00:00:00Smith and Michael Goodwin and, of course, me. Also, it's important to watch Fox and Friends
00:00:04from 6 to 9 a.m. We've got a great roster of guests. We want to keep it secret. My mission
00:00:09to all of you and whatever you do to stay within yourself and keep it right here on Fox News. Don't
00:00:16move. President Trump teasing a major announcement when it comes to the war in Ukraine today as
00:00:29NATO's secretary general gears up for meetings in Washington. Plus, young conservatives coming
00:00:35together for a rally in Florida over the weekend. We're speaking with one GZ, Gen Z commentator on
00:00:41why her generation is leaning right. I think we should change it to GZ. I like it. Let's go with
00:00:46that. And the big, beautiful bill in full effect impacting the future of the restaurant industry.
00:00:52Bar Rescue host John Taffer with his take on no tax on tips ahead. You're watching Fox News
00:00:58Friends First here on a Monday morning. I'm Todd Pyro. And I'm Ashley Sturmeyer. Carly has the day
00:01:02off. President Trump attending the FIFA Club World Cup final yesterday to hand out the winning
00:01:08trophy. And in just a couple of hours, he's expected to meet with NATO Chief Mark Rutt.
00:01:14Douglas Ader joins us now from Washington with the latest. Doug.
00:01:17Good morning, guys. The president said he had a great time attending the FIFA Club World Cup
00:01:22yesterday in New Jersey, where he joined in on the trophy presentation. He later talked about it on
00:01:28his way back to Washington. Match very well played. Tremendous crowd. And that's sort of a
00:01:35pre-World Cup. We have World Cup coming. We have Olympics coming. And we have 250 years coming. That's
00:01:42going to be a big one. Maybe the biggest one of all. So that was great. But a number of other issues
00:01:49are brewing right now for the administration on Ukraine. The president seems convinced now that
00:01:54Russia is not serious about a peace deal as the war there grinds on. And he appears open now to
00:02:00support an effort in the Senate to ratchet up sanctions to damage the Russian economy. There
00:02:05is already strong bipartisan support to make that happen. And NATO's secretary general meantime will
00:02:12meet with the president today at the White House as Trump is talking about sending more military aid
00:02:17to Ukraine. They do need protection. But the European Union is paying for it. We're not paying anything
00:02:23for it. But we will send it. It'll be business for us. And we will send them patriots, which they
00:02:29desperately need. But I am very disappointed with President Putin. I thought he was somebody that
00:02:36meant what he said. And he'll talk so beautifully and then he'll bomb people at night. We don't like that.
00:02:42And the president also gave an update on peace talks for Gaza, saying there are talks underway
00:02:49and that he hopes to, in his words, get that straightened out over the next week. Todd Nash.
00:02:55Doug Lizato, live for us, Doug. Thank you. House Foreign Affairs Committee member,
00:02:59Congressman Corey Mills, coming up later this hour to discuss this potential announcement.
00:03:04Former President Joe Biden is defending his use of the auto pen to grant a large batch of pardons
00:03:10and commutations at the end of his term. Speaking to The New York Times, Biden claimed he made every
00:03:15decision and only used the auto pen because there were a lot of people to grant clemency to.
00:03:20But The Times reports that Biden did not individually approve each person, but rather signed off on
00:03:26specific standards and criteria needed to qualify for a sentence reduction. During his time in office,
00:03:32Biden granted clemency and pardoned more than 1,500 people, including family members and government
00:03:37officials like Dr. Anthony Fauci. Two dead, two injured after a gunman goes on a shooting
00:03:44rampage in Kentucky. Police say it started when the suspect shot a state trooper after being pulled
00:03:48over for a license plate reader alert. Luckily, that trooper now in stable condition. The gunman
00:03:54then took off carjacking a vehicle before heading to a church in Lexington where he shot and killed two
00:03:59women. Officials say the suspect may have a connection to that church, but the investigation
00:04:04is still ongoing. A new Senate report detailing mistakes made by Secret Service as yesterday
00:04:10marked one year since President Trump was rushed off stage after he was shot at during a rally in
00:04:16Butler, Pennsylvania. Jan Lee Painter here with more. Jan. Hey Todd and Ashley. So the 30 page Senate
00:04:21report blast the Secret Service for a quote cascade of errors leading up to the failed assassination
00:04:27attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania. President Trump had this to say one year later. Watch.
00:04:33God was protecting me, Brian. I'll tell you, it's, uh, the more you think about it, the more you see
00:04:38it. I don't like to think about it much. You know, I have a job to do. It's a little bit of a dangerous
00:04:43profession being president, but I really don't like to think about it too much. I think you're better
00:04:48off not thinking about it. The Senate report found that, quote, U.S. Secret Service headquarters
00:04:53denied or left unfulfilled at least 10 requests by the Donald Trump division for additional resources
00:05:00during the 2024 campaign and goes on to accuse the former head of the Secret Service, Kimberly
00:05:05Cheadle, of falsely testifying to Congress after saying no asset requests were denied for the Butler
00:05:11rally. In response, Cheadle refuted the report saying this, quote, the director of the Secret Service
00:05:17is not typically directly engaged in the approval or denial of request for support. For the Butler
00:05:24rally, I did, I actually did direct additional assets to be provided, particularly in the form
00:05:29of agency counter snipers. Meantime, in a separate report from the federal government accountability
00:05:35office, it found that senior level Secret Service agents were informed of a threat 10 days before the
00:05:42Butler rally, but failed to share that information with the local and federal agencies. That report
00:05:47also identifies a series of procedural and planning mistakes along the way, guys. You could sure
00:05:53say that. Janely, thank you. DHS reporting more than 360 illegal migrants in custody after a pair of
00:06:01raids in California. And that list includes a child predator and other convicted of charges like
00:06:07kidnapping and burglary. More on what we're learning from these raids coming up next.

