00:00Uma última vez em 2.50 de Unadilla.
00:04Simota e Deegan lutando por ele.
00:06Vial vai para o primeiro turno.
00:11Então, Vial, uma boa start.
00:13E Bomair, as wellas, a KTM 1.2.
00:15Simota e Deegan lutando por um outro.
00:17Uma boa start.
00:41E, man, eu estou meia de Deus.
00:44Isso.
00:46Ele tem que ser menos fácil do que ele.
00:46Aookie de Deus.
00:47Ele tem um pouco de água.
00:48Tampinha Murata.
00:48Ele tem um pouco aperto.
00:49Ele tem um pouco tomamento.
00:50Ele tem um pouco de água.
00:51Ele tem um pouco de água.
00:52Ele tem um pouco aém.
00:53E um pouco muito mais difícil.
00:54Ele tem um pouco de água.
00:54E um pouco de água.
00:55Oh, hang on to that Tom Bial.
00:59Yeah, got a little cross run in Joe, man, hit a huge bump right there.
01:04And they go back after each other for the lead.
01:08Man, this track is tough.
01:09Yeah, it's really tough.
01:11I mean, they have to throw it out in the water.
01:12Otherwise, it's going to be dusty.
01:13Let's see what Joe can.
01:16Tom Bial maybe stay up front a little bit longer than he did,
01:19but that's going to be hard the way Joe really confident,
01:22worked on this part of the racetrack.
01:24Yeah, very much smoothed out.
01:26Deegan 10th.
01:28So Shimoda absolutely in position to stave off championship elimination here.
01:33He can finish his moto in front of Hayden.
01:36Title will go down to the finale at Bunce Creek.
01:38Uphill we go.
01:40And one piece of news, Shimoda 1, we saw Mikkel Harrop go down,
01:45and he has broken his car boat.
01:46So he's out for today.
01:48And what was a great jump into American racing for the summer
01:52for the Danish rider will come to an end unless he can make it back for the playoffs.
01:57I'm not sure if that's going to happen.
01:58Bial holding Shimoda at bay.
02:00Yeah, you know, Joe wants to be aggressive.
02:03But I think for him, after that first moto, he knows he has a lot of pace.
02:07The last thing he wants to do is throw it away.
02:08So maybe a little bit more patient, this moto in the opening part,
02:12because of all the water they put down,
02:15allowing Tom Bial to stay up front as Joe makes a small mistake behind him.
02:18So the Frenchman was in this position at Moto 1,
02:24wasn't able to hold Shimoda, but looking good right now.
02:27Yeah, it looks a lot better.
02:29Tom Bial good that first moto as well.
02:31He just got zapped by Joe.
02:33Joe's just on a different level, but now things are stretching out.
02:37It was good for number 16.
02:40And it's done me riding even better in Moto 2 than Moto 1.
02:45Seventh in his first race.
02:47Fourth right now, ahead of Bomer.
02:49Chichen Trasher, Smith Deegan, the top ten.
02:53Yeah, now Hayden at this moment being down in that ninth position,
02:56you're really going to start just focusing in on that championship,
02:59not to make too many mistakes.
03:00But now Joe Shimoda, now he's going back after Tom Bial.
03:03He might have the pass here.
03:04Tom's getting stuck on the inside.
03:05Nice move.
03:06You saw it coming, James, and there it is.
03:08The 30 to the lead.
03:10Yeah, Tom just got stood up in that corner
03:12and had a little bit of hesitation.
03:13So Joe railed it outside.
03:16See what he can do with it.
03:17He has that same pace and that same momentum
03:19he did that first moto.
03:20You're going to watch the number 30 walk away from him.
03:24Unreal.
03:25Shimoda and Yudadilla.
03:27Now he has had good results in this track before,
03:30but then last year crashed, broke his collarbone.
03:33Showing what he can do here today.
03:35Said it to Katie.
03:36I talked to him right before this race.
03:38He said they went one click stiffer on the bike,
03:40but you guys were talking about moto one.
03:42What he ate for breakfast.
03:43Well, I talked to his mechanic and he said,
03:45well, I know he eats salmon and rice for lunch,
03:47but doesn't know breakfast.
03:48Lars said, Lars Lindstrom, the team manager,
03:50said he eats his competition, but maybe some avocado eggs.
03:54The final answer was from Joe.
03:55I finally got it out of him.
03:56He was like, I don't know, like American breakfast,
03:58you know, like toast and stuff.
04:00So there you guys have it.
04:02The full circle story for Joshua and I, what do you direct them?
04:05I love it.
04:06Keeping it basic.
04:07That's Joe too, man.
04:09Like, what do you eat?
04:09You know, steak?
04:10What?
04:10I just ate toast.
04:11Yeah.
04:12I ate toast.
04:13Toast to the competition.
04:14He is definitely a toast.
04:15I've worked him up.
04:16Yep.
04:17Ooh.
04:17Now, Bial Hager with him a little bit better than Moda 1
04:20as we check in with Deegan, though,
04:22who's closing on Vomere in a battle for six.
