kicking with the boys.
00:57Exactly.
00:57This is awesome.
00:57This is always awesome.
00:58Willard, you've got to feel special.
01:00Thank you, Mark.
01:01Where?
01:01In the run.
01:03Easy there, Guru.
01:04I missed them.
01:04No, they're still there.
01:06Okay.
01:06They're hurrying through the crossover.
01:08We can talk for like two minutes if you want to go get one.
01:10No, because Denzel will call me fat.
01:13What's gotten up his?
01:15Did you hear what he said about us?
01:16About who?
01:17Well, sports media people in general.
01:19Oh, yeah.
01:19I heard what he said about Stephen A.
01:21I heard that bit.
01:22Was that part of that appearance?
01:24It was weird because he was on first take two days ago.
01:26We almost got to play it for him.
01:27It ain't long.
01:28Go ahead.
01:29Ken, can you play that, Denzel?
01:31Here we go.
01:32Here we go.
01:32I got it.
01:33All right.
01:33Everybody's got an opinion.
01:35We live in a world of opinion.
01:36The music is killing.
01:37That's what I call opinionaires.
01:38They're all the shows.
01:39A bunch of guys.
01:41A couple of them that have played, but most of them who haven't, who have an opinion about
01:44what something should be when they haven't done it.
01:46Those who can't talk about those who can't.
01:49Those who have know what they're talking about.
01:51Those who haven't don't.
01:52Period.
01:53Too much talking.
01:55Too much talking.
01:56Everybody got an opinion.
01:57Everybody's sitting around getting fat.
02:00You know, thinking they know how to do it.
02:01Just because you can sit behind a desk and chit chat doesn't mean you can do a damn thing.
02:05Those are bars.
02:06Come get up here with me.
02:07Let's find out.
02:08Not bars.
02:09Come get in the gym with me.
02:10Let's find out.
02:11I mean, I don't know you.
02:12We saw your show.
02:13You know, I can throw my hands.
02:15I can do all.
02:16We saw your show.
02:16I can sure do it.
02:17Rolls Royce.
02:18I can do it for real.
02:20I don't talk about it.
02:21Well, let me leave you on this.
02:22I'm not some skinny kid, you know, who never played a day in his life, and now he can get
02:26back at everybody because he got a mic in his face and show.
02:30People need to shut up.
02:32People need to shut up.
02:33Learn how to do something.
02:34Be actually good at something.
02:36Try that.
02:37What's wrong with him?
02:38He's got a new movie out today, but good lord.
02:40Oh, imagine that.
02:41Is he in character?
02:42We've played for you, Dims.
02:44Hollywood actor does a national appearance, and it just happens to be when a movie comes out?
02:48Shout out highest and lowest.
02:50The name of his new film.
02:50What a crazy coincidence.
02:51Well, did you think that's what's going on, right?
02:53I told Evan that.
02:54Do I think that's what's going on?
02:55Like, look at Kanye West's career if you want to know that that's what's going on.
03:01Only to mention Yee.
03:02Contrificial statements only come out with some new album coming out.
03:07I might not even be mad as I thought I was.
03:10But you know what I always say?
03:11First of all, Denzel, like ripping everyone who's not an athlete.
03:14What the hell did you?
03:15Played it for them.
03:16That's not the pros.
03:18Correct.
03:18Shout out Stiney.
03:19So, like, did you do it?
03:20Did you play in the NFL, or did you just act like a coach and remember the Titans?
03:26He was a good one.
03:26Fumble the football?
03:27Dude, that was a great coach.
03:29Yeah, that was a great one.
03:30Here's what I would say, and this is what I always say to people, because there is a point there.
03:36However, when people talk about those who are just talking about it, it makes it sound like anybody who talks about it is therefore entertaining or interesting, and that's not true.
03:48So those who are talking about it are also good at something.
03:52No doubt about it.
03:52They're good at talking about it.
03:54No doubt.
03:55That's all.
03:55Yeah.
03:56That's all.
03:56I agree.
03:56I just found it ironic that the same energy he's talking with is the exact energy he's critiquing.
04:02Very good point.
04:03It's the Michelle Obama.
04:04Very good point.
04:04What she hated, like, you're above that.
04:06You're doing what you say you don't like.
