02:14Now, Inside Edition with Eva Pilgrim.
02:18Hello, and thanks for joining us.
02:19Is this a new clue in the search for Savannah Guthrie's mother?
02:23A ring camera a few miles away from Nancy Guthrie's home
02:27capturing a man acting suspiciously at 3 and 5 a.m. a week
02:33before Guthrie was taken.
02:34He does have facial hair,
02:36and apparently so does the man captured on Nancy Guthrie's camera.
02:39Jim Murray is in Tucson.
02:41with the latest.
02:42It's chilling new video of a night prowler
02:45at a house six miles from the home of kidnap victim Nancy Guthrie.
02:49Detectives investigating Nancy's abduction
02:51are reportedly looking into the video
02:53to determine if there's a connection.
02:55The video was posted by the homeowner
02:57on January 23rd on Ring Neighbors,
03:00a community app, eight days before Savannah Guthrie's mom was taken.
03:04The homeowner, who declined to be identified, posted,
03:07my dogs went crazy and thankfully spooked him away.
03:11He came to the door at 3 a.m. and again at 5 a.m.
03:14He turned away from the camera and clearly did not want his face to be seen as he rang the
03:18bell.
03:19He has a mustache and goatee-style beard and a neck tattoo.
03:23The kidnapped suspect caught on Nancy Guthrie's surveillance camera
03:26is also believed to have a mustache.
03:28We spoke with Jamie Siminoff, the founder of Ring.
03:31We find in cases like this, our customers want to help.
03:35They are actively looking.
03:36They are trying to help the police to get Nancy home.
03:39In a day of fast-breaking developments,
03:41the FBI released an official description of the kidnapped suspect.
03:44He's male, 5'9 to 5'10, average build.
03:48Pima County, Arizona Sheriff Chris Nanos
03:50is denying reports that there is tension with the FBI.
03:54He sent gloves, which may have been used by the kidnapper,
03:57to a private lab in Florida for DNA analysis
04:00rather than to the world-renowned FBI lab in Quantico
04:04because he sent other evidence to the private lab before the FBI got involved.
04:09The sheriff is doing a power play to say he will handle the evidence the way he wants to handle
04:13it,
04:13but we've got a lot of second-guessing as to whether that is the best course of action right now.
04:19President Trump was asked about the apparent rift today.
04:21It was a local case originally, and they didn't want to let go of it, which is fine.
04:26It's up to them. It's really up to the community.
04:29But ultimately, when the FBI got involved, I think, you know, progress has been made.
04:34But frustration is growing with what sure seems like a lack of progress with the investigation.
04:39Now, 13 days in.
04:41It seems like authorities have a lot to go on,
04:43and I now wonder why it's taking so long, people are asking.
04:49These people are venting online, posting mocking videos, saying they're going to find Nancy themselves.
04:55At 13 days in, clearly there's no end in sight right now,
05:00and that only increases the pressure on both the family and the investigators.
05:04How likely is it that Nancy will be found alive?
05:07Clearly there's factors here that don't weigh in positively, shall we say, on a good outcome here.
05:14There's growing suspicion that the kidnapper is local.
05:17I believe this person knew this neighborhood, knew exactly what they were doing,
05:21and recall when they were on that stoop, they didn't have a care in the world.
05:25They were taking their time. They weren't looking over their shoulder.
05:29The ski mask and gloves seen in the video from Nancy's front door can be purchased at the Walmart in
05:34Tucson.
05:35So can the Ozark Trail Hiker Backpack, which is sold exclusively at Walmart.
05:39I bought this one at a Walmart right here in Tucson,
05:43and you can bet that investigators are going to be looking at the sales records of this specific brand
05:48and other items and matching that information with other leads.
05:52Meanwhile, Nancy Guthrie is out there somewhere.
05:56Could this be the face of the man captured on Nancy Guthrie's surveillance camera?
06:01The image was created by the nation's top forensic sketch artist,
06:04who's helped identify more than 1,300 criminals over her four-decade career.
06:09Now, she's coming out of retirement to help find Nancy Guthrie's kidnapper.
06:15What does he look like without the mask?
06:17That's the burning question as investigators search for the suspect in the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping.
06:23Now, the nation's best-known forensic sketch artist is using her skill and experience
06:28to create this sketch of the suspect.
06:30Lois Gibson achieved national fame for her four decades of work with the Houston Police Department.
06:35She says she came out of retirement to create this sketch because, like the rest of America,
06:41she wants to bring Savannah Guthrie's mother home.
06:44What did you see when you looked at video of that suspect?
06:46The bottom edge of his nose and then that thick mustache and then that hair below the bottom lip.
06:53He's young.
06:54He's below 40s, I believe.
06:56And other than that, he could be Latino, white, Lebanese, just any kind of race.