00:11:23DHS Secretary Christine Noem defending the use of the new migrant detention center
00:11:34dubbed Alligator Alcatraz after Democrats criticized the facility,
00:11:38calling it, quote, inhumane.
00:11:41This is a state-run facility at Alligator Alcatraz,
00:11:43but they have a...
00:11:44More than 30 people stuffed into a jail cell?
00:11:45They have a contrast.
00:11:46Well, I've been there, and I've seen these rooms that they are in.
00:11:49I wouldn't call them jail cells.
00:11:51Democrats have called them cages, though.
00:11:53I wish they would have set that back during the Biden administration
00:11:56and back when Democrats were in the White House
00:11:59and they were piling people on top of each other on cement floors.
00:12:03Noem has promised to allow cameras document the conditions
00:12:05inside the detention centers to show how it is superior
00:12:08to those used under the Biden administration.
00:12:12DHS revealing that the number of illegal migrants arrested
00:12:14at the California cannabis farm raids last week is up to 361,
00:12:19making it one of the largest operations since President Trump took office
00:12:22for his second term.
00:12:24Simon Hankinson is a senior research fellow in the Border Security
00:12:27and Immigration Center at the Heritage Foundation, and he joins me now.
00:12:31Simon, this list includes the following.
00:12:34Roman Izquierdo, convicted of kidnapping, attempted rape,
00:12:37and attempted child molestation, was previously deported back in 2006.
00:12:42Juan Duarte Velasquez, who's been convicted of rape and a DUI.
00:12:45Jose Orellana, who's been convicted of a DUI and a hit and run with property damage.
00:12:50And finally, Adriana Gonzalez-Gonzalez, who has been convicted three times for burglary and a DUI.
00:12:59Simon, not really a list of Boy Scouts, is it?
00:13:03It sure isn't.
00:13:04In fact, it's a sort of a list of poster children for why we need deportation and law enforcement.
00:13:11When there are people here in this country illegally and they're at risk of harming American citizens
00:13:15and legal residents, they need to be removed if they have a deportation order in accordance with
00:13:21the law.
00:13:21And when they're let loose to run around and to work and to live freely,
00:13:25then all that risk is on our communities instead of the communities back home where they're from.
00:13:29Everything you just said seems completely logical, and it seems like something all of us should be
00:13:35on board with.
00:13:36Yet, nevertheless, Democrats doubling down against these raids.
00:13:41So what do you make of that?
00:13:43What do you make of the fact that they're doubling down on these raids against these cannabis farms?
00:13:47One, in light of the criminals that we just discussed, but two, in light of the fact that
00:13:51at least 14 migrant children were found working on these farms during these raids.
00:13:57The bottom line is they don't want enforcement of any kind.
00:14:03They don't believe that anybody should be deported or detained.
00:14:07And essentially, they don't believe in borders.
00:14:09They believe that there's a global right to migrate, and everything else is subsumed to that big thought.
00:14:14So they don't want raids.
00:14:16They don't even care if there are minors.
00:14:19I think there were 10 at this particular site, so God knows how many there are across the country
00:14:22who were brought in here under the Biden administration, 550,000 unaccompanied alien children
00:14:28who are working in, you know, unsafe, illegal circumstances, and in this case, with known pedophiles.
00:14:35I think that is such an important point that you said.
00:14:37We know about these 10 to 14 on these two raids,
00:14:40but we don't know where hundreds of thousands of migrant children are that came across the border
00:14:46during the Biden administration.
00:14:47We have heard reports that they are involved in sex trafficking,
00:14:51they themselves being sex trafficked, obviously working these farms.
00:14:55And so that leads to this question.
00:14:56I heard everything you just said, but I can't understand why Democrats think child labor
00:15:02and the overall concept of child endangerment is a good campaign strategy heading into the midterms in 2026.
00:15:08It makes no sense.
00:15:11Well, they're obviously going to try to find every angle that they think is politically positive for them
00:15:16and negative for Republicans, but I agree with you.
00:15:19I don't think this is a winning bet.
00:15:21I don't think most Americans look at children being exploited in farms and factories and, you know,
00:15:27worse in the sex trade or in crime and think that that's a good thing.
00:15:31That's a price worth paying in order to have open borders.
00:15:34I think most people are pretty disgusted by it,
00:15:35and they would prefer that we shut it down.
00:15:38And hold people accountable.
00:15:40So, you know, I don't do politics, but it seems like a pretty bad angle for them to take.
00:15:44I agree.
00:15:45DHS Secretary Kristine Ome, meantime, defending ISIS immigration crackdown,
00:15:49pushing back on claims that ISIS rounding up migrants without cause.
00:15:52Watch.
00:15:54Well, this federal judge's ruling is ridiculous.
00:15:56We never ran our operations that way.
00:15:58We always built our operations, our investigations,
00:16:01on casework, on knowing individuals that we needed to target because they were criminals,
00:16:06because they had conducted violent crimes against individuals in their communities
00:16:10or had overstayed their orders, had violated federal laws,
00:16:13and that is always how this is done.