04:08I love Denzel.
04:09I love Denzel.
04:10Yeah.
04:11If I say his best movie, we just went over it.
04:13Mine was Glory.
04:15Glory's great.
04:16I was thinking about it like a Denzel Rushmore, if you had to put it together.
04:20For me, it's training day in the Washington position.
04:23That's what Evan said.
04:24Got him an Oscar.
04:25Yeah.
04:26Glory certainly is up there.
04:27A sneaky one that I love more than 99% of the people on planet Earth is Mo' Betta Blues.
04:33I just, that taught me how to talk to women.
04:36Yeah, that was your playbook.
04:36I was singled in.
04:37He's just, and he's so good in that as the troubled trumpet player, and then he gets
04:43his mouth smashed, and he can't play anymore.
04:45Really sad, but that movie is.
04:46Spike Lee joint.
04:47That was great.
04:47No doubt.
04:48Flight.
04:48Don't sleep on flight.
04:50Why did he confess at the end?
04:53Because that's.
04:53They had him ready.
04:55Because he's Denzel.
04:55Exactly.
04:56That bothered me all the time.
04:57Scruples, man.
04:58It got to him.
04:59He finally decided to just be authentic.
05:01I was drunk.
05:02Oh, no.
05:02I'm drunk right now.
05:04I'm drunk right now.
05:05I'm drunk right now.
05:07Dims might try that line at 530.
05:09It's his birthday.
05:10I got one for you.
05:10It's a ship.
05:11It's my greatest means.
05:11Oh, you said to quit drinking.
05:13I mean, quit's a big word.
05:14Oh.
05:15Quit against bad names.
05:16Right now.
05:17He's walking it back.
05:18I know.
05:19I just, for now.
05:20I mean, right now we're in a period of restraint and reflection.
05:24It's his birthday.
05:24He's allowed to dabble.
05:25Yeah, there's always.
05:26Dims can dabble.
05:27Dibble dabble.
05:28It's always right out of the corner.
05:29Right as you went that way, I went the other way.
05:31I got at least one drink every night this week.
05:33Well, you got new vodka.
05:35You got to represent.
05:36Oh, look at it.
05:36And you're liking it early.
05:37And I used new vodka to make vodka pasta sauce last night.
05:41It's around your summer.
05:42I've never done it before.
05:42Vodka pasta sauce?
05:43Vodka.
05:44Yeah.
05:44You've never heard of vodka sauce?
05:45Really good.
05:46Yeah.
05:46You get a little tomato paste in there.
05:48You get some red pepper flakes.
05:50Right?
05:50You get the, I substituted some Greek yogurt for the heavy cream.
05:54Wow.
05:54But yeah, and there's a little vodka in there.
05:56And then you, you know.
05:57Noted.
05:57Yeah.
05:58You flash burn that stuff out of there so that, like, because I served it
06:01to my kids.
06:02It's not like I got them drunk.
06:03Dad, let me tell you a couple of things.
06:04I love CPS on Live One.
06:07This is so good, Dad.
06:09Like beer can chicken.
06:10I know what it could.
06:11I got sauced now, Dad.
06:13It was good.
06:14Oh, man.
06:14Came out good.
06:15Thank you, new vodka.
06:16Little did he know, he has had a drink before.
06:18I got to tell on E.
06:19We've had a fun show.
06:20We did the rankings on the quarterback, head coach combo.
06:24Number three, I had two guys I've hated on, Sirianni and Hurts.
06:29Is that why you had them so high?
06:31No.
06:31Okay.
06:31They won and been to two.
06:33My man told me, and you guys, I don't know.
06:36Hurts is not a star.
06:38And I just, we've been fighting.
06:40Text lines at my back, so it's the chat.
06:42I don't need them.
06:43Yeah, but who didn't have your back?
06:44A guy who played 17 years, by the way.
06:46The one that counted.
06:47I said almost two decades.
06:48His 18th year, he never made it out of Raider camp.
06:51He got hurt and he got cut.
06:52I don't know if he got cut, but he just didn't play, so I always needled him with that.
06:56Wikipedia's got it wrong.
06:57They got him at 16.
06:57But Evans Robin Hurts because he has so much around him, but I always stole your line.
07:03Where do we draw the line?
