00:00So final moto of the regular season overall way on the line Deegan and Shimoda gonna fight it out
00:13Davey's a little too far back probably to have any say in the overall today with a bad start here
00:19in moto two he's already done what he needed to do proved to everyone he could be just as good
00:23in motocross as Supercross yeah it's good brings guys like Levi kitchen back in so a little bit closer
00:33March banks that's right yeah Handmaker kitchen March banks thrasher will all be there here it is
00:53he made it hey Meg I like that little hand swag out there it's basically keeping him from going
01:00good job John he made it so there it is Deegan and Shimoda one two thrasher is third can Deegan
01:07reestablish the gap yeah do you think Hayden knew what Joe's plan was he came out that gate fire and
01:14then make sure he got through that first section because now he's got a little bit of gap and I
01:18think for him at least to keep Joe from trying to make that pass because he knows the only way he's
01:23gonna beat him if he's in front of him might have to be a little aggressive I think kitchen just got
01:27aggressive with thrasher back there for third we'll see who emerges it is kitchen so he's the big
01:33beneficiary here yeah I thought maybe bringing those bringing it in you know Joe and Hayden we know
01:38Joe's plan but I thought he brought back guys like Levi because that gap for almost 10 seconds they
01:43were back now they're right here so I'll see what Levi does with a better start everything's right in
01:47front of him all right so it's gonna be a showdown now but waiting for him probably feels like
01:53years since kitchen has seen the leaders early in a race what can he do with it yeah let's let's find
01:58out and if you think about season overall I would say at most races these are your three fastest riders
02:03um you know Levi's has a lot of up and downs march baits been up there but we thought this was
02:09going to be that fight for the championship these three right here
02:11and because seven minutes already clicked off the clock if you look at the upward left it's 22 seconds
02:21and two laps or 22 minutes and two laps left in this moto they're essentially picking up where they left
02:27off and so is Deegan as he puts time into the field yeah and I feel like with them starting that second
02:33moto it almost got warmed up and that break was long enough so they all feel recovered so it really
02:38comes out to about a 20 minute moto out here so you're gonna see these guys really laying it out
02:42they're fresh they're ready to go
02:44pass the mechanics area
02:49and gaps almost where it was
02:55can Shimoda hang in there whether this storm Deegan's throwing down
02:59yeah if I'm hating I know Joe is just a tick off and I know if you can override this track
03:04really easy we saw it we heard Joe on the podium said felt like he was the same speed but
03:09every time he tried to pick it up you would make a mistake and you lose that time so I want to put
03:13him in that spot if I'm hating Deegan just keep that gap make a mistake says we're gonna watch March
03:18Banks try to get around his teammate Seth leaned in on him this is for fifth and sixth
03:25yes but the yellow that'll go to be a bad day this should clinch third in
03:29playoff seating already for March Banks trying to make the move on a hat maker
03:34yeah Gary's tough spots all you can do is just kind of stay with him right right here
03:40um still a good good season for him he finished us off JT
03:44yeah for March Banks here he's got to be loving this staggered restart this is the closest he's been
03:49in the lead at the 20 minute mark maybe ever so for March Banks this isn't a bad setup at all let's
03:54see what he can do with it yeah the problem is he might not know what to do with it no like he's
03:59like I'm not used to being here but again I think that that um little pre Chris or eight laps
04:05oh Jordan's out yeah bummer to see Jordan and the triumph team they've had a resurgence this year
04:11good year um gotten better but yeah with Garrett I think he's already warmed up so maybe it'll be a
04:15little bit different than some of these other motos where it needs takes him a while to get going
04:19he's already had about 10 minutes of racing in this
04:22now as for March Banks I said that this already clinched now third in playoff seating with Vial
04:29out what it also means is he will definitely be third in the pro motocross series which is a heck of
04:33an accomplishment and if you take all the points together both classes he will have been in the top
04:4010 in points for the year and what that means is he's going to earn a career number so at the end
04:47of the season March Banks will be able to pick a two-digit number and he can run that for the rest
04:51of his racing career that is a heck of a season for the big man out of Utah who really took a chance
04:57took a one-year deal with Monster Pro Circuit Kawasaki his old team who invited him back one year
05:03to show what he had and boy has he ever done it third of the championship and could be more in
