00:00:32follow me on social media thank you for watching it's America now and forever Jesse waters takes it
00:00:37from here we begin this morning with a Fox News alert a manhunt underway for this suspect linked
00:00:47to a quadruple murder in Tiptonville Tennessee that has shot the small town community there
00:00:52police say he's armed invaders and right next door in Arkansas the man charged with killing an
00:00:58innocent mother and father at Devil's Den is set to appear in court today the shocking details on
00:01:05what he told police about that fatal attack I just know that that he did indicate that he had committed
00:01:11the murders I would call it an admission plus President Trump's new tariffs set to take effect
00:01:18in just a matter of hours with some countries getting hit harder than others we'll tell you
00:01:23what it means for your bottom line and she's back Kamala Harris is out with a brand new book and vowing
00:01:29to stay in the fight but she also is dodging a critical question regarding the future of the
00:01:35Democrat party what question is that we will tell you about it coming up you're watching Fox and
00:01:40Friends first here on a Friday morning I'm Todd Pirro and I'm Carly Shimkus we begin with a Fox News
00:01:45alert President Trump announcing historic new tariff rates that are soon set to take effect
00:01:50around the world Madeline Rivera live in Washington with the details today is the day matter
00:01:56hi good morning Carly and Todd so these new tariff rates are set to take effect right after midnight
00:02:01on August 7th the tariff rates range from 15 to more than 40 percent the White House maintains the
00:02:08tariffs will reverse trade deficits with U.S. trading partners even ask economists continue to warn about
00:02:14inflation a senior administration official says the higher the deficit is with the country
00:02:18the higher their rate is the president though is raising the rate on Canada from 25 to 35 percent
00:02:25accusing Canada of failing to curb the flood of the fentanyl and other drugs and that takes effect
00:02:30today the president also spoke about his other frustrations with Canada well they have to pay a fair
00:02:37great it's all it's very simple they have been charging very very high tariffs to our farmers
00:02:44some over 200 percent and they've been treating our farmers very badly they've been treating our
00:02:50country very badly for years and look we we like Canada I love Canada I have so many friends in Canada
00:02:58but they've been very poorly led Canada's Prime Minister Mark Carney is responding saying while we
00:03:05will continue to negotiate with the U.S. on our trading relationship the Canadian government is laser
00:03:11focused on what we can control building Canada strong we can give ourselves more than any foreign
00:03:17government can ever take away Carney also says Canada accounts for one percent of fentanyl imports
00:03:22meantime Mexico is getting an extension the president saying we will be talking to Mexico over
00:03:27the next 90 days with the goal of signing a trade deal somewhere within the 90-day period of time
00:03:33or longer AC administration official says Mexico has shown a level of constructiveness that's been
00:03:39helpful that official also saying they have more deals ahead but they did not want to get ahead of
00:03:44the president call the end all right Madeline Rivera live for us in Washington Maddie thank you
00:03:48in just a few hours the man arrested for killing a couple at Devil's Den State Park in Arkansas is
00:03:54set to appear in court and authorities are now saying the suspect admitted to the fatal attack
00:04:00our suspects DNA has been a positive match to the DNA that we suspected to belong to our suspect at the scene
00:04:11during an interview with investigators the suspect indicated that he did commit these murders I can't
00:04:19tell you that we have no reason to believe that there was any known association between our suspects and
00:04:28our victims there's nothing to indicate that at all it appears to be a completely random event
00:04:34police also revealing that father David Brink was attacked and killed first while his
00:04:41wife Kristen led their two daughters to safety she then returned to try and help her husband where
00:04:46she too was murdered Fox News contributor and criminal defense attorney Donna Rotuno joins me now Donna
00:04:51thank you so much for joining us what a horrific story here so we have a confession and a DNA match we do
00:04:58not have a motive and as you just heard investigators do not believe that this suspect knew this couple so
00:05:02do you think that this was a random act of horrific violence good morning Carly it definitely appears so
00:05:10I mean here we are watching this they seem to have made a very swift arrest the investigation seemed to
