00:00:00Oh, no. He is. When Bill Maher is schooling you that easily. I know, and he's high. And Bill Maher is high and he's still schooling him. That's how you know. Bill Maher should just become a Republican. Make sure to tune in. Jesse Waters next.
00:00:17President Trump pushing for America's dominance in energy and AI, announcing a $19 billion investment. We're speaking with one lawmaker on how this could impact each of our lives.
00:00:29Plus, Mr. Mondani goes to Washington. The rising socialist star is heading to D.C. for a breakfast with AOC today. It's an event President Trump says he would love to attend while some Democrats shy away.
00:00:41Meantime, Carly, who saw this coming besides literally everyone? Another top Democrat having some COVID regrets. Governor Gavin Newsom answering the tough questions on his pandemic record. You know, like shutting down beaches.
00:00:56Yeah, what a difference four years makes. You're watching Fox Difference First here on a Wednesday morning. I am Todd Pyron.
00:01:01And I'm Carly Shimkus. It's happening today. Democrat, it's New York City mayoral candidate Zoran Mondani will be in Washington for a breakfast hosted by New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
00:01:12Lucas Tomlinson, live in Washington with the details. Good morning, Lucas.
00:01:16Well, good early morning, Carly and Todd. That's right. New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
00:01:22And since once people get to know Zoran Mondani at this continental breakfast this morning, they're going to like him.
00:01:28I'm really excited for the Democratic nominees or how Mondani to be here in Washington is to really, you know, experience and have people see him face to face.
00:01:42I think a lot of people just need to get to know folks before they issue an endorsement.
00:01:48And I hope that this conversation can be constructive to bringing the party together and rally behind our nominee.
00:01:54Now, not so fast as President Trump yesterday, who called the Democratic Socialist a communist and says New York isn't ready to elect him in the general election this fall and said former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo should stay in the race as an independent.
00:02:07I'd really love to go. I mean, I look forward to meeting them both. I know them both very well through what I read and through what I see.
00:02:16Look, he's a communist. I don't think our country is ready for a communist, but we're going to see.
00:02:22And I don't think that race is over yet either.
00:02:24Now, last night in a special election in Arizona, Adelita Grijalva won the primary with 62% of the vote or about 62.3% of the votes to succeed her father, who died in office earlier this year from cancer in southern Arizona's congressional district.
00:02:41AOC spoke at his funeral.
00:02:43Grijalva defeated the David Hogg-backed Canada and Gen Z activist, Jaja Fox.
00:02:49Now, the seat will not decide who controls the House, but it's one of three vacancies in heavily Democratic districts that could chip away at the Republicans' slim majority in special elections this fall.
00:03:00Carly Todd.
00:03:01TOUGH and serious question for you here, Lucas.
00:03:03Do you know why it's only a continental breakfast and why they're not having more like eggs and bacon and a little bit more of a robust spread?
00:03:11I can think of one reason they're not serving bacon, but it'll probably be a light breakfast this morning.
00:03:17That's absolutely true. Maybe it would have been pre-dose.
00:03:19Well played.
00:03:19President Trump was asked if he was invited to this breakfast. He said no, but he would love to attend, which would make for some very interesting conversation over that continental breakfast.
00:03:28Lucas Donaldson, live for us in Washington. Lucas, thank you.
00:03:30You bet.
00:03:30All right. It was a nail-biter yesterday. Vice President J.D. Vance casting a second tie-breaking vote in the Senate, pushing forward a bill to claw back more than $9 billion in federal funding.
00:03:41Three Republicans joined all Democrats in opposing Trump's rescissions package, leaving the Senate locked at 50-50 before Vance stepped in.
00:03:49The next step is for lawmakers to debate the bill, and once that wraps, they will go through another Voterama where an unlimited number of amendments can be offered.
00:03:59They face a Friday deadline to send the bill to President Trump's desk.
00:04:04And President Trump is accusing California Senator Adam Schiff of committing mortgage fraud, saying he lied about his primary residence for over a decade.
00:04:12I think Adam Schiff is one of the lowest of the low. I would love to see him brought to justice. He is a dishonest, crooked guy. I don't know about the individual charge, if that even happens, but Adam Schiff is a serious lowlife.
00:04:29Trump says he identified both his home in Maryland and California as his primary residence. Schiff is denying all claims.
00:04:36He is using my ownership of two homes to make a false claim of mortgage fraud. But what really is going on here is this is Donald Trump trying to bring about political retribution, retaliation, trying to distract from his Epstein Files problem.
00:04:54And the bigger problem, of course, is that this is a terrible abuse of power.
00:04:59The Federal Housing Finance Agency has sent a criminal referral to the Justice Department.
00:05:05Happening today, Anthony Bernal, the top aide to First Lady Jill Biden while in office, is set to testify before the House Oversight Committee on the alleged cover-up of former President Biden's mental decline.
00:05:16Bernal, described as the former First Lady's work husband, had to be subpoenaed by committee chair James Comer after he refused to testify voluntarily.
00:05:24Michael LaRosa, who served as press secretary to Jill Biden, saying that, quote, nobody spent more professional, personal time around them and their family and the Biden family than Anthony.
00:05:36Bernal is the second Biden official subpoenaed in the probe.
00:05:41Want to play a little baseball here, Shimkus?
00:05:43Sure.
00:05:43To the MLB All-Star game last night in Atlanta.
00:05:46The NL jumping out to a 6-0 lead early on, but the AL would come back to tie it in the ninth, forcing the first-ever swing-off.
00:05:54No, that's baseball.
00:05:55That's not dancing.
00:05:56To decide the winner of the game, you thought it was dancing.
00:05:59And it was filled up because Kyle Schwarber sealing the deal for the National League.
00:06:07Schwarber in the air to center field, headed towards the wall.
