10:57saw a flash in the sky

21:48who knew him

21:58were doing things

22:16about John Powell
22:17and organized crime,

22:21without being involved
22:22with him.

22:28at anything they're doing
22:29because you'll expose wrongdoing.

22:35continually under surveillance.

24:47He was a little bit,
24:49had no direction, really.
24:50and he expressed great interest
24:57in UFOs.

25:02he wanted me to introduce him
25:03to John and so forth,

25:07And the thing is,

25:09he's been arrested before.

36:17about killing us
36:18was putting radium
36:20in our toothpaste.
36:23It almost sounds
36:24like it's just
36:25so ridiculous
36:26it's not believable,
36:27but trust me
36:28when I tell you,
36:29it was quite believable
36:31at that point
36:32I dealt with it firsthand.
36:34While this alleged plan
36:35to take out
36:35public officials
36:36may sound as if
36:37it were inspired
36:38by lunacy,

36:40cash bail of $350,000
36:42serves as a reminder
36:43that this is a serious
36:45case about attempted murder.
36:47I've been talking
37:03to my attorney.
37:05He believed that
37:07he had been set up
37:09and was organized
37:11and orchestrated
37:13by the Southern DA's office.
37:18I think this was not
37:20a conspiracy relating
37:22to UFOs
37:23or exposing the truth
37:25about UFOs
37:26or keeping John quiet
37:28about his views
37:29on UFOs.
37:30There was a conspiracy,
37:32and it had to do
37:33with local politics.
37:36District attorney
37:37was in some political trouble,
37:39and there was a sense
37:41that he might have had trouble
37:43getting re-elected.
37:45The three targets
37:47of this alleged plot
37:48would have had a lot to say
37:50about whether the DA
37:51was re-nominated
37:53and then ultimately re-elected.

38:03over his political future
38:05and played it off
38:07as a substantial threat
38:09to them and their families.

38:15handguns,
38:16that, as an old soldier,
38:17that gives me the willies.
38:19John was a gun collector.

38:22And he had over 50 guns,
38:24all registered,
38:26and they confiscated those.

38:30Not part of the warrant.
38:30And they were all legal.
38:32They also took all of his
38:33Lufon paperwork,
38:34notes,
38:35audios, everything.
38:36Everything,
38:36which was not listed
38:38on the search warrant,
38:40and they took everything
38:41they could get their hands on.
38:42It didn't take very long
38:43to realize
38:44that this was some of our
38:46worst nightmares come true.
38:47Ford was saying
38:49ludicrous things,
38:50like,
38:51we're gonna put radium
38:53in somebody's toothpaste,
38:54we're gonna put radium
38:55in Gazzola's lasagna.
38:57Does that sound like
38:58a plausible means
38:59of killing somebody?
39:00Radium is not
39:01an effective weapon.
39:02Even the government
39:03had said it.
39:04It takes years.
39:05And the punchline is

39:08and even if you do eat it
39:09by mistake,

41:01he could not form
41:03that criminal intent.

41:06to Mid-Hudson Psychiatric Facility

41:10they would check
41:11to see whether or not
41:11he was ever capable

41:13the charges against him.

44:13And he was convicted
44:14and he went to prison.
44:16A Long Island lawmaker
44:17cops a plea
44:18and resigns
44:19as part of an investigation
44:20into political corruption.

44:22legislator Fred Toll, Jr.

44:25to taking a $10,000 bribe
44:27and siphoning campaign donations
44:29for personal use.
44:30He faces two to six years
44:31in prison
44:32at his sentencing