04:26Can't tell if he got him here or not.
04:30And this could affect the overall podium as it runs.
04:34It'd actually be Bial and Hamaker on the box.
04:37See if Deegan can move forward.
04:40I think it's actually Kitchen.
04:41So he's made the move on Vomere.
04:43Yes, he has.
04:44Did not see any signs of Kitchen was buried in Moda 1.
04:49Much better here in Moda 2.
04:50Yeah, I was looking at the lap chart from Levi.
04:53He actually wrote really good.
04:54He was outside the top 25 as Hayden goes off the racetrack.
04:58So for him to make his way up into that 10th place,
05:00Levi obviously has some pace.
05:03The story too many times, though,
05:05the starts for Kitchen this summer
05:07and also the one good Moda, one bad.
05:10It's kind of the same scenario here.
05:12Let's see what he can do from fifth.
05:14Last year's race winner at Utadilla.
05:18He's tracked in so difficult for these guys.
05:22It's a lot rough for now,
05:24but probably a lot easier than it was
05:26those opening few laps that first moto.
05:30Joe's not able to stretch it out
05:31over Tom Bial as much as he did
05:33that first moto.
05:35so good sign by the number 16.
05:41And Kitchen has Dougie right ahead of him.
05:46Oh, same line Deegan used.
05:48Yes, or sorry, earlier today, not quite enough.
05:52Thought he was going to use that sneaky inside line.
05:54Kitchen at enough distance.
05:55Points as they run is championship points.
05:57Deegan needs a 50-point lead to wrap it.
05:59It would only be 39 if it ends like this.
06:03Yeah.
06:03Down to the finale.
06:04Yeah, you got to believe Payton at this point.
06:07Yeah, he wants to get up at least into that second place.
06:09I don't know if he's too worried about Joe,
06:11especially the way Joe rode that first moto,
06:12but nonetheless,
06:14Payton feels like he can win this thing.
06:16You know he has the confidence.
06:17He's done it before.
06:18He's got to get around Levi if he can.
06:21That's close.
06:25Talk about the roost, by the way,
06:26when you're in this battle.
06:27Actually, JT, go ahead on the 47th.
06:29Watching Levi here,
06:31and Hayden's not able to find a way around,
06:33but we have to remember,
06:34this has been a really good track for Levi historically.
06:37He won a moto here a couple years ago.
06:38He was actually the overall winner here in 2024.
06:41So, yes, he's been struggling as of late,
06:44but when he's riding well at a track
06:46where he feels very comfortable,
06:47he's certainly capable of running with anybody.
06:50Yeah, no, I agree.
06:53Payton did get a nice move up the inside.
06:55I don't know if Levi realized he was that close,
06:57but it might be costly if Hayden makes his pass stick.
07:01Hayden?
07:02Katie?
07:03Yeah, Levi had a bad start there in that first moto
07:06and was started at 38, basically.
07:08Had to work his way back up.
07:09He got to 10th.
07:10I asked him right before that moto
07:11how he was actually feeling today,
07:13knowing that at Ironman,
07:15he wasn't feeling himself.
07:16He said, I'm recovered.
07:17I mean, I just made my way up from 38.
07:19I feel like my fitness is there.
07:21I just got to put some good, solid laps together,
07:23and I feel like I can get at least a decent finish here.
07:26Well, it is decent.
07:28He's at six right now.
07:30He had another off-track excursion.
07:33Yeah, it was, what, second time, second or third time,
07:36we see that, and, you know, again, the track's just blowing out.
07:40These guys are searching for that traction.
07:41Hayden is, but now he's got his teammate right in front of him.
07:46It's a nice line by him.
07:48Well, Dundee's going to find out how chill Deegan is.
07:52He's going to test that friendship.
07:53Uh-huh.
07:54As that would be for fourth.
07:56Highmaker third.
07:57And again, Deegan's not on the overall podium.
08:00Is that mine on purpose, or is that a mistake?
08:02No, I think he was probably confused on what he wanted
08:04and made it work, actually, trying to get to that inside.
08:07Anyway, Deegan needs to make a move here to get to the podium today.
08:13And I'm sure job one is to just keep it safe
08:16for the championship point scenario.
08:18Probably not going to wrap it up today.
08:20Don't want to throw it all away right now.
08:24And that was Schwartz.
08:25We saw a rider down.
08:28And Jack Chambers as well.
08:30You hate to see it.
08:32So we saw one rider down, now two.
08:35Schwartz and Jack Chambers out.
08:36Chambers on the Partzilla Blaster, Kawasaki.
08:41Schwartz on the Toyota Redlands Bar X Yamaha.
08:44Deegan going back to work on Dundee.
08:46Yeah, that was a moment for Hayden in that sweeper section
08:49in front of the top, throwing him.
08:50But, you know, one thing I think will keep Hayden fighting forward
08:55is if Joe doesn't get away any more than he has.
08:59I mean, Tom Bial is still two and a half seconds behind him.
09:01So Hayden can see that compared to that first motor.