00:05:16proceed very quickly and there's been absolutely zero indication that these parties knew each other in
00:05:22any way shape or form and it's just very difficult for anybody to understand how you can be out on a path
00:05:28and have these horrific things happen to you while your children are are right there yeah and just to
00:05:33look at his new mugshot and to think that this man was an elementary school teacher and he targeted and
00:05:39killed a couple who was with their young children at the time and we do have some more information on his
00:05:46teaching career the mother of one of his former students is speaking out describing him as the most
00:05:51standoff teacher she has ever met she also says you could ask him a question and he would give you a
00:05:57one word answer overall just pretty disinterested in his students however he was placed on leave and
00:06:02investigated for inappropriate behavior with his fourth grade little girl students and it was found that he had
00:06:11acted in poor judgment and he later resigned from that teaching job so what do you think
00:06:15about those details you know I think those details let us delve a little bit deeper into maybe his psyche or his you know
00:06:23psychological state or where he was I mean you can look at photos of him and he looks definitely standoffish or
00:06:29detached in the photos that we have seen I of course am no doctor but just in looking at him I think there's a vacant look in
00:06:37his eyes and you know it's it's sort of reminiscent of what we just saw in Kohlberger not a lot of feeling not a lot of
00:06:44emotion and so you know I'm wondering if we're going to find out that there is a history there of of possibly disorders and or
00:06:51diagnoses but it's it's awfully horrific to think that this could happen especially someone that spent a
00:06:58significant amount of time around young children yeah that's right and people are making the links
00:07:03between him and Brian Kohlberger and you can see why also with the stabbing nature of the deaths so
00:07:10the investigators identified McGann as a suspect and then caught him at a barber shop about an hour later
00:07:18and one of the investigators said that everyone speculates that there was a lot of thought that
00:07:21went into this to conceal his identity but on the other side of that he was very sloppy and now they're
00:07:28saying that they're going to give the jury the option to sentence this suspect to the death penalty
00:07:34so what happens moving forward well in in terms of states where the death penalty is available again
00:07:40I said this during Kohlberger if your state has the death penalty what other time is it more appropriate
00:07:46to use than in a case like this I mean this is just absolutely horrible two children watch their parents
00:07:52you know die basically so this is just a spot where I think the death penalty is appropriate to seek
00:07:59the question becomes will a jury make the determination that he should die and I think that's when we're really
00:08:05going to find out more about his history his mental state because if there are issues sometimes that will
00:08:12you know sway a jury to to possibly say we won't put him to death but in terms of asking for it
00:08:17it's appropriate for the prosecutors to do so yeah and one of the lead investigators said that in all
00:08:21of her 27 years this is one of the most heinous attacks and crimes that she has ever witnessed especially
00:08:27given the extreme random nature of it horrific story Donna Rotuna thank you so much for joining us this morning
00:08:33thanks carly arkansas governor sarah huckabee sanders will join fox and friends later this morning to
00:08:39discuss just a shocking case to another one now a fox news alert manhunt underway right now in tennessee
00:08:46for austin robert drummond a suspect in a quadruple murder chanley painter joins us now with the very
00:08:52latest hi chanley hey carly and todd so police are offering a 15 000 reward right now for information leading
00:08:59to the arrest of this man 29 year old austin drummond wanted for first degree murder aggravated
00:09:06kidnapping and weapons charges after police say he murdered four family members found tuesday
00:09:11afternoon in a remote area of northwest tennessee just hours after an infant belonging to two of those
00:09:17victims was found in a car seat in a front yard in a random person's home more than 30 miles away
00:09:24it was that discovery of the infant that set off this investigation that led police to learn
00:09:29the baby's relatives had not been seen for or since the night before and police eventually finding
00:09:34their bodies in the woods tuesday including the infant's parents james wilson and adriana williams
