00:00America's Next Top Model is...
00:05Eva.
00:07Tonight on this special edition of America's Next Top Model,
00:10we'll sit down with our new cover girl.
00:13It has definitely changed my life.
00:15Catch up with some familiar faces
00:17and focus on fresh starts.
00:19This is the life.
00:21For our girls, the goal of being a top model
00:23didn't end with elimination.
00:25They're willing to face big changes,
00:27tough challenges.
00:29All of them say,
00:30lose two or three inches off your hips.
00:31And heartbreaking choices...
00:33Buzzfeed buzz.
00:35...in order to live their ultimate dream.
00:38Coming up on America's Next Top Model,
00:41what the divas are doing now.
00:59We started with 14 amazing women from every part of the country.
01:13The Big Apple, Small Town Oklahoma, Southern California, and North Dakota.
01:30And representing every kind of beauty.
01:32We had a sleek athlete, a plus size stunner, a willowy dancer, and an ethereal mother.
01:38But it was always the pizazz and personality of our winner, the amazing Eva the diva,
01:44that stood out and made her a star.
01:47I'm standing there next to Yahya, and we're both crying, and we're both anxious.
01:51And she says, America's Next Top Model is...
01:54And my picture flashes.
01:56And I was...
01:57I couldn't even look over there to see who the picture was,
01:59because I was so scared.
02:00And I look over, and that moment was so surreal to me.
02:03It was so unreal.
02:04I was absolutely speechless.
02:06All I could do was keep thanking God and say,
02:08my mom's gonna be so happy.
02:11I go straight to the finale party in Los Angeles,
02:13hitting the red carpet, and immediately I am on a red-eye flight straight to New York.
02:19Signing out, getting up at 4.30 this morning.
02:22Signing off with Kiss FM.
02:24America's Next Top Model!
02:26Hey!
02:27I did the early show.
02:30Going into this competition with all these other beautiful ladies,
02:32your determination and your confidence has to be through the roof.
02:36I did the Regent and Kelly.
02:38Everything that you can imagine, it was so much.
02:41I was like, oh my gosh, is this what stars do?
02:44This is crazy.
02:46I'm most excited about meeting Ford, because that's gonna be my new family.
02:49The winner is getting a big, fat contract
02:52with the top international modeling agency, Ford Models.
02:56Congratulations.
02:57Thank you so much.
02:58Welcome.
03:00I am at my new agency.
03:05And it's got Polaroids taken for my book.
03:08You have to have your wits about you, and you have to be, you know, determined.
03:12And I am.
03:13It's so much more than just your face being out there.
03:16You're watched now.
03:17You're idolized.
03:19Beautiful girls.
03:20How you doing?
03:21I'm looking at home.
03:22Hi.
03:23What you decide to put out there is the way you will be portrayed
03:26and the way other little girls will pick that up.
03:28Hi, beautiful.
03:29Can I have you all of us?
03:30Sure.
03:31What's your name?
03:32Alexandra.
03:33And my job is to be that positive role model
03:36and that positive example for those little girls.
03:39Looking back at myself, it has definitely changed my life.
03:44It definitely gave me a huge reality check.
03:47And one thing I learned is the way I come across to other people.
03:50It hurt me and it hurt Narelle that you said that you hope she did bad.
03:53Then I have to wonder, do you sit there and go talk to her about me?
03:55She said to don't even.
03:57Don't.
03:58Don't even.
03:59I have never.
04:00Don't even.
04:01You're so lying.
04:02I was very fortunate to be able to see that.
04:03It allowed me to check myself and to take a whole different approach.
04:07My mom has always told me, too much is given, much is required.
04:10So I'm put on this pedestal, but I have a lot of work to do while I'm up here.
04:13Throughout the night, we'll be checking in on Eva's journey.
04:17But now let's focus on the futures of her former competitors.
04:20First is Anne, the tough but vulnerable girl whose rivalry with Eva almost destroyed their friendship.
04:26Toast to the tattoo.
04:27It's going to be between me and you.
04:29Let's get her done.
04:30Now, Anne is the perfect example of classic good looks that the camera just couldn't capture.
04:37But this competitive athlete never quit.
04:40First to Eva, Miss Eva Diva.
04:44I'm proud of you.
04:45And I'm going to cry.
04:47You know, we have worked things out.
04:51And I just want you to know that I support you in everything you do.
04:54Hey everybody, I'm proud of her.
04:55She won.
04:56The whole experience of Top Model was amazing to me.
04:57Everything we did, I cherished and valued because it's something you've never, you know,
05:10it's like you're being handed all this.
05:11Girls work their entire lives to work with the photographers.
05:13Focus, focus.