07:02We want to make it clear this is not an official FBI sketch.
07:06And Gibson acknowledges her sketch may not be totally accurate.
07:10The guy might have tattoos all over his face.
07:12I might have the facial hair wrong.
07:14But I had to try.
07:15And I'll take the hit if I'm wrong.
07:17How many criminals have you helped catch?
07:20I've helped solve more than 1,313 cases.
07:24She's in the Guinness Book of World Records for most criminals positively identified due to the composites of one artist.
07:31Ironically, last year, Lois Gibson was featured on the Today Show, the morning show co-anchored by Savannah Guthrie.
07:38She's made a difference in a lot of lives.
07:40You are the first to admit that your sketch may not be completely accurate.
07:44I'm willing to be brave and take a chance and make a mistake.
07:49We'll, of course, continue to bring you the latest on the Nancy Guthrie investigation as it develops.
07:56Surfers to the rescue.
07:57When a boat capsized with a family of six on board, these guys paddled over as quickly as they could
08:04and saved the day.
08:05They spoke with Les Trent.
08:08It's a boat carrying a family of six, including four children.
08:12It looks as if they're trying to outrun a big wave.
08:15Suddenly, the giant wave swallows the boat.
08:19Oh! Oh, my God!
08:21The entire vessel disappears under the water with the family tossed into the ocean.
08:27Vince Tusey recorded the crash in Santa Cruz in Northern California.
08:31I couldn't believe a boat was out there.
08:33The weather channel predicted 14 to 16-foot waves.
08:37It was really horrific.
08:39Fortunately, these surfers were 20 feet away and came to the rescue.
08:44Are you hurt at all?
08:45One of the hero surfers is a 14-year-old, and he plucks one of the kids out of the
08:50frigid water.
08:52The child is worried about his parents, who, unlike the kids, aren't wearing life jackets.
08:58The surfers try to calm the frightened boy.
09:02It'll be okay.
09:02We're getting you home.
09:04You can hear the scared children call out to each other.
09:08Guys, are you okay?
09:10I want to get out of here.
09:11There goes a floating shoe.
09:13It's an impressive response.
09:15At least 15 surfers have paddled out to save the family.
09:20There's another rescued youngster situated on a surfboard.
09:24And here are two of the hero surfers today, Emilio Pavel and Ian Anderson, both 14.
09:30What was your reaction when you first saw it?
09:32I'm pretty shocked.
09:33Yeah, I was, it was a little bit, I was a little bit scared for sure, because we just
09:37hear, like, kids, like, screaming.
09:40The situation looks pretty bad.
09:42So what did you do then?
09:43I put a kid on my board, and then I piled him away from the waves so he wouldn't get
09:48hit.
09:48Pretty big waves that day, so that was one of the biggest concerns.
09:53Officials are considering a ceremony to honor those surfers.
09:57They certainly deserve it.
09:59Now to the IRS agent found guilty of murdering his wife and a stranger to cover up his affair
10:05with his nanny.
10:06That nanny pleading guilty to a lesser manslaughter charge and agreeing to testify against him.
10:12Today, she was back in court for her sentencing.
10:15The nanny at the center of a notorious love triangle learns her fate.
10:20Her lover, former IRS agent Brandon Banfield, was just convicted of the stabbing death of
10:26his 37-year-old wife, Christine.
10:29Guilty of aggravated murder.
10:31Prosecutors said he did it to start a new life with the family nanny.
10:36The nanny, 25-year-old Juliana Magallais from Brazil, was the star witness at Banfield's
10:42murder trial.
10:43The plan was to get rid of Christine.
10:46Yes.
10:47She testified she watched as Banfield killed his wife.
10:51He got on top of her and stabbed her with a knife.
10:55Where in her body was he stabbing her?
10:57Her neck.
10:58Today, Magallais faced a Virginia judge to be sentenced for manslaughter in the shooting
11:04death of a stranger who had been lured to the house by a kinky sex website in an effort
11:10to frame him for Christine's murder.
11:12The devastated mother of the dead man, Joseph Ryan, gave a victim impact statement.
11:18I lost the chance to ever be called grandma.
11:23I will never have that.
11:25The nanny's lawyer said her testimony against Banfield was critical.
11:29Ultimately, it was her testimony that likely resulted in the conviction of Brandon Banfield.
11:34Then, she read a statement.
11:37I will never forgive myself for the pain caused.
11:39Then, the sentencing.
11:41The judge rejected a suggestion of time served.
11:45The facts of this case demonstrate an intentional and calculated level of violence that is the
11:50most serious manslaughter scenario that the court has ever seen.
11:57Olympics skier Lindsay Vaughn, who was seriously injured while attempting an Olympic comeback,
12:03is speaking out from her hospital bed.
12:05She says she has a long way to go before she can walk again.