00:09:40the infant's grandmother courtney rose and the infant's uncle braden williams authorities making
00:09:45clear quote at this time drummond remains at large and should be considered armed and dangerous they
00:09:50also say he might have altered his appearance and is believed to be driving this 2016 audi a3 with
00:09:57tennessee license plates drummond was just released from prison actually last september spending 13 years
00:10:04behind bars on convictions of aggravated robbery and retaliation but he picked up new charges of
00:10:09attempted murder and drug crimes while he was incarcerated drummond was out on bond on those charges at the
00:10:15time of this alleged quadruple killing and so far authorities haven't revealed how the victims died
00:10:22or identified a possible motive guys all right chanley painter live for us chanley thank you

00:17:39interview that he believes the punditry and democrats in congress overreacted after joe biden's
00:17:46disastrous debate mr donilon stated that joe biden's communication skills got stronger throughout his
00:17:53time as president carly your thoughts uh the source also saying donilon told the panel that he was paid
00:18:00four million dollars to work on biden's 2024 campaign and would have gotten another four million
00:18:06if joe biden had one wow speaking of democrats former president biden back in the spotlight at the
00:18:12national bar association gala in chicago which is the nation's largest and oldest network of
00:18:18predominantly black attorneys and judges and biden not missing a chance to throw another dig
00:18:23at president trump not since those tumultuous days in the 1960s has this fight been so existential
00:18:31to who we are as a nation with marginalized groups so dramatically under attack my friends we need
00:18:41to face the hard truth of this administration it has been to ease all the gains we've made
00:18:49in my administration to erase history rather than make it to erase fairness equality to erase justice
00:18:58itself chicago resident and director of the community round table kata trust joins me now before we
00:19:04continue carly bless you are you seeing marginalized groups including black americans under attack
00:19:11during donald trump's first six months in office kata the fact of the matter is uh we have been under
00:19:18attack and when i say we i mean marginalized groups people of color more so under this democratic
00:19:26regime than we've ever been in the past and we are still suffering the effects of the democratic party
00:19:34one of the reasons that i left the democratic party is because i got so tired of the rhetoric such as
00:19:40that that we have been hearing telling us that you guys are the best for us you have provided the best
00:19:47services for us let me tell you something here in um chicago which is a democratically run city has been for
00:19:55a long time we have watched um our city disintegrate underneath the democratic party and the current
00:20:02leadership is no different right now we are watching our mayor attempt to tax the wealthy uh we've seen
00:20:09these measures happen before we know that they don't necessarily work i think that's why as elected
00:20:15officials you have to be careful of the promises that you make while you're on the campaign trail
00:20:20because taxing the wealthy is not going to be what brings us out of the budget deficit he's going to
00:20:26have to look at raising taxes in spite of the fact that he promised us he would let's get into what you
00:20:31just said the chicago tribune actually slamming your mayor mayor brandon johnson arguing his policies
00:20:37will force business out of the windy city and to the specific thing that you mentioned the article
00:20:43saying quote the city ought to be in the business of encouraging the private sector to employ more
00:20:48people not giving businesses more reasons to reduce their head count by once again focusing only on
00:20:55economically destructive taxes johnson risks a reprise of last year's 11th hour budget crisis
00:21:01and this is all about a corporate head tax which taxes businesses based upon the number of people
00:21:06that they employ all to close this budget deficit that you mentioned to me that's a recipe and i think
00:21:13you would agree for driving businesses out of chicago if you're taxing them for employing people
00:21:19that's going to drive the businesses away and they're going to employ less people i mean the ones
00:21:23that stay are going to employ fewer people so is this the moment where chicago residents
00:21:27say look we're done with democrats it's time to bring in republicans to fix this fiscal mess
00:21:35well i think that one of the things that we're saying here in chicago is that we're definitely
00:21:40tired of what we're currently seeing and we need something different and those changes you know