00:16:16It's been done exactly how law enforcement has operated for many years in this country,
00:16:20and ICE is out there making sure we get the worst of the worst off the streets.
00:16:23Simon, who's right?
00:16:24Kristine Ome or the court in this case?
00:16:26And ultimately, does this get reversed by the Supreme Court?
00:16:31It's very difficult to predict what's going to happen in the courts.
00:16:35What we tend to find is that you have a much more activist level of judge at the district court level,
00:16:39where I think two-thirds of them were appointed under the Obama or Biden administrations.
00:16:45And then as we get further up to the Supreme Court,
00:16:47you tend to get a more traditional approach.
00:16:50So we'll have to see how this plays out.
00:16:52There's so many different lawsuits all happening at the same time.
00:16:54But in general, look, you have to enforce the law by going out there and arresting people
00:16:59if they've committed a crime or if they are removable.
00:17:02And then you give them their due process.
00:17:04And so you're going to find that if you enforce the law,
00:17:07there are going to be cases like this that the left is going to want to highlight
00:17:10as a political tool.
00:17:12And those of us that believe in law and order are going to accept as the price of law and order.
00:17:17Yeah, the left just wants to handcuff these agents trying to do their job
00:17:21in handcuffing these illegal migrants, many of whom have committed serious crimes.
00:17:26Simon Hankinson, thank you for your time this morning and your insight.
00:17:29Really appreciate it.
00:17:31More heavy rain is threatening central Texas after the deadly 4th of July flash floods
00:17:36and emergency crews resuming rescue operations after severe weather
00:17:40forced them to put everything on pause.
00:17:42Katie Byrne brings us the latest from Kerrville, Texas.
00:17:46Katie.
00:17:48Good morning, guys.
00:17:49Yeah, more rain and another round of life-threatening flash flood alerts.
00:17:53Temporarily suspended search efforts here yesterday.
00:17:55And we saw that rain lead to mandatory evacuations about 80 miles north of us
00:18:01with rivers and creeks once again rising quickly.
00:18:03Texas Governor Greg Abbott confirmed dozens of Texans were rescued in the Lampasas area there.
00:18:09By yesterday afternoon, though, crews here were told they could resume the search for so many
00:18:13still missing from last weekend's flash flooding that claimed the lives of 129 people.
00:18:19That search is still happening in miles of riverbanks and in the water.
00:18:23It's pretty bad.
00:18:25It's completely inaccessible.
00:18:27You know, there's nothing that we can do.
00:18:29And it's kind of a tough feeling, you know, because we're here because of the rain and now
00:18:34we're shut down because of the rain.
00:18:35And it's, you know, it's hard to sit still.
00:18:39You know, there's still a lot of people that are missing.
00:18:43We still have more rain in the forecast every day through Wednesday.
00:18:46And we're in a flood watch right now until late tonight.
00:18:49Send it back to you.
00:18:50Ms. Byrne, thank you so much.
00:18:54Appreciate it.
00:18:54And senior meteorologist Janice Dean is here with our Fox weather forecast.
00:18:58Janice, what do you have for us?
00:18:59They just can't catch a break.
00:19:00No.
00:19:01And we have more rain in the forecast where Katie is right now.
00:19:04She's going to, you know, it's dry now.
00:19:07But we have a couple of flood warnings west of the Kerrville area and southwest of Dallas.
00:19:13So there's the live radar.
00:19:15You can see the showers and thunderstorms moving through the area, pushing towards Kerrville.
00:19:19So unfortunately, more rain in the forecast, not only today, but Tuesday and Wednesday.
00:19:23And things will clear out.
00:19:25We also have a flood warning just southwest of the Dallas area.
00:19:29And we got close to six inches of rain.
00:19:31Although that doesn't seem like the rain that we saw two weeks ago, any more of it is going
00:19:36to cause a bad situation because the ground is saturated.
00:19:38So you can see the flash flood threat today, a two out of four for the Kerrville area because
00:19:43the ground is saturated.
00:19:44Now, we do have a change in the weather pattern as we get into Wednesday and Thursday and Friday,
00:19:49Saturday.
00:19:50High pressure moves in.
00:19:51That means, you know, we're protected from big, heavy rainfall.
00:19:55So that's the good news.
00:19:56It's going to be warm, though.
00:19:57It's going to be quite hot with that area of high pressure.
00:19:59But I'm sure they will take it right now because of the risk of showers and thunderstorms in
00:20:03the forecast for today through Thursday.
00:20:06Now, taking a look at the mid-Atlantic and the northeast, another area that has seen a lot
00:20:10of rain, so a three out of four here for flash flooding between D.C. and New York, all along
00:20:15the I-95 corridor, D.C. up towards Baltimore, Allentown, and you're just outside of it, New
00:20:20York City, but we could see some heavy rain, especially this afternoon.
00:20:24This is through Friday, kind of a setup, a slow-moving front, and a lot of moisture working
00:20:28its way up towards the mid-Atlantic and the northeast.
00:20:31And then we talk about Florida.
00:20:32It is tropical season.
00:20:34It has been relatively quiet across the Gulf and the Atlantic.
00:20:38But we are watching an area of spin, an area of low pressure, regardless of whether or
00:20:42not it becomes a depression or a storm.