05:14To do the shoots that we did and it's like we're being handed this.
05:17And, you know, you just have to say I'm thankful for everything we did.
05:21To be in a pool or to be in a body of water is a second home team.
05:27We'd always be in the water.
05:29It's just something I've been very familiar with.
05:31Once Ann got her feet in the water to play water polo,
05:36that really set fire under her as far as her love of sports.
05:41Because I've been an athlete, I've always been like,
05:43okay, I'm going to mess you up.
05:44Like you see on the show me telling Jennifer,
05:46don't touch me, I'll whoop your ass.
05:47Get me out of the way.
05:48Don't ever touch me again or else you'll get knocked out.
05:51Oh, I'd like to see it.
05:52She had to learn to be tough.
05:55And I think in the end it has really done her well.
05:59She's had to compete to win.
06:01When I went into top model, I was kind of like,
06:03oh, this is easy, you know, I'm just going to go and print that model
06:06and it's going to be easy and I'm going to have a blast.
06:09And it was like, it was really actually quite hard.
06:12What on earth is going on?
06:14You look like you're fast asleep, like you're bored.
06:16I learned that it's not easy and it's not going to be easy.
06:20I don't think Ann is photogenic and it's such a disappointment.
06:24I think Ann is photogenic.
06:25She just doesn't know what the hell to do with her face or her body.
06:28If you want to do this and if you want to be a model,
06:31you have to just accept that and work around it and make that work.
06:34But you're not going to tear me down.
06:36You know, if I listened to all these people that have always told me
06:38I was going to fail, I'd be not even on this show.
06:41It's not about, you know, I didn't win top models so I failed.
06:45No, it's about I made it to the fourth place spot, you know,
06:49and that's the best I could do at that time.
06:51Erie is a great town to grow up in, but it's too small for me.
06:55I'm going to become a real top model.
06:57I'm moving to New York to pursue a modeling career,
07:00and I was actually contacted by elite models in New York.
07:05So I'm kind of anxious to see if I'll actually like it.
07:09Up next, Amanda.
07:11Now all the girls in America's Next Top Model faced obstacles,
07:14but one of them had a particular burden to overcome.
07:17My name's Amanda Swafford.
07:23I enjoy long walks on the beach.
07:26Great.
07:27We got it.
07:28Candlelight dinners and snuggle.
07:30I say hello.
07:33Love.
07:34Yeah.
07:35You.
07:36What kind of a person do you think you would be in the house?
07:38I'm the mama.
07:39You know, I've got a two-year-old son.
07:41He's going to be two June 7th.
07:44When I first heard about the show, I was living in Hendersonville
07:48with my father Tobias and Eli and I.
07:51Here we are at my house in Hendersonville.
07:53I was just like literally stuck on the side of a mountain
07:56and not doing anything.
07:59I saw the commercial for the open call,
08:02and I was like, shoo, I'm not doing anything else.
08:05You know?
08:07I definitely wanted to model ever since I could talk.
08:12I'm like the sixth grade.
08:14I'm like in my like really awkward, dorky stage
08:16that everybody goes through.
08:17You know, like goopy teeth, big glasses, you know.
08:20She was 14 and I took her to have her glasses.
08:23Her prescription changed.
08:24And the optometrist told me she had the retinitis pigmentosa.
08:30When you're 14, you're looking forward to driving
08:32and the boys and moving on with your life and everything
08:35and then hearing that you're going to go blind, you know?
08:38That's a pretty heavy sack of rocks to drag around.
08:41She'd go down the hall and to turn into the bathroom,
08:44she'd run into the wall, and that was devastating.
08:47I'm legally blind.
08:48And I'm going to be about 30 when I go completely blind.
08:53I'm not going to let anything get in my way,
08:56even what sets me back a couple of steps.
08:59That means I've just got to take bigger, stronger steps.
09:03Beautiful.
09:04You are rocking this young lady, rocking this.
09:08I'm going to be going to New York on Monday
09:12and go around, do the agency thing,
09:15and hopefully I'll know who wants me then.
09:18Come on, you're going with me.
09:20No.
09:21No.
09:22No?
09:23When I was getting on the plane in Asheville.
09:25Come on, sweetheart.
09:26And I was like,
09:27Mama's going to go bye-bye.
09:28No.
09:29No.
09:30No.
09:31He wouldn't say goodbye to me.
09:33Bye.
09:34Bye.
09:35And that hurt a lot.
09:38This is my first subway ride.
09:50So when I got to New York, I had my appointment set up.
09:54The guy that I met with, he was really nice.
09:57He really liked my face.
09:59So he's going to show the digital pictures that he took,
10:01and hopefully when all the other agents see me,
10:04they'll love me.