09:03You never know, JT.
09:04Just watching Joe, you know, I think that first motor,
09:08how much pace he had and the way he went about winning,
09:11I think that's allowing him in his mind to be much more patient here.
09:14Because he knows if he really needs to push, he has that pace.
09:17But the track is really punitive if you make a mistake.
09:20If you get out of the main line, you can lose a lot of time.
09:23So I think he's backed it down knowing the edge he has.
09:27And I think he's comfortable kind of running this pace and riding well within his limits.
09:30Yeah, that's a great point, JT.
09:32I didn't really think about that.
09:33And you might be right.
09:34I mean, he doesn't have to look too far to know how to do that
09:37when you think about his teammates in the 450 class, Jett Lauren.
09:40So we'll see how that plays out.
09:43If Hayden starts moving his way up, Joe might turn that pace up.
09:46But Tom Bial is still doing a good job at staying somewhat close to Joe,
09:51especially after that first motor.
09:52And then last weekend, I felt like Tom Rowe really good at that second motor as well.
09:56See what he can do.
09:59And again, it'd be second overall for Bial.
10:02I mean, back-to-back podiums in his return from injury at Millville.
10:08Shimoda throwing down, open it up just a little bit, though.
10:10And then we go to Hamaker in third.
10:13Told us at Ironman the goal is to get an overall podium before the season is up.
10:16We have three races to do it.
10:17Today could be the day for the Pennsylvania native.
10:21Still attending to Chambers down there.
10:23And there's Digan who made the move on Dundee.
10:25So Hayden Digan now up to fourth.
10:28Still fourth overall, though.
10:31He's got to get Hamaker.
10:33Oh, it's going to be so tough for Hamaker.
10:35Can he hang on to that podium?
10:37As for Dundee, a great run in his pro debut.
10:41Yeah, really, really impressed.
10:43Maybe he can hook a rod with Hayden.
10:45Lots of lines.
10:46They're able to, they're starting to pull away from Levi.
10:48So both of them have got a good pace.
10:49It takes a look back.
10:51Katie?
10:52Yeah, Katie and Dundee had an impressive first motor.
10:55And I asked him, how was it?
10:57He said, you know, it was a lot of fun.
10:59Very good.
11:00But I did get a little too excited on those opening laps.
11:02So this time around, I'm going to chill.
11:04I'm going to take it easy.
11:05And not easy in the sense of easy.
11:07But, you know, he continued to say, like, easy in myself, my mentality.
11:10And ride my own race.
11:12And that's what we're seeing with Caden Dundee.
11:13And I think it's really impressive what he's done here in his opening laps here in moto number two, knowing what he was trying to get done.
11:20I mean, it looks like he's executing that.
11:23Yeah.
11:23You could go on him, but he's not panicked.
11:25No, he's not panicked.
11:26And that's what I saw that first motor.
11:27And you expect that to happen.
11:29He gets out here, a good start.
11:31Very excited.
11:32And I saw this kid ride in the next program last weekend.
11:37This kid's got a bright future in this sport, along with Cole Davies, once he gets back healthy.
11:42So just need to finish this thing off.
11:44But it's going to be a tough one.
11:46You know, longer moto, second moto here.
11:48And an insanely rough racetrack.
11:51An insanely rough racetrack.
11:52And it just came back from injury last weekend.
11:54So, so far, so good.
11:58Yeah, wasn't able to race the big one, the Monster Energy Amateur National at Loretta Lynn's, because he was hurt during the qualifiers for that.
12:05He was back on the bike by the time Loretta's was happening.
12:07But if you don't qualify, you can't race.
12:09So instead, he jumped in with SMX next last week, won a moto, and then had a terrible start at another one, and was in comeback mode.
12:17So didn't get the overall win.
12:18That went to Enzo Temmerman, and a lot of these young riders will square off first two playoff rounds.
12:24We'll have a 250 race for the amateurs.
12:29So well done, Kate Dunney.
12:30Welcome to the pros.
12:32Yeah, it looks good, JT.
12:34Yeah, he looks great here.
12:35And, you know, he's battling there with Hayden Deacon.
12:37But we've got to remember sometimes, you know, this whole Monster Energy Yamaha star racing team, they all practice again.
12:43So there is no surprise about what the pace is.
12:46He's not going to go out there and say, oh, man, I wasn't expecting that.
12:49Well, he's going to face the likes of Deacon and Cole Davies and everybody else, Daxton Benick and the occasional Cooper Webb sighting.
12:57That's what he has to face on a daily basis.
12:59So this probably feels like a Wednesday, the pace.
13:02And, yes, he's getting thrown into the deep end.
13:04But guess what happens when you learn to swim in the deep end?
13:07It doesn't seem so difficult anymore.
13:08So I think it's just him getting a good start and understanding what the pace is.
13:13But that comes through repetition throughout the week.
13:15Yeah, I agree.
13:17He definitely got thrown in deep end.
13:18Kind of like my dad, how he taught me swimming.
13:21Well, it looks.
13:21Learn how to swim or drown.
