00:00I'm not here to make any friends. The process is not personal, it's business.
00:08Lord Sugar is on the lookout for a brand new business partner.
00:13It is a very competitive situation. I need to see who's got a good business brain.
00:20Fighting it out for his funding.
00:2418 aspiring tycoons.
00:28Not one of you geniuses ran this thing properly. I feel so angry. You're coming across a bit thick.
00:35At stake, a quarter of a million pounds.
00:40And a 50-50 deal with a business heavyweight.
00:45Your best hope for 250 grand is to buy yourself a scratch card.
00:50Come on, we've got no time, can't we?
00:52It's an investment worth fighting for.
00:55Why are you lying then? We've just had that here.
00:57Just bear with me, bear with me a minute.
00:59I'll have this conversation with you.
01:0118 candidates.
01:03If you don't think that what's going to happen is effective, you've got to tell her.
01:06I said it, tell her!
01:0812 testing weeks.
01:11This is getting really, really childish now.
01:13If I was a project manager, I'd be trying to motivate my team.
01:15So that's not cool, that's not cool.
01:17One life-changing opportunity.
01:20You're fired, you're fired.
01:22You are a loose cannon.
01:24You're fired.
01:33Previously on The Apprentice...
01:35I want you to launch a crowdfunding campaign.
01:38Ooh!
01:39The team's pedaled new biking products.
01:41I feel like I'm in Tron.
01:44JD's laid-back leadership...
01:46Chill out.
01:47Relax.
01:48Alright?
01:49...made him...
01:50Joyful, joyful ride!
01:51...the third wheel.
01:52Can you say something?
01:54A crowdfunding.
01:55Action!
01:56And his team...
01:57Stop!
01:58...hit the skits.
01:59One second, one second.
02:00Just cut it at the end there.
02:01Oh no!
02:03On the other team...
02:04If only you had a rumo!
02:07Samuel took the driving seat.
02:09Engaging the audience, letting them know what's going on.
02:11But his mimed PR stunt...
02:13Coming in, coming in, coming in now.
02:15...had his team acting up.
02:17Why don't you tell them the information?
02:19I'm not having this conversation.
02:21In the boardroom...
02:23Good team leader?
02:24No.
02:25No.
02:26...despite arguments...
02:28No strategy, no plan, no idea.
02:30...they took the chequered flag.
02:32You're a lucky man.
02:33...on the losing team...
02:35That's what I do, build relationships with businesses.
02:37...Rebecca almost crashed out...
02:40Let me prove that to you.
02:41I'm not sure yet, but when I am project manager, I will be on top of it.
02:45...but it was JD...
02:47I've made mistakes, I've held my hand up for them.
02:49I can't go into business with someone who makes mistakes.
02:52...who became the fifth casualty of the boardroom.
02:54You're fired.
02:56Now, twelve remain...
02:58...to fight for the chance to become...
03:00...Lord Sugar's business partner.
03:032.30pm.
03:04Does it look nice, or do I look kind of like Michael Jackson?
03:18...for the candidates...
03:20...a day of rest...
03:24OK, calm down.
03:26...and relaxation.
03:28What's he done to his face?
03:31What's the green one?
03:32Good afternoon, Carthic here.
03:34Good afternoon.
03:35Lord Sugar will meet you at the view on the 69th floor of the Shard.
03:36The cars will be outside in 20 minutes.
03:38Wow.
03:39What is it?
03:40Guess what?
03:41What?
03:4220 minutes on the 69th floor of the Shard!
03:44Taking us up the Shard, is he?
03:45Yeah.
03:46Nice.
03:47Anything about the waist mask off?
03:48And a brush?
03:49I didn't even know your shirt.
03:50I am a human iron.
03:51Really?
03:52I'm going to iron you out in the boardroom.
03:53I'm going to be here.
03:54Go, go, go.
03:55What?
03:56I'm going to be here.
03:57I'm going to be here.
03:58I'm going to be here.
03:59Go, go, go.
04:00What?
04:01I'll be here for the car to be outside in 20 minutes.
04:03Wow.
04:04What is it?
04:05Guess what?
04:06What?
04:0720 minutes on the 60th floor of the Shard.
04:08It's taking us up the Shard, is he?
04:11Yeah.
04:12Nice.
04:13Anything about the waist mask off?
04:14And a brush?