00:06:12And got the swing, and he did.
00:06:15Oh, good.
00:06:18Schwarber bombs in the All-Star game.
00:06:21Game, NL has rallied in the swing.
00:06:24Oh, it's a swing.
00:06:25With the hat-trick.
00:06:27Look out, Chop House.
00:06:29Schwarber was named the game's MVP as the NL took home the Midsummer Classic for the second time in the last three seasons.
00:06:36That said, Carly, I think we'd all agree that maybe next year they settle it with dancing.
00:06:42I think that would be a hilarious and wonderful twist.
00:06:46That's what the people want.
00:06:47Speaking of dancing, it would be a twist.
00:06:49Also, this game took place four years after the MLB moved the game out of Atlanta because of the Voting Rights Act.
00:06:56That law hasn't changed, but the game is back in the city.
00:07:01So I wonder what happened there.
00:07:02The Jim Eagle law that Joe Biden wants to do said it was going to stifle voting.
00:07:06Yet Georgia is seeing record number of voters in the elections since that.
00:07:10Yeah.
00:07:10So we have Gavin Newsom talking about his COVID policies and the game back in Atlanta yesterday.
00:07:15So like I said at the top, what a difference four years makes.
00:07:18And baseball players doing the twist.
00:07:20Today, House lawmakers expected to vote on bills that could shape the future of America's crypto industry.
00:07:26That's right.
00:07:26Congressman Mike Herodopoulos is one of the lawmakers backing these bills.
00:07:30He tells us why.

00:12:52Today the House is expected to vote on landmark cryptocurrency bills to boost America's crypto dominance after failing to advance the bills yesterday.
00:13:00President Trump says he met with a number of holdouts writing, quote,
00:13:04After a short discussion, they have all agreed to vote tomorrow morning in favor of the rule.
00:13:09Speaker of the House Mike Johnson was at the meeting via telephone
00:13:11and looks forward to taking the vote as early as possible.
00:13:15Florida Congressman Mike Peridopoulos sits on the House Financial Services Committee
00:13:19and he joins me now.
00:13:21Congressman, good morning to you.
00:13:22So catch us up to speed here.
00:13:23Tell us about these bills that are set to get voted on today
00:13:27and what they mean for the country, people who follow cryptocurrency,
00:13:30and also those who don't.
00:13:34Great question, Carly.
00:13:35A lot of people, when they think the idea about crypto, they think Bitcoin.
00:13:40It's a heck of a lot more than Bitcoin.
00:13:42We're talking about blockchain, stablecoins.
00:13:44These are folks who are in policies that are really going to change the way we do business every single day.
00:13:50When you talk about cryptocurrency,
00:13:51you're talking about the modern way that money is going to move more quickly and more transparently.
00:13:57And eventually, because of that quick movement,
00:13:59you're going to receive reduction in cost when you move money around.
00:14:03It took a little while, but in general,
00:14:04they're going to get through this vote today.
00:14:06And what's important also is that we're not going to have what's called CBDC,
00:14:10Central Bank Digital Currency.
00:14:12We want to have an independent thing.
00:14:14The last thing we want is what they do in China,
00:14:16where they can literally not only track your money,
00:14:19but delay your money because the government should not be the central operator.
00:14:23Okay, so yesterday, President Trump was in Pennsylvania for an AI and energy event.
00:14:28And at it, he unveiled over $90 billion in AI investments.
00:14:34Listen to this.
00:14:36One year ago, you had a dead country.
00:14:38We were dead.
00:14:40We didn't think you could ever come back.
00:14:42And now today, you have the hottest country anywhere in the world.
00:14:44It's true.
00:14:45This afternoon, 20 leading technology and energy companies are announcing more than
00:14:49$92 billion of investments in Pennsylvania.
00:14:53This is a really triumphant day for the people of the Commonwealth and for the United States of
00:15:00America.
00:15:00We're doing things that nobody ever thought possible.
00:15:03So we are still leading in the AI race, Congressman.
00:15:07Why is it important to maintain that status as China tries to catch up?
00:15:12They are there on our heels, as you know, but now the president has changed the equation.
00:15:19The big, beautiful bill is what's driving investment right now.
00:15:22People realize that America is the place to do business because we make the tax incentives
00:15:27for them to come to America, whether it be the cryptocurrency or, of course, AI, energy.
00:15:32America is the place to invest and save because we would finally remove a lot of those regulations
00:15:37that the Biden and prior Obama administration, for that matter, had put in place.
00:15:42We want to make it where it's the best place to do business, where you can invest your money with
00:15:46confidence, knowing that your taxes aren't going to go up.
00:15:50You're not going to be over-regulated.
00:15:51We're not going to allow all these lawsuits that have been happening in the past.
00:15:55America is on fire right now, the hot country, because President Trump and Republicans actually
00:15:59backed up their campaign promises that we're going to activate this American economy.
00:16:04And the way you do that is you invest in people by giving them tax cuts, and you incentivize
00:16:09them to do business here and to hire more people.
00:16:12It's an exciting time to be in Congress because you have a president who's backing up what he
00:16:16talked about in the campaign trail, which sadly was lacking for years.
00:16:20OK, so an area where China, Congressman, is leading is the mining of rare earth materials.
00:16:25And these are things that are important for everything from cell phones to cars to missile systems.
00:16:29Yesterday, Apple signed a $500 million deal with MP Materials,
00:16:33which is the only U.S.-operated rare earths mine.
00:16:39So the U.S. is trying to end China's dominance in this arena.
00:16:43Do you think that that's possible?
00:16:46I do.
00:16:47It's because in the past, as you put perfectly, Carly, many regulations had been put in place
00:16:51by extreme environmental groups, which deprived the United States of its own natural resources.