07:04He got it right.
07:06How are we going to penalize a guy that played his ass off when I was at your house watching
07:09the Super Bowl, Willer?
07:10They lost.
07:11He fumbled, but he played.
07:12He was one of the best players on there.
07:14So how can Evan Rob Hurts of being a star because he's on a good team?
07:19Well, this always gets tough.
07:20Steph Curry, two rings with Kevin Durant.
07:22How do we define star?
07:26I always get stuck in these conversations.
07:30Like he's a celebrity.
07:32He's a very important player in this league.
07:35How do we define star?
07:35He's a Super Bowl winning quarterback.
07:39Sure, he's a star.
07:42But is he one of the best QBs in the league?
07:44I didn't have a top five, top six, top ten.
07:46He's top half.
07:48He's top, like, so I don't know.
07:51But that doesn't make you sports angry, huh?
07:53How do you define star?
07:56That's Evan.
07:56How do you define star?
07:57I mean, to me, you've got to be one of the four or five best guys in the league.
08:01Okay.
08:01And to me, you know, I'm just starting with Mahomes, Burrow, Allen, and Lamar.
08:05And to me, after that, it's kind of whoever you like.
08:09But I guess my question is, okay, so then if Jalen Hurts is a star, who else is a star?
08:15You know, is Matt Stafford a star?
08:18I believe he is.
08:20Is Dak Prescott a star?
08:21No.
08:22Well, he wears one.
08:23To me, he's not.
08:23I like that.
08:25He was.
08:26Highest paid player in the league.
08:28And that's why it's disappointing to Denzel, the Cowboy fan.
08:31Is Brock Purdy a star?
08:32I don't think he is.
08:33No, he's not.
08:35And to me, the word star is kind of misleading, which is why I love the Mike Sando tears,
08:40because he really kind of puts things in a proper relative perspective.
08:45Jalen Hurts is on a team that is so talented on both sides of the ball, and they ask him
08:50to do a certain thing, which is run when you can, pass when it's open, and give the ball
08:55to Saquon.
08:56And he did that better than anybody possibly could have, and they won the Super Bowl.
09:00And it's interesting to me that we don't hold that against Jalen Hurts like we do Brock
09:05Purdy, where two years ago, Brock has a great year, he goes to the Super Bowl, but it's because
09:10all the talent around you.
09:11Almost MVP.
09:11Look at what Philly had last year all around him, in the trenches, both trenches, a tight
09:18end who is one step short of the Hall of Fame, two elite receivers.
09:23He had everything.
09:23So we can't take a step back with what Dibbs is saying in Evan, and still really look at
09:28how you perform and say, okay, you don't have to go 100 miles an hour on this team, but
09:34we kind of know you're capable, and you're going 75, but then we got to rob them because
09:38Troy Aikman on line one, my favorite quarterback.
09:41No, I lean your direction.
09:42He had a great cast.
09:44I lean your direction because I'm not, like, I'm just not bothered by the word, but I'll
09:48acknowledge that everybody's got a different definition of it.
09:52You know, Dibbs knows this.
09:54I always joke, like, do not bring me to your debate about someone's Hall of Fame candidacy
09:59because my answer will be yes every time.
10:02Like, if you're even having a debate, I'm like, you're obviously very good, and if I'm
10:07bothered by the fact that you're in a museum, I'll just walk to the next display.
10:12I don't care.
10:13It's not a big deal.
10:14So if you want to call Jalen Hurts a star, rock out.
10:17He's a champion.
10:18My last day, I'm going Westbrook.
10:19He's a good player.
10:20He's a very good player.
10:21Evan's point, he had Lamar, I believe, three?
10:24Lamar what?
10:24Jackson on your list.
10:25Lamar and Harbaugh.
10:26Top two.
10:26But he's never been Lamar in the playoffs.
10:30So what if I said Lamar is electric, he's a talent, but in the postseason, when it's
10:35the most important, that's his kryptonite.
10:38So doesn't he lose points that way?
10:41He hadn't been to a Super Bowl.
10:43So couldn't I just come back to Evan and a half on Lamar?
10:47Like, I get the regular season, but in the kryptonite's the postseason.
10:51But so far, and I think this past postseason, he played better, and they haven't made it
10:56this far.