04:15so I think it's gonna be an all-nighter it's gonna require some physical I don't do for
04:33the hard physical labor man what do you do then if you don't do hard physical labor I
04:37eat I drink I make love that's what I do I'm a lover not a fighter
04:41I'm not gonna lie I really want to be project manager this time but yeah if it's within my
04:52skill set then yeah he made it clear that Rebecca's to be the PM but I think Rebecca
04:56feels under pressure she hasn't really got a lot of choice in the heart of the capital over 300 meters
05:08high the tallest building in the UK the shah
05:38good afternoon the reason I brought you up here is because I wanted you to see this wonderful
05:51panoramic view London is one of the most multicultural places on earth so for this task I'm sending you
06:00to purchase items some foreign and some British but all will be found here in London if you want
06:08to be my business partner I expect you to be good at negotiation but also to have stamina so tonight
06:16you're going to be working the night shift you'll need to work out where the best bargains are but
06:22most importantly when to buy them to secure the best deal I'm going to balance the teams up now Trish and I'd
06:29like you to join Nebula the team that spends the least amount of money will win and in the losing
06:40team at least one of you will be fired all clear yes make sure you're back here by 6 a.m. your time
06:49starts now off you go one night nine items both teams have business directories maps and 1000 pounds
07:04first thing to find team leaders I think the person that should be if the project manager should a know
07:13London and then all be really good negotiating I know London really well yeah okay I know so where
07:23we're going the time it takes to maybe get back here so yeah I'd like to be project manager feels on
07:29time heading up the other team I've got experience in negotiating normally with factories in China
07:37business owner Courtney I'm conscious of time then some places might be closing at 10 11 p.m. tonight
07:44so I think we need to split the teams first then decide who goes and gets what products we've got a
07:50clear strategy from the start get all the products at a good price and we've got a time limit and so we
07:55need to get the products first that we know can't be found early in the morning next door it makes
08:01sense to do it by location so that no one's wasting time yes I agree I know east so maybe if we we work
08:06on the basis that of the geography which would just make more sense don't worry if when you go in there
08:11you don't feel like it's good price to just walk out of there but you move on move to a different
08:15location you'll get it for cheaper well I think the team started very very well Krishna's strategy is half
08:21the team is staying east the other are going west rainbow bagels easy brick line bagel bar 100%
08:27also the team's got good knowledge of London which I think will be incredibly useful in this task
08:32does anyone know what a better paradise is next American ball cue goes like a place up that place
08:38new couldn't we read the shopping list a rambu tan fresh 2k so is that a fruit of some sort I feel
08:45like it's a bread do you two kilogram loaves of bread I just feel like it is it says fresh and
08:50it's got to be me because me it's what goes off fruit or vegetable does anyone think a rambu tan
08:57is an instrument number two that's a fruit in Malaysia Lenga is a dress worn by Punjabi ladies
09:05African black soap it's just a body soap that's basically black in color I think it originates
09:12from Nigeria for Courtney's team products confirmed is this original to James time to track them down
09:21um do you sell African black soap what time do you close today and just to confirm your address is
09:29se29sj okay bye bye so se2 that's London bridge that's this area here so we should be able to go
09:38there straight away nine o'clock driver we'd like to go to se2 Courtney's team hit the road I've chose
09:51these places because they're within one two miles from the city of London we should be done by 3 a.m. at
09:57this right still at the shard have you taken that picture Sofian snaps away at their first item
10:09do you who can turn the lights off on my team will be getting the pool cue and it's become really
10:17apparent what the bad influence in the room is that's a good one Sofian just gets up and does
10:22whatever he wants to do and then we've got against the printers switches you yeah all right I want
10:30us to get going so yes come back here you can make this phone calls on the way let's go let's go
10:379 30 p.m. are we just driving around we're heading there se2 it's taking a bloody long ride around
10:46many of London's traders start to shut up shop madam we're looking for to buy a lehenga we are coming
10:58over now how long are you open till okay okay so we'll try to be there as soon as possible bye you
11:06went super Indian okay I just switched on the Indian mode yeah Karthik's linger located the pool and
11:14snooker place that's kind of on the way Dylan decides on a diversion we are on the search for an American
11:22style pool cue 35 pound with a case we don't really need you know we just want the pool cue what about
11:2917 we were rushing to go and catch the Indian shops we're still not there these are clubs they may
11:36have been open till one two three you could have gone and got the langer and then come back I think
11:40that is a trick we may have missed 20 20 with the pool cue but no case Courtney's sub team pocket their
11:47first item next stop Lenga let's go do you make some cold sir come on 9 45 p.m. at the moment we're
11:57over here still on route Courtney we should be here Danny are we going to se2 9sg Thamesmead it's not
12:08even on here the map doesn't go out this far it's se2 all the way over here bloody hell
12:14all right babe East London yeah East London you've got no East London in Hackney leading half of
12:26Trishna's team who's this like the ghetto Paul local boy Paul this is not the ghetto this is like East
12:32London and this is really trendy because it's like Shoreditch away it's trendy yeah
12:36first stop a 24-hour bakery we need to buy 200 rainbow bagels can you do me what would be the