00:16:56Now the president is saying we can do this in a smart way and still protect the environment
00:17:00and make sure that we are the epicenter of the future.
00:17:03Because when you rely on China, which has a lot of interest also in Africa, we lose on the economic stage.
00:17:09What he is doing is opening up the opportunities that American jobs are being created by removing these regulations
00:17:15that are haphazard and the extreme environmental groups are trying to push.
00:17:20And we look at it a common sense way.
00:17:22We can do it much better and much better for the environment right here in America with our common sense rules
00:17:27as exposed to some of the extreme things that Obama and Biden had been pushing in years past.
00:17:33Well, from crypto to AI to rare earths, we just covered a whole lot of ground, Congressman.
00:17:36We thank you so much.
00:17:37Obviously, there's a massive economic benefits to this, but also huge national security implications as well.
00:17:45Congressman Mike Karadopoulos, thank you so much for joining us.
00:17:47Have a great morning.
00:17:47We appreciate it.
00:17:48Thank you, Carly.
00:17:51You're very welcome.
00:17:51Todd?
00:17:52Senior meteorologist Janice Dean here with our Fox Weather Forecast.
00:17:55You know, Carly covered a lot of ground on her topic.
00:17:57You're going to cover a lot of ground in the weather.
00:17:59Yes.
00:17:59Yes.
00:17:59We are watching 93L.
00:18:02We are into tropical season.
00:18:03It has been fairly quiet, but this is something we're going to have to watch over the next few days.
00:18:08Area of low pressure moves across Florida and potentially impacts the Gulf.
00:18:12Let's talk about the steering currents.
00:18:14We have high pressure over the Mississippi River Valley.
00:18:17That's going to move northward and then allow this area of low pressure to move inland.
00:18:21Will it become a tropical depression or a storm?
00:18:24Still yet to be determined, but I can tell you the results are going to be the same, and that is the potential for heavy rain in the forecast and flooding.
00:18:33We think potentially for Louisiana, still Southeast Texas needs to watch this, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida Panhandle, as we still don't have a real grasp on where the storm is going to move inland.
00:18:46But what we do know is it's weak.
00:18:48The timing is going to be slowly organizing, but hostile conditions in the Gulf, and that means we have upper-level winds that is going to, you know, hinder some of its potential development.
00:19:00Here's your forecast today, so that area of low pressure, we're going to watch along the Gulf.
00:19:04Then we have a front that's moving across the upper Midwest in the Plain states, and we still have the potential for some heavy flooding for parts of the Ohio and the mid-Atlantic region, areas that have seen a lot of rain over the last few days.
00:19:16You saw the video yesterday out of New York and New Jersey and Pennsylvania, so we're still going to keep an eye on that.
00:19:22This has been the summer of the flood, for sure.
00:19:25Sadly.
00:19:26J.D., thank you.
00:19:27Thank you, Janice.
00:19:28Hey, have you heard about this case?

00:21:04Oftentimes, it begins with the IRS sending you a collection letter, but then escalates.
00:21:10And before you know it, you're having your paychecks garnished, your bank account seized, even your home or business could be at risk.
00:21:16My problem was, I hadn't paid my taxes in eight years.
00:21:20I was trying to take on the IRS by myself.
00:21:23I have five children.
00:21:24I'm trying to take care of my kids, and it was a lot of stress.
00:21:27I owed the IRS over $10,000.
00:21:31They told me the possibilities of garnishing my wages to resolve this debt that I owed them.
00:21:37I owed a lot of money to the IRS, almost $15,000.
00:21:41Well, there was nothing I could do about it.
00:21:43I was just overwhelmed at what to do.
00:21:45These stories are all too common.

00:22:08Since I've settled everything that the IRS, with Optima Tax help, I'm going to be able to succeed instead of just worry.

00:22:52I've seen what you do.
00:22:53I mean the hand soap.
00:22:54That was just one time.
00:22:55You tried to moisturize with butter.
00:22:57Hey, that was premium butter.
00:22:58Either get your head in the game, or I'm walking.
00:23:00The mirrors can't walk.
00:23:01Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
00:23:03What do you want me to do?

00:24:19Optimism isn't sunshine and rainbows.
00:24:22It's fixing things, changing things, changing the way we fix things, rolled up sleeves, breaking
00:24:29through, growing power to meet growing needs, working to run the world on smarter energy,
00:24:35every day, taking power where the grid's never been, then getting up and doing it again.
00:24:41Because if optimism never stops, then change can't either.
00:24:46GE Vernova, the energy of change.
00:24:51Customs and Border Patrol releasing last month's border crossing numbers as President Trump
00:24:56continues to crack down on illegal immigration.
00:24:58There were just over 25,000 total encounters nationwide, which is the lowest monthly total
00:25:04in CBP history.
00:25:06There were also just over 8,000 apprehensions nationwide, which is also an historic low.
00:25:12And on June 28th, there were only 136 apprehensions, which is the lowest single-day total in history.
00:25:21There were also zero parole releases compared to more than 27,000 last June.
00:25:27Authorities capturing the final suspect in connection to the anti-ice attack at a detention center
00:25:33in Texas earlier this month.
00:25:3532-year-old Benjamin Song taken into custody yesterday after he was found in a North Dallas
00:25:40apartment complex.
00:25:41The former Marine Corps reservist is part of a group of more than a dozen people arrested
00:25:45in connection to the ambush that left one local police officer shot.
00:25:50Song, like the others arrested before him, is facing three counts for the attempted murder
00:25:55of federal agents.
00:25:57And happening today, suspected MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia set to appear in a Nashville
00:26:02federal courtroom.
00:26:03And following today's hearing, he could be released from jail as early as this afternoon
00:26:08while he still awaits trial on human smuggling charges.