10:06So that's a good thing.
10:13I love you too.
10:14Bye-bye.
10:18You know, he's sick.
10:20He's doing okay.
10:21He's like just coughing and stuff like that,
10:24so it makes me want to be home.
10:25It's like he eats me.
10:28What's most important to me right now is being with my son.
10:32I love you too.
10:33And I don't want to leave him for like months on end, you know,
10:36just to maybe make some money and be in some, you know,
10:40magazines and pictures and stuff.
10:42That's not what life's about to me right now.
10:46I just want to be happy.
10:47And what's going to make me happy right now is being with my son.
10:49I...
10:50I...
10:51I...
10:52Love...
10:54That's my boy.
10:57I'm coming home, baby.
10:59I love you.
11:00I love you.
11:09Coming up, America's newest cover girl.
11:11Welcome to cover girl.
11:13And our runner-up, Yaya, is off and running.
11:16For the first time in all three cycles of America's Next Top Model,
11:26we had two African-American women in the finals.
11:29They represented the best of the bunch.
11:32Brains, beauty, incredible photos, and of course, magnetic personalities.
11:37Now, Eva emerged the winner,
11:39but there was no doubt that the fashion world would find room for Miss Yaya too.
11:43Yes, love that.
11:46African royalty.
11:48Yaya takes a beautiful picture effortlessly.
11:51Yaya!
11:52I won five competitions.
11:54Yaya.
11:55I don't feel so much like a celebrity, but I feel like everybody knows me.
12:00Oh, my God.
12:01I want you to win.
12:03And they'll just come up to me,
12:05Hey, how you doing, Yaya?
12:06Yeah, what you been up to?
12:07As soon as the show ended, I had a cameo on EVE.
12:11UPN sitcom.
12:13Love, Eve.
12:14She's so great with her.
12:15Grants, be a love.
12:17A little help with the PA system, please.
12:21Recently, I got a job doing an Isaac Mizrahi advertisement for Target.
12:27And I just did a shoot with Essence magazine.
12:30I always knew that I wanted to be on stage or in front of the camera.
12:37Modeling, it's an experience, and I'm learning from it.
12:41But I don't want to divorce the other things that make me mean, that make me happy doing.
12:47Buenos dias.
12:49Buenos dias, señorita Yaya.
12:52We are now at the Central Hall of Montessori School, where my mother is the director.
12:57And I work here part-time, helping out with the kids.
12:59Today is Monday, January 17th.
13:02And the Central Hall of Montessori School is open today.
13:05Happy Martin Luther King Day.
13:07March Luther King was a mighty, mighty man.
13:11A mighty, mighty man was he.
13:14Education was the main value that we wanted to have our children be part of.
13:20And we all were happy when she graduated Brown University in May 2004.
13:25Los dias de la semana.
13:29With most of the students, I now teach Spanish.
13:31And with a couple of them whose first language is Spanish, I teach French.
13:35Carot.
13:36Carot.
13:37Carot.
13:38Every week, the children watch the show.
13:41And every Thursday morning, we have to have a discussion about Yaya and what went on.
13:46They made her look like she was actually a China person when she went to China.
13:53Where did I go?
13:55Japan.
13:56Okay.
13:57Oh boy, you better know you're talking to me.
14:00Even though she didn't win, she could have won.
14:03And she got really close to winning and I really liked about that.
14:07I think my most vivid memory is the tea ceremony in Japan.
14:12It was really difficult.
14:14And it was also a really calming, almost spiritual experience.
14:19I'm always keeping in mind the things that keep me grounded.
14:24You know, it's really nice to be living so close to home.
14:27And my daddy!
14:28This is daddy.
14:29The best father in the world.
14:34Every time they would have a fashion show, a play that they would write, a dance that
14:41they would choreograph, then their mother and I would sit on the couch and we would get
14:46ready for the curtain.
14:47Showtime!
14:48Showtime!
14:49Showtime!
14:50Showtime!
14:56There are so many different things that I want to do with my life.
14:59I just don't know where to start, but I think this is a great, great place to be right now.
15:04And I'm going to just embrace it and just use it to its fullest.
15:09Modeling is something that I'm very excited about doing.
15:16Even when we went to the finale party and the show was over and Eva had won, there's competition.
15:21Who looks better?
15:22Who's lost weight since we saw each other last?
15:24Who's had a photo shoot?
15:26We're all sort of like, I can't believe they got farther than me.
15:29I mean, it's just kind of cutthroat.
15:31Kristi, head up to the light.
15:32I guess I learned that I'm more sensitive than I thought.
15:35Kristi was nervous.
15:37There's little things that they would say to you that just stay in your head forever.
15:41I get a sense of Carol Burnett with the jaw.