10:56And you can say the same thing about McDermott and Josh Allen, where in the postseason,
11:01they haven't been able to get it.
11:02But Allen has been, he ain't been the reason they lost.
11:05But still, and you know, I don't think Lamar's was the reason this past year.
11:08You know, you had the big drop, was it Mark Andrews?
11:11Yeah.
11:11With the drop and the drive.
11:13He didn't fumble at the one.
11:14But a couple stinkers in the past, Tennessee, Buffalo, at Buffalo.
11:18And this is where all these debates, they're so good, but they're also so deeply flawed.
11:22And your Aikman point is a great one, because he won three, he was surrounded by greatness.
11:26Oh my gosh.
11:27And if we all do our greatest quarterback ever, top 100, Aikman's not in the top 10.
11:33He's probably not in the top 20.
11:35He might be in that next group before you get to 30.
11:37And it's because of the fact that he was surrounded by greatness.
11:41And, you know, I don't think he gets the credit that he probably deserves for having three rings.
11:47Yeah, I mean, I think when we're looking at these quarterbacks,
11:50the whole purpose of the exercise was to figure out where Shanahan and Purdy fit as a duo.
11:56And I think me and Goo did agree on that.
11:59We both had him at eight.
12:00Yeah.
12:01And before and after, we varied.
12:03But the point was, I don't know if Shanahan sometimes is getting as much credit as other head coaches.
12:10Because he was one of the few guys that I was, when I was really breaking it down,
12:13that his quarterback I would have a little bit lower than eight.
12:17So what brings them into a higher number is the head coach.
12:21I love this point.
12:22Fair.
12:23I love this point.
12:24We both agree.
12:25And this is one of the things that I've often been frustrated by with the way this team gets talked about.
12:31Because they do get grouped.
12:33And so I always want to tell people, if you think that Brock Purdy is, quote,
12:39product of his system.
12:40Right.
12:40Or product of his surroundings.
12:43Or not really that good.
12:45Mr. Irrelevant.
12:46If you're saying all of those things, I feel you're also saying Kyle Shanahan's the greatest coach in the league.
12:52Jimmy Garoppolo.
12:53Right.
12:53You do not get it both ways.
12:56Like, if he is just a product of this thing that got built, who built it?
13:00Oh, he did.
13:01And who else in the league has done that?
13:03Not even Andy Reid.
13:05Yep.
13:05Not anybody.
13:06Nobody has been like, so let me just grab, you know, Bob Smith, and he can be my quarterback.
13:12And we'll go to the playoffs most years.
13:14Nobody else has done that.
13:15But I don't hear that point.
13:17It all gets kind of grouped into this whole, like, well, Christian McCaffrey's on the team, so, like, nothing else matters.
13:23Well, he went to a Super Bowl without C-Mac and had Jimmy as his quarterback.
13:27Kyle did.
13:28Kyle did.
13:28Yes, yes, yes.
13:29And, you know, I kind of shocked Stiney here yesterday because he said if the Niners don't make the playoffs, is the seat warm?
13:36Hell no, because I have perspective of what Kyle's built.
13:40Dibs, you got two or three years.
13:41Nobody wants to hear that.
13:42Hopefully it's not that.
13:44Kyle's a maid.
13:45He's got time to rebuild if they need to rebuild just from what he's built.
13:49Short of the guys they drafted all looking bad and them going 6-11, a healthy 6-11 with your drafted class looking like misses, then the seat could get a little bit warmer.
14:00Okay.
14:00I wonder if you guys had Dan Quinn and Jaden Daniels ahead of Shannon.
14:03Number 10 for me.
14:04Number 10.
14:05So behind.
14:05Okay.
14:06It's interesting.
14:07But time for the legal.
14:09Yeah, I think, well, so this is how it worked out.
14:11But, yeah, I had Philly 7, San Francisco 8, Green Bay 9, and then Washington 10.
14:19That's kind of how that area worked out.
14:21But you're listening to 95.7 The Game, KGMZFM and HD1 San Francisco and Odyssey Sports Station and the home of the Golden State Warriors and Valkyries.
14:28Always live on the free Odyssey app.
14:30Coming to you live from the Laughing Monk Studios.
14:32Laughing Monk righteously brewed in San Francisco.