12:49price for that first it'll be a hundred pounds I really do need a deal I was I really can't buy
12:54them and we did have a promotional price before it was 30 pence now we can meet maybe midway 40 pence
13:02if you can give them to me for 35 pence each we'll have a deal and I'll count the cash out for you
13:06now is that alright yeah thank you very much thank you very much I grew up a mile from here so this
13:16area is my area and I know how to deal with people in this area I'm really confident me interest I
13:23think this is like the dream team if we mess this up this is ridiculous what I want to try and do is
13:29keep us East yeah it's mad running around in your neck of the woods off the beaten track finally
13:41arriving at the cash and carry Courtney's team and we're looking for black soap please so each is 150
13:50grams you say yeah okay so sevens what we need that's okay is it possible to get these for about
13:57five pounds please please what's the what's the lowest we could possibly get for the best you can
14:05get is 95 pence each is it possible to get any lower not even for this lovely smile right here it's not a
14:14great start they've wasted such a lot of time coming here for pathetic 35 pence off and put at risk
14:21getting the tajin do we call him back the tajin the tajin place yeah that place is closed wasn't it
14:30East London
14:34tech salesman Sophie Ann have you got computer you can have a look at the pictures are taken purchases a
14:43poster sized print of his picture would you say that's the best one it doesn't matter it doesn't
14:48matter what would you say I don't know I don't know I think Sophie and it's quite vocal with what he
14:53wants done same as it is their portrait landscape landscape okay but I've tried to tame him a little
14:59bit and I might carry on doing that as the task moves forward and what's the lowest you can give it
15:02to us 30 pounds 20 pounds 30 30 Wow really if you can do it for 20 pound for us 25 is done 24
15:16share my hand thank you first item in the bag I'm impressed with the picture I took as well because
15:22it was very hard condition where I took the picture so so far doing work how long does it take you to
15:27print a poster to enter 25 minutes they've got minutes yeah thanks to you shortly thanks a lot
15:32sure next target for both teams a traditional Indian linger outfit I went to an Indian wedding and I
15:43were a Lenga Alec you're pretty good yeah suspect Al Miran I'm Francis see how much is this one about
15:54two hundred and something pounds and that's giving me art attack for Courtney's sub team Karthik leads
15:59negotiations because I'm dealing with one zero this has two zeros in it you know it is beautiful
16:07but right now we are looking to help each other out okay you tell me what you want to pay that honestly
16:13speaking I don't want you to undergo a loss as well then I'm from this culture you can't just go in
16:17and be very abrupt like you are probably in the Western culture and going for a deal it's always done with
16:22a lot of rapport building in the beginning and then slowly you come to business so as long as
16:27you honestly say okay Karthik you know we like you we'll give this to you for the price we bought it
16:30for you will not get any profit from me today you want to take it out for today when we make no money
16:36on it I mean yeah so at the end of the day what this is is basically me asking you a favor how about
16:45the half price the best I can do for this one thirty percent that's it we can't go lower than that but
16:52just yeah I know as we're friends now there are two other shops just across the hall there which may
16:56be able to accommodate thanks I need to take care yeah for the other team right taking a more direct
17:05approach Francis something for about 40 and these are longer yeah language really is basically a skirt
17:11and the top yeah yeah right what's the best price on these we can do it for 30 for you I'm looking
17:18more about 30 and it's already from 75 25 you got a deal child size linger price tag to match 25
17:35quid linger in the bag I think we can smash this maybe even have an early night still shopping Karthik
17:44so I hear you're from Bombay India it's slow but that's how these things work in this culture we
17:51are looking for lehengas and you come very highly recommended I was able to do a little bit of as
17:55they say Haitian persuasion these ones are priced at 70 pounds Karthik's negotiation technique was
18:02basically Indian chit-chat what can you do for us as my sister what can you do for us all right I'll do
18:08about 60 for you 55 five pound I'll come up there was a lot of time wasted at the start rather than
18:18just asking where is your cheapest Lenga can I see it Lenga for Karthik Lenga landed I'm gonna make him
18:26wear it at over twice the price of the other team Bethnal Green East London waiting for their
18:39poster to be printed do you happen to know what a rambutan is no no no no no no I think it's fish
18:44Trishner Sofyan and Jessica spots a grill search the streets 10 Robusto cigars yes thank you we're
18:54only the hamlet cigar you don't have into some touching the one they put their meat in and they
19:00play we don't have their blood it's been probably a half an hour going up and down this road they've
19:07been much better off phoning specialists rather than wasting their time trawling the streets
19:11I don't hi okay how's it okay brilliant that looks like a professional photo Sofyan skyline poster
19:20that's beautiful that's beautiful secured it's going to be shops here which was so it's hard
19:27here this tagine this is not one of our items yeah but if we can get on the way there we go yeah but
19:32I don't think there's any point I'll just do a phone call we've got nothing to lose for the rest of
19:37the nutritionist team just call people I just needed to get on the phone and call numbers three
19:42items still to source I need a phone ringing I need you to be active you're right I'm definitely
19:49not being active sitting here ringing numbers put the phone down ring another number put the
19:52phone down ring another number no one's answering you can phone someone else please hello do you have
20:00any tajines in stock yes tajines ah brilliant do you also have any african black soap you do thank
