26:45Actually, my cousin, he's actually, you know,
26:48always pushed me and pushed me and myself.
26:50I push myself a lot, actually.
26:53It's a lot more difficult than you actually think it is,
26:55so I'm glad we had the experience, actually.
26:56Christina and Tatiana tanked at the lesson,
27:00but made a major comeback at the challenge

27:16But the winner of the challenge is Christina.

27:23and so I'm just, like, kind of bummed a little bit.
27:25There's something else that comes with winning this challenge,
27:28but you have to pick a friend to enjoy it with.

27:33Their prize was a visit from some special guests.

28:17Having Brittany and Christina's moms around made Kaelin miss her family.

28:35In a chilling coincidence, that week's photo shoot took place in a cemetery.

28:48Kaelin tried to keep her emotions in check, but having to pose in an open grave pushed her
28:52over the edge.
29:03Kaelin was able to use her rage to embody the deadly sin of wrath and put it in her photograph.

29:16In the end, Kaelin pushed through her grief for a stunning photograph.
29:20But Tatiana couldn't make the grave.
29:23Tatiana, on a global level, even for the United States, is not top model.

30:21The girls were excited to begin their South African adventure.

30:28But Michelle felt as alone on the plane, as she often felt in the house.
30:34I think the girls perceive me as a loner, and I've been trying to connect with them more.

30:51When the girls got to South Africa, the determined Michelle tried to relate.
30:55You read the packet it said, when you're in a conversation, don't put your hands in your pocket.
30:59You cut up your don't point with your index finger.
31:02Well, that's the same rule as in America.
31:04We can do that in America either.
31:05That night, the girls had some quiet time to reflect.
31:10I've learned more in this past month from you guys than I think I have in school or, you know, anything.
31:15Because this experience just kind of throws everything at you at once.
31:18Oh, yeah.
31:19From the very first start of this, I was a little more timid-side, sort of.
31:24Well, this experience kind of, like, makes you confront who you are.
31:28Oh, yeah.
31:28Not the person that you pretend to be on the outside.
31:30It makes you deal with the person that you are.
31:32I think Michelle's made the most progress out of any of us.
31:35You know, picture after picture, she's like, Michelle, is that you?
31:38The only thing that Michelle needs now is to learn how to just relax and let some of those nerves out and some of the tension out.
31:45Kenya had concerns of her own, like her recent weight gain.
31:49You're not too fast, you gain that, and you're getting to the major stress.
31:52Kenya can snack like no other.
31:54She has gained about 10 pounds.
31:56So, you think tomorrow if I don't eat?
31:58No, don't ever not eat.
32:00It's like you've been gaining weight.
32:01You just haven't been watching what you eat.
32:02She can jump through, which has tons of sodium, retaining tons of water.
32:06At the photo shoot later that day, Kenya had to portray an elephant with a revealing costume.
32:11The stomach is exposed, it's bloated.
32:14I have to just try to suck it in and work it.
32:17For the judging challenge, the girls had to pose with an object while displaying an emotion.
32:21Naima almost nailed it.
32:23Michelle looked nervous.
32:24Michelle, you look quite scared the whole time.
32:26Kaylin and Christina lacked passion, so Janice decided to show them how it's done.
32:34I can get involved.
32:40That's just all.
32:41That's just girls having fun.

32:43That's awesome.
32:44During evaluations, Kenya's picture was a big problem.
32:47This photo is really beautiful, Kenya, but I hate to say it.
32:49They had to do a lot of body work on you and retouching.
32:52I think it's all about choices, Kenya.
32:54You can get a burger and take the bread off.
32:56But in the end, this competition proved too much for Michelle.
32:59Michelle, being a top model means being under pressure constantly.
33:03We're not sure if you're strong enough for that.
33:05So we had to send her home.
33:13Back at the hotel, Naima and Christina plotted to put a little passion into Kaylin's confession.
33:18I'm becoming more comfortable with my own, you know, under my skin.