00:26:11A federal judge was preparing to release him, but agreed to keep him behind bars over fears
00:26:16that the Trump administration would deport him once he was freed.
00:26:20Abrego Garcia currently facing multiple counts of human trafficking-related charges.
00:26:25A 22-year-old suspect with a criminal history has been arrested for the deadly shooting of
00:26:31a longtime American Idol music supervisor.
00:26:34And her husband, Robin Kaye and Thomas DeLuca were both found dead inside their Los Angeles
00:26:40home on Monday after police responded to a call for a welfare check.
00:26:45Investigators say the murders could have happened on Thursday when police received calls of
00:26:49a possible burglary suspect at the house.
00:26:53Police arrived but say there was no signs of forced entry.
00:26:56Detectives believe the suspect did not know the couple.
00:27:00Absolutely terrifying if random.
00:27:02Meantime, witness testimony expected to resume this morning in the trial of the former Colorado
00:27:07dentist accused of murdering his wife.
00:27:10James Craig suspected of poisoning his wife's daily workout smoothies, ultimately killing
00:27:16her with a lethal dose of cyanide.
00:27:19Craig facing multiple charges, including first-degree murder and solicitation.
00:27:23The prosecution and defense laying out their arguments in opening statements yesterday.
00:27:28There was a mower, kids.
00:27:30Well, you asked yourself, is it my problem?
00:27:32Is it other women?
00:27:34In this case, it is.
00:27:35She was croaking.
00:27:36She was struggling.
00:27:38We're not disputing.
00:27:39And that she died.
00:27:42Really, the crux of this case is how.
00:27:47Criminal defense attorney David Gettleman joins me now to discuss.
00:27:51David, I think this case is going to take off in terms of its news watchability.
00:27:56People are going to be fascinated by this as we learn more.
00:27:59So let's get right to it.
00:28:00And I want you to take a look, starting with this search history of the suspect, James Craig.
00:28:04It showed multiple suspicious purchases and searches before his wife's death.
00:28:10Take a look.
00:28:10You can see him there on your screen.
00:28:12Basically, the number one takeaway from this, one of the searches included how to make murder
00:28:17look like a heart attack.
00:28:19That looks real bad for the defendant, doesn't it, David?
00:28:22Doesn't look very good.
00:28:23You know, his digital footprint is bigger than Shaq's shoe.
00:28:26I don't understand how an individual who is a dentist, probably a pretty smart guy,
00:28:32although that's debatable right now.
00:28:34How can he possibly have all the search history?
00:28:37It's not just that.
00:28:38He was finding out, can you die with cyanide?
00:28:42You know, is this detectable in toxicology reports?
00:28:45All these things.
00:28:46You have to realize that when you do criminal, when you do searches on Google or any other
00:28:51search engine, the police are going to be able to figure it out pretty quickly.
00:28:55And he obviously is going to be the first person to figure this one out.
00:28:59There's also this bizarre text message between Craig and his wife 12 days before her death.
00:29:04Look at this.
00:29:05James writes, are you nauseous?
00:29:07Angela, I feel drugged.
00:29:09James, just for the record, I didn't drug you.
00:29:13I am super worried, though.
00:29:15I mean, who talks like that, David?
00:29:18My kids.
00:29:19It's like, you know, you say, don't go in that cookie jar.
00:29:21Okay, I won't.
00:29:23Oh, wait, you did.
00:29:25That's the really, really, you know, just eerie thing.
00:29:28And that's just the tip of the iceberg in this type of case.
00:29:31I mean, this is an individual who ordered cyanide and ordered arsenic.
00:29:36And then his partner, his dentist partner, intercepted one of the packages and said,
00:29:40why are you doing this?
00:29:41We don't even use this in our practice.
00:29:44So these are all the things that are going to be coming out in the trial.
00:29:47And I think it's going to be very interesting to see how the jury is going to be looking at this dentist.
00:29:52There's also this, prosecutors have accused the defendant of plotting to kill four other people, mind you,
00:29:58including the lead detective on the case.
00:30:01And his previous lawyers actually asked to withdraw from representing him.
00:30:06What does that tell you?
00:30:07It tells me that he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room and he's probably the dumbest.
00:30:11Because when you have an individual who doesn't go through just one attorney,
00:30:15but multiple attorneys, that's a huge, huge red flag for any criminal defense attorney.
00:30:21Because there's no way you're going to get into that dumpster fire.
00:30:24The first attorney left.
00:30:26You know why?
00:30:26Because he said, I cannot represent this individual because of moral aptitude from this individual.
00:30:35That he is lying pretty much to me and he will probably lie to the jury and the judge.
00:30:39Finally, before we let you go, Rick Singer, remember that name?
00:30:42The mastermind behind the college admissions scandal.
00:30:45Now allowed to return to the college consulting business.
00:30:49But there's a catch.
00:30:50He must disclose his criminal past to clients.
00:30:52Less of a legal question for you here, David, and more of a parental question.
00:30:57Would you hire this guy for your kids?
00:31:00You know what?
00:31:01If he gets them into college, like a good college.
00:31:04But he can't bribe them anymore.
00:31:05I know.
00:31:06I know.
00:31:06This is funny.
00:31:07It's like, you know, he is the individual that created fake athletes so kids can go to college.
00:31:11It's like the coach getting the whistle back.
00:31:13Okay.
00:31:14Nothing to see here, guys.
00:31:15I actually think he's going to be somewhat successful.
00:31:18He's going to have to say to all the parents,
00:31:20hey, look, yeah, I spent three and a half years in prison.
00:31:23I have to pay $10 million in restitution.
00:31:26But look, I'll probably get your kid back into USC.
00:31:28Is he good at swimming or what can he do?
00:31:31Interesting.
00:31:32We are in disagreement on this.
00:31:33We'll have you back to see how it all plays out.