20:15you bye a lead on two products hi Paul a supermarket in streatham stock both the tajine and the black
20:23African so on the other side of London okay so straight and you're going south yeah okay let's
20:32just keep in contact right all right perfect see you simple good luck bye so they've got two genes
20:37they've got African black so how did like to me he was saying you know yeah we do all types of soap
20:42yeah he said Turkish English but did he not did he actually understand what you were saying
20:46midnight
20:51for each item not found a fine we need to get cigars I know the restaurant in Belgravia so you want to go
21:05over there and then to Brooklyn next on Courtney's list 10 Robusto cigars even though Brooklyn's on
21:12the way the Brooklyn bagel shop is open 24 hours and if we was to miss out on the cigars because of
21:17that I think that'd be a bad strategy luxury cigars located in well-heeled Belgravia this task
21:26could be won and lost on this product because it could be an expensive item so just trying to see if
21:30if we buy 10 you could do it for 50% of the price okay I think feminine charm is never a bad thing
21:37hello I spoke to Dennis on the phone yeah I'll take care of you I'm a better negotiator than those two
21:42and I'm pretty confident I can get a good deal the cheapest one is 23 pounds 60 each okay we need 10
21:49but we we don't have 200 pounds to spend on them could you do it for 140 140 for 10 of them yeah they
22:05look like particularly good cigars as well and we would be absolutely ecstatic if you could do 140 well
22:13give me a reason come on help me out because we are lovely people who will really enjoy your cigars
22:20150 how about 145 thank you thank you very much amazing she didn't use tactics I would she was very
22:30girly a bit sort of pathetic female please let me have it for 1450 because I'm a nice person the guy
22:37I fell for it God knows why God knows how happy yeah yeah I am yeah it sounds like we're gonna win
22:45this task still searching the big smoke I'm looking to buy cigars Jessica the Robusto ones they're for
22:56me dad but he'd like you only smokes and type and I'm not from London George look forward to meeting you
23:02bye bye do you want me to make phone call because you obviously from up north in that opinion
23:06I don't think that matters off I think I'm doing it right on the phone but I just
23:12a late-night drinking den in Soho
23:16these are robustos oh brilliant the only thing is that like I want to go about five pounds
23:21some night how much how much are they it's 26 pounds each 26 pounds each for one for one wow just
23:28not got it if I had and he's the cheapest version of robustos and no this is 18 50 and could you do
23:36these for 100 then honestly you'd be making me dad a very happy man that would be absolutely so sorry
23:42I'm so sorry I'm just really stuck my foot down Jessica style in this particular instance was poor
23:48George please no it's for my dad I haven't got the money this guy was not to be swayed by a breathless
23:54voice one pound a pound I'm doing this because I need to get some sleep thank you so much George
24:02earlier on Trishner was quite adamant if somebody offers you a high price you just walk out well
24:07I'll tell you what you drive a hard bargain job Jessica wasn't moving from that place it's late at
24:13night and she saw that she was in a bit of a bind they paid a high price for that fourth item bagged for
24:19the patricianist team thank you so much have a good night thank you you two have a good sleep
24:23thanks a lot thank you that was steep just try and call this Lebanese restaurant hello hello
24:31do you sell tagine tagine tagine you know the dish you cook tagine in ah no don't do that bye bye
24:38the sub team they're on their way to a place that sell tagines it makes sense for them to just go there
24:42stratham south london following up on their tagine lead right back to your call let's get
24:52this done krishna's sub team at a 24-hour one-stop shop we need to pick up the tangine and the black

26:22been another team is it possible to order 200 bagels now what would be the price for 200 rainbow bagels
26:3650p each so that will be 100 pounds is it possible to do them for 40 people per bagel yeah right i can
26:43do it cool we'll have to go with that then um if we come back in one hour or you'll have 200 bagels ready
26:49perfect thank you ever so much cheers bye-bye thank you courtney has decided to make a deal at this
26:54bakery but he hasn't tried anywhere else that's annoying now he's got to wait around here for
26:59them to be ready and that really could impact on him finding some of the other items
27:03oh god at least we've got them
27:12across town
27:18let me out struggling with an all-nighter karthik so he's out the window because he's closed

29:41going to use them these were the ones down the bottom yeah you have them for five but you can
29:45give me three right now i cash them get them off your hands i'll do it i'll do a five including v80
29:51that's the best price i can thank you very much across town oh dear god it's four in the morning
30:00time is a cruel mistress courtney's team on the lookout for a landmark it looks like it's getting
30:07light outside so we need to take that photo courtney is incredibly laid back you would think he has all
30:13the time in the world there's no sense of urgency this is a limited time task i don't think they've
30:20realized that courtney come dawn one hour to go
30:28for trishina's team five items still to buy we don't have a massive budget to be able to spend
30:39so we were looking at spending probably more like 30 pounds on it would that be the kind of thing you
30:44be able to do for us yeah all right fabulous we'll shake on it for courtney still warm four thank you
30:53thank you very much just when you know do you know what a rambutan is it's exotic fruit i knew it was
30:59a fruit try the shop next for both teams do you sell rambutan yes yes let's call it 19 and i'll give you
31:06i've only got i haven't got the 50p on me okay two kilos of fresh rambutan i want to buy those from
31:12you but can you give me a little bit you said it 15 pan you won't go on it's anywhere else in the market 15 of this
31:18we're gonna cut it fine so we drive as quick as you can please back to the shard it's like light