13:23I'm here today, people.
13:25So I learned how to swim.
13:27Dundee's here as well.
13:28We're on a top five.
13:29And this would be fifth overall as well because they have a good first photo.
13:33So I'll show you Kitchen back here next in sixth on the Monster Pro Circuit Kawasaki.
13:41And give you the gap between he and the rookie.
13:45There it is.
13:47And then it would be Bommere coming through next.
13:50I think one thing to remember with Kitchen, yes, it has not been the same level of summer that he had last year when he was winning races.
13:57But he's got a massive injury at Daytona.
14:01Now, you're never going to get the riders to tell you straight if that actually is a factor or not.
14:05If it's going to be the first saying they don't want it, they've got to convince themselves.
14:09So they're not going to say that's an issue.
14:11But, I mean, that is a big thing to recover from.
14:14Oh, yeah.
14:15Yeah, a huge thing.
14:16I mean, for him, he knows he has.
14:19He's just got to figure it out.
14:20And same thing with this rider, you know, coming off the injury, getting his eyes checked and all that.
14:25So, you know, these guys, they've got a lot to play for this year, but also next year as well.
14:31So we've got to finish this thing off, get through those playoffs and build for that 2026 season.
14:37Thrasher behind him.
14:39Hey, good to see Thrasher over the top ten.
14:41And then there's Ryder DiFrancisco on the Rockstar Gas Gas.
14:45Ryder said he did not ride this week.
14:46Decided to do something different.
14:48Trying to rest and recover instead.
14:50Fucking sure if that was going to be the right move.
14:52Only way to find out is how he felt on race day.
14:54Got a pretty good moto going right now.
14:57And March base 10.
14:58Yeah, sometimes that's, I mean, that's what you got to do.
15:01I mean, Joe's kind of said the same thing.
15:03Looked fresh to me, you know.
15:05At this point, you're not going to gain that fitness.
15:08If you don't have it, you don't have it.
15:09You've got to show up at these races ready to go races.
15:11As they jump into Gravity Cavity, you see Thrasher, then Dudney and Deegan up ahead.
15:19Reminder to check out Yamaha's Beyond the Gate.
15:22So you get an inside look both at the races and back home with Yamaha's factory-supported race teams.
15:29So you get to know Caden Dudney, who's a new face on the scene.
15:33Go to at Yamaha Motor USA.
15:38That's their YouTube channel.
15:39And then new episodes late every week.
15:43Recapping the previous weekend's race.
15:45And here's Thrasher, who's had an off-and-down summer.
15:47But nicely done right now in eight.
15:49In the top ten.
15:52And you know what?
15:53We mentioned the playoffs coming up.
15:55Would it not be so Nate Thrasher-like for him to all of a sudden come out of nowhere
15:58and rip off a win at one of these playoff rounds?
16:01Yeah, put a thrashing on him.
16:02Yeah.
16:03You never know when it's coming with this guy.
16:05No, you don't.
16:06Especially with this hybrid format and the way it works.
16:10You'll be surprised of all these guys.
16:12They all have the speed to do it.
16:15Yeah, you see the finishes.
16:16That's why the top ten's big for Thrasher.
16:19He hasn't been in the top ten the last couple of weekends.
16:21Halfway through.
16:23Reminder, that Monster Energy available at Morabito.
16:27And we might have a Thrasher-DeFrancisco battle before this one is done.
16:33And we might have a Deegan-Hamaker battle.
16:35And this is for the overall podium that Hamaker wants so badly.
16:39Yeah, well, he's got to earn it because you know Hayden's going to be here with 13 minutes left.
16:44And fighting in Hayden knows that as well.
16:46So...
16:46That toe you talk about, Deegan has him in his sights now.
16:53Fires him up a little bit?
16:55Yeah, it fires him up.
16:56And Seth is in a tough spot because he can't see Tom Diaz.
16:59So he's going to have to race behind him and forward because you know Hayden Deegan is going to be there the whole time.
17:06But we saw this happen in that first moto.
17:09You know, Seth, those guys closed in on him at the end of that moto.
17:12But he was able to pick up that pace and hang on for it.
17:15So, see if he can do the same thing here.
17:17Deegan on a roll right now, getting closer and closer.
17:2112 minutes and two laps to go.
17:23Set out of Pennsylvania.
17:30Had great success in that Eastern...
17:33Oh!
17:34Snake from Deegan.
17:35Yeah, looks like he's got some tear-offs hanging off the side of his goggles.
17:39Been like that for a few laps.
17:43Hey, Joe Shimoda just turned in his fastest lap of the race.
17:45So, maybe that goes to JT's point.
17:47Being a little more patient with the speed this time.
17:50The gap isn't gigantic.
17:51It's only four seconds over Vial.
17:54He won the first moto by 40 seconds.
17:56So, we get back to the Hamaker-Deegan battle.
17:59Katie.
18:00Yeah, Seth Hamaker has definitely navigated the medical concerns of his body here.
18:05Earlier in the summer, they had found that he was working with, like, some sort of autoimmune.