00:31:35David, Rick Singer's career.
00:31:36You're David Gellman.
00:31:37You're not Rick Singer.
00:31:38But you can probably get my kid into college as well.
00:31:40We appreciate your time this morning.
00:31:41Carly, over to you.
00:31:42All right, listen to this.
00:31:43Eleven Republican lawmakers are planning to introduce legislation today to revoke the federal
00:31:48charter of the National Education Association, which is the nation's largest teachers' union.
00:31:54Congressman Mark Harris is one of the members heading that bill,
00:31:57and he's now accusing the NEA of abandoning its mission, saying, quote,
00:32:01from branding President Trump a fascist to embracing divisive gender ideology
00:32:06and walking away from efforts to fight anti-Semitism.
00:32:10The NEA has become nothing more than a partisan advocacy group.
00:32:13Moms for Liberty co-founder Tina Discovich joins me now.
00:32:16Tina, thank you so much for joining us.
00:32:18And we understand that you're going to be at a press conference with Congressman Harris
00:32:21later today to talk about this very topic.
00:32:24But before you do that, explain to us, practically speaking,
00:32:27what revoking the charter of this teachers' union would do and why you think it should happen.
00:32:34The National Education Association is the only union in the United States of America that has a federal charter.
00:32:40They've had that privilege since 1906.
00:32:43And we are very grateful to Congressman Harris for taking this stand today and filing this legislation.
00:32:49There is no reason that a teachers' union that is embracing such radical ideologies and pushing them into our
00:32:56classrooms should have any access to federal, you know, support from the federal government.
00:33:03Yeah, and this push comes on the heels of reporting on this year's National Education Association meeting
00:33:07where the union reportedly approved, these are the bullet points that they wanted to achieve.
00:33:13They want to defend democracy against President Trump's embrace of fascism,
00:33:19oppose ICE student leader kidnappings, support students organizing against ICE,
00:33:25and they also say that they're supporting the No Kings protest.
00:33:29So that's what they're saying publicly.
00:33:31That's what their priorities are publicly.
00:33:33I see nothing in there about reading and math.
00:33:35And if you want to do that, that's fine.
00:33:37But shouldn't you then run for office as opposed to masquerading education as advocacy?
00:33:44You know, I need to remind the American people that only one-third of American fourth graders
00:33:49are reading proficiently in our country right now.
00:33:52And you can see why when you look at it.
00:33:54I mean, this is the teaching profession.
00:33:56This is their annual conference.
00:33:57They come together, the largest teachers' union.
00:33:59They don't vote on anything that has to do with education.
00:34:02And they haven't for quite some time.
00:34:04Moms for the Breddy launched in 2021.
00:34:05We've been following them closely since then.
00:34:08And then years prior, they have voted to defund the police.
00:34:10The only time I've seen them vote on curriculum or something that had to do with education
00:34:15is when they voted to decolonize the curriculum.
00:34:18And so this isn't a one-time thing.
00:34:21This isn't just this year they've decided to become radical.
00:34:23They've been doing this for a very long time.
00:34:26Parents are saying no more.
00:34:27We are not going to allow this in the American classrooms anymore.
00:34:30We want our children to learn to read and to write and to do math and learn science
00:34:34and become good civic citizens of this United States.
00:34:39And that is not going to happen as long as these radical teachers are the ones in the classroom.
00:34:44And we can't have the federal government supporting this type of behavior.
00:34:48Yeah, you mentioned that the nation's report card shows that children are struggling
00:34:51in math and reading proficiency.
00:34:53Fourth grade, 39 percent.
00:34:54Eighth grade, 28 percent in math.
00:34:57And fourth grade and reading, 31 percent.
00:34:59And eighth grade, add a 30 percent.
00:35:01And when it comes to this teachers' union meeting, Tina, there was one teacher who said,
00:35:05shouldn't we be focusing on education?
00:35:07And apparently somebody told her, we don't have time for that.
00:35:10We have to fight Trump.
00:35:11So clearly this is trickling down into the classroom.
00:35:15Would the solution be school choice?
00:35:17How do parents who are worried about this go about fighting back?
00:35:22Parents have the fundamental right to direct the upbringing of their children.
00:35:26You know, one of the other things the NEA voted on last week in their conference
00:35:30was to fight against the last month's SCOTUS ruling of Montgomery County, Maryland,
00:35:36where the Supreme Court reaffirmed again that parents have the right to opt out of the things
00:35:41that are going on in the classroom.
00:35:43And so we always support a parent's right to choose, whether it's opting out of curriculum,
00:35:47opting in to curriculum, opting out of schools, picking your own school, home schooling,
00:35:53private schooling.
00:35:54Children are unique.
00:35:56They are individuals.
00:35:57They deserve to have the quality education that best fits them.
00:36:01And, you know, the teachers' union is just trying to defend this institution that's outdated,
00:36:05that they have single-handedly destroyed by completely neglecting things like phonics
00:36:10and focusing on what's being taught in the classroom and how it's being taught.
00:36:13Instead, they're focusing on things like President Trump.
00:36:15And we forgot to mention that in their resolution they voted on saying they were going to call
00:36:21President Trump's policies all fascist policies.
00:36:24They actually misspelled fascism.
00:36:26I saw that as well.
00:36:27That was a good point to bring up.
00:36:29You're in Washington for a reason, hoping to pull this federal charter from the nation's largest
00:36:33teachers' union.
00:36:34So we will be watching how all of this unfolds as the day progresses.
00:36:38Tina, thank you for joining us.
00:36:39Thank you so much, Carly.
00:36:41You're very welcome.
00:36:42All right, the chief of J.T. Morgan Chase is giving his take on what's keeping the American
00:36:46economy on top and is defending the Federal Reserve's independence.