31:25tubes with hair reminds me of something else actually oh jessica 5 15 a.m 45 minutes remain
31:37we've located the 10 flowers right perfect we've got to go south london we're gonna probably shave getting
31:44back to the shard and i'm talking five or ten minutes in it so what do you want me to do
31:53go and get them yeah go and get them come guys let's just let's just focus now we've got i really
31:58hope that we can pull this off final stop for courtney a 24-hour printers we need to get a poster
32:10printed the finished paper you've got in this what's the price of that we could do that for 11
32:14pounds can you do it for five pounds eight pounds if we do seven pounds that be 750 yeah yeah we in
32:24yeah that's all good do we have an eta on this five minutes from now we have 23 minutes left this is
32:33agony in it hi called about the birds of paradise flowers how much eight pound please you don't
32:44got any time at all to talk to me have you no you still have to pay because you've got to have them
32:50please you're in trouble aren't you i'm not honestly we're doing them for nine pounds all right
32:55there's police everywhere oh my god this is unbearable oh my god come on
33:15right we're running out that door guys go i can't look i can't look at how far we are to it
33:21floor it driver floor it ready oh my god come on guys where are they i don't know where they are
33:37oh my god they didn't make it back
33:50we've worked our socks off tonight or this morning whatever it is i'm so tired i can't even tell
33:59he planned as to where we should go but he did not execute that plan very well we ended up missing
34:03the autogen if this goes down to the wire and we lose it then godney will have a lot to answer for
34:09we still might be in this with a chance right when we got the linger didn't specify what size
34:15linger you had to get yeah so we got the kids linger it's even everywhere come on i really i just
34:20really hope with one i don't know i don't want to go back to the boardroom
34:29you can go to the boardroom now
34:43okay so nine items go and find them this task is all to do with not just negotiating but it's about
35:01logistics working out where you're going to go and get these things
35:05things and timeline and the timeline was essential in this particular case because of the fact that
35:13you were working all through the night right nebula yeah nutritionally you joined the team
35:19yeah and you were the project manager yes correct yeah you i think designate yourself to i'll do west
35:26london and he knows east london so he's going to do east london right so that sounds good for starters
35:32we look through the items try to figure out what they all were did you know what all the items were
35:36we didn't know rambutan after a few phone calls we found out it was a fruit it's spiky and hard on
35:43the outside but soft and sweet on the inside does it sound like someone you know current yeah i hope
35:50you're not you're applying no then that was me oh yeah tell me what you do next then so in the
35:56brainstorm we split the stir items i understand that you decided that you were going to ignore what
36:02was going on what they were talking about and just start concentrating on the photograph one of the
36:07items was a night picture of london obviously i work in technology i thought i'll get my head around
36:11the camera and that was a chance to take the picture where it was at the location
36:16okay carry on so we went to mile end to go to get the picture printed they said they'd stay open
36:22until 12 o'clock i thought it was a 24-hour service the one that they chose was not a 24-hour
36:27wow there are plenty of 24-hour printers in london and then wasted precious time getting sidetracked by
36:33going to cigar shops that weren't really cigar shops where did you find a cigar shop we found it
36:38was it was in west soho area we got that in the nick of time because they were going to be closing
36:42jessica started negotiating on on those cigars i heard from claude that the negotiation was you
36:47saying that you wanted these cigars for your dad and the bloke in the shop couldn't give a monkeys
36:53obviously the negotiation could have gone a lot better but it didn't and my criticism jessica is that
36:59it wasn't very business-like you used pathetic tactics sorry and yeah he was very stern on his
37:07price we weren't able to get him down at all what did you do we the whole point of this task is to
37:13negotiate trishner you were very very clear that if the price wasn't right you were going to walk away
37:18yeah you didn't yeah we didn't because we we once we'd seen it there we thought if we can't find it
37:23anywhere else we've obviously got somewhere that has it because you spent so much time at the printers
37:28and then all the wild goose chase for for tobacconist or whatever it was in the area that that set you
37:32off having to panic where did you go paul what did you do i know the area i knew that brick lane um
37:38would have the bagel psychedelic bagels and yeah they are literally yeah but yeah they they had them
37:43there they were so you bought you bought 200 of them i did buy 200 um we headed to um green street
37:49from uh brick lane and we bought a child-sized linger in that area there were a lot of wedding language
37:54shops when they start from about the 400 500 mark um we negotiated it down to 28 pounds
37:59okay yeah i didn't specify the size we were then looking for a tagine and the african black soap
38:07so i rang up spoke to a chap on the phone it sounded like he had both items to which i said
38:13what did he say yes he said yes he said yes i have all kinds of soap actually he was saying soup
38:18so we have a clue though not many shops sell soap and tajines well it was because it was an
38:23international supermarket we were kind of hoping it would be there it wasn't so you went on this
38:27fool's errand we did like the two ronnie's there's one you didn't ask him for four candles
38:33how long do you waste on all of that then you think that was a flower more from east london over to
38:39streatham which is kind of so you've gone from east london to streatham yeah all over the place and you
38:45run to get the flowers yeah because we're running out of time it sounds to me a bit of chaos but