14:34It's time for What's Bugging brought to you by Atco Pest Control.
14:37They don't need soil.
14:38They don't need water.
14:39But drywood termites will eat your home from floor to ceiling.

14:57Check out atcopestcontrol.com today.
14:59Well, I know, you know, on a birthday, it's kind of hard to think about what's bugging you.
15:02And Guru had about 12.
15:04But he also got a couple off during the show.
15:07Denzel was one of them.
15:08But is there anybody you'd like to start?
15:10I'll go.
15:11Birthday boys.
15:12I was going to say save you for last.
15:14Oh, my simple.
15:15If you want to go first, go.
15:16It's simple and mostly stupid.
15:18But what's bugging me is the algorithm.
15:21I clicked on an ad for one of those sleeve knee braces.
15:24Okay.
15:25To see if I might be able to have that instead of the brace.
15:27And so you look at it, it's like, okay, 50 bucks.
15:30I'll think about it.
15:31You click out of it.
15:32And now every single ad is from 12 different companies trying to sell me the knee brace.
15:36I wish there was a way to click.
15:38I already bought one.
15:39And then that way, all the ads would go away.
15:42But the algorithm is bugging me.
15:44It would be nice to just put in parentheses, I'm just checking.
15:48Yeah.
15:48I'm not obsessed.
15:49Or just bought it.
15:50Because it now thinks you're obsessed.
15:52If you upload a copy of your receipt, and then they'll say, okay, he probably doesn't need another one.
15:56You're good.
15:57Guru, I'll hit you in your cardiac on this one.
16:00I know you will relate.
16:01Okay.
16:02You know what's bugging me right now?
16:04Families across the United States are going through this this week.
16:08is the emotions surrounding 18-year-olds leaving for college or not leaving for college.
16:18Like, I'm in this space right now where an 18-year-old is still trying to figure out what's next.
16:24Christy's 18-year-old is leaving for Boise State in a matter of days here.
16:29Wow.
16:29And as a parent, what a complete mind bleep this is.
16:34Like, 87 different emotions of joy, fear, sadness, excitement, dysfunction, absolutely no clue how to move forward,
16:48yet also knowing it's the most necessary possible thing.
16:52It is the most gut-wrenching thing that a parent goes through.
16:58I'm sort of going through it for the first time, but not really.
17:02But I'm seeing so many friends dealing with this right now, and they're puddles.
17:08Everybody's just an excited, happy, emotional rollercoaster puddle.
17:13It's real.
17:14Yeah, shout out to all of you.
17:14And Stani's gone through it three times.
17:16I want to tell his business, Evan, but we had to console him.
17:20It's real, man.
17:21It is real.
17:22It is a lot.
17:22And Evan, you'll be there one day, baby.
17:23Well, speaking of Stani, he's who's bugging me, to be honest.
17:26Oh, boy.
17:28No, he's not here to defend himself.
17:29I told him yesterday, he gets on me for the smallest things.
17:35And in my mind, having an open house and throwing a party when I don't have a significant other is not a sin.
17:43I did not commit a crime by opening up, well, granted, there's other people that live there too,
17:48but our apartment for the foreseeable future on Saturday evening for people to come by as they please,
17:55have a few or more libations if they so choose, and there is nothing wrong with me throwing a party for myself.
18:03I got no one else to do it.
18:04So, Matt Steinmetz, the fact that you're on vacation, we don't have to rehash all that,
18:09but if you're listening out there, just know you were invited, you couldn't make it,
18:14and I think that's why you're angry at me.
18:16So, he's bugging me for coming down my road for throwing a party.
18:19Everybody does it.
18:21Tell us, Stani.
18:22Wow.
18:22There it is.
18:23Yeah, I love it.
18:25Don't get checked out.
18:26Don't get checked out.
18:27Birthday tomorrow dims the day.
18:28Do not ever be the fun police.
18:30Wow.
18:31You know, like, Stani yesterday sounded like the people that get mad at the baseball teams
18:35who celebrate going to the World Series as opposed to winning it.
18:39Like, don't pop champagne.
18:41You haven't won it.
18:41Shut up.
18:42Have fun with your life.
18:44No doubt about it.
18:44For God's sakes, whenever you can.