00:36:51Charles Casoni breaks it all down for us, coming up next.
00:37:01Just back a sore.

00:41:34JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon says the U.S. economy has remained resilient through the second quarter
00:41:47of this year, but is also warning of potential risks, saying, quote, the finalization of tax
00:41:52reform and potential deregulation are positive for the economic outlook.
00:41:56However, significant risks persist, including from tariff and trade uncertainty, worsening
00:42:01geopolitical conditions, high fiscal deficits, and elevated asset prices.
00:42:06That is a lot of $5 words there.
00:42:07And it sounds scary.
00:42:09Cheryl Kassani from Fox Business here with more to help us not feel as scared.
00:42:12I think that you read that beautifully, Carly, this morning.
00:42:15Well, thank you, Cheryl.
00:42:16I think that was wonderfully put.
00:42:17I appreciate it.
00:42:17Yes, Mr. Dimon did have a lot to say yesterday.
00:42:20First, it was the earnings report that we got early in the morning, but then it was the conference
00:42:24call, and that's where he really made some headlines, as he usually does.
00:42:28But yeah, I mean, he talked about the other thing he talked about that was interesting was
00:42:31potential deregulation, and that is something that has been first and foremost for the Trump
00:42:36agenda, making sure that businesses can, you know, kind of unleash a little bit, take
00:42:41the burden off of whether it's builders and the EPA or it's banking regulation, which is
00:42:47Jamie Dimon's specialty.
00:42:49You know, so I think that those are all good points that he made about that.
00:42:53But he did say that risk persists, he talks about tariffs, he talked about trade uncertainty,
00:42:56and of course, and actually, the market elevated asset prices.
00:43:02But the biggest news that he made, and he was the first leader of a bank to do this, here's
00:43:08what he said about the Federal Reserve, and this got a lot of attention.
00:43:11Here's what he said.
00:43:11I think the independence of the Fed is absolutely critical.
00:43:15Playing around with the Fed can have adverse consequences, the absolute opposite of what you
00:43:19might be hoping for.
00:43:21What he means hoping for is because President Trump has been very critical of the Fed, calling
00:43:27him lots of names, as we know, but also he wants him to cut interest rates because we've
00:43:31got $9 trillion in debt that's going to be rolling over within the next year, and obviously
00:43:35with higher interest rates, the American taxpayers paying that.
00:43:38And that is a problem.
00:43:39Fair enough.
00:43:41But Diamond, again, the first leader of any U.S. financial institution to come out and
00:43:47comment about this argument between Donald Trump and Jerome Powell.
00:43:52Jerome Powell's been asked multiple times, are you going to quit?
00:43:55His one-word answer, no.
00:43:57And Donald Trump doesn't actually have the legal authority to get him out.
00:44:01Now, there's the other side of this, which is the questions about the Fed's renovation project
00:44:05by some of the allies of President Trump.
00:44:08Do you, is maybe that a way that you put pressure on Jerome Powell?
00:44:13But, you know, Diamond weighing in and saying basically he thinks about it.
00:44:16And people do listen to Jamie Dimon.
00:44:18It's the nation's largest bank.
00:44:20And President Trump did say on Friday that he isn't planning on removing Jerome Powell.
00:44:25And then Scott Bessent yesterday said that there is the formal process that is currently
00:44:30being put in place to find the next Fed chair.
00:44:33So they're looking towards the future.
00:44:34Bessent said that yesterday.
00:44:35But President Trump also talks about relatively low inflation, good employment numbers, and
00:44:39that's the reason that the Fed should lower rates.
00:44:42So does he have a point there?
00:44:44Not based on yesterday's date at this point, just because, you know, look, inflation has
00:44:48remained tame.
00:44:49I mean, the report wasn't anything wild.
00:44:52But I think that at the end of the day, you know, they're sticking to that 2% target.
00:44:57I think Wall Street's gotten used to that higher inflation level.
00:45:01They don't seem to be blinking about it anymore.
00:45:03You know, sometimes that CPI can really move a market.
00:45:06And that necessarily didn't do that yesterday.
00:45:10So, I mean, well, the market closed down at the end of the day.
00:45:12What the heck did Jerome Powell spend $2.5 billion on when it comes to renovations?
00:45:16You just should have hired Chip and Joanna Gaines could have done it for a lot less.
00:45:20That's a good point.
00:45:21That would be a great...
00:45:22There would be a ship laugh.
00:45:23There would be a ship laugh all over the building.
00:45:25I don't even know what that means.
00:45:26Cheryl, thank you.
00:45:28Catch Cheryl on mornings with Maria, 6 to 9, coming up in 15 minutes.
00:45:30Thanks, Cheryl.
00:45:31Meantime, President Trump announcing massive investments in energy and AI infrastructure,
00:45:36signaling that more are on the way.
00:45:38The investments being announced this afternoon include more than $56 billion in new energy
00:45:45infrastructure and more than $36 billion in new data center projects.
00:45:49And a lot more than that are going to be announced in the coming weeks, not even months.
00:45:54I think we could say weeks.
00:45:56Right, Howard?
00:45:56Right, Howard.
00:45:57This is the latest CPI report found that electricity prices have spiked over the last year, rising
00:46:025.8 percent, while utility gas services are up 14.2 percent.
00:46:08So how can these new investments bring those costs down?
00:46:12Heritage Foundation Research Fellow E.J.
00:46:15Antoni is here with the answer.
00:46:17E.J., what is the answer?
00:46:20Well, Todd, a lot of what we've seen over the last year in terms of those higher energy
00:46:25prices has to do with things from the Inflation Reduction Act, which did the exact opposite of
00:46:30its name.
00:46:30It ended up making inflation worse, not better.
00:46:33It did that because it moved resources away from reliable types of energy production like
00:46:39natural gas, like coal, and into unreliable things like solar and wind that not only don't
00:46:45perform consistently, but are more expensive as well.