05:10in store once the playoffs begin but first he's got to figure out a way around ham shot or a hammock
05:17or what a battle game at chicken here I mean these lines they funnel in and it looked like on TV
05:23Garrett could have win hot but they're leaning in that bike there those ruts and he would have been
05:28taking a chance of taking him going down and his teammates so he knew he was going to get that
05:34position so good job by him sliding up in that fifth spot Nate thrashers about two seconds in front of
05:39him and Levi's about three seconds ahead so block the race board with Garrett maybe get on that podium
05:44here the kitchen had a big mistake late in that first lap because all of a sudden when they came
05:48around to the finish line area did not have Shimoda and Deegan in sight again and how about Deegan got the
05:54lead right back where it was in about two laps on Shimoda he is rolling out front yeah no he is and he just ran
06:02at 157.5 to Joe's 159 so he's really putting in put these laps in and now it's about almost four seconds
06:12and there's Shimoda can he even see Deegan though
06:16he's just close enough where you you can still see him you can hear him but again it wouldn't matter Joe's
06:25he's that rabbit that that dog that doesn't need a rabbit to chase he's going to go that same phase
06:30if he has it he'll do it he'll use it so he ain't going anywhere it's just um after last weekend I'm sure
06:37it's a little tough for Joe to take and sneak away a little bit now Joe has an offer on the table from
06:43Honda to return he had a two-year contract that was last year and this year it's expected that he
06:48will return it just not signed yet and there was some talk about uh well what could the future be
06:56for Joe because obviously they're pretty solid as a 450 unit there with the Lawrence brothers uh but
07:02Lawrence team managers said if it comes to it they could produce a third 450 slot if that's where Joe
07:07needs to go in a couple of years focus is obviously going to be on the 250 class and trying to win some
07:12titles over the next year or two for him yeah I can see them opening up that door especially if
07:20they're opening up that means Joe's obviously been winning titles or showing a lot of speed
07:24so that'd be a that wouldn't be really a risk it would be the right thing to do for
07:29the Honda they're smart enough Lars but he knows what's going on he knows how to win
07:33these championships he's done it with a lot of different riders
07:35they got a program that's somewhat unmatchable at this point in that 450 class
07:42well now post-race gonna have the live show the estimates insider post-race show will have a lot
07:48of awards beyond the championships included the manufacturers cup really Yamaha and Honda
07:54and this photo pretty much illustrates it have been battling all year in the one and two spots
08:00you'll get to find out who wins that there's also mechanic of the year truck driver here a lot of special
08:04awards and an atmosphere you don't often get to see live so that'll be a cool addition to the show
08:10so stick with us when it's over and you'll see both the Yamaha and Honda teams get their accolades
08:16for locking down the individual championships and more in the 450 at 250 classes Joe's still trying
08:23and Deacon's still pulling yeah you know but I think Joe maybe after that first moto kind of
08:28understands that look the harder I ride the slower I'm gonna go on this racetrack and you know I
08:34I'm a little bit slower than Hayden and that's that gap that Hayden's starting to slowly pull out but
08:39Joe really can't do anything because he'll lose more time if he tries to go JT
08:43he does it and you know I want to give Hayden some credit here of course he is your 2025
08:48pro motocross champion that says in enough in and of itself but there was a lot of celebrating going
08:53on over near the podium after moto one his family over there all everyone excited but he's staying
08:59engaged here he has stayed fully locked in he got the start he has executed through a red flag and his
09:04first couple of laps were the most impressive to me he did not allow Joe Shimoda to apply any pressure
09:10at all and he sprinted right away you just think about kind of where his head's at he's got a lot to
09:15kind of celebrate on a day like today but he hasn't shown even a flicker of not being fully locked in
09:20at the moment yeah and and just touching more on that that's his personality and I said one of the
09:27things that impressed me about Hayden is not that he's you know fast and and all the talent but really
09:32his his attitude and when you think about the background that he come from you know having a
09:37father Brian Deegan having his sister it could be easy for Hayden to you know be kind of lazy and not
09:45have anything to fight fight for but this guy rods as like a person that if he doesn't win he's not going
09:51to eat and when you think about this championship I knew he was going to come out firing his moto
09:56because the kid wants to win and he's not letting anybody have anything so not surprising that he's out