00:21:46may be democrat i mean republican or it may be independent candidates but certainly it is not going
00:21:52to be to the guise of the democratic party we've seen that fail and when you talk about you know one
00:21:59of the reasons i think that our mayors have been so welcoming to some of the uh migrants here in chicago
00:22:06is because so many people are leaving chicago because of safety because of rising costs and the
00:22:12fact that people are just not happy with the school system and so by raising the taxes on the wealthy
00:22:19and keeping them from being able to really employ people is just going to cause not only those
00:22:25businesses to leave but also more citizens to leave if he hadn't given hundreds upon hundreds of
00:22:31millions of dollars to the illegals and had given that money to the residents that live breathe work
00:22:36die in the city of chicago maybe he wouldn't be in the budget deficit that he is and maybe he wouldn't
00:22:42have people fleeing got a trust thanks for staying on this we appreciate as always have a great weekend
00:22:47all right now to a fox weather alert heavy rain causing flash flooding across the northeast yesterday
00:22:52with some areas experiencing up to five inches of rain within just three hours officials in multiple
00:22:58states conducting water rescues sadly one 13 year old boy dying in maryland if he was swept into a
00:23:04drain pipe a state of emergency was declared in parts of new jersey and new york city with floods
00:23:10even trapping a semi-truck and other vehicles on a highway meteorologist and adam claus is here
00:23:16with our fox weather forecast hi adam hey good morning guys horrible situation still just a couple of
00:23:21light showers out there all from that exact same system that swept through yesterday really yesterday
00:23:26evening through the overnight hours we're just on the back side of the system now so nothing heavy
00:23:29still remaining out there but it was a big one how much rain were we ultimately talking about
00:23:34todd said five inches but you see widespread here anytime you see these yellows and oranges you're
00:23:38getting up to that two to three three to five inch range and there's a lot of that on the board
00:23:42otherwise fairly widespread where you saw at least a couple of inches of rain it has been such an active
00:23:47month this is all of our flash flood threats over the last month and there were six different
00:23:52times across the mid-atlantic and the northeast where we saw this type of flooding so it has been
00:23:56an ongoing problem good news is you dry out today at least in that part of the country but of course
00:24:01that means there's flooding somewhere else this is the setup across the country you notice it's quite
00:24:05a bit cooler in the northern tier temperatures in the middle 70s but all of that green kind of
00:24:09stretching across the southeast that's the spot we're going to be paying attention to in here friday
00:24:13saturday sunday and monday this is a lower in threat than we saw in the northeast today guys but
00:24:18there is at least some risk of flooding still out there once again today it was rough yesterday some
00:24:23pictures coming out of the city and all over the tri-state wild stuff adam thank you thank you adam

00:29:48new declassified documents from the durham report appear to show that hillary clinton approved a plan to
00:29:53smear trump with the russia collusion investigation according to emails and memos leading up to the 2016
00:29:59election the clinton campaign's then foreign policy advisor julianne smith constructed the plot quote
00:30:06julie says it will be a long-term affair to demonize putin and trump later the fbi will put more oil into the fire
00:30:14but i think it's evidence of the great depth that the deep state will go to to cover up uh weaponization
00:30:23that was going on in the fbi and the executive branch of government generally under the obama
00:30:30administration the memos also suggest that president obama put pressure on fbi director james comey
00:30:36through former attorney general loretta lynch to wrap up the probe into clinton's use of a private
00:30:42email server happening today special envoy steve whitkoff and u.s ambassador to israel mike huckabee are
00:30:48visiting gaza touring aid sites and meeting with locals as part of their work to implement a new plan
00:30:53to bring more aid into the area all comes after whitkoff met with israeli prime minister netanyahu
00:30:58yesterday in jerusalem to discuss the stalled hostage and ceasefire negotiations between israel
00:31:04and hamas all right president trump also confirming that steve whitkoff will travel to russia as the u.s
00:31:09pushes for a peace deal in ukraine meanwhile the president is also doubling down on his august 8th