38:53anyway titans courtney where did you start having worked and lived in east london area for three years
39:01and also negotiating with factories i felt that i'd be a strong person to manage this team for this task
39:06off you go then we i had to make a decision to go for the black soap or the tagine i felt that i
39:13should go for the black soap first because the wholesaler for that was closing at 10 pm did you
39:18get it yeah so um on the way there running slightly late was the first slightly slightly an hour late
39:24you were lucky she stayed open we were very lucky that she stayed open longer so uh yeah i couldn't
39:29find sc2s on the map so i thought it was next to sc1 but we ended up going to thamesmead further than
39:34the map actually went yeah cabbies in london they train on something called the knowledge you've heard of
39:40that have you i think you must have trained on the ignorance se2 is is as you found out a country
39:47mile away from sc1 yeah the reason you took the task on was because your knowledge of london
39:53wasn't exactly correct was it uh right what about the cigars i knew there was a steak restaurant and
39:59cigar shop in belgravia expensive there isn't it um yeah but i felt better off going to cuba i think
40:06so um i gave alana the opportunity to negotiate with them i was nice and charming and he liked me
40:13and he begged well i think yeah i mean please give them to us we're nice people
40:20we did get a good discount though was that due to your negotiating skills or what i feel like he
40:25liked all three of us and he wanted to give us a good deal you wanted to go to bed alan it was one
40:31o'clock in the morning i don't feel like it matters how you got to the end point i thought i was being
40:36nice and charming you got them because you were nice but that's not how business works
40:41okay next the bagel shop they had 200 rainbow bagels in brick lane they did have they did have
40:47yeah when we someone got there beforehand i think they were able to bake us a new batch i think the
40:52problem with that is because he had to bake them specially for you you weren't in a great position to
40:57negotiate correct yeah carry on we managed to get down to tower bridge just before sunrise and take
41:04the photo your picture was very good i think yeah i was quite impressed yeah so was i oh it's very very
41:10good yours was a bit dark next so we visited a turkish supermarket trying to find the tajine um but
41:19they didn't have one probably because it's moroccan no one got the tajine then that's correct mind you
41:26to be fair i suppose walking around in the middle of the night in london looking for a strong moroccan pot
41:31you could have got yourself into trouble anyway yeah carthic i heard you were very very pleased with
41:36yourself because you managed to get the uh lengar is that right yes logical so i knew what uh the
41:42lengar was i sent interest for a lady we negotiated for the lengar uh i still paid 55 pounds for it though
41:47didn't you yes we still paid 55 pounds i mean they had lengars from 20 000 pounds and so on and so
41:52forth okay granja after that we then moved on to covent garden market where we were going to get the
41:59flowers bird of paradise yeah so when we firstly got there um the man was charging us 21 pounds i thought
42:05this is a bit expensive then he did mention that he had two bunches that he wasn't selling because there
42:10was a little bit of brownness around oh they were still ah so you found some dead heads wilting at the
42:16back i sometimes find that in this boardroom so you got them for how much five pounds how was
42:25courtney as your project manager then good good yeah okay um but let's find out how we got on with
42:31these negotiations yeah the team who will win will be the team that spent the least amount of money
42:39karen let's start with you um well they bought eight items for 333 pounds and 11. they didn't get
42:46the tagine um so there's a fine for that uh which is 75 pounds so their final total for the night
42:53408 11. okay and claude nebula failed to get two items and were late the fines amounted to 157 pounds 75
43:06they spent 362 pounds and 80 pence making a total of 520 pounds 65
43:14right well done well you've been out all night so i'm gonna lay on a pampering session for you
43:26carol joy is a vip spa but you're not going to them they're coming to you so enjoy yourself have
43:33some rest and i'll see you on the next task thank you thank you that's how you do it
43:44four in a row francis and rebecca you're in the losing team again once again
43:52you're lost by it well over 100 pounds i think you know the drill by now go off and work out what
44:00went wrong here off you go
44:06team titans team titans i had a clear strategy was calm and in control of the situation
44:13now this looks like a party it might come across as easy but it's hard work making things look easy
44:18this is the collagen i must it's going to make you look like you had a good night's sleep
44:26another win two wins in a row makes me feel very happy it's always nice to win and get a good treat
44:30there you go put your back into it thanks simona that's great keep going i still have that fire in
44:35the belly to change the world the passion the vision however the way i behave inside this process
44:41has probably changed awesome thank you so much what do you think i mean the gentleman who did this
44:50has worked on hollywood stars you might be looking at the next one
44:58i'm glad we didn't get a tajin i don't think that's the reason we failed the task all you seem to want
45:03to do is get the tajin jessica owned the uh the cigar business hold on let me finish no no no you're
45:09not letting me finish i'm trying to identify where i was within the task sophie didn't really seem to
45:13be doing much all it was interesting to get this bloody what the hell is it called of course it called
45:18the tar a tajin a tajin i've taken the picture i said what what else do you want me to own you don't
45:23own it you put input and you continue to play as a team player you don't just own something i used the
45:27initiative to take a picture so i did contribute right at the beginning so i don't understand why she thinks i