33:59Like, sometimes I really see Christina just have fun and just, like, joke around and play.
34:05And, like, it's difficult for her to bring that person with her to panel.
34:10When I dropped by for dinner, Christina's coldness was the topic of discussion.
34:14Like, when I'm with these girls, like, I'm so happy and so warm and so funny and stuff.
34:18But when I get in that room, I feel like, for some reason, I hold back when it comes to panel.
34:22And I don't know if it's nerves, intimidation, what it is.
34:24But it's like, I see myself as a totally different person every time I'm in that room.
34:27You have to just pretend we're sitting there in our underwear.
34:29You and your underwear are going to be beautiful, so that's not going to help.
34:34The next day, the girls went on go-sees with the top people in the South African fashion industry.
34:39I'm a little nervous to go in there and have to sell yourself because that's one thing I'm honestly not really good at.
34:44Once again, Christina had trouble warming up.
34:50Kaylin had trouble being edgy.
34:52If you look at your pictures, it looks very innocent.
34:54I think at the moment in South Africa, we definitely got more on edge to it.
34:59But Kenya had no trouble at all being competitive.
35:02Now, you know, I was there first.
35:03I can't say, Kaylin, but I should just wait.
35:04But it's a competition.
35:05Hi.
35:06And Kenya, literally pushing her competitors out of the way.
35:09Sure.
35:10Kenya's very competitive.
35:11That's just how she is.
35:12And I think she feels like she has to step it up even more to make up for her weight.
35:16At the photo shoot, Kaylin still struggles.
35:19Hey, do you feel sexy today?
35:21I don't believe you.
35:22And Kenya was quick to point out Kaylin's faults.
35:26But one thing that I guess you were challenged with today, which was your innocence again.
35:30Remember our ghosty thing?
35:31They said lots of innocence, innocence, innocence.
35:33Yeah, that was just one girl, though.
35:35With Kenya, I feel like she has to cut other people down to make herself feel better about herself.
35:40As the weeks go on, I just, I can't take it.
35:42And although Christina bared her body, she had a hard time baring her soul.
35:47If you walk through my door as an agent, I don't know how I'd sell you because I'm not feeling anything from you.
35:52I don't know where confidence meets cold.
35:54But what we want to see is fire coming from within.
35:58And you're not getting it at all.
35:59So she was sent home.
36:01I know I'm not this cold.
36:03Like, reserved person.
36:06And I just don't know, I don't understand what happened to me.
36:08Being in South Africa made Kenya proud to get in touch with her roots.
36:16It's good to come here.
36:18Not that it's more important to me than them because they're not black.
36:20I'm black.

36:22And I do feel like this is my home.
36:23This is where my roots are.
36:25To me, you know, being black, I was like, that's something that I have to do before I die.
36:29I have to go to Africa.
36:30I've heard her say it so many times.
36:32It just means so much to me because I'm black.
36:33And it's just like, okay, all right, great.
36:35I know this experience means a lot to Naima as well.
36:39The tension grew on a trip to Nelson Mandela's former prison cell.
36:42One of you ladies will have the pleasure to open Mr. Mandela's cell.
36:47Kenya wanted to unlock it.
36:49She thinks just because she's black one that she deserves to open it.
36:53I don't really think of Naima as black.
36:55I just don't see that in her.
36:58My father is black and Mexican Indian.
37:01And my mom is black and Irish.
37:04I'm not the typical black girl, but it means a lot for me being here.

37:11That's the courage of that one man kept us going.
37:14I didn't even think that Kenya knew who he was.
37:17She doesn't know if he's alive or not.
37:19So I didn't understand why she was getting so emotional.
37:21And later, the tension exploded.
37:25When he gave her the heat, you cried about it.
37:27You didn't even know if he was still alive or not.
37:31It was an emotional moment for me.
37:32If you were not in my shoes, you don't know how I felt at that moment.
37:35You are just taking this because you're black.

37:45The fighting took its toll on Brittany, and she wasn't herself during judging.