00:20:44We're going to see days of heavy rain for the Florida area, especially the western, the
00:20:50west coast of Florida, all along the Panhandle towards Louisiana.
00:20:54So there's the flash flood risk Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday for this area.
00:20:58And again, so this is, you know, we'll call it a tropical disturbance.
00:21:02We need to take a look at it.
00:21:04But for now, we're not going to give it a name.
00:21:08But we're getting into the sea, obviously, where peak season is August, September, so
00:21:13we need to monitor it.
00:21:15Okay, Janice, thank you.
00:21:16Okay, you got it.
00:21:17And today we're expecting a big announcement from President Trump, as reports say he will
00:21:21reveal an aggressive Ukraine weapons plan.
00:21:24But will this actually stunt future talks of a ceasefire?
00:21:28We're expecting Congressman Corey Mills to join us next to discuss.
00:21:36Your mental health is better.
00:21:39But having uncontrollable body movements called TD, tardive dyskinesia, can feel embarrassing.
00:21:45I asked my doctor about treating my TD with ingressa.
00:21:49Number one prescribed ingressa is clinically proven to treat TD, quickly reducing TD movements
00:21:54by greater than five times at two weeks.
00:21:55Ninety-eight percent of people were still satisfied with ingressa after two years, and
00:22:00you can keep taking most mental health meds.
00:22:02Ingressa can cause depression, suicidal thoughts, or actions in patients with Huntington's disease.
00:22:06Call your doctor if you become depressed, have sudden behavior, mood changes, or suicidal
00:22:10thoughts.
00:22:10Don't take ingressa if allergic.
00:22:12Serious side effects may include allergic reactions like sudden, potentially fatal swelling
00:22:16in hives, sleepiness, the most common side effect, and heart rhythm problems.
00:22:19Know how ingressa affects you before operating a car or dangerous machinery.
00:22:22Report fever, stiff muscles, or problems sinking, as these might be life-threatening.
00:22:26Shaking, stiffness, drooling, and trouble with moving or balance may occur.
00:22:30Taking control starts with asking your doctor about ingressa.
00:22:34Ingressa.

00:26:34More than 5,000 young conservatives gathering in Florida for Turning Point USA's annual Student
00:26:43Action Summit.
00:26:44Top GOP leaders joining the rally, their vision for the future of the party.
00:26:49You are so fortunate that you happen to be in this country, in this country that was built
00:26:55for you to accomplish these great things.
00:26:58We need young leaders who will speak the truth, sometimes calling out our own party.
00:27:03If we don't have your voice, we will lose this country.
00:27:05Too often, I hear people say that we are the ones who are going to destroy America.
00:27:11I believe that Gen Z is going to save America, so let's prove those people wrong.
00:27:17A political commentator, Cameron Kinsey joins us now.
00:27:21Cameron, great to have you back on the program.
00:27:23So, is it now cool to be conservative on campus?
00:27:27A lot of alliteration for a Monday.
00:27:30Yes, thank you so much for having me.
00:27:31It is cool to be conservative.
00:27:33It's not cool to be a liberal right now because you don't know where to draw that line in the
00:27:37sand.
00:27:38They keep getting more and more radical.
00:27:39You know, I've been to these turning point summits myself as a young conservative.
00:27:43You can really tell that a shift is happening.
00:27:45You can feel it in the room when you're there.
00:27:48Gen Z is stepping up.
00:27:49They're rejecting the lies that they have been fed for years about family, about faith,
00:27:54you know, what it means to build a life.
00:27:57And we've been told that you should focus on yourself.
00:27:59It's more fulfilling.
00:28:00Put your career first.
00:28:01You know, it's too expensive to start a family and you should wait.
00:28:04You know, people are really starting to reject these claims.
00:28:07And statistically, you know, more Gen Z men are going to church now more than ever.
00:28:12They're embracing real traditional faith-based values because they've witnessed firsthand the
00:28:16fallout when you abandon them.
00:28:18You know, the breakdown of family, the rise of loneliness that we saw peak during COVID.
00:28:22You know, the emptiness that comes with a culture that mocks faith.
00:28:26So people want to live by these conservative principles like building strong families,
00:28:30strong communities, a strong country.
00:28:32It's really resonating with this generation.
00:28:34I'm glad you said more men are going to church because that leads me to my next question.
00:28:39Most of this increase in Gen Z support is coming from young men.
00:28:45Cameron, how do you bring more conservative women that are young into this fold?
00:28:50Well, I think we're already starting to see that shift.
00:28:54We're seeing these different genders really try to align with their traditional role.
00:28:59Women are wanting to become more feminine.
00:29:01They're looking for this leadership.
00:29:02And thankfully, we're living in a time, what a better time to live in this country with
00:29:06President Donald Trump as president.
00:29:08You know, I think it's events like this, obviously, that prove the message, faith, family, freedom.
00:29:13It's really encouraging because it just proves even after years of universities and media
00:29:18trying to indoctrinate them, you know, these people are hungry for truth, for freedom, for
00:29:23values that actually, you know, work in the real world.
00:29:26So that's really why the rallies like this are so powerful and so moving, especially for
00:29:31young women, because really it's just a generation ready to stand up for something bigger than themselves.
00:29:36You know, and Cameron, I think another push is pushing for family.
00:29:39Nothing brings you closer than having a family.
00:29:41But I do want to get to this topic.