45:32did not that whole journey was just a waste of time rebecca thought she's confirmed it i had to
45:37commit to going i don't believe that my one mistake led to the failure of that task if you make one
45:43mistake the entire team round on you and i'm absolutely sick of being rounded upon
45:47yes lord sugar yes send the candidates in please
45:59right five of the seven items that you bought were actually much more expensive than the other
46:18team so lack of negotiation the poster 24 quid you paid seven pound fifty the other team got it for
46:26where's the negotiation there yeah we've got we've got 20 off i mean
46:32when there's no recommended retail price the vendor can tell you you're getting 50 off if you like
46:37flowers you paid double pull cue 30 pounds against 20 and then this cigar shop negotiation
46:46do you think you alienated the bloke in the beginning by starting to talk about your dad and
46:51i'll please help me out in hindsight looking back probably yes but when i've negotiated before
46:56in sort of a face-to-face situation um i believe that using source of an emotional connection is
47:01easier to get what you want rather than going in with the hard negotiation well the thing is
47:07is that you've got a pound off right the cigars how many was that in percentage less than half a
47:12percent yeah no no negotiation there was that no your instructions were negotiate and if you can't
47:20negotiate get out right yeah seem to me you get there oh at least we found them oh all right i'll
47:26just a pound that'll do let's get on with it the strategy where did it go went out the window didn't
47:32it i think we definitely had a plan at the start we then sort of as the pictures were getting taken
47:37in the shard we just thought we'd be quicker to get that done and out of the way so we found
47:41somewhere that was only about five minutes away from where we were you could have gone to a host
47:44of other printers that were open all night long and left it as one of the last things that you can
47:49get any shop that is open 24 hours should go right to the end and any that is going to close
47:5710 o'clock at night we better get that first of all you wasted a good hour and a bit with this
48:03photography thing when you didn't have to yeah i know i understand what you're saying and you say you
48:07went west actually i've got my sat nav here you went brick lane which is east and paul is east
48:16stretton stretton is like southwest if i think yeah if i'm correct in my geography so it's like
48:23dodging all over the place like that
48:27the next complete and utter mess up is this soap thing obviously that phone call i did not communicate
48:33well enough to the chap what we were looking for i feel like that was one mistake which has been
48:38um blown up into the fact that we failed the task and obviously i don't have the i didn't know knowledge
48:43of london i didn't know where that place was london it's the product yeah you didn't establish whether
48:48they had the right thing there no i didn't and that is literally the fault i made in this task i think
48:53otherwise i was very much part of the team and francis and paul were in the car with me as i was making
48:57the call i do feel like you guys definitely backed me in terms of what the guy said on the phone when
49:01i'm about to embark upon an hour and a half round robin i would certainly decide let's make sure this
49:08bloke knows what i'm talking about so i'm going to spell it out black so african black so but anyway um
49:18sophie ann i'm going to go back to the brainstorm i have this vision of you kind of not listening there was
49:27a lack of contribution and i felt like it was just me and jessica doing all the work and you kind
49:30of just wanted to just go and find this tagine but you're making phone calls for the tagine before
49:34they had even not that we didn't even realize they weren't going to get it yet no they hadn't they
49:39hadn't they were they were on their way there because we were even before that this reason that
49:43there were shops there where we can bag the tagine earlier enough in the task i'm not the responsible
49:47for the failure of this task and you know who is that i think everybody's responsible in some aspects
49:51saying you are purely responsible but i just feel like who is then your next one you know it is
49:55obviously lack of negotiation because clearly see that we we overpaid for some of the items so um
50:00including the poster that you got
50:04krishna who bring you back into this boardroom i think i have to bring in rebecca because of going
50:09to stretton and lack of contribution from sofian so it has to be those two right okay francis paul jessica
50:20go back to the house um francis yes you need to be on a winning team one day i'm going to try on the
50:29next test law sugar
50:37right um i'm going to have a chat with these two we're going to discuss this task and then perhaps
50:43contribution that i've seen so far okay so step outside
50:49i think she lost a bit of control of this in the first half an hour they were off
50:56they lost the timeline not concentrating on retailers that would close earlier her main focus
51:02was negotiating and at no time did they do that it's a shame because it sounded as though she had a
51:06great plan but she obviously badly executed it sofian he has got some strengths but unfortunately he's
51:13not prepared to take the team with him sofian looks after sofian as far as rebecca is concerned i mean
51:19i think rebecca is very sincere and she obviously tries very hard i think people don't respect her
51:25yes lord sugar yes could you uh send the three in please
51:42rebecca the last time when you was in this position you said look give me a chance give me another chance
51:47let me be the project manager yep my background is not negotiation and i don't have a really good
51:52knowledge of london and when trishner moved over to our team she seemed like a very natural choice
51:56as a project manager you're going to keep making that excuse all along the second there's a task
52:00that is relevant to my skills which i think there might not be one now we may have passed them with
52:04the marketing task why you brought her back into this boardroom she diverted the team for an hour and a
52:09half where they could have been looking for something else that is one of the main reasons we lost the task