15:44It's a process to get it out of your head and to move on and say like,
15:47it's not me, that's not what makes me and I can't change my chin.
15:52In Touch, they do this issue about reality stars reliving the famous moments of the year.
15:58Hi!
15:59Myself and then three of the girls from the season before me,
16:02Mercedes and Katie and Shandy.
16:04We remade this moment from the final episode of Sex and the City.
16:09I was a really big fan of Sex and the City when it first came on.
16:13Top model, yeah!
16:16I was Miranda and it was really fun.
16:23I go to NYU.
16:24I'm a directing student and I'm directing my second play this semester.
16:27It's Taming of the Shrew.
16:29I want to go to school and I want to model.
16:31I want to be able to do both.
16:35It's like a little roller coaster, you know?
16:36It's just, I've never had that much stress in my life and that's probably the hardest thing to deal with.
16:40So you have no problem with us chopping all of it off to right here.
16:44That was kind of the saddest moment, you know?
16:49But you cope with it.
16:52But when they said blonde, I just about crapped.
16:55I absolutely hated the blonde hair.
16:58Being in New York is totally different than being in Idaho.
17:01Pocatello is where I'm from.
17:03Pocatello is a small town.
17:05And if you like skiing or hunting, you know?
17:09You know, it's good.
17:10If you want to model, there's nothing there at all.
17:11They have local fashion shows, but that's not going to ever get you anywhere.
17:14It's not my type of atmosphere.
17:17If I wanted to be real low-key, it would probably be a fun little resort town, but I want to model.
17:21I can't live in Idaho.
17:23But moving to New York, you know, it's still cold.
17:25I wish I was moving somewhere hotter.
17:31I'm on the red carpet, and I'm living every minute of it.
17:35Look at all these people!
17:37They're here to see me!
17:39I just really wanted to show them that you can come from North Dakota and not be anything,
17:45and then all of a sudden, you know, like, holy crap, we've missed North Dakota this whole time.
17:49There's a gold mine there.
17:51I think in order to be a successful model, you have to stand out.
17:56Oh, there you are!
17:58And if Tyra can't remember that I'm there, and there's only six of us standing there, that's not good.
18:06Since I got eliminated, I decided that maybe this isn't my forte, and so I'm going to try acting.
18:12I think that if I can give a personality in the audition, there's going to be more of a chance that I'll be successful.
18:21Now let's check in on Eva's journey.
18:23It goes to the finale, and I get to my last reporter at People Magazine, and this lady opens up the magazine to my double page ad of CoverGirl.
18:33That is when I knew I had made it.
18:36I am CoverGirl Eva.
18:41So excited. Oh my gosh.
18:42So I go to CoverGirl this morning, and I walk in.
18:45I mean, the heads of CoverGirl, I mean, they fly in just for this one meeting.
18:48We are looking forward to a lot of wonderful things between you and CoverGirl.
18:53And there's this huge picture, and I am in between Queen Latifah and Molly Sims.
19:00Oh my God! Oh my God! I turned around and I almost died like, that is me! That is me! Oh my God! It's amazing.
19:07Welcome to CoverGirl!
19:11Not only am I America's Next Top Model great, but I am a CoverGirl.
19:16And that to me is, that's everything.
19:20Competing on America's Next Top Model changes all of the girls in profound ways.
19:24For Cassie, it meant going back to her old life, but with a new attitude.
19:32I know that when I do go back to college, I'm going to have to have a job.
19:35But I'm going to try my hardest to get a real job.
19:37I might look like the All-American girl, but I don't have the All-American job because I'm a stripper.
19:42I'm not going back to stripping.
19:44If I have anything to do with it, you ain't going back.
19:47I promised my mom I wouldn't do it again, and I'm going to try to honor that promise.
19:50So this is the University of Oklahoma campus. This is where I go to school.
19:56It's a great school, a beautiful campus.
19:58I love the people that I've met here, and I've made a life for myself in Oklahoma.
20:02Hello, baby. What's up?
20:04CJ. He's my first boyfriend ever in life, so I think there's a major connection there.
20:10If I'm the spaghetti, she's like the marinara sauce. I mean, we just complement each other really well.
20:15Nice right there. Good. I love that.
20:17If it came down to my career versus CJ, it would be my career, only because CJ would not let me stop chasing it.
20:27Those are my sentiments exactly.
20:30Modeling is my dream, and New York is where it's at.
20:33I've been meeting with agents all day throughout New York.
20:36I'm Darren.
20:37Hi. Nice to meet you.
20:38Nice to meet you.
20:39What I'd like to do is I'd like to show your book to the other bookers.
20:42Do you know what your measurements are?