00:29:44Former Democratic advisor Dan Turrentine is slamming Democratic socialist and New York
00:29:48City mayoral candidate Zoran Mandami for his anti-police rhetoric.
00:29:53Listen to this.
00:29:55I mean, I'm almost speechless.
00:29:57Like, that is so enraging.
00:29:59It's crazy.
00:30:00I hope it hurts him.
00:30:02New York City police officers put themselves in such harm's way.
00:30:05This city is full of crazy people on subways.
00:30:08The number of times that there are homeless people who are, like, out of their mind,
00:30:12who come up to kids, who scream at them right near, to say the police are the pro...
00:30:18I hope our party condemns them.
00:30:21You know, I truly hope they condemn them.
00:30:23As the wife of an NYPD counterterrorism officer, I can tell you firsthand that no one has any idea what the police deal with.
00:30:31And when you talk about defunding the police and this rhetoric over and over, I mean, it doesn't matter if you want police or not.
00:30:37They are a needed part of society.
00:30:38Absolutely.
00:30:41It says everything that even a former Democratic visor is almost speechless about how radical Mom Donnie's anti-cop comments were.
00:30:48You know, this is exactly the kind of reckless, out-of-touch rhetoric that New Yorkers are so tired of.
00:30:54Politicians demonizing the men and women who keep our streets safe, all while crime skyrockets.
00:31:01You know, it's the same failed playbook that we've seen time and time again, you know, weakened NYPD, making excuses for criminals,
00:31:09then wondering why people and businesses are fleeing.
00:31:12It's because New Yorkers want safe streets, not more slogans attacking police.
00:31:17So if Mom Donnie thinks he's going to win over everyday voters with this radical approach, you know, I think that he's in for a rude awakening.
00:31:25People have seen the results of anti-cop politics.
00:31:28You know, we want leaders who got blue and protect their communities.
00:31:32And, Cameron, before I let you go, when you think about Democratic people your age, I mean, is this really what they want?
00:31:41No.
00:31:42I mean, and you're seeing this with the Mom Donnie case, like, fold out in real time.
00:31:47You've got, look at his advisors and who's surrounding him right now and why the GOP doesn't take him seriously.
00:31:53Because you've got Attorney General Letitia James weighing in, you've got AOC, you have a crew of de Blasio holdovers circling back in influence.
00:32:02So, you know, this isn't somebody who's building a broad coalition.
00:32:04He's not resonating with the voters, especially people my age, to solve real problems for everyday New Yorkers.
00:32:10It's because he's aligning himself with the most radical wing of the party at a time where Democrats should really be focusing on managing towards the middle, in my opinion.
00:32:19It's polarizing.
00:32:20That's why so many insiders, you know, also say that he's not a serious candidate.
00:32:24Because, not just because of his lack of experience, it's that he's doubling down on these failed ideas and extreme policies that we've seen fail time and time again.
00:32:33You know, and this is all happening while Republicans now control the White House, the House, the Senate.
00:32:38So, really, this is the last thing voters want to see right now.
00:32:41We're still waiting for the Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, and Kirsten Gillibrand endorsements on Mom Donnie.
00:32:45We will break into our programming once those come in.
00:32:48We're not expecting it this morning.
00:32:50Cameron Kinsey, thank you.
00:32:51Thanks, Cameron.
00:32:51Appreciate it.
00:32:52Thanks.
00:32:53Listen to this story.
00:32:54After six years in the military, Air Force veteran Lindsey Gutierrez decided she wasn't done giving back to her country, donating her kidney to a fellow vet.
00:33:04And less than two years later, she donated 40 percent of her liver, becoming a two-time living donor.
00:33:11Lindsey Gutierrez joins me now.
00:33:13Lindsey, first of all, thanks for joining the program.
00:33:15Second of all, more important, thank you for doing what you're doing for humanity.
00:33:19Only one of about 200 – sorry, there are only about 280 people.
00:33:23People in the U.S. that are a double organ donor, living double organ donor.
00:33:29Why did you decide to make that sacrifice?
00:33:32It was something that I just wanted to continue giving my service back beyond the uniform.
00:33:39I knew that this was another way to help save a life, and I thought, why not me?
00:33:43I had the opportunity, so let's do it.
00:33:46How tough was it physically for you to go through these surgeries?
00:33:51It was pretty brutal.
00:33:52I'm not going to lie.
00:33:53It was rough.
00:33:54It was more physically demanding on the kidney and the liver in different ways.
00:34:01And it was definitely mentally taxing as well, just trying to recoup and get back to where I was before.
00:34:08Has the physical and mental toll to that point of these surgeries and the corresponding recovery impacted your military career?
00:34:15It actually hasn't.
00:34:18It's increased it even more than I ever could have expected.
00:34:21And it's provided a new opportunity for other veterans as well to reconnect in ways that they probably never thought they could have imagined happening.
00:34:31It has provided people on the transplant list a second chance at life.
00:34:37It has done nothing but increased my ability to give.
00:34:41And we're looking at the number on the screen right now, a little bit over 105,000 people currently on the national transplant waiting list.
00:34:50What's your message to those who are considering potentially becoming a living organ donor, but they're too scared?
00:34:59Yeah, I had the exact same sentiments myself.
00:35:02I would say if it's weighed on your heart, if it's something that God has put on your heart, because that's what he did for me,
00:35:08I would suggest really just reaching out and learning some information about it.
00:35:12There's no harm in getting educated on what organ donation can do for you.