52:14there's an expert marketeer and you clearly didn't get your message over to the supermarket manager
52:19did you there were three of us in the car who all made the decision to go to the supermarket so although
52:23i did make the call the three of us did make that decision i think we've also lost the task because
52:28one of the items we paid 50 pound more than the other team which jessica negotiated and i'm surprised
52:33she's not sitting here yeah she offered ideas she offered suggestions she very much helped and
52:37supported in terms of what i was doing and i didn't get that from sofian you didn't cooperate you
52:41didn't work with us at all you kind of didn't just doing your own decisions you did no you
52:45didn't disagree but there was trying to source a place where we can get one thing touching that
52:50we didn't get and that's what this task is all about you i owned that item i wanted to get it but
52:54you didn't you shouldn't have owned that item you shouldn't have owned that item why did you own
52:57that item i understand it's from your background but we were working as a team and you were working
53:01in your own team and that's what it felt like i secured an item within within the first hour of our task
53:06so i don't get no credit for that do i no we didn't negotiate as well as the other team you accepted
53:11the first price on the snooker queue we did we got a third off so what it was 45 and i got it why did
53:16you suggest a price when are you asking what lowest price he would give you i should have done i i i'm
53:20not a negotiator it's not what i do just for my benefit then just remind me again what what is it that
53:26you do i've run a successful marketing and design business it's grown from no clients to over 100.
53:31all right so you don't think you should be fired for the failure of this task if i had to fire one
53:35person from this room although i love working with you it would be trishner because you were looking
53:39at geographical locations but not looking at what shops were going to be closing before 12 and being
53:45really clear with us about which one to get when i think we've seen that in a lot of tasks but in a
53:49lot of these tasks that i've worked with you you've always been the weakest link you speak a lot you
53:52you don't really offer that much relevance and on this task you when you're a marketeer you know you have
53:57to be very clear in what you're saying and you didn't do that lord sugar i work in a very cutthroat
54:00environment i i know how to hold myself i don't crumble under pressure i'm probably the only woman
54:04in this in this process that hasn't crumbled under the pressure and i don't feel at all that the that
54:08i should be the person that should be fired i think there's many people in this process along with sofian
54:12and rebecca that i am better than sofian you say in here your worst qualities you're too loud and
54:18impatient i come into this process with like a bit of a loud mouth um and i'm trying to sort of take a
54:24step back think a little bit slightly different but i'm full of ideas and that's what i like to do
54:28but you didn't offer any of those on this task so who should be fired for this task then well
54:32i would say definitely rebecca okay uh look i think i've heard enough of this and i don't
54:40want to hear any more from anybody um sofian i am concerned uh you know no smoke without fire
54:48that you go off and do your own thing perhaps that you've got no respect for others that you
54:52want to i don't want to hear anything my business partner has got to be somebody who can get on with
54:59people generally rebecca you asked for the opportunity to be a project manager and once
55:04again you didn't take it you are a good talker there's no question of that having said all that
55:10trishna i think the failure of this task lays firmly with the fact that the strategy was not adhered to
55:17yeah can i say something no no i find it very hard not to put the total blame on you
55:29it is difficult this was a serious failure on balance i've got to think about the people going
55:38forward in this and i also got to think about past performance and on that basis i'm going to have to say
55:48rebecca you're fired thank you it's been a great experience good to meet you camera and claude
55:55and sofian very very strong warning don't be an autocrat in this process okay you can go back to
56:22the house all right thank you i feel sad to have left i think other people in the process have done less
56:47than me they just happen to have been on winning sides at the end i think i went because i'm not a
56:53twat basically i think that's my downfall i haven't been enough of a twat
57:00so do you think rebecca's the reason you guys lost her task i think there was a few reasons
57:05sofian's developing a reputation with the wrong side of the table yeah just wants to go and do his own
57:09thing all of the time trishna is an ak-47 and she hasn't quite gone off yet she has major potential she's
57:15coming back she is definitely coming back oh my gosh what's happened then it was it was hard it
57:28was hard i've never seen that being in that position before lord sugar told me off and i thought let's
57:32say i'm going after this he's obviously seen something in you though different to all of you
57:36so i was brought up differently i've taught myself english it's not my first language however you're
57:41going to see a lot more business sacrament coming up you'll see the real soft after this
57:48now 11 candidates remain lord sugar's search for his next business partner continues
57:59next time i want to see some impressive sales
58:02teams all at sea trying to haul in big profits everything at 18 000 you need to come down
58:13i can just reach in and change my bra sales hit the deck are you into water sports at all no
58:21and in the boardroom i don't know where to even start storm brewing it's not a bad day
58:27it's a diabolical day you're fired take another look at the apprentice but this time with honest
58:36subtitles available on bbc iplayer while rebecca's taxes just dropping her off over on bbc 2 rod gilbert
58:43finds out what went wrong you're fired and what's it like growing up at an african-american school