00:31:16sanctions deadline yeah we're going to put sanctions i don't know that sanctions bother him you know they
00:31:22they know about sanctions i know better than anybody about sanctions and tariffs and everything else
00:31:27i don't know if that has any effect but we're going to do it joining me now is national security
00:31:32analyst and international relations expert dr rebecca grant dr grant good morning to you so we have
00:31:37steve whitkoff expected to be traveling to russia and that august 8th 8th sanctions deadline
00:31:42so will we see a breakthrough sometime next week
00:31:44wouldn't that be nice so whitkoff's trip this is uh putin's last chance to get some kind of good deal
00:31:54for a ceasefire probably we won't see a lot of the details but we know from the past that whitkoff
00:32:00has discussed you know possible sanctions relief what about uh you know future investment in russia
00:32:07this is trump's effort to try to dangle some carrots in front of putin remember russia has pretty much
00:32:14become a vassal state to china economically and even with that accelerated wartime production
00:32:20russia's economy is very shaky they're missing out on ai all of this so this is what i'm trying to see
00:32:26if putin will be rational and agree to look at some sort of economic deal in exchange for a ceasefire
00:32:32hope it works yeah you know uh russia's economy is shaky but vladimir putin is also saying that
00:32:38because they have so much experience with western sanctions their economy is sanctions proof
00:32:43and then you have president trump you know expressing some doubt in the effectiveness of
00:32:48the sanctions that the u.s could put put in place on russia and also there will be secondary sanctions
00:32:53expected on countries uh like china and india who buy oil from russia so do you think that these
00:33:00sanctions could get russia to the negotiating table will they be effective
00:33:06maybe and no doubt putin prepared russia's economy moving away with currency and so many other steps
00:33:14so it's a very a resilient economy in that way good that you mentioned india they made a huge energy
00:33:21deal with russia so part of this of course is to pressure china and india and it's worth a try i mean
00:33:28this is really the lever that should work we know trump prefers trade and tariffs as his primary foreign
00:33:36policy instrument i think it does have a chance of working if we can squeeze hard enough with
00:33:43probably moving to those secondary sanctions and getting then china india and others to add to that
00:33:49pressure and really reshape russia's economic position europe's got to help us out on that too yeah
00:33:55and on the china front there's a really interesting piece in the wall street journal the editorial
00:33:59board is talking about how president trump's economic negotiations with china could also include
00:34:06trying to get them to stop supporting russia militarily so they write all of this is undoubtedly a
00:34:13long shot messrs xi and putin declared their no limits partnership shortly before russia invaded ukraine
00:34:19in 2022 and china is the dominant partner it gets cut rate oil in return for delivering technology to
00:34:26sustain the war it's hard to know if that calculus would change if mr trump made clear he's serious about
00:34:32secondary sanctions unclear if it will work but is this worth a shot it's worth a shot because breaking up
00:34:40russia and china would be a huge foreign policy achievement i've got to say that no limits partnership
00:34:48so dangerous to the world might not have happened without all the russia collusion hoax nonsense but
00:34:55at this point it is our number one global threat of course that tucks in iran north korea and all the
00:35:01others and the long-term economic prospects of china using its own currency for more settlements etc
00:35:08breaking up china and russia would be the best thing that trump could do okay so something else i wanted to
00:35:13ask you about uh is these numbers are shocking the number of children russia has taken from inside
00:35:19ukraine and resettled with russian families the institute for the study of war has an update on this
00:35:25yesterday they say that ukraine is reporting the number of children at about 20 000 but yale the yale
00:35:31humanitarian research lab places that number closer to 35 000 this feels like an underreported aspect of this
00:35:38war so tragic and the guardian says there are actually parents trying to go to russia to search
00:35:45for these kids some were abducted some were taken out of care homes some were sent on supposed free
00:35:51holidays but carly the intent of putin here is to erase ukraine's identity and he's starting with
00:35:58innocent children such a brutal war this has got to stop national security analyst rebecca grant thank you