20:43Um, 32, 25, and 36.
20:47Yeah, I'm gonna measure you if you don't mind.
20:49Everyone wants to measure me.
20:51Everyone has to say something about my hips.
20:53I prefer a smaller hip.
20:56Well, I've met with about seven or eight agencies so far, and a couple I've been promising, but all of them say come back when you lose like two or three inches off your hips.
21:06And so I'm gonna spend this spring semester getting in shape, losing weight hopefully.
21:10I have had several times where I've thrown up in the past, but I never considered myself bulimic because I didn't throw up after every meal.
21:18Did you ever talk to anybody about that?
21:20Mm-mm.
21:21I don't have bulimia.
21:22I've never had bulimia.
21:23Actually, I run every day.
21:25I do the low-carb diet.
21:27I'm doing things properly to lose weight.
21:29I really do want to finish my degree, but modeling is number one right now.
21:34Inches are something that you can lose, and you can't lose a dream to be a model.
21:39Coming up, Eva the Diva goes undercover.
21:44Hey, dicks!
21:45Have I died and gone to heaven?
21:47It is so unreal.
21:48And we head home with a plus-size personality.
21:51I said, stop it!
21:52You got it from her mama.
21:54Now you start being full figure.
22:02When I first started out, models had to be skinny, because that's the idea of beauty they were supposed to be.
22:08But the industry is a-changing, and so is the definition of what it means to be beautiful.
22:13Plus-size models are among the most successful in the business.
22:17And judging by her bigger-than-life personality, Miss Takara could be the biggest star of all.
22:22Hey!
22:23Hi!
22:24I'm here!
22:25I'm here!
22:26I'm here!
22:27I'm Takara.
22:28I'm big, black, beautiful, and loving it.
22:29And I am America's next top plus-size model.
22:31Wow.
22:32That's good.
22:33This is the life that I wanted.
22:35I love that.
22:36I live in New York, and I'm modeling, and it was just like, wow.
22:37Today, I did Asher's store.
22:38It's a plus-size model line.
22:39And I was so excited, because it's my first.
22:40It is.
22:41Hold it.
22:42My first professional modeling job.
22:43I want everybody to know, this man does higher makeup makeup, and he does my makeup too.
22:45I'm a celebrity.
22:46I would like to thank my mama and my daddy.
22:47And it doesn't matter if you're plus-size or not.
22:48It's just if you have a shape, it's okay to have a shape.
22:49You know, because real women have shapes.
22:50Oh!
22:51Oh!
22:52Oh!
22:53Oh!
22:54Oh!
22:55Oh!
22:56Oh!
22:57Oh!
22:58Oh!
22:59Oh!
23:00Oh!
23:01Oh!
23:02Oh!
23:03Oh!
23:04Oh!
23:05Oh!
23:06Oh!
23:07Oh!
23:08Oh!
23:09Oh!
23:10Oh!
23:11Oh!
23:12Oh!
23:13Oh!
23:14Oh!
23:15Oh!
23:16So sexy.
23:17I'm so confident.
23:18Wow!
23:19We did a great job today.
23:20Thank you!
23:21That's great.
23:22Like this one?
23:23I am so excited!
23:24You would've never known this was your first one.
23:26That's a wrap!
23:27That's a wrap!
23:28I'm from Dagen, Ohio, born and raised.
23:30And going back home, I guess maybe as a safety net, because everyone knows me.
23:36Oh!
23:37I'm so excited!
23:38And a lot of people ask me, like, where did you get your personality from?
23:40You got it from her mama.
23:41I got it from her mama!
23:42You can see it right there.
23:44Yeah!
23:45It ain't her fault!
23:46Aww!
23:47People just call and say, Tony, you cooking?
23:49It's good to say mama.
23:50And she say, okay, I'll cook.
23:51And then it just turned into a big family gathering just because.
23:54My good old bacon.
23:55I made this.
23:56This is where you start off from being full figure.
23:58This is how you get it.
23:59That's how you start being full figure.
24:01I'm in LA right now, and I'm guest starting on All of Us, and I'm so excited.
24:07And I'm getting paid.
24:08Mm-hmm.
24:09Alex, stand by, please.
24:10Here we go, guys.
24:11Stand by.
24:12So, what other events are we covering this month?
24:15We have a very exciting lineup.
24:17We're sending camera crews to the Victoria's Secret lingerie show and the Westminster Dog
24:23Show.
24:24Wow!
24:25It sounds great.
24:26It sounds good.
24:27What do you guys think?
24:28This is my new career.
24:29Wait!
24:30You know what's the plan?
24:31Yay!
24:34I like my life.
24:35I just want the world for her.
24:38Whatever comes, I just want it.
