01:26Then, video outrage.
01:29Over the fake fight between Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.
01:34He was a good man!
01:35He knew too much.
01:37And dad on trial for his son's alleged school shooting spree.
01:42Did dad ignore this warning from cops?
01:44We got a tip from the FBI saying that somebody's made a threat to shoot up school.
01:48Plus, nice move.
01:50Some smooth-looking action.
01:53He pushed him out of the way, just like the Secret Service.
01:56Plus, what we've learned about the death of Hollywood icon Robert Duvall.
02:01His early days with two other struggling actors, Dustin Hoffman and Gene Hackman.
02:06And his final years as a gentleman farmer.
02:09Now, Inside Edition with Eva Pilgrim.
02:13Hello and thanks for joining us.
02:15We are now beginning week three in the search for Nancy Guthrie.
02:19Her daughter, Savannah, posting a new video pleading for the captors to do the right thing.
02:25It's tough to watch because you can really see the heartbreak, the toll this is taking on her.
02:32Jim Murray is in Tucson with the latest.
02:36We still have hope.
02:38The grief and anxiety of the last two weeks are etched into Savannah Guthrie's face in her latest appeal to
02:45her mom's kidnappers.
02:46To whoever has her, you're not lost or alone.
02:52And it is never too late to do the right thing.
02:55The Today Show co-host recorded the video outdoors, crouched on a stoop with minimal makeup and without her brother
03:02and sister.
03:02It was Ross Savannah appealing to the kidnappers' humanity.
03:07We believe in the essential goodness of every human being.
03:12The video lasts one minute, 17 seconds.
03:15She's particularly pleading to one of the individuals because I still believe there's more than one that would have been
03:21responsible for taking her.
03:22So remember, even if this plea can get through to only one of them and tug at their heartstrings, maybe
03:29there'll be a break.
03:30Today, President Trump threatened to seek the federal death penalty if Nancy Guthrie is not returned alive.
03:36The FBI says that a glove found discarded here along the side of the road, about a mile from Nancy's
03:41house, appears to match the glove worn by the kidnapped suspect captured on surveillance footage on her front porch.
03:48Investigators say that glove contains male DNA.
03:51They're now running it through a national database of known criminals.
03:54But if the suspect is not in that database, it could take months or even longer to track him down,
04:00if ever.
04:01We want to know if it matches the DNA found in the house that doesn't match anyone else in Nancy's
04:08inner circle of friends and family.
04:10Detectives are combing through video from Walmart stores in Tucson showing cash purchases of the backpack and other items the
04:17kidnapped suspect wore in this video.
04:19Then you're going to follow those surveillance images to the parking lot, see if you get a vehicle and a
04:23license plate.
04:24All that is just a wealth of information.
04:26This police helicopter is flying very low over neighborhoods in Tucson with a so-called signal sniffer, equipment designed to
04:33detect Nancy Guthrie's pacemaker.
04:35And Riccogliano found out how it could locate Nancy.
04:39This device is very useful for law enforcement.
04:41It's called a signal sniffer.
04:43It can actually sniff out the signal in Nancy Guthrie's pacemaker.
04:47Take a look, that's our expert all the way back there, 225 feet.
04:51And you could see this device still picking up the signal in his air tag.
04:57Today, in response to social media rumors, the Pima County Sheriff issued a pointed statement clearing the entire Guthrie family
05:04of any involvement.
05:06The Guthrie family, to include all siblings and spouses, has been cleared as possible suspects in this case.
05:12The family has been nothing but cooperative and gracious, and are victims in this case.
05:17To suggest otherwise is not only wrong, it is cruel.
05:21Meanwhile, the nerve-wracking manhunt goes on.
05:24On Friday night, a SWAT team raided a house two miles from Nancy Guthrie's home.
05:29Police, turn my door!
05:31This neighbor witnessed the raid, which was apparently triggered by a call made to the police tip line.
05:37A mom and her son were briefly detained.
05:39Another son was stopped by police, and his Range Rover impounded.
05:43It felt weird, obviously.
05:44This is a very quiet neighborhood.
05:46You know, if we get a speeding car here, that's big news.
05:49David Curl lives next door.
05:51Let the mom stay at his house.
05:53Was she terrified?
05:54Distraught is about the best word I can give you.
05:57Did she have any idea what was going on?
05:59She did not.
06:00She had no information to give them, had no idea why they were searching her house.
06:04There were no arrests.
06:06We still have hope.
06:09Coming up, we'll have more on the search for Nancy Guthrie,
06:12including an interview with Dr. Phil, who has been closely following this investigation.
06:17It's the video that has Hollywood freaking out.
06:20Two of the biggest stars in the world, Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise,
06:24apparently duking it out on the roof of a skyscraper, but it's completely fake.
06:28Digitally created with AI technology, and while it may be fun to watch,
06:34it's sending shockwaves through Hollywood.
06:37There's growing uproar today over this epic fight scene between Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.
06:45The A-list actors appear to be in an all-out brawl on a rooftop with an impressive, almost apocalyptic
06:52backdrop.
06:53It looks just like the movie stars and sounds like them, too.