00:36:04so much for joining us thank you you're very welcome okay deadline day has arrived and now new tariffs are
00:36:12set to take effect next week with some countries facing rates as high as 41 okay but now that we know a lot

00:42:34slight slowdown in hiring adding 110 000 jobs in the month of july compared to 147
00:42:41000 added in june the report is also expected to show a slight increase in unemployment ticking up
00:42:47to 4.2 percent so we will be watching for the real numbers coming out at 8 30. todd over to you let's
00:42:53stay with money now carly after weeks of massive trade deals president trump's tariff deadline is here
00:42:59the white house releasing a new list of updated tariffs that will go to go into effect next week
00:43:04some countries are faring better than others the big money show co-host brian branberg is here
00:43:10who better than you my friend whoa you got the band playing for you that's rare baby how about that
00:43:17um let's start with the executive order for those countries that did not reach a deal with us
00:43:23my take on this is if we were able to get the eu to cut a deal with us quite frankly completely on our
00:43:31terms we won that deal and that's clear yeah what leverage do the countries of syria laos burma also
00:43:39known as myanmar and switzerland think they have over us well they don't have any leverage that's why
00:43:45they're getting these high rates for the countries look those are not the like the big fish in the
00:43:49pond here okay they got high rates i think for different reasons switzerland at 39 they're a big pharma
00:43:54country and you know the president wants to see lower pharma prices so i think he's trying to put the
00:43:59squeeze there they got the roche novarta stuff laos is really aligned with china so i think this is one
00:44:05where the president's saying you've been you've been doing a lot of chinese funded infrastructure
00:44:10projects you're really kind of in hock with them you got to stop that you're going to get a high
00:44:14tariff if you're going to align with china so different reasons for those but the good news here is
00:44:20for the vast majority of countries on that list they got 15 which is way lower than what we were
00:44:26talking about before and i think for a lot of them they're just saying okay we can live with this we
00:44:32can deal with 15 and for americans doing business with them the same thing 15 is not that prohibitive
00:44:40number like we saw on april 2nd so to me the big story here is the numbers are way lower than a lot
00:44:48of people feared markets are a little down this morning pre-market but i suspect it's going to be
00:44:53kind of a general sigh of relief for the countries that didn't get a deal you know mexico canada still
00:44:58out there i think those are going to be bigger negotiations and take a little bit longer but
00:45:02the president's putting the pressure on canada he's at 35 so he wants a deal he wants him to come
00:45:08to the table lots to figure out what about india do we get a deal with india today today i don't know
00:45:13about today i think we'll get a deal with them but the president's not happy with india and you know
00:45:18india is one of those countries that kind of uh flirted with sort of the bricks thing for a while and
00:45:23they've kind of they've they've sort of uh been aligned across the world let's say with different
00:45:28actors and the president's saying get aligned with us get on board open your market so that's
00:45:33another one where there's big potential you see where there's the biggest potential that's where
00:45:37he's kind of turning up the heat the most that's why he's doing it with india so will it come today
00:45:42i don't think so will it come soon yeah i think so because india like a lot of these other countries
00:45:47needs a deal with us the big story on this to me is the fact that all these prognosticators
00:45:52of doom and gloom said they were right and that we were all going to be walking around
00:45:58this country with our pockets empty change for it was going to be a disaster we're all going to be
00:46:02poor and yet that turned out not to be the case and look who's given the president credit one
00:46:07jamie diamond watch us we started tariffs we didn't know what they're going to be and now we kind of
00:46:12know and they're they're more moderate and thoughtful and you know more carefully done and hopefully they'll
00:46:18help some companies export uh you know maybe some people move manufacturing back here so you know so
00:46:23far so good once again brian did donald j trump see something that none of these so-called best and
00:46:31brightest economists ceos all the leaders of industry failed to see because it seems to me