12:10I am just in the hospital, very much immobile.
12:14It's skiing great Lindsay Vaughn straight from her hospital bed.
12:18It's been quite a hard few days in the hospital here.
12:23I'm finally feeling more like myself.
12:26Her dreams of a comeback were dashed after crashing and breaking her leg five days ago at the Olympics.
12:34Lindsay has a large brace holding her leg in place after three surgeries.
12:39She says there's more to come.
12:41I'm having a long, long way to go tomorrow.
12:45I'll have another surgery and hopefully that goes well and then I can potentially leave and go back home,
12:55at which point I will need another surgery.
12:57Her video comes as an orthopedic surgeon was quoted as telling a French sports reporter
13:02some injuries like hers can end in amputation.
13:06Lindsay is expressing optimism about her future.
13:09I feel very lucky and fortunate to have so many people around me that have really helped me get through
13:15this.
13:15So I just want to say thank you and go Team USA.
13:19It's been so great to watch and really lifted my spirits.
13:25And if you were an Olympic athlete, you'd want these guys in your cheering section.
13:30Their sister is on the U.S. hockey team.
13:32But as Allison Hall tells us, they're almost getting more attention than she is.
13:39They're the wild and crazy guys stealing the show at the Olympics.
13:43There they are at every U.S. women's hockey game, decked out in matching patriotic outfits.
13:49So, who are they?
13:52They're the brothers of hockey star Haley Wynn.
13:54It's Haley Wynn, 1-0, Team USA.
13:58I'm Tommy.
13:59I'm Ryan.
13:59Casey.
14:00The brothers are turning into Olympic sensations.
14:03The Wynn brothers do not like the club.
14:06They share videos of themselves in choreographed moves across Milan.
14:13Who came up with this idea to be such supportive brothers and to be just the best cheerleaders for the
14:19U.S. women's hockey team?
14:21I don't know.
14:21It's just stuff that, like, we thought was fun and, like, almost in a way where, like, we want to
14:25show our support for Haley and almost, like, almost, like, make her laugh in the process.
14:29Like Haley, the brothers all played hockey, and their kid sister was on the ice before she could walk.
14:35They gave her a bucket to lean on for support.
14:38Our dad made a backyard rink every year, so that's where we all learned how to skate.
14:42He had her out there when she was just one year old.
14:44What's it like when she scores?
14:46Oh, gosh.
14:47That first Olympic goal was crazy.
14:49I cried a little bit.
14:50Oh, that's so sweet.
14:54And listen to this, the crowd at the U.S.A. versus Switzerland women's hockey game joining voices to sing
15:01John Lennon's peace anthem, Imagine.
15:04A reminder the Olympics have the power to unite despite all the differences.
15:20A spectator posted the sing-along writing, we need more moments like this.
15:26Next.
15:27Hey, guys, I'm Chris.

18:45The king and queen of home renovation shows are Fixer Upper stars Chip and Joanna Gaines.
18:51This couple hoped to follow in their footsteps.
18:54Instead, they're accused of scamming homeowners out of millions and using some of that money for plastic surgery.
19:01Hey guys, I'm Chris.
19:03And I'm Raquel.
19:03This charming couple made millions, pitching promises of dream home makeovers like this.
19:09Selling themselves as the next Chip and Joanna Gaines of Fixer Upper fame.
19:13Are y'all ready to see your Fixer Upper?
19:15These families paid Chris and Raquel Judge to renovate their Texas homes.
19:20You get to move in knowing that you don't have to make any repairs.
19:23Like this.
19:24But instead of making the repairs, all these folks say the couple turned out to be more like con artists
19:30than contractors.
19:31We can never recoup all the money that we had to take out of our 401k to pay for all
19:37the damage they caused us.
19:38Between this group we brought together, they say they lost over $2 million.
19:44I ended up having to move back in with my parents because of this whole mess.
19:47So, where did the money allegedly go?
19:49I wrote about a $32,000 check and a couple of days later, she's getting her mommy makeover.
19:56Raquel Judge even posted about it online.
19:58I had breast reduction, lipo 360, and a tummy tuck.
20:02Lane and Kaylee Simmons say after paying the judges nearly $200,000 to remodel their home, this is what they
20:09were left with.
20:10Everything that they did looked horrible.
20:13Now my kitchen floors are still sinking in.
20:15We've had floods.
20:16We've had multiple floods.
20:18The Simmons say they then had to pay other contractors $60,000 just to fix the mess.
20:24But get this, it turns out Chris Judge isn't a licensed contractor.
20:29So, where are Raquel and Chris Judge now?
20:31We've been trying to track them down, so we came here to their home in Denton, Texas.
20:36But there's a notice pasted on their door here that says this property has been determined to be vacant.
20:43How many of you feel you were scammed by Chris and Raquel Judge?