10:02here doing what he's doing battle box down there that's Drew Adams and Ryder DeFrancisco battling it
10:07out at the bottom Adams have made the pass then went off the track DeFrancisco takes the measure of
10:13him and it's Maximus Boland right in front of them shout out to Boland seventh in this moto and he is
10:19seventh in points not bad for the first what you consider non-factory team now Clubamax Muckoff FXR they
10:26get help from Yamaha as far as bikes but they don't have all the trip parts that the star racing unit that
10:32Deacon races for it does so for Boland seventh of points seventh of the moto it's a really solid
10:38season for him yeah well really uh solid he's a little over halfway if if he finished this off
10:45it'd be a good season and yeah even more impressed about him having someone to relearn how to ride a
10:51motorcycle um to go to do it for supercrossing to come out and do it again for outdoors um
10:56um just shows how much this kid wants to be out here yeah and uh we've been telling this story
11:02all year has to have both brakes in the head of ours front and rear because his injury to his hip
11:08some nerve damage of the foot can't really feel a break with his boot so he's had to adjust as you
11:13mentioned and we asked him about that adjustment I think a little bit harder on outdoors um we just go
11:21so much faster on outdoors when we have to stop a lot more and use our brakes a lot more supercross with the
11:25the bull turns you can kind of roll and you honestly don't need your brakes as much
11:30so I definitely found that it's been a harder learning curve on outdoors I feel like that's
11:34kind of where my results has come from like it's just been more of the learning curve so it's been
11:39harder for me to um be able to go as fast and stop as fast as I as I could before but pretty much
11:46figured it out now and got pretty dialed so it's just about putting in the laps and logging in the time
11:51yeah so it's tougher outdoors seventh and points even more impressive
11:56de francisco is all over him now into the second half of this moto to remind her that monster energy
12:03is available now some fight here from de francisco who's had speed and qualifying has not been able
12:10to turn it into good results in the motos but this is a encouraging side for him as he battles volen
12:17right now seventh and eight yeah I mean I I know rider d probably wants a little bit more and
12:23and obviously he has the pace to do that but you think about coming into the season and
12:27he's improved this year you know so even though the results ain't what he wanted I would say this
12:32this outdoor season has been uh an improvement you know now he's got his confidence fast and
12:37qualify you're starting to see him up front uh every weekend at least in the the qualifying and now
12:42maybe you can turn this into a good result well what's so hard to detect with these riders so he had big
12:46injuries in supercross internal injuries and i also want to mention kitchen you see uh hammaker just
12:52up ahead of that volen de francisco group kitchen had a devastating crash at the daytona supercross
12:59broke his neck actually now if you ask these guys they're gonna say that it's not a factor because
13:05the very first thing they want to do for themselves is not saying to the back of their mind but it's
13:10it's almost unfair you see them on the same bike same gear same look it appears they're 100 percent
13:16they might not be deep down inside even they're not gonna say it yeah and you know when you think
13:22about uh certain crashes and certain injuries are different when i go back to levi i feel like levi
13:28as devastating as that crash and anytime you break a neck that's gnarly yeah but the way he crashed
13:34it's easier to deal with because you like i made that mistake i know what happened compared to some
13:38of these other ones where you get landed on or something like that out of your control yeah then
13:42i think it really becomes in the the mind of these guys and so someone might be dealing with even though
13:47they have the same injury some might be mentally different because of how it happened i do feel like
13:53levi it's probably not in the back of his mind i think this is he really came in this championship
13:58feeling like he should be able to win wasn't even really thinking about the injury and um
14:04you know it's it's been a tough year but if he could finish this off in third place at least it'd
14:08be somewhat of a good one yeah just the difference with volant it's so obvious the the break situation
14:12you know what he's dealing with yeah uh these riders sometimes they don't even know because i've
14:17asked a rider that and he's like maybe it does but you got to not tell yourself that we finally found
14:23cole davies out here the first moto winner yes that's right he's officially credited with the first
14:28moto win after the penalty for uh shimoda and deegan but a terrible start for davies here and he is in
14:3520th place so if you're looking at the career results so far pro motocross you're talking three
