00:00Now Everton head into the new Premier League season with cautious optimism after a transfer window that gained momentum in its later stages and as the stadium move has now been completed.
00:14David Moyes spent much of the summer navigating a patient period as initial targets proved hard to secure.
00:22However, late additions to the squad have provided a much needed boost with signings aimed at injecting experience, energy and competition into a team that showed signs of fatigue and inconsistency in recent campaigns.
00:36If Moyes can successfully integrate the new arrivals with his existing core, Everton have the potential not only to consolidate their Premier League status, but also to mount a push to the top half of the table.
00:51For more perspective on Everton's prospects, we spoke to Will Rooney of Liverpool World.
00:55He noted that the blend of Moyes' tactical pragmatism and the fresh energy within the squad could see the Toffees produce some standout moments throughout the campaign.
01:06Yeah, I mean, in terms of Everton's sort of overhaul, in terms of outgoings this summer, it's been quite a fair number.
01:15But also, if you look throughout the squad now, there's way more sort of numbers like 22 or 24, those sort of younger age across the entire squad.
01:25You've obviously got Idrissa Gueye, you know, 35 and Michael Keane, Tarkovsky, Pickford experienced heads.
01:33But suddenly after this summer, there is some younger players coming through.
01:37I mean, this is only really positive for David Moyes.
01:40He's got the experience, but he's got some younger talent as well coming through.
01:43Who do you think can maybe stand out in terms of, you know, sort of breakout campaign?
01:49Obviously, we touched before on Nathan Patterson and Jake O'Brien as well.
01:55They had fantastic sort of seasons when they had to last season, but maybe a bit less pressure on them this year.
02:00Well, Nathan Patterson's a funny one because I don't actually think David Moyes quite fancies him, to be quite frank.
02:11He has a mixed bag in pre-season.
02:13He's actually been assessed for a hernia, but yeah, I think Jake O'Brien will be the starting right back there, which it's not ideal.
02:25I think you still want to get a right back in because O'Brien is a centre-back by trade, but he did well when Moyes came in, as you say.
02:34He could really kick on again this season.
02:39I think you're looking at someone like a James Garner.
02:43What can he go and do this season?
02:45Can he really kick on because he's shown ability, obviously come through the ranks at Man Utters,
02:50but his Evan career has stussed somewhat, injuries haven't helped.
02:57Tiano Barry is only 22, so it'll be interesting to see his developments.
03:03A lot of eyes on Harrison Armstrong, the 18-year-old midfielder.
03:07You would like to think that he will go out on loan once Evan can get more bodies through the door
03:12because he needs to play week in, week out.
03:17There's the temptation to keep him around the squad because he will be a real asset.
03:21He could learn every day, but I think he'd be better from playing every week.
03:26I'd say maybe for Timur Abunum as well, who has shown glimpses.
03:31Where is his best position?
03:35I still don't know where his best position is in that midfield.
03:38And Yusef Chimiti as well has caught the eye last summer in pre-season,
03:45but he had injuries then and he hasn't done too much during the current pre-season.
03:52So there are some question marks over a lot of them.
03:56If you're looking for the two standout ones, maybe you're looking at an Asnui and an Armstrong
04:01who could play a real part in Evan's future.
04:05But, yeah, I think that there are questions to be asked around Chimiti, around Iwabunum.
04:12Sorry, Barry's another youngster.
04:13He's 22, 23.
04:15Maybe he's just a little bit older, but it'll be interesting to see how he develops.
04:19And as I say, James Garner has got a real pivotal season for me.
04:23I think he's into the last year of his contract potentially.
04:26So is he going to go and earn himself a new deal at Everton?
04:30Because there is a lot of potential, a lot of qualities that can add something.
04:35But a lack of consistency and injuries have meant his Everton career has been a little bit stuttering.
04:42For more information, please visit, Dave.
04:51I don't know.
04:52So does it mean that he's a great guy.
04:53I don't have a gentle and He's been a great guy.
04:54Because he's just a little person.
04:55But he's always a guy that I don't know.
04:57But he's a great guy.
04:58And he just tells him what another world.
05:00He's got a great guy.
05:00He's got a nice guy.
05:01I'm not really a poor guy.
05:03But he's got a great guy.
05:04So does it mean that he's just a good guy.
05:06But he's got a nice guy.
05:08I really don't know.
05:09So I don't know.