00:46:38donald trump saw it and all those other guys missed it and we're doing okay well they i think they missed
00:46:42it because they thought that his opening bid was somehow going to be where he ended up and he's
00:46:47a negotiator right so he came in strong but he had a his vision was this get some tariff revenue
00:46:54open up the rest of the world to our stuff and get to a point where we can prosper and look these
00:46:59other countries can do fine as well so i think the doom people didn't like donald trump mostly and
00:47:05they wanted to find you know kind of a cudgel to beat him over the head with but jamie diamond
00:47:10got it exactly right it's turned out pretty well the economy's in pretty good footing we need some
00:47:15things to happen we need some of these deals to get done we need interest rates to come down a little
00:47:18bit but if you can make that happen plus the tax cuts second half of the year you've got a lot of
00:47:24great potential and let's also not forget that one of the things that these trade deals are going to do
00:47:29is onshore industry and yes i understand what the left says you can't build a factory in a week
00:47:35understood but my timeline i'm sure your timeline a lot of our timelines is not a week we want
00:47:40something for our children and that's what donald trump is going to provide you know you can't do it in
00:47:44a week but when you're motivated you could do it pretty darn fast these days actually so it wouldn't
00:47:49surprise me if some of the onshoring happens faster than a lot of the critics say look when the incentives
00:47:56are there the money's flowing and there's opportunity businesses find a way that's what the tariff
00:48:01conversation has proven so right now i think the u.s is in a pretty good shape and there's a lot
00:48:06of countries around the world right now saying the deal's okay the u.s economy's saying the deal's
00:48:11okay investors are saying the deal's okay you know we're in a pretty good spot i'm glad we talked to
00:48:17you about this trade deadline because the trade deadline in baseball for your minnesota twins did
00:48:21not go as well that was a mean dig i shouldn't have done that yeah you came in here early and i
00:48:25appreciate it they uh basically sold the entire team brian breitberg thank you for reminding me of

00:54:57Expected to detail her 2024 bid for the White House, oddly praising it as the shortest presidential campaign in modern history.
00:55:05The book, the number of pages in the book, way longer than her campaign.
00:55:07Sure.
00:55:07She joined Stephen Colbert to discuss her new venture, while also dodging questions on the future of the Democratic Party.
00:55:15I always believed that as fragile as our democracy is, our systems would be strong enough to defend our most fundamental principles.
00:55:29And I think right now that they're not as strong as they need to be.
00:55:35Who's leading the Democratic Party? I'm just curious.
00:55:38There are lots of leaders.
00:55:40There's generally a leader of the Democratic Party.
00:55:43You know, like, oh, that's the leader of the Democratic Party.
00:55:45Who comes to mind?
00:55:46I think there are a lot of, I'm not going to go through names.
00:55:50Fox News contributor and senior writer for The Washington Examiner, Joe Concha, joins us now.
00:55:55Joe, so she has the book out, 107 days.
00:55:58And it came on the heels of her announcing that she's not going to be running for governor.
00:56:01And the reason she gave last night was because democracy is broken right now.
00:56:06And she wants to go on a listening tour of the country instead.
00:56:09And you also heard her there say that she dodged the question about who the leader of the Democratic Party is.
00:56:15He says she doesn't want to name names to exclude any one individual.
00:56:18So what stood out to you in this interview?
00:56:21Well, Carly, I guess going on a listening tour would be better than going on a speaking tour
00:56:25because she clearly still has trouble doing that based on just those vague answers that she gave Colbert.
00:56:32It's amazing how little press we saw around her announcement not running for governor in 2028.
00:56:37It's the former vice president, the former Democratic nominee in 2024.
00:56:41It had barely made a ripple.
00:56:43And I thought I heard last night as well that she has no plans for now for running for president in 2028.
00:56:49And that's drawing a sigh of relief from Democrats, probably.
00:56:52And Democrats, I'm sorry, Republicans are probably profoundly disappointed in that decision.
00:56:57But that's a smart decision on her part because the last time Democrats nominated the same nominee in two straight elections,
00:57:02it was 1952-1956, Adelaide Stevenson, he lost in 52 to Dwight Eisenhower.
00:57:07He lost even worse to Eisenhower in 56.