18:08And he said it's really exciting because they started to finally diagnose whatever it was that they were dealing with.
18:14And he said after that, he really felt like he could hightail it, get into gear,
18:19and really feel and understand what the bike was doing with his body.
18:22And talking to Mitch Payton today, he said, man, the guy has raw speed.
18:26And he just has to put it together.
18:28And right now, we're seeing Hamaker do that.
18:30Deegan to get it back overall.
18:33No doubt about it.
18:34What I was going to say earlier, he had that big swing to the Northeast and Monster Energy Supercross.
18:38And he got some wins in front of the home crowd.
18:41And this one, not too far away here in upstate New York.
18:44So, you know, he's got some people pulling for him.
18:46Now, Deegan always has fans anywhere we go.
18:49And it is a duel right now.
18:50Yeah, and he's about to make some more fans.
18:52He's about to get up to the inside.
18:53But, no, Seth got through this corner.
18:55Now, what you can't see, this corner is somewhat off-camber.
18:58And Seth wants to get on the gas as Hayden makes that pass.
19:01But he literally can't because the bike's falling away from him.
19:04So, nice pass by Hayden Deegan.
19:07That puts him in from fourth to second overall now.
19:11Yeah, that is a massive difference because it would push Hamaker off the podium.
19:16He walks more badly.
19:17So close, might be denied.
19:19Deegan is rolling.
19:20I suspect what Hayden's going to do is try to put in a good lap.
19:26See if he can break Seth to run Tom D'Al.
19:28I mean, he's about 17 seconds behind him.
19:32It's going to be tough to get up there.
19:35But if you want to try to put Tom off, Seth, the way of, excuse me.
19:38Yeah, and is it a little different for Deegan right now with the big championship lead but not enough to wrap up the title?
19:45Would he play a little differently potentially?
19:46Yeah, I mean, he would.
19:48I mean, he knows how good Joe is riding.
19:50And he felt like he would probably get second anyway.
19:53But nonetheless, he's got to stay on two wheels at this point.
19:57Hey, James, look who's making up for a bad start here and making passes.
20:00It's Garrett Marshbanks like he does every week.
20:03Yeah, he's a little below his average on passes today.
20:07You know, probably only past 20 people.
20:10This track's another one.
20:11I mean, he rode good.
20:12I said early in that first moto that I didn't think he would get to the top five, but he proved me wrong.
20:17This one is going to be tough.
20:19Everybody's starting to be spreaded out with only 10 minutes left.
20:22If he makes his pass, it will be the 170th pass he has made this summer.
20:30I talked to Garrett last week.
20:32They've done a lot of changes to the bike for starts over the break after Washougal.
20:37But at the end, it's pretty much the same saying it did have a good second moto start last week.
20:42But three of the motos he's had to make work from mid-pack, Katie.
20:45Yeah, 170.
20:47That's insane.
20:47I talked to him right before this race, and he said, I just hope I can get a good start.
20:51I'm so tired of passing riders, he says, I heard.
20:54But in talking with Mitch Payton, you know, that is what makes him great.
20:58It's his advantage, of course, that he's maybe a bit heavy on that bike, but the advantage is his fitness.
21:03He's still good.
21:04He's still moving.
21:05He's not getting tired.
21:07And that is what Garrett Marchbank brings to the table.
21:11It's called a mad child growing up.
21:12Still pretty darn strong these days, James.
21:14He looks strong to me, and he's working on Nate right here.
21:18So I'm waiting.
21:19I'm sure he's probably over again, you know, passing these guys.
21:23But it's ultimately helping him out.
21:25I mean, he's in third in the championship so far.
21:27And what a great season for Garrett, JT.
21:30And just on Marchbank, it's so interesting.
21:32He's one of the few riders that has remained in California for the summer to practice outdoors.
21:37Once upon a time, it was commonplace.
21:39Everybody was there riding at certain tracks on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
21:43Now everybody has migrated east during the heat and the humidity, being better acclimated for a weekend like we saw at Ironman as you see Garrett make a mistake here.
21:50But he has remained in California and seems to be working.
21:54So I don't expect that trend to change.
21:56I think what we've seen will stay.
21:57It's just an interesting change for Garrett Marksbrink and a big difference.
22:00Yeah, he had spent a lot of time originally out of Utah, but a lot of time riding in facilities in the eastern U.S.
22:09and then racing for the Club of X team for the last couple of years back with Kawasaki this year.
22:15That's the squad that he grew up riding for.
22:17Got this second opportunity.
22:18We have heard he now has re-signed with the team for next year.
22:22But right now his focus is on the moment, and that is trying to make more passes.
22:26Yeah, he's doing good.
22:28And maybe one of these guys are riding down here in Florida, you know, wearing them out.
22:31I mean, it's been really hot.
22:33Garrett's somewhat saying without the humidity in California might be helping them out.
22:36But nonetheless, riding really good.
22:38I'm happy to hear he's signed back.
22:41Good sign by Mitch.
22:43Good job by Nate.
22:45Fighting him off still.
