00:00Now, as Everton prepare for a pivotal summer window, attention is firmly on David Moyes
00:08and the ambition he has, bringing his second spell on Merseyside.
00:12Having stabilised the club in recent months, Moyes is now setting his sights higher, aiming
00:17to turn Everton from survivors into challengers once more.
00:21Taking over a squad low on confidence and identity, Moyes has brought structure, resilience
00:26and a renewed sense of purpose, but he knows consolidation isn't enough.
00:32This summer represents a vital opportunity to reshape the squad in his image, with a focus
00:37on adding quality, experience and leadership in key areas.
00:42Replacing short-term fixes with long-term planning will be crucial.
00:46Moyes is expected to lean on his trademark discipline and eye for undervalued talent, but the market
00:52will be demanding.
00:53I think Everton must be bold but smart, particularly as they look to improve creativity and depth
00:59across the pitch.
01:01We caught up with Will Rooney of Liverpool World to assess what lies ahead for the Toffees.
01:09Will, looking at Everton and in terms of their summer plans, I would mention it's also going
01:13to be a few big changes around the stadium move to be completed as well.
01:18David Moyes' first summer window back at the club.
01:20In terms of Liam Dillap, obviously he's going to be on a lot of Premier League clubs' radars.
01:27He's had a great season at a real struggling side this season and that relegation release
01:32clause as well, which will come into place likely in terms of Ipswich.
01:37Do you feel Everton should go all out for the likes of Liam Dillap?
01:41How do you think they should navigate this summer transfer window?
01:44Because a striker who can score double-figure goals is so important.
01:50Obviously, that lacked with Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the last couple of seasons.
01:55Yeah, well, Everton, as things stand, Will needs a striker.
01:59They're going to have two senior options out of contract, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Armando
02:05who is probably going to go back to Chelsea.
02:09Calvert-Lewin has had his ups and downs at Everton, has his injury issues now.
02:17Do Everton look and go in a different direction instead?
02:21The thing with Liam Dillap is to say, can Everton, if they do like him, can they persuade him
02:28that Everton are the club?
02:30Does he want to fast-track his career and go to maybe a Chelsea or a Man Utters?
02:36But why do you want to go to Man Utters at the minute?
02:39If you go to Everton, you know you're going to be playing a lot of football.
02:45Still only 22.
02:47Everton have got a history of developing strikers.
02:49They, you know, like to Romelu Lukaku when he scores how many goals for Everton
02:54and got a big move to Man Utters on the back of that.
02:57If David Moyes can convince him that he is going to be leading the line,
03:03he will improve, he won't stand in his way in a few years if a massive club comes on.
03:10And Everton are a massive club himself.
03:11You don't know what Everton are going to do in the next couple of seasons
03:15if they're taking an upward trajectory, start challenging for Europe.
03:18That's the aim under David Moyes.
03:20So, you know, the pull and power's there.
03:22Say, De Lappi's only had one year in the Premier League, scored 12 goals for Ipswich.
03:27But he does look like a sort of centre-forward who David Moyes would like, you know.
03:31Someone who can bully defenders, someone who can give you a focal point,
03:37but someone who can score goals as well.
03:39He's shown that this season.
03:42And if they want one instalment to £30 million, then it might be difficult for Everton to pay it out of front.
03:51But can they pay an instalment?
03:53I don't know.
03:54Well, if I was Liam De Lappi when you were 22, you've got to make your next move.
04:02You've got to consider it.
04:03Do you want to go to Man Utd and get swallowed up potentially?
04:07Look at Rasmus what you're installed there.
04:10Or do you want to go to a team that you know you'll be playing week in, week out with a manager who really admires you?
04:16So, if Everton like him, you could see the benefits of him moving, but it's just the fact that whether they spend a lot of that budget,
04:27because Everton, they need a striker, they'll need wingers, might need a centre-half, might need another left-back, midfield.
04:37So it's whether Everton go all out on one player or they have to manage the budget accordingly.