06:57You killed Jeffrey Epstein, you animal!
07:02He was a good man!
07:04He knew too much about our Russia operations.
07:07But, plot twist, it's all AI generated.
07:10This filmmaker says he created the clip.
07:13I had a hunch that it was going to cause a little bit of a commotion.
07:16Rory Robinson says he used a new AI tool from the Chinese-owned company, ByteDance.
07:22The fight scene has gone viral with more than 7 million views.
07:26Today, industry insiders say the video is more proof that AI threatens the entire industry.
07:33I'm terrified. I hate to say it. It's likely over for us, says Deadpool and Wolverine screenwriter, Rhett Reese.
07:41I think people in Hollywood are pretty negatively reacting to this, both from a fear standpoint,
07:47everyone's afraid of losing their jobs, but also from a consent standpoint.
07:50You know, obviously Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise did not approve their likenesses to be used.
07:55The Motion Picture Association released this statement.
07:58ByteDance is disregarding well-established copyright law that protects the rights of creators
08:04and underpins millions of American jobs.
08:09The AI company said today they are taking steps to prevent the unauthorized use of intellectual property and likeness.
08:17His son allegedly shot up his school with an assault rifle, killing two students and two teachers.
08:24Today, the trial gets underway, but with the dad as the defendant, charged with the four deaths
08:30because he gave his son that rifle as a gift.
08:33As Les Trent reports, it's a case that examines where the line is for parental responsibility.
08:40The father of an accused school shooter finds himself on trial today in a case that is making history.
08:47A rare and potentially historic trial begins in Georgia this morning.
08:50This is precedent setting.
08:52Authorities say Colin Gray's son, Colt, killed two students and two teachers
08:57in a rampage at a school in Georgia 18 months ago.
09:02They say the gun the 14-year-old used that bloody day was a Christmas gift from his dad.
09:08We got a tip from the FBI saying that somebody's made a threat to shoot up school.
09:12More than a year before the slayings, police investigated threats they believe may have been made online by the teenager
09:19to carry out a school shooting.
09:21He knows the seriousness of weapons and what they can do and how to use them and not use them.
09:27Cops questioned both the father, a construction worker, and his son on the front porch,
09:33but no charges were filed at the time.
09:35In opening statements today, the prosecutor laid out the case to the jury.
09:40This case is about this defendant and his actions, his actions in allowing a child that he has custody over
09:52access to a firearm and ammunition after being warned that that child was going to harm others.
10:02The defense lawyer had this to say.
10:05The evidence will show a teenager who was struggling mentally, a teenager who was deceptive,
10:11a teenager who hid his true intentions from everyone, from law enforcement, and most especially from his father.
10:17Video was played in court showing the accused shooter boarding the school bus that day carrying a large wrapped package.
10:24This is Colt Gray arriving at the school.
10:28This teacher tearfully recalled being in the classroom with a slain student.
10:32They had pronounced him dead while we were here.
10:36The trial of Colt Gray follows the involuntary manslaughter convictions of James and Jennifer Crumbly
10:42for failing to prevent their son, Ethan, from carrying out a school shooting in Michigan.
10:47Now it's this dad's turn to face justice.
10:52Colt Gray's son faces four counts of felony murder.
10:56He has pleaded not guilty.
10:58That's former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle getting quite the welcome at the big NBA All-Star game.
11:05They were sitting courtside when a player pulled out some Secret Service moves,
11:09keeping another player from crashing into the former president.
11:14Whoa!
11:15A close call for the Obamas at the NBA All-Star game.
11:18Look at the wall!
11:19Nikola Jokic, a giant at 6'11", 284 pounds, came flying at them.
11:25But just in time, another player shoves Jokic away.
11:29A smooth move the Secret Service would have been proud of.
11:33And look who else was courtside for the big game in Inglewood, California.
11:36It's Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry.
11:39They showed up at the game the same weekend they released the first photo of their 4-year-old daughter,
11:43Lilibet,
11:44showing her adorable little face for the first time.
11:47Meanwhile, President Trump and First Lady Melania enjoyed a romantic Valentine's weekend in Palm Beach.
11:54They hosted a Valentine's dinner at Mar-a-Lago.
11:57That same night, Trump got all riled up at Bill Maher,
12:00posting a lengthy 500-word social media post attacking the HBO comic,
12:05after Maher ridiculed a recent Trump post about Canada.
12:09Prime Minister Carney, well that's an improvement, he's called him Governor Carney before,
12:13wants to make a deal with China, which will eat Canada alive.
12:17The first thing China will do is terminate all ice hockey.
12:20What the f*** is he talking about?
12:23Trump hit back calling Maher a jerk, claiming he was kidding about the hockey thing.
12:28He went on and on about the hockey statement, like,
12:31what kind of person would say such a foolish thing as this?
12:34As though I were being serious when I said it.
12:36Bill continues to suffer from a severe case of Trump derangement syndrome,
12:40and there is nothing that will ever be done to cure him of this very serious disease.
12:46Now drama at a big college basketball game.
12:50When a fire broke out, the action on the court came to a standstill.