00:35:17And I donated through Dove.
00:35:19As you can see up in the corner here in my picture, I use the organization because they specifically help connect veterans in need of a kidney to those donors.
00:35:28And that is a perfect segue to my next question, because we've been doing this show.
00:35:33I've been doing this show now for a couple of years.
00:35:35We interview a lot of veterans who either during or after their time as a military member, they continue to give back, whether it's becoming an EMT, a firefighter, or in your case, doing what you're doing while you're still on active duty.
00:35:52Why do you think that military people like you go above and beyond one form of service to do another form of service for their country, for society, for humanity?
00:36:03What is it about people like you, Lindsay?
00:36:08I think it's just that innate desire to want to give.
00:36:11I actually served six years in the Air Force, and then I separated after my one-year enlistment.
00:36:19And so it was after that separation I just knew I wanted to continue giving.
00:36:23It's just something that's on my heart.
00:36:25I'm a social worker as well, so it's one of those situations where it's, I feel like, just in my DNA to want to give back and to help others.
00:36:33And that giving back continues with your next mission is fighting overall to get better care for vets.
00:36:41How are you doing that, Lindsay?
00:36:43That's correct.
00:36:44I am actually working on my doctorate of social work, and so I'm looking at providing resources and different kind of research for psychosocial care for living donors.
00:36:54I know what it's like to continue living after our donation procedure in ways that we never would have expected or whatever those hardships may be.
00:37:04And so I want to look at that even further to explore how we can help support our donors.
00:37:09Lindsay Gutierrez, thanks so much for coming on the program and sharing your story.
00:37:13And let's face it, this is one of those stories where if you impact only one person watching this today and get them to say,
00:37:20you know what, I'm going to become a living organ donor, you know what you did?
00:37:24You just saved a third life, and that's awesome.
00:37:27Lindsay Gutierrez, thank you so much for what you're doing, and thank you for your service.
00:37:31Thank you so much.
00:37:33Awesome story.
00:37:33Not only a third life, but their family and friends and everything.
00:37:36Such a great point, such a great point.
00:37:37The European Union holding off on retaliatory tariffs as they look to meet President Trump's August 1 deadline.
00:37:44So, will they be able to strike a deal before time runs out?
00:37:48Cheryl Cassoni breaks it all down for us next.
00:37:50Men tell us when they use Just for Men to eliminate gray, there's a great before and after.
00:38:00Then, there's the after the after.

00:38:06And that's why more men choose Just for Men.
00:38:08I-R-S.
00:38:13Three letters that strike fear into everyone, and for good reason.
00:38:18The IRS is the most powerful collection agency on earth,
00:38:22and being in debt to the IRS can have serious consequences.
00:38:26Oftentimes, it begins with the IRS sending you a collection letter, but then escalates.
00:38:30And before you know it, you're having your paychecks garnished,
00:38:33your bank account seized, even your home or business could be at risk.
00:38:37My problem was, I hadn't paid my taxes in eight years.
00:38:40I was trying to take on the IRS by myself.
00:38:43I have five children.
00:38:45I'm trying to take care of my kids.
00:38:46It was a lot of stress.
00:38:48I owed the IRS over $10,000.
00:38:51They told me the possibilities of garnishing my wages to resolve this debt that I owed them.
00:38:58I owed a lot of money to the IRS, almost $15,000.
00:39:02There was nothing I could do about it.
00:39:04I was just overwhelmed at what to do.

00:42:34Happening overnight, multiple people have been killed after a large fire broke out in an assisted living facility in Fall River, Massachusetts.
00:42:44Fire officials reporting multiple deaths and injuries, including at least five firefighters who were put in the hospital
00:42:50after they arrived to thick smoke and flames as residents screamed for help from the windows of the burning building.
00:42:57The exact number of victims has not yet been confirmed.
00:43:00The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
00:43:02And President Trump is expected to make a second state visit to the U.K. in September.
00:43:08Buckingham Palace confirmed the move, stating His Majesty the King will host the President and the First Lady at Windsor Castle for the three-day visit.
00:43:16British Prime Minister Keir Starmer hand-delivered the invitation back in February during a meeting at the White House.
00:43:23No U.S. president has been invited for a second state visit.
00:43:26President Trump touting the success of his tariffs, citing how much money America has made since they went into effect.
00:43:34Our country made $25 billion last month.
00:43:38We have tariffs pouring in at levels that we have never seen before, and they've only just started.
00:43:44We're dealing with other countries and certain countries that would rather have a deal.
00:43:50The European Union is talking to us.
00:43:52They want to open up their country.
00:43:54But our country is making a lot of money.
00:43:58Cheryl Cassone from Fox Business here with more.
00:44:00And Cheryl, I was told by the left that tariffs would destroy and bankrupt our nation.
00:44:06Who knew that we could make money off these things, except for people like Cheryl Cassone, who told us this when the tariffs first came down?
00:44:13Well, you know, and certainly the markets have had a complete turnaround when it comes to how they perceive the tariffs and the threats,
00:44:19because these negotiations have been ongoing.
00:44:22And I've said this to you many times, like these are very complex relationships, and it just takes time.
00:44:27And that's something that the Treasury Secretary has said as well.
00:44:29But think about this, guys, $25 billion.
00:44:31That is pretty incredible.
00:44:32We haven't seen something like this since Trump's first term in office, believe it or not.
00:44:37And yes, it's true about the European Union, because they are now delaying these retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods until August 1st.