14:42finishes of the 20s and a moto win yeah yeah i'm not really sure that's uh jt asked the question that
14:4820th the first moto win yeah well i really haven't seen this back the 20th so which one's the anomaly
14:55like the moto win or or right now so looks like march banks and caught up to nate thrasher this
15:01would be for fourth spot thrasher has a fourth at iron man in 2022 that is the only career top
15:08five moto in pro motocross to rider that's won a lot in monster energy supercross march banks is
15:15going for it yeah gary's trying to go but just to kind of go back to your point when you talk about
15:20your honor um immensely and getting over these injuries i do believe nate thrasher is that guy
15:26who's struggling maybe did some of these injuries smack in his mind because if we've seen this guy
15:31especially in supercross come out and just dominate and you see him in outdoors they only have one
15:37fourth place um and it's been years ago yes i think that's because of all the injuries that then
15:42caused up um that he's had over his career the last couple years march banks trying to get him here
15:48and we've talked about it all season no one has passed as many riders as march banks looking to get
15:53at least one more before the regular season is over yeah you know the track's difficult to pass if
15:59garrett only passed about 10 15 guys in the race so his average is down yeah his average is way down
16:07it's really difficult to make passes out here thrasher doing a good job holding off no changes up ahead
16:13kitchen shimota deegan now a 10 second lead well we were speculating about the different motivators
16:20for deegan today both to lock up the title to be safe but also to make sure he had the momentum
16:27going into the playoffs he has accomplished both with this big lead now yeah you know how important
16:33and you heard hayden on that first moto it's like when i want to win i win basically and
16:38and he came out here he knew what was on the line he knows nice way to send him into the break
16:46you've been riding good but that's only because i've been doing x you know so um nonetheless
16:52impressive rod
16:56it's impressive by pressure hanging in there relentless pressure
17:04march banks doing everything he can
17:08this track's tough to get around guys yeah right now trying to hold the center it's still loud enough
17:16jt we've watched here at march banks in a similar situation throughout the year trying to move
17:21forward we've often talked about how many riders he has but i just want to make a note of kind of his
17:26line choice he makes a huge mistake there but he's really going to the outside all the way around the
17:31racetrack and earlier this season races like washuga where he was really on form that's the methodology
17:37he was using he was doing basically everything he could to not touch the brakes to not break his forward
17:43momentum and oftentimes that means carrying it around the outside so he's kind of back to doing
17:48what he does really well yeah and and the only problem is is that the guy on the inside only has
17:54to beat you to a point x and then gary has to slam on the brakes so even though his lines might be
17:59faster as long as nate gets to the spot that garrett wants to eventually get to first um garrett's kind of
18:06stuff well you won't be stuck as the playoffs lube i got a deal for you from now until the end of today
18:16the motocross finale you can purchase up to eight tickets for the smx playoffs at ten dollars off
18:22so scan that qr code that'll pop up on the screen right there as you continue to watch this battle
18:28or go to super motocross.com and use the code smx3tv and ten dollars off tickets up to eight
18:36and that's available for all three playoff routes but it ends tonight don't regret it i would not live
18:43with myself if i let an offer like that slip away same thing with march banks he is not going to let this
18:50one slip away even chase that big uphill triple can he get back after the 41. i mean nate's doing a good
18:56job and exactly what i was saying you can see how much pace garrett has and the momentum he got but
19:02he's just beating them to the spot and a few of these corners you see garrett slamming on the brakes
19:08because he's catching them what he's going to have to do is get get beside him and some of these
19:13corners where nate's on the inside eventually garrett able to square it up and get back to the inside of it
19:18but he's got to be really close almost like a split lane section so march banks goes back to work
19:25that might be the last good battle on the track de francisco has dispatched voland he is in seventh
19:31voland's eighth masterful ninth drew adams tenth schwartz eleventh that should be enough for schwartz to
19:37clinch that top 20 automatic to the gate berth schwartz was close last year was riding through injury to
19:45try to stay in it just missed the top 20 and then uh his wrist was really bothering him chose not to
19:52line up for the wild card races this time schwartz going to get in you can just hang on for that 11th
19:57caden dundee who was so spectacular last week in his pro moto cross debut with a seventh in a moto a little bit