00:57:09That would be the same result for Kamala Harris.
00:57:12So the bottom line is that there is no appetite for a Kamala comeback.
00:57:16And watching Kamala on Colbert was like watching the Hindenburg land on the Titanic
00:57:22because Kamala blew through $1.5 billion in those 107 days and she got smoked by Donald Trump
00:57:28and Colbert loses $40 million a year for his network just to have a tedious late night therapy session for Democrats.
00:57:34And he'll be gone soon now as well.
00:57:35So Kamala and Colbert, maybe that's a future podcast, Todd, with two people just whining over whining.
00:57:40You've got to love the potential.
00:57:41Carly will listen to the podcast, not because of the content, but because she listens to every single podcast.
00:57:46I love a podcast.
00:57:47Somehow she has like 400 hours in her days.
00:57:49It's wild.
00:57:50So answer this question of who's going to be the leader of the Democratic Party.
00:57:54Some Democrats are looking at Zoran Mamdani as the next leader of the party,
00:57:58a socialist who once touted benefits for illegal immigrants as one of his greatest victories.
00:58:04Watch.
00:58:05When I think of the greatest victories in Albany's this year, I think of the Excluded Workers Fund,
00:58:09a fund that was created for undocumented workers who are locked out of unemployment
00:58:13at the federal level and at the state level.
00:58:19And what this fund would do is provide some modicum of relief.
00:58:24And Joe, we can talk to the cows come home about our concern for him as the leader of the city.
00:58:30But the fact remains, citizens who are actually allowed to vote,
00:58:33actual citizens of the city of New York still support this guy overwhelmingly,
00:58:38despite him literally giving away their money to illegals.
00:58:44Your thoughts?
00:58:45Yeah.
00:58:46And he wants to seize property and then make it into homeless soldiers.
00:58:49And that's pretty interesting considering that his rich family in Uganda literally owns private property.
00:58:54So, again, you could go through, as you said, the litany of things,
00:58:57why this person, a communist, basically should not be mayor of the biggest and most complex city
00:59:02in the country.
00:59:04And yet, he's not winning overwhelmingly, but all he needs is like 33, 34%,
00:59:08and if there's going to be three other candidates splitting the rest of that vote,
00:59:12he's your next mayor.
00:59:13So, it's just a scary prospect.
00:59:15And I just wish media members, when you do interview this guy,
00:59:17play back all these clips that we're playing and say,
00:59:20this is what you firmly believed.
00:59:22Do you still believe this now?
00:59:23And more importantly, and this is the big question,
00:59:25how are you going to pay for it?
00:59:26Because it doesn't seem to have a good answer around that.
00:59:29So, Joe, we also want to talk to you about this.
00:59:32Florida governor Ron DeSantis has announced that today is officially Hulk Hogan Day in Florida
00:59:36because Hulk Hogan lived there.
00:59:39He's going to be lowering the flags at the Capitol.
00:59:41And you were a part of the life of Hulk Hogan,
00:59:44which is now available on Fox Nation.
00:59:46So, I'm sure you have some thoughts on this.
00:59:49Oh, sure.
00:59:50Well, yes, he absolutely deserves his own day.
00:59:52This is an icon of the 80s and beyond.
00:59:56When you think of MAGA, think of Hulk Hogan first,
00:59:59a man who embraced Americana and wore it literally on himself
01:00:04and just a larger-than-life figure, not just in terms of height,
01:00:07but in terms of charisma and putting the WWE and the WWF at the time on the map,
01:00:13the life of Hulk Hogan is available now on Fox Nation.
01:00:15This is wonderfully produced and put together quite quickly.
01:00:18It was an honor to be a part of it, guys.
01:00:20I just don't think people understand.
01:00:21For people of our age, Joe,
01:00:22like he was the star of the 80s.
01:00:25And I think for the young people,
01:00:26they don't realize what an impact he made on all of us growing up.
01:00:29But they just don't realize what an impact he made on all of us.
