00:07tag pass. Now on the very first day of the inauguration almost 1.4 lakh passes were activated
00:14on day one. Now the ministry of road transport and highway rolled out the fast tag annual pass
00:20on 15th of august priced at rupees 3000. The fast tag annual pass remains valid for either one year
00:26or 200 toll trips whichever is reached faster. The new fast tag annual pass has been made available
00:33for use across national highways and expressways and is specifically for those who use private
00:39owned vehicles. The ministry of road transport and highway reported that almost 1.4 lakh annual
00:45passes were activated on independence day that is 15th of august the day that this initiative was
00:50passed. Also the NHAI confirmed that the annual pass scheme went live at almost 1150 toll plazas
00:58across the country. Arrangements were completed to enable acceptance of the new passes from the first
01:04day of its launch. Now on day one as I mentioned almost 1.4 lakh transactions were recorded through
01:10the fast tag link to the annual pass. This figure was logged across toll plazas covered under the
01:16rollout and reflected usage from vehicle owners who had activated the new facility. Holders of the
01:22new annual fast tag passes receive SMS alert confirming zero direction from toll amounts.
01:27Also the Raj Magh Yatra mobile app which manages the fast tag system reported between 20,000 to 25,000
01:34active users at a time on the launch of the day. Now the NHAI also assigned officers to each toll plazas
01:41overseeing the smooth operation and the national highway helpline number 1033 was also reinforced
01:49with more than 100 additional personal handling inquiries from across the nation. Eligibility
01:55for the fast tag annual pass is restricted to only private and non-commercial vehicles that
01:59includes car jeeps and vans. Commercial vehicles have not been included in the scheme at this
02:04stage and the activation can be completed through the online Raj Magh Yatra app or the NHAI website.
02:11Now once you've activated processing of this pass typically takes around two hours of the purchase
02:16of verification of the vehicle and the fast tag details. Fast tag adoption in India currently
02:21covers about 98% of the toll transaction nationwide. Now official figures list more than 80 million
02:28users registered under this system. So we think that the fast tag annual pass scheme was introduced
02:32nationwide on Independence Day and has proven to be a brilliant success story for the Indian
02:37government with over 1.3 lakh transaction and 1.4 lakh activation happening by 7 pm on the same day