20:04rougher today he's in 13th place yeah march banks uh top 10 finishes despite the bad starts he's only been
20:15out of the top 10 in one moto this year it's unbelievable i mean it is but when you start
20:22looking at how many people he's passed yeah eventually he's got to go but you know you can't
20:28pass 20 guys and not be in the top 10 pretty much you got to be there but you know just looking at
20:33this battle and at one point oh finally yeah well that's how the line uh played out i don't think
20:39nate realized that he was that close to be able to get it but i was just about to say garrett was
20:44starting to sit up and if nate was being able to put in a good section i think garrett would have just
20:48been all right with that fifth place because nate um was getting to him but he wasn't and now garrett
20:55kept working on it and we got him back well that's what i've learned from you you talk about these
20:59battles on the battles all the time that two or three laps if you get to the guy and you think
21:03you're going to get him and then you don't the tide starts to turn oh it it turns all that confidence
21:09that you have catching that guy um and you're not being able to pass him it's a lot you're getting
21:14you're roosted all the stuff hurts and then you just start getting mad then you start making mistakes
21:20and it really just comes down to a few lines here and there how about that line yeah when that lap
21:26rider almost went down in front of deegan back to the leader this will be the end of his 250 motocross
21:34career not his 250 career motocross the nations and of course those playoffs upcoming but
21:41the numbers aren't going to say he's the best ever at this i know some other guys who are very good in
21:45this class but he has certainly lived up to any amount of hype that you could have piled upon
21:50this kid when he turned pro with what he did in this class over three seasons yeah i mean hayden's
21:56phenomenal and man i mean even this this second moto he's coming out with attacking and he's been
22:04this way since all day long and you think about the championship a lot of routers would back it off
22:08you know be more conservative well i love what i from hayden he sees the the big picture he's always
22:15looking towards the future and always knows that you know i don't want to give anybody uh any confidence
22:22because you know everything's something nothing's everything and i think that's the way he kind of
22:26goes about it he doesn't want joe taking any kind of confidence moving into this this uh motocross and
22:31he's leaving notice that um he was definitely the best and has been the best um and only time these
22:38guys can win is when he's focused on something else when he decides to he's gonna win yeah that's what he
22:44said and some of the stats some tell the story more than others he has been top five in every race
22:51in this class the last two seasons all of last year all of this year so obviously the speed and the style
22:59is going to get a lot of the credit but it's been the consistency more than anything jt that has
23:04powered this run it really has you know when you talk to hayden it seems like he's kind of racing
23:10against ghosts you know he doesn't seem like he's super concerned with the likes of shimoda or kitchen
23:15whoever happens to be on form he's racing against the riders of years that have gone by you'll hear
23:21him talk about he wants to beat jets records or james's records or any of those guys that's what seems to
23:27to motivate this kid and i think it's all about legacy right now for hayden digging and i think you'll
23:32see that play out in the playoffs as well yeah i i agree and it's that hunger that he has that's
23:40really gonna you know dictate whether he's able to to compete against jet lawrence because again at
23:45the end of the day hayden's great you know and i said this earlier what makes him
23:51down the different is his mindset and some of the things that other guys it might take him time you
23:57know three years to get used to the 450 we talked about earlier about revving the motorcycle how he
24:02rides it yes uh i believe his attitude is the way he goes is going to be his best opportunity his best
24:09that's going to allow him to compete instantly against jet lawrence we'll find out if he has the
24:15skills to be able to do it and and all that but his attitude will give him the best chance to go out
24:20and when he lines up on a 450 if everything else is right he'll make his he'll will his way because
24:26the way he thinks that he should be able to compete and win against that guy 18 up there and he's got
24:31quite the program built around him the lawrences certainly with the brothers you can see what they
24:36have done with their team and the type of program they've built as hunter says the people around them
24:40and it's certainly the same thing with hayden he talked about that supporting cast yesterday
24:45i mean you got your family we keep it super tight i feel like the greats in this sport have always