12:53The crowd was evacuated, so what was on fire?
12:58Something is happening up there in the stands.
13:00A fire's broken out, and the fans at the University of Oklahoma Arena start to scramble.
13:05Oh my goodness, yeah, there is a fire in a popcorn machine, it looks like.
13:12Goodness gracious.
13:13That's right, the popcorn maker caught fire.
13:16It took several minutes for the flames to be extinguished.
13:19No one was hurt, and the game between Oklahoma and the Georgia Bulldogs was allowed to continue.
13:24Oh my goodness, yeah, there is a fire.
13:27Fire officials credit the sprinkler system with stopping the flames from spreading.
13:32And Hollywood lost one of its most beloved actors today.
13:36Oscar winner Robert Duvall has died.
13:39Duvall is known for playing a wide range of characters over his seven-decade career.
13:46Legendary actor Robert Duvall has died.
13:49Duvall passed away at his home in Virginia.
13:51His wife, Luciana, announcing,
13:53Yesterday we said goodbye to my beloved husband, cherished friend, and one of the greatest actors of our time.
14:01Before becoming a successful actor in Hollywood, Robert Duvall was a struggling actor here in New York City.
14:07In 1958, his good buddy, Gene Hackman, introduced him to another struggling actor, Dustin Hoffman.
14:14The three unknown actors became inseparable, with Hoffman and Duvall actually renting an apartment on the top floor of this
14:23building on 109th Street,
14:25where they split the $80-a-month rent.
14:29Duvall made his movie debut in the classic film version of To Kill a Mockingbird, playing the reclusive neighbor Boo
14:36Radley.
14:38Critics immediately took notice.
14:40He became a star for his role as Tom Hagen in The Godfather and Godfather II.
14:46Weren't expecting you, Kay.
14:48The loyal consigliere who did the biddings of the Corleone crime family.
14:52The shots saw you on the causeway.
14:55He's dead.
14:56In 1979 came one of his most famous roles in Apocalypse Now, uttering one of the most iconic lines in
15:04movie history.
15:05I love the smell of red palm in the morning.
15:07That same year, he starred as the great Santini, playing a marine fighter pilot who terrorizes his family.
15:15I see you cry. Come on. Squirt at you. Come on. Cry.
15:18In 1983, Duvall won an Oscar for his role as the broken-down country singer in Tender Mercies.
15:24If you'll just stand beside me.
15:30Sylvester Stallone and Dolly Parton presented the award.
15:33And the winner is...
15:35Ha-ha!
15:36Oh, yeah! Robert Duvall!
15:39Duvall spent his final years at his 300-acre horse farm in Middleburg, Virginia, with his wife of 20 years.
15:47Surrounded by nature and the horses he loved.
15:51Robert Duvall, dead at age 95.
15:55One of the greats.
15:57Duvall didn't want a formal funeral.
16:00Instead, his family is encouraging fans to honor his memory by watching a great film, sharing a good story, or
16:07enjoying a country drive.
16:09Next, the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping investigation.
16:13What Dr. Phil is saying today about the case captivating America.

18:32It's the third week Savannah Guthrie's mom has been missing.
18:36Now, Dr. Phil speak with Stephen Fabian about the investigation.
18:40Like the rest of America, Dr. Phil says the disappearance of Savannah Guthrie's mom has left him baffled.
18:47What makes this kidnapping unusual to you?
18:50One thing a kidnapper wants to do is get rid of their abductee as quickly and quietly as they possibly
18:57can because it's very high risk to hold their abductee.
19:02Things can go wrong.
19:03It's very concerning that they've not aggressively tried to monetize what they have, which is Nancy Guthrie.
19:09Dr. Phil, an expert in forensic psychology, says most kidnappings last only a few days.
19:16You have to have somewhere to keep them, right?
19:18Someone has to monitor them the entire time.
19:20They have to be fed.
19:22And if they have medical needs, that has to be attended to because they're of little or no value if
19:28they are deceased.
19:29As these weeks go by, there are a lot of theories out there.
19:32One is, could this be some sort of revenge plot on Savannah Guthrie?
19:37That would surprise me if that was the case.
19:40But those of us that are in the media, we're always subject to that.
19:45When I watched that ring camera footage, my gut reaction was, oh, wow, we're not dealing with a professional here.
19:50I just don't think they're very good at what they do.
19:53There were identifiable wardrobe items, the backpack, the holster, all of these things.
20:02Professionals don't do that.
20:03They're very careful.
20:04They detect where cameras are ahead of time.
20:07Dr. Phil is covering the case on his true crime podcast, The Real Story.
20:12Somebody has the information to solve this crime with one phone call.
20:17To whoever has her.
20:20What did you take away from Savannah's most recent video?
20:23It is never too late to do the right thing.
20:26I think Savannah Guthrie has done about as perfect a job in managing this situation from day one as you
20:35possibly could do.
20:36She has been non-threatening.
20:39She hasn't been intimidating.
20:41She wants her mother back.
20:43And it's never too late.
20:45Investigators have received more than 30,000 tips.
20:49Coming up, why these middle schoolers are going bonkers.