24:40I just want all that she wants out of my life.
24:43Look out, America.
24:44You're going to see a whole lot more of me.
24:46Fabulous!
24:47F-A-T-O!
24:51My Delena.
24:54I went back to school, so I'm finishing up my last year.
24:57I'll be done soon, and I'm pursuing modeling.
25:01That's what I want to do.
25:02Hi, Delena.
25:03Can you chin up a little bit?
25:04My knee was constantly shaking, and I was so nervous.
25:07And I was just like, oh, God.
25:10This envelope has one name in it.
25:12Model.
25:13It sucks being the first one eliminated.
25:18I don't really think it's going to affect me pursuing my modeling career.
25:23If anything, it helps me a little bit, because it kind of puts my foot in the door.
25:26I mean, at least they'd be like, well, we did see you for a couple seconds.
25:31I have little girls come to me like, you look exactly like that girl from America's Next Top Model.
25:36I'm like, really?
25:37I get that a lot.
25:39I went in there thinking, dude, I'm the only Indian here.
25:41I'm going to totally win this.
25:42Like, no doubt.
25:46I think I would have done better if I had not said what I did.
25:49I want to know why you want to be a model.
25:52Honestly, it's for me to get into this industry and to learn more about it.
25:55For me to start my own apparel manufacturing company.
25:57Wait, wait, wait.
25:58You want to start a manufacturing company?
25:59Yeah.
26:00So many people come up to me and be like, you are such an idiot.
26:03It was the wrong time.
26:04Yeah, wrong place to be honest.
26:06Okay, thanks, Julie.
26:07I'm planning on finishing up my associate's parts degree at Belby Community College.
26:11Going to New York and doing an internship for like a manufacturing company.
26:15And also do modeling on the side.
26:18America is not the last you've seen of Curry Mama.
26:24Next we have Leah.
26:26I call her the soccer mom.
26:27I mean, nobody likes to be cut.
26:30You know, you're in front of the panel and they're telling you what you did wrong and it's hard to be critiqued.
26:36Knowing that, okay, I'm standing up here and telling me all this stuff.
26:40And on the sideline, America's watching.
26:42Just, you know, P.S.
26:44I'm good.
26:45My name's Leah.
26:46I'm definitely going to pursue modeling.
26:47This is the first time I've done like a professional shoot outside of the show.
26:50Should I get hair and makeup ready now?
26:52I'm more conscious about my soccer mom image now.
26:57So I've tried to change little things.
26:59FHM contacted me for hometown honeys, which is great because I'm from Norman, Oklahoma.
27:08And it's a small town.
27:11Being on America's Next Top Model, yeah, it's changed me.
27:16It's definitely changed me, but it's positive.
27:18It's good.
27:19I like it.
27:20There are a lot of different paths you can take toward becoming a model, but most roads run through New York City, a fashion capital that's home to some of the most influential designers, agencies, and publications in the world.
27:33But making the move can mean making some sacrifices and leaving some loved ones behind.
27:38So it helps to have some friendly faces around.
27:42I'm Anne from Season 3 of America's Next Top Model.
27:45What is this?
27:46This is my girl Leah.
27:47And we're here today moving into our place in Brooklyn.
27:53It's definitely not the wall doors.
27:56We've got Anne and Jen and myself and Cassie's coming to visit us.
27:59They were like, hey, you know, why not make our two-bedroom place have four people, you know?
28:03It's free.
28:04It's not that.
28:05No, it's not.
28:06We couldn't ask for, like, better roommates.
28:07We're actually supportive.
28:08Like, we want our roommates to do well.
28:11I just don't have a door.
28:12I don't see it there.
28:13I just noticed that this door doesn't really shut.
28:18Oh, wait.
28:19You can kind of just sneak in there.
28:22Oh, the place.
28:23It's a cheap place.
28:24It's got character.
28:25It's fun.
28:26Potential for character.
28:27Potential for character.
28:28I mean, it's not bad just for a place to, like, while you're getting started.
28:31Start out.
28:32Because we don't have a lot of money right now.
28:35I know.
28:36So do you want to book us so we can make some money?
28:38We live right there.
28:39Yeah.
28:41Grew up with three brothers, no sisters.
28:43Mom and dad, who are happily still married.
28:45Growing up in Los Angeles.
28:47It's Hollywood, you know?
28:48I got Hollywood right next door, so I didn't have an opportunity to see the movie stars and the actors and singers on a regular basis.
28:54I definitely want to get into acting.
28:56I want to get into movies and television.
28:58I'm going to give you a scene to do.
29:00We were going to be reading with...
29:02Tay Dicks!
29:03Tay walked out and, oh my God, I just about died.
29:07Tay Dicks!