22:50Can't quite get there yet on Thrasher, the Tennessee native.
22:54Holding strong behind them.
22:56He got DeFrancisco.
22:58Yeah, when you see these guys get really close to them, they're going to try to pass because you see all those little white rocks in the screen.
23:06You don't want to be sitting behind somebody.
23:07You see a lot of them running as handguards.
23:09So when they get close, they're trying to make their pass.
23:12Otherwise, they will probably drop back and attack again later.
23:15Yeah, I was hoping you'd get there with the roosting unit.
23:17I don't know how you can describe it to your best here.
23:20Feel those rocks.
23:21Yeah, it's almost impossible, too.
23:25Literally, these guys, sometimes you can get really close to them, and the roosts actually go up underneath you.
23:31You won't be able to hit it.
23:32But as Garrett goes around the outside of Ney, nice pass, JT.
23:35Yeah, just thinking about the roost, the best way I can describe it is go to your local paintball location and just stand in front of your opponent for 35 minutes and let them unload on you.
23:46That's about as good as it's going to get.
23:48Just paintball to your body for 35-30 minutes.
23:51That's what Unidale is, unfortunately.
23:53Yeah, for those who haven't played that, they say it hurts.
23:56The motivation in paintball, you don't want to just not get hit because you're going to lose.
24:00It's because it hurts.
24:01Yeah, I played paintball once.
24:03I got shot.
24:03I wanted to fight somebody.
24:04It hurt so bad.
24:07Dudney, down.
24:09And he was closing on hammock.
24:11They were running really well.
24:11They were battling.
24:13Still a good ride by him.
24:14Closing in on Seth right there.
24:17I think he picked his bike up.
24:18Julian got around him.
24:19I don't know if it's anybody else.
24:23Yeah.
24:24Yeah, about two spots there that he lost.
24:26Here's the battle.
24:27Oh, yeah.
24:27He really closed in on Seth.
24:28Goes in his corner.
24:31What happened here?
24:33I think he might have hit neutral.
24:34Yeah, the bike just stopped going.
24:35Yeah, I think he might have hit neutral out there.
24:40A little tip over.
24:41Look, the things he's learned, I'm sure, in this photo, and he will be back for Bud's Creek.
24:46Pretty impressive.
24:47Racing out the front of the field.
24:49Even more impressive is this.
24:51Joe Shimoda, not as dominant this time around, but a solid lead in 2ndy Moto 2.
24:58Hey, Super Moto Cross playoffs, one of the big differences as they're upcoming is the two-day format.
25:04You get the best racing on the planet, but you also, on Friday, have open pits, press conferences, a live podcast show.
25:10We'll take questions from the audience, even for the likes of James Stewart, and then, of course, action on the track with qualifying and practice a little bit on Friday and then racing on Saturday.
25:21Be there, but history gets made.
25:22Go to SuperMotocross.com and be there for the whole weekend.
25:27Joe Shimoda is going to add to the bench racing lore as the playoffs loom because he's closing it up points.
25:34And Pro Moto Cross, still going to be tough to get this title.
25:38Deegan's just going to need to be solid and smart at Bud's Creek.
25:41Couldn't even wrap it up at Moto 1, but you're going to reset the points.
25:44This guy is going to be a contender for those three playoff rounds.
25:49Kitchen has caught hammocker.
25:52Yeah.
25:53Levi, I mean, sometimes he has these mid-moto where he starts going backwards and regroup.
26:00So with the Levi, we kind of expect it.
26:03Oh!
26:04And goes down.
26:05Yeah, but he was going for it.
26:06You've got to give him credit.
26:08He was trying to get to that inside maybe before his teammate got back.
26:11But it's the front end, and I know that's a hard section of track.
26:15He's probably going to hate himself in the shower later.
26:19Get a little skin, but I like seeing that from Levi rather than just giving it up on there.
26:26Yeah, there wasn't a ton to gain.
26:28That's just Eraser being Eraser and going after Hammocker anyway.
26:32So that's going to drop him behind DeFrancisco tonight, and we'll show you the crash again.
26:38Yeah, you're going to see Zeph up here.
26:40And he's going to stay on the outside.
26:42You can tell Levi was trying to get there.
26:43At this point, he knew Zeph was going to be on the outside.
26:46So what he was trying to do, get to the inside before Zeph got back, and he just loses the front end.
26:50So that's him racing, trying to race forward.
26:55Definitely goes down there.
26:57Go back up.
27:00And Deacon, meanwhile, not able to make tracks toward Villal.
27:02So it looks like it's going to end with Villal second in the moto.
27:11Deacon will be second overall.
27:13But what really matters is this.
27:14We mentioned the championship.
27:17Is that Villal a lot closer to Shimoda than we've seen before?
27:20No, I thought that.
27:21I think that's a lot broader.
27:22I was looking at the same thing.
27:23It is a KTM, but it is not Villal.
27:26It's even the same gear with the Alpine star.
27:29So that's why we got a little confused there.
27:31There we go.
27:31All right, so Shimoda still has a solid lead.