00:44:46Listen, and that was supposed to go into effect this morning, by the way.
00:44:49Listen to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
00:44:54I have always been very clear that we prefer a negotiated solution.
00:44:59We have worked and now are ready to respond with countermeasures.
00:45:03We've prepared for this.
00:45:05You know, just to give you kind of a clear sense here of what they export to us, the biggest sectors that we see as far as exports to the United States go from the EU.
00:45:15Pharmaceuticals, aircraft, chemicals, medical instruments, wine and spirits.
00:45:19But here's the thing.
00:45:21The EU was reportedly ready to hit the U.S. with $24 billion in tariffs if this deal does not come to fruition by August 1st.
00:45:29Especially there was this new interview by Italy's foreign minister this morning where he and he's in D.C. today actually saying that they are preparing these countermeasures.
00:45:39So $24.52 billion.
00:45:40I also want to add here, too, that the EU, according to Bloomberg, is reaching out to other countries.
00:45:49They're reaching out to potentially China, according to Bloomberg, but also they're reaching out to India.
00:45:54So the rhetoric and what the Europeans are saying and what they're willing to negotiate with the United States, a little bit of a different story happening this morning.
00:46:03But back to that U.S. economy story, Todd, that you mentioned at the top there, I just want to add this.
00:46:07Wall Street Journal did a survey of economists.
00:46:10The recession risk has actually fallen, according to this new survey by the Wall Street Journal.
00:46:16And the recession risks have actually fallen.
00:46:19So pretty good.
00:46:20Pretty darn good, yes.
00:46:21You know, people are out spending and they're traveling.
00:46:24Despite, you know, April, everyone was saying the world was going to fall apart.
00:46:29Well, it didn't.
00:46:30You know, Cheryl, if they got China on board with that, that would be huge.
00:46:33Well, we need to figure out.
00:46:35I mean, President Trump has said that we have a deal in place with the Chinese.
00:46:39We're going to be talking about that on Mornings with Murray, actually, with Gordon Chang coming up in a little bit.
00:46:44But we do need that trade deal.
00:46:45That's the biggest one, I think.
00:46:47Look, Europe is our biggest trading partner, the EU.
00:46:49They are.
00:46:50That one and China, and I also will add an idiot to this, are the biggest pieces of the puzzle, I think, to get this all kind of put to bed and figured out.
00:46:59I guess I'm going to get very jingoistic here, very pro-America, very MAGA here.
00:47:03But do the Europeans not realize that them sidling up to China, one, is bad for the entire world, but two, the fact that they have been taking advantage of us on trade for decades now.
00:47:19Do these two things not factor in?
00:47:21Oh, and by the way, we saved their entire continent from 1941 to 1945.
00:47:26I mean, does none of this factor in with them?
00:47:30At this point, I think that that message has gotten across to the Europeans in particular when it comes to NATO spending.
00:47:36You have seen them agree now to 5% of their GDP.
00:47:40They were not spending what they had promised us for decades.
00:47:44So, look, we're saying we will be your partner, but we're no longer going to financially back you and back the protection of your continent.
00:47:53This isn't World War II.
00:47:54Times have moved on.
00:47:55As far as the China threat, I do find that disconcerting.
00:47:58Yes, that the Europeans are thinking about cozying up to Asia-Pacific countries.
00:48:05That's China, as well as some others there.
00:48:07And I think that would be a mistake by the Europeans.
00:48:11I think it would, too.
00:48:11And I just think it sends a horrible message.
00:48:13Look, you want to have your battle with the United States over these numbers.
00:48:16I disagree with it, but, you know, make it the European Union, which was formed to combat us economically to begin with, versus the United States.
00:48:23Let's have that battle.
00:48:24Let's have that discussion.
00:48:25But you're basically doing what Russia did with regard to China.
00:48:29And that's not how we should be operating, considering, to your point, look at how NATO is, you know, we're coming to NATO's rescue all the time, trying to boost up defense numbers.
00:48:41It just seems disconcerting all around.
00:48:44And you're going to be talking about that for the next three hours there on Mornings with Maria.
00:48:48We will be watching.
00:48:50Cheryl, as always, thank you.
00:48:51Thanks, Cheryl.
00:48:51Thanks, guys.
00:48:52Now let's go to LJ.

00:54:16These are the heroes who put their lives on the line every day here at home.
00:54:20From Johnny Joey Jones' new book, hear first-hand stories from America's first responders.
00:54:25Behind the Badge with Joey Jones.
00:54:27Streaming now on Fox Nation.
00:54:28DC Studios' newest film, a Superman reboot flying up, up, up, and away to the top spot at the box office.
00:54:37A studio analysis of ticket sales shows it earned an estimated $122 million in the U.S. and Canada.
00:54:43That would make it DC's biggest release since 2017's Wonder Woman.
00:54:48Superman didn't perform as well internationally, earning $95 million in 78 international markets.
00:54:54That's not a lot when you break it down.
00:54:56Just $6.6 million in China.
00:54:58Apparently, they don't like American superheroes there in China.
00:55:01Marks the third biggest box office opening weekend of the year after a Minecraft movie and Lilo and Stick.
00:55:07Did you bring the little one to see either of those?
00:55:09It would have to be Superman.
00:55:11He loves superhero movies.
00:55:13There you go.
00:55:14Like his dad.
00:55:16Superheroes like his dad.