24:50had their family there um i mean people do it obviously without but family aspect is huge to me i've
24:55had my dad there my mom there and uh yeah my team the whole star racing on my team even though we're a
25:01massive team and eyes kind of get wandered we always uh figure it out so um got a good team behind me
25:07a good bike uh my trainer swanny you know he's uh he's always been there we need it so um yeah it
25:13takes it it takes a whole team to win these championships and also got a good credit to
25:17myself because i kind of go out of the way and do stuff a lot of these guys don't so um i feel like
25:22that's why i've been the most dominant to the rider yeah well said right there i mean it does take
25:30a team to to compete at this level you got the honda star race and yamaha but i also think it takes a
25:36special individual to continue winning it and that attitude you've got to have the right attitude you
25:41got to have the hunger you look at the 450 class jett lawrence has a hunger hey deacon has that hunger
25:49and these are the guys that continually always is winning there's the all-time list in this class
25:55you're on the top of it james but with this win deacon will end up tied with jett lawrence career
25:59wise for 250 motocross overall wins jt well it's going to be a couple turns from now but i just like
26:05the way kind of hayden's putting the track together he looks like he's having some fun as
26:09james talks nice jumping over the uh the hill at the top after the finish line and there's a double
26:15down you saw hunter try early in that 450 moto but it's right after the big uphill triple he's
26:20doubling down to the inside and listen he's got an overall win he's got a championship he's still
26:25finding new ways to go fast on this race track so i'll jump off here and let you guys talk through
26:29it but it's right at the top of this hill yeah what jt's talking about this is triple step up see
26:35if hayden does he goes a little bit wide stops a little bit now he doubles and he has to get that
26:39angle right so he's making one arch because if you come in at a different angle then you'll land
26:45if the front end's going to push you're going to make two turns so hayden's being patient slowing down
26:49hitting that angle right and the momentum he's carrying through that whole section
26:55that's why he's got a almost 12 second lead now back to the 450 next summer again the riding style
27:03people will tell you it's more of a 250 style is that a problem is that something needs to change
27:07can he play to his own strengths how do you think that will work on the 450 yeah it's not gonna be a
27:12problem no yeah i mean again the way if you're talking about revving the motorcycle and all that no
27:17that's not gonna be a problem if hayden isn't winning it's because he's just not talented enough
27:22i mean we know how good um that 450 class is but his mind's gonna make up the difference from a lot
27:29of this and what i was saying earlier because the way he thinks maybe some guys need a couple years to
27:35kind of adjust and there's gonna be a lot of rookie mistakes he'll hit the ground and all that but
27:39he's gonna go in there thinking that he should be and can win instantly and you know all the guys make
27:46mistake unless you get launched you just go perfect the first time you go out but i think he's gonna
27:51be there and if he has all the tools which that saw racing yamaha has proven to be a bike that's
27:57capable of running and winning championship just ask cooper webb um hayden's got every tool in the box
28:03that he needs to go in and he has the right attitude to go do it instantly going to be very
28:08interesting next summer him lining up on a 450 yamaha announcing that deal a couple of weeks ago
28:13250 supercross we presume it'll probably be on the west so he can defend the number one plate
28:19one last time but you're looking at the final lap ever for him on a 250 in motocross one of the best
28:25to do it two consecutive titles 14 wins but again we mentioned that consistency only seven motos ever
28:34outside the top 10 in his 250 motocross career over three years and that's a couple of bike problems
28:39uh first turn crashes even when he got hurt at redbud this year he still ended up in the top five
28:46overall yeah it's really impressive and over the last three years i mean hayden has he's number one
28:53in all categories whole shot moto wins all all that so it's not only you're just watching him cap off
29:00how great and dominant more consistent but this has been for the last three years and that's why i go back
29:05to that attitude once you become a winner you don't want to ever let that go and i don't see anything
29:11that's going to stop him besides him just not gent lawrence or those guys he's got a great watch
29:18first fiendom in a while amateur nationals at the riddle ends who won a title on 65 85s many seniors
29:24super mini into the b class right into the pros winning quickly winning titles keeps it going
29:29in the back of my mind i was thinking that's a perfect jump for a knack-knack and hayden deegan
29:42just goes out there that's crazy
