Hello and welcome, this time around we are going to watch a film from 1959 called The Great St. Louis Bank Robbery. It is one of those rare movies that is actually based on real events. So much so that not only are some of the men and women from the St. Louis Police Dept in this film but also residents and bank employees reenacting what they went through during the robbery. The robbery happen in 1953, and they filmed this movie not to long after in 1958. Talk about Hollywood not wanting to wait around. The mastermind of this robbery attempt is a man called Egan. An aged criminal who wants to retire to Mexico with his underling Willy. Next we have Gino, another criminal waiting for his upcoming trail and then there's Fowler, George Fowler. Never got into trouble but there's is that unexplain action that got him and Ann expelled from college and I guess broke them up. Ann just happens to be Gino's sister, hence what made Gino think of him. Willy on the other hand doesn't like George but then again too many cooks in the kitchen or should I say crooks. Gino doesn't tell Egan about Fowler being his sister ex because Egan doesn't like women. It turns out that Egan had a very bad childhood, his mother was lets say not the doting mother and Egan, well lets also say had had enough. But back to the robbery. Ann still in love with George figures out what's going on and foolishly decides to get involved, BIG MISTAKE!
After that, everything goes terribly, horribly wrong. I will not go into detail here, one would have to watch the film. It's ruff. Staring in this tale of..what did I get myself into, we have the one and only Steve McQueen as George, Crahan Denton as Egan, David Clarke as Gino, James Dukas as Willy, Molly McCarthy as Anne and many more. So lets sit back, make some Old Fashioned's or maybe some Gin and Tonics and enjoy. Again it's a hard film.

(This movie is in the public domain.he film was originally published without a notice, but most prints currently in circulation are later television syndication prints which had a super'd copyright notice on the end. The renewal would be effectively invalid on that basis alone, but when you add the renewing party "Film World International" was one of those companies that tried to renew films they didn't really own before they entered the PD, it is completely invalid. But if at anytime Dailymotion would like me to remove it, I will. I also have a small YouTube channel if one would like to visit...