00:46:48And the consequence of that is ultimately higher prices for the consumer.
00:46:51As you start to unwind that, you end up getting exactly the opposite result.
00:46:57You get more reliable and cheaper electricity.
00:47:00And we're going to need that moving forward for all kinds of things in this economy, whether
00:47:04it's AI, electric vehicles, you name it.
00:47:07So if Trump is able to fully realize his goals on energy independence and maximizing energy output,
00:47:13how low could our gas prices go?
00:47:16How much could our heating oil prices and our electricity bills ultimately drop?
00:47:24Well, Todd, there's no reason to believe we can't get back to the same energy prices that
00:47:29we had during the first Trump administration, which would be an absolute boon to this economy.
00:47:34Because let's not forget, it's not just about the price of the energy itself.
00:47:39Energy affects everything we do and everything we buy, all kinds of products and services.
00:47:44And so as you bring down the costs of such a ubiquitous input as energy,
00:47:49you end up bringing down prices throughout the economy.
00:47:52Sure enough, energy has really been the deciding factor in each of this year's CPI reports.
00:47:59If we go back and we look at these different months, it has been the times when energy prices go
00:48:03up, like in the month of June, that we see the overall CPI going up a little bit faster.
00:48:09And the CPI has slowed down every time we get those reductions in energy prices.
00:48:13So that's really a key here, not only in supercharging the overall economy,
00:48:18but making sure overall inflation stays low for the American consumer.
00:48:22And we get out of this cost of living crisis that the Biden administration left us in.
00:48:26Quickly on this final topic, the White House announcing a massive trade deal with Indonesia,
00:48:31suggesting more deals are on the way.
00:48:33Why should the person watching at home care at all about this Indonesia deal?
00:48:37Thinking to yourself, man, that's a country that's so far away.
00:48:41Why should they care, EJ?
00:48:44Todd, great question.
00:48:45Because they're a major trading partner of China.
00:48:48You know, with all these trade deals, it's not important just that we get deals with our own
00:48:53major trading partners, but with China's, we need to peel these nations out of China's sphere of
00:48:58influence, whether it's Indonesia or India or Australia or Japan.
00:49:02We need to make sure that we are the major influence on those nations
00:49:06because that diminishes China's influence and China's status on the world stage.
00:49:11That's ultimately how you corner China and you corner the Chinese Communist Party
00:49:16and you force them to the negotiating table.
00:49:19Otherwise, they're going to hold all the cards if they still have these major trading relationships.
00:49:24So I really have to applaud the president here.
00:49:27It's amazing what he's been able to do in isolating the Chinese Communist Party
00:49:31and diminishing their leadership and their power on the world stage.
00:49:35EJ and Tony joining us here on a Wednesday.
00:49:38EJ, thank you.
00:49:39Now, Brian Kilmeade has a look at what is coming up on Fox & Friends.
00:49:42What's going on, Brian?
00:49:43All right.
00:49:44I just want to see if I can get permission to go to the stage.
00:49:46Chris, is it okay to go forward?
00:49:47Eh, take your chances.
00:49:49You're supposed to have cleared it.
00:49:50Hey, we have a big Wednesday morning coming up on Fox & Friends.
00:49:53Number one, AOC is hosting this big breakfast with his communist Marxist, I mean socialist, Zoran Mondani.
00:49:59The problem with Mondani, almost everybody in his own party amongst leadership is not endorsing him,
00:50:04even though he won the primary by 12 points.
00:50:07It's a New York mayor's race, but it's got national implications.
00:50:10So he goes to the Hill.
00:50:11Also, Ruthless Podcast gets a Fox deal.
00:50:14I have a lot to do with that, in my humble opinion.
00:50:17No one wants to give me credit for it, but I was one of the first to see how great they were.
00:50:21They'll discuss that and give us, give me, hopefully, the credit I deserve coming your way.
00:50:25Here, you can hold on to that.
00:50:27Plus, this is serious stuff.
00:50:29Deadly flooding, devastating New Jersey, the city of Plainfield getting hit hard.
00:50:33We're going to talk to the mayor about this this morning.
00:50:35Gavin Newsom, considering run for president in 2028, maybe.
00:50:40Steve Hilton's looking to replace him as governor of California.
00:50:43He would do a much better job, in my view.
00:50:46He's going to wear a collared shirt, no tie, and most likely a blazer.
00:50:49And we're getting an unparalleled look at the murders of four Idaho students,
00:50:53former from James Patterson.
00:50:55Put together a book almost immediately.
00:50:57That's all coming up at the top of the hour.
00:50:59New York sports, let me check in with Chris Chulio.
00:51:00Chris Chulio, what happened with the Knicks?
00:51:02Mets, Yankees, Giants, and Jets.
00:51:05Well, in case you've been living under a rock, as well, you know, the Knicks have hired a new head coach.
00:51:09Yankees, nothing.
00:51:10Mets, nothing.
00:51:10They're in the all-star break right now.
00:51:12Jets?
00:51:13Jets.
00:51:13Sauce Gardner just signed a new deal with the Jets.
00:51:16Four years?
00:51:17$124 million.
00:51:18Does it sound familiar?
00:51:19That sort of sounds like what Lawrence Jones' contract is.
00:51:22Exactly.
00:51:23They played off Lawrence Jones' non-guaranteed contract.
00:51:27I think there's coffee coming, right?
00:51:28And they both have fantastic foot speed, and both will be needed to start for the Jets this year.
00:51:32But he's got to do our show first.
00:51:34Fox & Friends, coming your way.
00:51:35And please get dressed.
00:51:43Choose Advil liquid gels for faster, stronger, and longer-lasting relief than Tylenol rapid-release gels.