18:46Listen, this might be the first remix of what's bugging you,
18:49but I brought it up in the show, and I need more time because it's therapeutic.
18:53The missus is not listening.
18:54Wife going to, and the daughter going to North Carolina tomorrow.
18:57I went to the funeral.
18:58Can't go to this one.
18:59Five in the morning tomorrow.
19:00And we went to dinner last night, and my wife just has this mechanism in her
19:07to ask the waiters and waitresses, like, they're food critics, of what she should order.
19:12And it takes five minutes.
19:15And then yesterday dims, she ordered and returned it after she didn't like it.
19:19And my daughter and son head down and embarrass, Mom, I'll eat it.
19:23Don't return it.
19:24And I'm sitting there biting my tongue like, they got stuff to do.
19:29Go with your gut.
19:31Order what you want to order.
19:33But to have him read the source of whatever, and she ordered what he recommended,
19:39and then returned it, and then on top of this, what would you like, ma'am?
19:44Oh, nothing.
19:45So we're all eating.
19:47I'm embarrassed, hoping the other table's not hearing her return it.
19:51But just don't do that.
19:53They got jobs.
19:54Go with your gut, dibs.
19:56Order what you want to order, but don't put them through the fire of, how's the sauce?
20:03I'm like, just order and take a chance, because that's what we're all doing.
20:07She returned it.
20:09I had my head down.
20:10Oh, man.
20:11I was embarrassed.
20:12Chicken was cold.
20:13Just, come on.
20:14Don't.
20:15And the guy, to his credit, the waiter was like, you didn't took five minutes for me explaining,
20:20and you want to return it because it wasn't good.
20:24She wasn't rude, but the Johnsons were embarrassed.
20:27That's the part of it that I would take an issue with, because my wife does that a lot.
20:32Not every time, but sometimes.
20:33It's like, what do you get when you order, or what do you like from here?
20:37And then you get the recommendation.
20:39The dangerous part of that is if they say, oh, I like the scampi, or I like the fish,
20:43and you're like, I'll have the chicken.
20:45And then you totally go against them.
20:47And the other part, though, for me is, if you go with their recommend, and you don't
20:51like it, you've got to eat it.
20:53Because you went with their recommend.
20:54It can't return it.
20:55I mean, you've been there before.
20:57We have.
20:58This wasn't a new restaurant.
21:00There's that.
21:01That's a tough one.
21:02She's never happy.
21:04Returning it is for a mistake.
21:06That hurt me, man.
21:07It's not cooked right, or something came out incorrect.
21:11It's not seasoned.
21:13We put our hands, the kids were like, mom, just pass it here.
21:16Don't do it.
21:18And to her credit, no shame in the game.
21:20If the cow is still mooing, I understand.
21:22But you didn't order it that way.
21:24That's different.
21:25No, but there are some times when people are like, I'd like it rare.
21:28And then they present it rare, and it's too rare.
21:30And you're like, well, send it back.
21:31And the guy looks to you like, what are you doing?
21:32Yeah, that's a mistake.
21:33That's different.
21:34Yeah.
21:34What if you get an order of sliders with a side of arugula salad, and as you're going
21:39into the salad, out crawls a pincher bug?
21:42Oh, that bad boy's going back, or we might be leaving.
21:44Yeah.
21:45Well, it's funny.
21:46This was a long time ago.
21:48We went to Original Joe's with the boss.
21:49Oh, no, you can't tell over there.
21:51Oh, sorry about that.
21:51Well, that's out there anyways.
21:53And there was...
21:54Stop it!
21:55There was a...
21:56Instrument.
21:57There was some plastics that was, you know, I ordered, I don't know, like a scramble.
22:02And so there was a sausage filling.
22:03Anyways, there's plastic in the dish.
22:06And I'm sitting there, and I'm not going to lie, I just remove it, put it to the side,
22:10continue to eat my meal.
22:11I got mad at him.
22:12Well, I expected the boss to do something about it, because he was the one that was paying
22:17for the meal.
22:18And then we're walking home, and the boss goes, I should have said, so it's too late now,
22:21I got a fingernail in one of mine, like, oh my gosh, it was delicious.
22:27What was those, like, press-on attachables?
22:28Shout out, Loneal.