00:55:17And then police in Arizona delivering a pizza on Independence Day after arresting this delivery driver during a traffic stopwatch.
00:55:25Hello.
00:55:26How are you doing?
00:55:27Good. How are you?
00:55:28Great.
00:55:29Yes.
00:55:29So you're a grown-up guy.
00:55:31I got a grown-up guy.
00:55:32So...
00:55:32Still delivering your pizza.
00:55:36Well, I really appreciate the pizza.
00:55:40It still should be...
00:55:41Very, very well.
00:55:43I know you're there.
00:55:44There she is.
00:55:45She's like, why are you here?
00:55:47Right.
00:55:47Police shared the side quest on their ex-account writing in part,
00:55:51the order was hot and ready and the suspect was caught in steady.
00:55:55Like that.
00:55:55That delivery driver is now facing charges for reckless driving and racing.
00:55:59And I'll tell you what, my husband, there are so many stories like this.
00:56:02They're so witty.
00:56:03I love it.
00:56:05President Trump's big, beautiful bill getting praise from service workers and restaurant owners across the country
00:56:10as no tax on tips takes effect.
00:56:12Bar rescue host and owner of Taffer's Taverns, love that name,
00:56:16which has two new locations in midtown Atlanta and Orlando.
00:56:19John Taffer joins us now to discuss.
00:56:21Sir, thanks for being on the program.
00:56:22What does Trump's push for no tax on tips mean for, quite frankly,
00:56:27the existential future of your industry, the restaurant industry?
00:56:30Well, good morning.
00:56:32It's very exciting.
00:56:34And when Trump first mentioned this months ago, we all got excited about it.
00:56:38Think about it.
00:56:38The average person who works in a restaurant is often a single parent,
00:56:42a college student, a part-time employee.
00:56:44They're making about $100 more a month, about $1,200 more a year.
00:56:49You know, to that individual, that's a good amount of money.
00:56:51So, yes, we're excited about it.
00:56:54We think it's going to add a little more excitement to working in restaurants.
00:56:57But let's not forget, it's limo drivers.
00:57:00Even your barista at a coffee shop today gets a tip.
00:57:03And none of these people are wealthy.
00:57:05So I think this is hitting people that need that little extra income in a good way for them to get it.
00:57:11Yeah, I mean, $100 a month, that's $1,200 a year.
00:57:14That could essentially pay for your child care if you needed it to get to work.
00:57:19You know, Kamala Harris was saying that she could get on board with this, and I know this expires.
00:57:23Do you think this is going to be something that's going to continue on with both parties as the future continues?
00:57:29I do.
00:57:30I think it's going to be very difficult for any legislator to take a position of voting against this.
00:57:35You know, I think that we're at a point right now where more Americans are accepting the fact
00:57:39that the more dollars that wind up in the private sector and less in the government sector is good for America.
00:57:45This is part of a package.
00:57:46So think about this.
00:57:48No tax on tips, but lower taxes for everyone, higher income levels, more spending in restaurants.
00:57:55So in theory, they get more hours as well.
00:57:58So this is not only just tax on tips.
00:58:01It's an overall package that I think is going to have a significant impact on the hospitality industry as a whole.
00:58:06We've talked to so many restaurant owners like yourself who say, look, we can't hire anybody.
00:58:11There's nobody out there willing to work.
00:58:13Do you think this will change that?
00:58:16I do, to some degree.
00:58:17You know, look, we've been through heck in the restaurant business.
00:58:19We went through the pandemic.
00:58:20Then we went through the inflationary impact.
00:58:23We couldn't make any money.
00:58:24Then we couldn't get any employees.
00:58:26So we're getting past the inflationary issues.
00:58:30Of course, we're past the pandemic.
00:58:31Now, this might give us that little nudge we need to get that employee staffing issues resolved as well.
00:58:37So, yes, we're very excited about it.
00:58:39And the employees are excited about it as well.
00:58:41As they should be.
00:58:41So, John, I'm so glad you also mentioned that this is not a bill that necessarily helps billionaires like the left.
00:58:47Because I don't know a ton of billionaires who are waiting tables.
00:58:51I've never seen that.
00:58:52If you see it, please let me know.
00:58:54I just think that's such a disingenuous notion there from the left.
00:58:57Ashley.
00:58:57Right.
00:58:58And then the topic of the non-alcoholic beer sales, they're actually booming with Gen Z as they're creating this healthy lifestyle trend for the younger customers.
00:59:06So the beer room is reporting 61% of Gen Z and millennial consumers say they choose a non-alcoholic version of their favorite beer.
00:59:1357% would stay longer at bars or restaurants that offer those solid non-alcoholic selections.
00:59:20What are your takes on this?
00:59:22I think it's a positive trend.
00:59:23You know, it's 20% to 40% on-premise and off-premise in the industry.
00:59:27But, you know, it's interesting.
00:59:28The average person consumes about a drink and a quarter per hour when they're out at a bar or restaurant.
00:59:34So if you can get them to consume another cocktail, low-alcohol and non-alcohol, they're staying another hour.
00:59:40And that increases your revenues.
00:59:42It increases your length of stay.
00:59:44It also increases the socialization that happens within bars, which is the fuel of our industry.
00:59:49So it's good in every conceivable way.
00:59:51But let's not discount that I think cannabis is playing somewhat of a part in this shift to non-alcoholic as well.
00:59:58Interesting.