27:33Anyway, started the idea talking about championship Saturday.
27:37Probably not going to happen.
27:39And you just never know.
27:41You just never know.
27:42Shimoda's going to take it to the finale.
27:44Deacon will have a big championship lead.
27:4743 points.
27:48And that's why he could wrap it up in moto one.
27:51But you never know in motorsports.
27:52You never know.
27:53And Hayes is doing exactly what he needs to do.
27:56If he can't beat Joe, then look, finish second in the overall.
28:00And pretty much has this thing just a moto.
28:03Finish the next moto.
28:04He should have this wrapped up.
28:05The last thing you want to do is try to push in on a track that's already sketchy.
28:10When the likelihood of Joe's just on it today, probably wasn't going to happen.
28:14So he's doing the right thing.
28:16Just wait until next week.
28:18Yep.
28:18Going to take the 2-3, perhaps, on a day where Shimoda just could not be beat.
28:26And there you see how that overall will turn up with a half-acre now bump back to fourth.
28:30Dugney looking at eighth in his pro debut after the crash.
28:38Deacon working those edges, man.
28:39It was up near the grass again, then all the way to the right.
28:43But well within the markers, at least at the top of the hill.
28:45Looking for real estate, smooth real estate.
28:50Yeah, and if he would have missed that line, working those edges, then he would have ended up funneling all the way to the outside.
28:55Because if I said earlier, it's almost like off-camber.
28:58It just wants to push away from you.
29:00So you can see these guys are really trying to fight that line.
29:06Shout-out to Tom Vial.
29:07Good moto.
29:07Yeah.
29:08Good second moto last weekend.
29:10You know, since he's been back, running really good.
29:13Another guy that we expect to be up there fighting for this possible title during these playoffs.
29:20Yeah, it goes back to that conversation we had earlier where they talked about Unidilla being such a European Grand Prix style track.
29:27But some of the races these days, they have tracks like this.
29:31But they have some of what they call flyway races where they'll put together a man-made track in the middle of a city, something like that.
29:37And Vial was very good, I remember, when the playoffs began in 2023 for the first time.
29:41Because of his versatility, he's ridden those man-made, like, hybrid-ish motocross tracks before.
29:47So, yeah, he's got some momentum coming in as well.
29:50Yeah, he definitely does.
29:51I mean, you go back to Ironman, he was there most of that moto last weekend, getting to third place.
29:56And that second moto, he was there with these guys.
29:58So, yeah, Tom obviously has two Supercross championships, so he knows how to ride all kind of conditions.
30:04And I think he's just getting more confident and is showing on the racetrack.
30:09Looking forward to seeing what he can do these next four races.
30:13And, by the way, how about Julia Bomer in fourth?
30:16Big improvement over last week.
30:18Missed a ton of racing in the mid-portion of this ProMotoCast campaign with a concussion.
30:24And quietly, a huge improvement.
30:26Kind of back to where he was at the beginning of the campaign.
30:29There he is.
30:30And he just got around Seth for fourth place.
30:32Great ride by Julian.
30:38And playoff seating.
30:40He's going to go ahead of Folland here and move into sixth.
30:45Breakthrough season for the sophomore out of Lake Havasu, Arizona.
30:49Got a win in Supercross with the title contender there.
30:52Started off very well in ProMotoCross at the opener.
30:55Then had a big crash at High Point.
30:57Things kind of fell apart.
30:59Rebuilt it.
31:00Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
31:02Hang on to it, boy.
31:03Woo-hoo.
31:03Yeah.
31:05All right, here we got it.
31:07What's that?
31:08Oh, there's Garrett.
31:09Trying to chalk him up another one.
31:13Yeah, the heat got to Garrett's second moto last week.
31:16Not going to be a problem this time.
31:18But Hamaker has fallen off the pace a bit.
31:21And he's got more company.
31:24Free to go.
31:26Yeah, Garrett knows he's closing in on a teammate.
31:28Got that wounded death situation going on.
31:32Trying to do him pretty good.
31:35And I feel like if he gets close, don't put that pressure on him.
31:37He should be able to get around him at this point.
31:39Yeah, this is the worst possible scenario because Seth Hamaker knows what Garrett Marks makes does.
31:48He's passed 170 riders.
31:49And this is the guy he has to fend off for the last two laps.
31:52We thought it was tough with Deegan fighting for the podium.
31:54It's just getting harder and harder here for Hamaker.
31:57Yeah, you can see the pace different.
31:59Garrett almost ran in the back of him.
32:01He should have him right here.
32:03This little split lane.
32:04Garrett gets through this part.
32:06He didn't really put up too much fight.
32:10Yeah, maybe not much left physically there from Hamaker,
32:12who has had his issues, as Katie was talking about before,
32:15with the health in these long, rough, hotter outdoor motos.
32:20Supercross, he was a revelation this year.
32:23He always has speed, though.
32:24But not quite strong enough to get that podium that he wants.
32:30March Banks up to fifth.
32:33Yeah, and he's trying to go out to Julian in front of him as well.
