00:00Everton heading to the new Premier League season with a sense of momentum.
00:08As summer transfer work shifting from the cautious beginning to a more positive targeted recruitment drive.
00:15Under David Moyes, optimism is growing that the new arrivals can make an immediate difference.
00:21Moyes' first transfer window back at the club began with a quiet, calculated move.
00:27But recent weeks have seen business back up and running.
00:32His signing has addressed a clear need, adding quality and depth in key areas.
00:38With the campaign fast approaching, the challenge will be knitting these players into a cohesive unit quickly enough to make a strong start.
00:48The belief inside the Hill Dickinson Stadium is that this group can lay a foundation for sustained progress.
00:54Continuing the club's upward trajectory.
00:57For an in-perspective on Everton's summer dealings, we spoke to Will Rooney of Liverpool World.
01:03He notes that while there was early concern on Merseyside about the lack of significant moves,
01:09the tone has shifted with the quality and intent shown in the latter stages of the window.
01:14Well, on to Everton and in terms of the transfer business, obviously we mentioned at the start of the summer that it was very clear the business was likely to go late.
01:26They have made a few additions.
01:28I mean, let's start with Keenan Dewsbury Hall.
01:30I mean, he's a player who I think people maybe forget how good he was in that Leicester Championship side before Chelsea obviously grabbed him.
01:38I mean, Chelsea make a lot of big signings, a lot of signings in general as well.
01:42But, you know, to invest straight away in him was a massive statement at the time.
01:47To come down to Everton now just after a couple of seasons of being at Chelsea, I mean, that's a fantastic signing really on paper.
01:54He's got Premier League experience and hopefully he can bolster this side.
01:58I mean, how sort of excited are you for Everton's new signings to come and make an impact because there are still some areas that might need some improvement?
02:09Yeah, I mean, based off Keenan Dewsbury Hall's first appearance against Roma in the friendly, really, really impressive player who is cultured, comfortable on the ball, makes things happen.
02:22I mean, he's always so positive. He just wants to get on the ball and try and get the ball moving forward and would take it in tight areas happily.
02:31As you say, it didn't work out for him at Chelsea, but maybe it was just a little bit of a step too far too soon in terms of he'd just won the – he'd played for Leicester obviously in Premier League before.
02:42He'd won the Championship with Leicester and then he was going to a team who – that was probably Chelsea's strongest area of the pitch, wasn't it?
02:49He'd played for Leicester in midfield with Keiseido and Enzo Fernandes, Cole Palmer playing in the 10.
02:56It was going to be difficult for him to get game time, but he did play a lot in the conference league.
03:01He did play his part in the Club World Cup triumph as well for Chelsea, but it's a really good sign and 25 million is a real good fear thing for a player who will no doubt be a regular starter this season.
03:17You would suspect. He can play in multiple positions as well. He played just off the striker against Roma, but you can definitely see him playing deeper as well if needed.
03:28A bit of a difficult summer for Evan, which I'm sure we're going to come on to, but the business so far, it's been fine.
03:36Yeah. Charlie Alcada has made sense signing on a permanent deal.
03:41Tien O'Barry, I think a lot of clubs have been struggling to sign strikes this summer and Everton knew they were probably going to be down the pech on order in terms of what ones they could bring to Merseyside.
03:55And they've decided to go for one who they think has a lot of potential, scored goals in La Liga, so he has top-flight experience.
04:05And, yeah, he showed good signs as well against Roma.
04:09Mark Travers has come in in goals, deputized for Jordan Pickford.
04:13He's definitely more of an attacking left-back, and maybe he'll dovetail Mikhelenko in terms of what's needed to certain games.
04:23If you're going away to an Arsenal or a Liverpool, you play Mikhelenko.
04:27If you're playing at home against a Burnley, you know, it might be more difficult to break down than your player has to.
04:34But, yeah, Everton's business is definitely not done yet, and what we all knew was going to be a significant summer.