22:29All those attachables.
22:30Oh, that was toenails.
22:31It just popped off.
22:32I mean, the lady who was obviously doing something with the food, it just sprung free.
22:36She's a ballet dancer, yeah.
22:37I've told you all the Barbra Streisand story, right?
22:39No.
22:40I've told you this, right?
22:41I'm sure you did.
22:42Right?
22:42I love your stories a second time.
22:44The Barbra Streisand story?
22:45I will remember it.
22:46Okay.
22:47Waiting tables at Old Custom House in Avila Beach.
22:51Blue?
22:51This is either senior year in college, or I had just graduated and was trying to make
22:56a buck, one or the other, whatever.
22:58So, I'm running the front of the house at this restaurant, and Barbra Streisand walks in
23:04with James Brolin.
23:06Come on, man.
23:06Coming off of the beach in Avila Beach.
23:09Right.
23:09Like, you're talking, and this is a minute ago, maybe a few of you who are young are like,
23:13who's that?
23:13But this is, like, massive stardom.
23:16Come on, now.
23:17At the time, this is barely south of, like, Taylor and Travis.
23:21Good call.
23:22Walk in and sit, and they're the only people in the room, because it's 2.30 in the afternoon.
23:28Man.
23:28And we were known for our clam chowder.
23:32Barbara's chowder ended up with a B in it.
23:35And she found out when she ate it.
23:40Oh!
23:41So, the big tip is gone.
23:43I mean, well, no.
23:44A B for the big B.
23:45They were amazing.
23:46They were very, very kind.
23:48Because, obviously, in that case, I'm like, boss, you're going to take this one.
23:52How did you know about it before she ate it?
23:55Or did she just say, I got stung in my larynx?
23:57No, she didn't say I got stung.
23:58She called me over, and she's like, there's a B in the soup.
24:01I just crunched it, and then spit it out.
24:04Oh, my man.
24:04And there's a B.
24:05There's a B in the soup.
24:07And, like, you go back to the back of the house and tell everybody what's going on,
24:11and you will never see a restaurant lose their crap more than when something like that happens,
24:17when the biggest name that's ever been in your restaurant happens to sit down.
24:21And it was a cup.
24:22It wasn't even a bowl.
24:23So we're talking some bad luck here.
24:25It's a bad beat.
24:25It was a really bad beat.
24:27Jake Moody last season.
24:28So, anyway, they were comped, and I do think they probably left me some money.
24:32I don't even remember.
24:33Everybody was so freaked out.
24:33Not me soup, but B soup.
24:36That's a four.
24:36Oh, my God.
24:38They were very nice, though.
24:40They were very nice, but I don't think they came back.
24:42Yeah.
24:43Wow, man.
24:44It's embarrassing, too.
24:45What are you going to do, man?
24:46I didn't recommend the soup, though.
24:48That wasn't on me.
24:49And I told Evan and the listeners, had I been the waiter, I would have just threw in my,
24:54like, I would have let her have it.
24:57You then took up my time to meet it, and then you want to return it, and then you don't want
25:00nothing else.
25:01That's always tough for me.
25:02It's like, what do you recommend?
25:04There's a little bit of peer pressure.
25:05They're not food critics, too.
25:06They're not going to upcharge you.
25:07But they've eaten there, and if it's a place I've never been, it's like, you know, what's
25:10good here?
25:11Everything.
25:11Well, what do you like the most?
25:13I like the chicken sandwich.
25:14I'll have a burger.
25:15Now you're basically double middle-fingered to their, what they actually like.
25:19I don't know why you've been asking in the first place.
25:20Exactly.
25:21I steer away from all of it.
25:22It does.
25:23It makes the server feel like they're like, so I'm judging you.
25:26You look like a jerk, so tell me what you like so I know what not to order this, man.
25:32Jeez.
25:32The Johnsons.
25:33All right.
25:33Well, enjoy your birthday show, Dibs.
25:36Happy birthday, Dibs.
25:37Yes, sir.
25:38Guys, thank you so much.
25:39Wilder and Dibs, the birthday boy.
25:40He's going to do the whole show solo to celebrate.
25:43Steph Curry calling?
25:44Can't wait.
25:46Who knows?
25:4795-7 the game.