29:09What?
29:10We have to lay in this hospital bed.
29:12And I'm supposed to be a doctor, actually, dying of a disease that I don't even know how to pronounce.
29:19And the prognosis for reconstructive cardiomyopathy with all these illsnesses.
29:25I said illsnesses?
29:26What is illsnesses?
29:28There were so many words, and I'm sitting here like, the supercalifragilisticexpialidocious disease has taken over my body.
29:38I had no idea that I'll be guest starring with the Tay on Kevin Hill.
29:42How did you even manage to get me in here last night?
29:45Through the living room, all the way to your bedroom.
29:47I could not fathom the idea in a million years.
29:50I'm going to work, and my job is to be next to this man?
29:53What?
29:54Have I died and gone to heaven?
29:56It is so unreal.
29:57Is that on?
29:58Are you getting me with the top model?
30:00Just the top model, are you getting it?
30:02I'm not intimidated that I have the confidence that I can do this, and I've been like that my whole life.
30:07She's my daughter.
30:08I know she can do it, so I'm not surprised.
30:10This is not fearful for her, to be in front of the camera.
30:13Eva loves the attention.
30:14Eva loves to walk into the room, and everyone wants to hear what she has to say.
30:19Eva loves the spotlight.
30:21Thank God it was Eva the diva.
30:23Maybe you can show me one or two this afternoon.
30:26Maybe I can.
30:29I think that all the skills that she's picked up modeling obviously have served her in good stead.
30:32She has incredible presence.
30:33She's not too bad to look at either.
30:35And I thought that that was going to be the end of it.
30:37And I look over, and the guy's like,
30:38Hey, I'm the executive producer of Kevin Hill.
30:40I saw your dailies.
30:41We love you.
30:42Because they didn't know if I could act.
30:43It was kind of like a trial run, you know?
30:45And the verdict is in.
30:47Eva's good!
30:50Coming up, Eva's first big photo shoot.
30:53And will Norelle be Asia's next top model?
30:56I'm a top model.
30:57I'm a top model.
30:58I'm a top model.
31:03Travel is a huge part of the modeling business.
31:07And a top model has to do more than just adapt to working in a foreign country.
31:11She has to flourish there.
31:12And it's a lot tougher than it seems.
31:14Just ask Norelle.
31:15I always wanted to be that beautiful girl in the magazine.
31:18You know, I never felt like I was.
31:19But now I can feel like I can be that beautiful girl in the magazine.
31:22What I learned most about myself is that I'm a lot more determined than I give myself credit
31:27for.
31:28And I'm a lot more amazing than I give myself credit for.
31:30Here we are at my agency that I just recently signed with.
31:32New in LA.
31:33Come look at your new, beautiful new pictures.
31:34I'm excited!
31:35You're going to love them.
31:36I have a real book!
31:37Yeah?
31:38We love Norelle.
31:39She just has these enormous, beautiful blue-green eyes.
31:40So, we really noticed her from the beginning.
31:41It looks so good.
31:42Doesn't it look great?
31:43Yeah, I like it.
31:44She's got a great body for swimwear.
31:46She's got the height for runway.
31:48She's got the height for runway.
31:50She's got the length of the runway.
31:53She's got the height for runway.
31:55She's got the height for runway.
31:57She's got the height for runway.
32:02She's got the look for catalog, but also has amazing features for fashion.
32:07The photographer labeled those pictures sexy.
32:10I sent Norelle's book to Asia today.
32:14And it's evident looking at her and being in the business and knowing a look that works
32:18well in Asia that Norelle was going to do well there.
32:21Being thrown in that environment to me was still like a total culture shock, you know?
32:27Like I'm not used to anything that foreign.
32:29I don't know what to call them.
32:31Japanese people is from Tokyo or Tokyans.
32:34I do not eat Japanese food.
32:37If I do, I eat like Panda Express.
32:39A couple of difficult times when I knew she was having a hard time and I couldn't get to
32:46her to hug her or kiss her and let her know that I'm on her side and that, you know, it's
32:50going to be okay.
32:55My biggest issue was heels and walking in heels.
32:59I was so excited to do the Heatherette fashion show.
33:02I was just like, Norelle, please don't fall.
33:04Please don't fall.
33:05She just went down.
33:09It didn't even appear to have phased her.
33:13It absolutely made me adore her even more.
33:15I went through a lot on the show.
33:17Through all that thick and thin, it's like what I want to do and this is what I'm put here to do.
33:21I'm here to be a model.
33:23And yes, I know Panda Express is not Japanese and I do know they're not Tokyans.
33:30They're Japanese people.
33:32Of all the lessons to be learned in America's Next Top Model, one of the most difficult and
33:37in some ways the most valuable is learning how other people see you.