00:51:51Because Advil targets pain at the source of inflammation.
00:51:54So for faster pain relief, Advil, the pain away.
00:51:59We need to talk.
00:52:01Oh, my God.
00:52:02No, just your face.
00:52:03And I'm tired of being the bearer of bad news.
00:52:05Dave, you can't ghost your own face.
00:52:07I've seen what you do.
00:52:09I mean the hand soap.
00:52:10Really?
00:52:10That disc scrubber thing you were doing?
00:52:12That was just one time.
00:52:14You tried to moisturize with butter.
00:52:16Hey, that was premium butter.
00:52:18Look.
00:52:20Either get your head in the game, or I'm walking.
00:52:22Mirrors can't walk.
00:52:24Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.
00:52:25What do you want me to do?

00:56:12California Governor Gavin Newsom pressed hard, much like the grapes at his vineyard,
00:56:21during a podcast interview reacting to criticism over his handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
00:56:25What are some of the things during COVID that you think maybe were a mistake?
00:56:31We were concerned it was airborne and folks, you know, we were worried about people being outside even.
00:56:35And we realized then, after the fact, what the hell are we doing shutting down the beaches and open areas?
00:56:42Do you think that some of the restrictions that you put in place created a mental health crisis?
00:56:51By being locked up, by not being able to enjoy the outdoors?
00:56:54It was devastating.
00:56:55Come on, man.
00:56:55Of course.
00:56:56Fox News contributor and senior writer for the Washington Examiner, Joe Concha joined us now.
00:57:00And Joe, this podcaster, Sean Ryan, he's friends with Joe Rogan, and Joe Rogan actually wrote in a question, and it was a tough one.
00:57:07He said, who will be held accountable for mandating COVID-19 vaccines for children, which were unnecessary and ineffective,
00:57:13and who will take responsibility for the unprecedented increase in myocarditis and cancer cases among them?
00:57:20He dodged and said, well, I worked with the Trump administration.
00:57:23If you're a Republican, him facing these questions is more satisfying than the answers.
00:57:29But it's also a glimpse into what could be the next three and a half years of him being on the campaign trail here.
00:57:36Yeah, Carly, I found it beyond insulting that Gavin Newsom is attempting not to portray himself somehow
00:57:41as this moderate, as almost a conservative when it comes to COVID.
00:57:45I mean, he's literally rewriting COVID history.
00:57:47I mean, let's take a little trip down memory lane, shall we?
00:57:49He told Sean Ryan, quote, we realized after the fact, what the hell are we doing
00:57:53shutting down the beaches and open areas and not understanding that early on?
00:57:58It took him three years to understand this, all the complaints from people,
00:58:02and he still went ahead with it because that was the popular thing, I guess, on the left to do at the time.
00:58:07I mean, this guy on your screen, he literally arrested a paddleboarder while out in the middle of the ocean
00:58:13because he didn't have a mask on.
00:58:14He filled up state parks with sand so kids couldn't play.
00:58:17He shut down small businesses while enjoying his lovely meals maskless at the French Laundry.
00:58:23So I wish the questions would have been a little more tougher than as soft as they were from Sean Ryan.
00:58:28He said once at one point, quote, if you're vaccinated, you could take off your mask in public places.
00:58:33Well, that's nice.
00:58:34And the problem is now no legacy media members are going to call him out on this
00:58:37while he really, really desperately wants to be president as if all is forgiven.
00:58:41I had kids that were four and six years old in New Jersey where it was just as restrictive.
00:58:46I'm not going to forgive my governor anytime soon for what they did to him and my daughter, Liam, that's for sure.
00:58:52My daughter, Cameron, that's for sure.
00:58:54Let's go to this quickly.
00:58:55Some in the media not happy with Barack Obama saying Democrats need to toughen up.
00:58:59Listen.
00:58:59We've been saying Democrats were cowards for a decade.
00:59:04We've been saying Democrats need to toughen up.
00:59:06And that cowardice is, you know, why we're in the position that we're in now.
00:59:09So it's just wild to hear President Obama say that now as if Democrats haven't been cowards for the past decade.
00:59:14This has not been about Democrats laying back.
00:59:18This has been about y'all.
00:59:21Democrats have been angry at what this man tried to do the last time.
00:59:26They've been angry this time.
00:59:27I believe you are pointing the finger at the wrong person when you say Democrats.
00:59:33They're not falling in line with Obama anymore.
00:59:35What does that tell you about how far the Democrats are spiraling?
00:59:3820 seconds to you, Joe.
00:59:40Sure.
00:59:42This is patently poor advice.
00:59:43Democrats have to toughen up to resist more, to oppose Trump more.
00:59:48I mean, that's all they've been doing for the last eight years since he first took office.
00:59:51And now all I know is Donald Trump is president.
00:59:54Republicans control the Senate.
00:59:56The House, more governorships are red than blue.
00:59:59And the Supreme Court is 6-3.
01:00:01So that's what all this resistance has got in the Democratic Party.
01:00:03They're winning on no scoreboard right now, Todd.
01:00:06Yeah.
01:00:06And he also endorsed Kamala Harris for president.
01:00:08So he's part of the reason Democrats are in the position that they are in now.
01:00:12That's right.
01:00:12Joe, thank you so much for joining us.
01:00:13Have a great day.
01:00:14Fox & Friends starts right now.
01:00:15Everybody took their car.
01:00:25Turn your phones on silent.
01:00:26How many phones do you have?
01:00:27That's unbelievable.
01:00:28It's impossible to reach them, though.
01:00:30You have to be with him.
01:00:31You have to be with him.
01:00:31That's right.
01:00:33Your phone runs outLAV.
01:00:35Okay?
01:00:36Bye.
01:00:36You have to be with him.
01:00:37That's right.