32:37He never stops.
32:40He's literally did a new hander driving bunny.
32:43Picture him beating that drum.
32:46Keeps going and going.
32:48Garrett March Banks out of Utah.
32:51Can he get Bo Mare with a lap and a half to go?
32:54And Bo Mare, he's such a no-excuses guy.
33:03So even though he had the big crash at High Point, hurt his wrist,
33:06had a concussion, but there was time off between that and Southwick.
33:08So he was clear that he was able to come back.
33:10And he talked about going to Florida to start riding the sad tracks
33:13to prepare for Southwick.
33:14And all he talked about was how bad he was riding, riding terribly.
33:18And he wouldn't say that part of the reason was he still had some headaches.
33:21He still had some issues because he doesn't want to be an excuses guy.
33:25But after a while, he finally had to say to the team,
33:29man, I think I need a little bit of time off.
33:30It was after Redbud.
33:31And I don't think they put any pressure on him at all.
33:33It was all his call to want to keep trying.
33:35And then after Redbud, but he said he gave it everything he had and got 16th.
33:41It was out for Washougal and Millville.
33:45And now back with a vengeance right now.
33:47Yeah, I mean, that's impressive.
33:49But I think that's the equity he's built up, being a no-excuses guy.
33:53When he does say something, the team understands that it must be.
33:57And they gave him plenty of time to heal up.
34:00And obviously, it's working out well.
34:02Found some other issues that came out.
34:04So far, hang on to this fourth place.
34:06It'd be a great finish by him in his second mode,
34:09especially if he can hang out, hold up Garrett.
34:12I go back to when his Supercross season kind of derailed.
34:15He dislocated his shoulder in Dallas.
34:17Had a bad race.
34:19Didn't tell him about the injury.
34:20And then when he found out, he said,
34:21it doesn't matter, I should have got on the podium anyway.
34:23I should have.
34:25That's not an excuse.
34:25So that's just the way some of these guys are wired.
34:28We get that from Eli Tomac a lot.
34:31They're going to give you everything they have, no matter what.
34:33Here's Shimoda.
34:35Last lap here.
34:37He's had a 1-1 before.
34:38He did it in Iron Man two years ago.
34:40But this has got to be the best day.
34:41Yeah, no, this is the best day.
34:43And you said earlier, maybe not the most dominant compared to that first moto.
34:46But almost, I could argue the opposite.
34:49Okay.
34:50Because of the way he was doing it.
34:51Letting his track bake in.
34:54And as JT said, you know, I got the speed.
34:56I got the rush.
34:57And to be able to win the championship, you got to be able to ride like that.
35:00To me, we saw the pace.
35:03He looked comfortable doing it.
35:04And this is a guy that if he continues like this, it's going to be a huge threat for next year.
35:08And that's why I feel like Joe today showed something completely different to me.
35:13He's got that speed.
35:14Now he's got that consistency.
35:15And, man, I love what I like to see.
35:19I love seeing this from Joe Shimoda.
35:21Got the right attitude.
35:22Throw a little whip for the crowd.
35:24At first moto, he was so dominant that it wasn't even, you know, he was able to rest up halfway through.
35:28So I knew physically he was going to be there.
35:31And as I said earlier, coming off the gate, I saw him and Hayden.
35:34They were going at it, like banging off.
35:36And Joe was not having, he was not being denied today.
35:39It's going to be a real threat for these playoffs.
35:41100%.
35:41And how about the improvements?
35:43The book had started to be written about Shimoda, that he only comes on late in the races, late in the championship.
35:50When he started the year winning on a high one, proving he could win early in the year.
35:53He was great in the early races, this motocross championship.
35:56He's improved the early race speed, all the knots that on him the last couple of years.
36:02As you said in the first moto, he's turning some of the weaknesses into strengths.
36:06And look what it's done for him now.
36:07Yeah, no, it's done.
36:08And you're seeing a rider that always had speed and condition.
36:11Now he's got that confidence.
36:14I feel like when he's riding up, he feels like he'd beat anybody in the world.
36:17And that's, he's heating up at the right time.
36:21And also, by the way, I believe they've announced he's going to raise a 450 at Motocross of Nations for Team Japan.
36:26That'll be an interesting one at Ironman.
36:27See how he slots in in his first race on the big bike.
36:30But on the 250, he's unbeatable.
36:33Joe Shimoda dominates 1-1 at Unadilla.
36:37And I'm going to just say he's unbeatable today.
36:41And I want Deegan to get motivated over what we just said.
36:45Today, Deegan will still be the championship leader, but he will not be the 2025 champion yet.
36:52Second overall.
36:54The out comes across second in the moto.
36:57Hayden Deegan will be second with the 2-3 in the overall scores.
37:00But the title will go on to Bugs Creek.
37:03Yeah, Julian was able to hold on.
37:05Oh, Garrett.
37:06Nah, Hayden did exactly what he needed to do.
37:08That's why he worked all year long to get that points lead.
37:12That's right.
37:13Can't win them all, like literally.