33:42Up next, Miss Kelly.
33:44I grew up in a place called Seagate, which is like the last gated community in New York.
33:51So this is the infamous gate of Seagate.
33:54I never made such a big deal when I said that I was from a gated community, but it's really
33:58just like any other neighborhood.
34:00All my friends, they used to say, Kelly's just a white girl with a really good tan.
34:03Love it. Embrace it.
34:04You're black.
34:05All right, look.
34:06This is a problem.
34:07Maybe there's something I need to step back with and really take in criticism.
34:11Lives together.
34:12It's definitely probably one of the most humbling experiences of my life.
34:18Oh my God.
34:19I'm hideous.
34:20You are photogenic, but the way you place your face in a picture makes you not photogenic.
34:25And you know, it was really up to me to learn something.
34:27And I did.
34:28Fabulous.
34:29Great.
34:30Love it.
34:31I think I grew up a few years in there.
34:33Hi, Mom.
34:34I think that Kelly took a rap for being a very spoiled, rich Oreo.
34:39Kelly has worked very hard for everything that she has.
34:41And when she tells you nobody just gave it to her like that, she's right.
34:45I'm a full-time student at Hunter College, and I work full-time for my gallery.
34:52Let's go visit my gallery now.
34:54Um, it's an online gallery owned and operated by Juan.
34:57This is like a...
34:58Oh, I love that!
34:59I mean, it takes a lot of work, but it's fun.
35:01And I get to sell something that I'm truly passionate about.
35:04I'm actually going to start trying to upload some of these soon.
35:07That sounds great.
35:08I'll be seeing you.
35:09Yeah, definitely.
35:10Cool.
35:11I've never had the time to go around to modeling agencies.
35:14I do that.
35:15Hi, nice to meet you.
35:16I think your look would be great for TV work.
35:19Although I'm not what they're looking for, and they're more high fashion, that's fine.
35:22It was really helpful, and I got some tips.
35:24Thank you so much.
35:25Thank you for having me.
35:26All in all, I think it went pretty well.
35:28Oh, God.
35:29I did a photo shoot for Source Magazine.
35:31And, okay, the pictures were fantastic.
35:34Like, they were so good.
35:35So it's nice and making progress.
35:40It takes hard work and some serious determination to win America's Next Top Model.
35:45But that's nothing compared to what's waiting out there in that dog-eat-dog modeling world.
35:49For Eva, winning is just the beginning, and her journey is off to an amazing start.
35:54I am here at Mark Bowers' show, backstage, getting all prepped up by the Glam Squad.
35:59Fashion Week is amazing.
36:01Hi, Handsomeness.
36:02How are you?
36:03Oh, I'm good.
36:04How are you?
36:05This is the Mark Bowers, the man.
36:06The Eva.
36:07She's the girl.
36:08What a beauty.
36:09And as though this goes, killer moves.
36:10I'm telling you.
36:11Sitting across from Yaya and Anne, it's an absolute thrill to have them here.
36:24People that I know and have gone through the whole process of Top Model with is amazing.
36:29I am beyond excited.
36:33There's a new generation of models that are coming up, and we're using all the next biggest stars.
36:40We have Anne.
36:42My life's been crazy.
36:43I'm just trying to make my mark here in New York City.
36:47And we have Yaya.
36:48I'm very excited to be here right now.
36:51I'm excited to be a part of Fashion Week.
36:53And of course, we have Eva.
36:56She has such great presence.
36:58Her skin tone is incredible.
37:00And I was looking for girls with copper-toned skin to do this whole copper group, this whole
37:04bronze group that we have, and I thought Eva would just be perfect for it.
37:08Her personality and her presence at Kilabad, can't go wrong.
37:12One of my prizes was a shoot in Elle, shot by a wonderful photographer, Joven Simon.
37:21We're at Elle Studios, and I'm about to shoot.
37:23My first spread, first of many you watch in Elle.
37:29Woo!
37:30My dreams have definitely come true.
37:32I'm sitting in my dream.
37:34It's...
37:36I'm gonna cry.
37:37I can't even describe how overwhelming it is to be where you've always wanted to be
37:42and not even know that you can achieve it.
37:44It's a dream come true.
37:50It's definitely a dream come true.
37:53Miss Eva the Divas are winner, and she's a huge star.
37:57But somebody else is waiting for a chance to share her spotlight.
38:00Don't miss the new season of America's Next Top Model.
38:03And if you think you have what it takes...
38:05Yeah, you!
38:06If you think you have what it takes to compete,
38:08log on to UPN.com, and you fill out an application.
38:11And make it good, because I'm gonna be reading it.
38:13Good luck.
