00:00America's Next Top Model is...
00:07Joanna.
00:08Not real.
00:09The competition may be over.
00:10Hi, good morning. Thank you for having me.
00:11How are you?
00:12But for 12 amazing young women, the adventure is just beginning.
00:15Right now.
00:16Who's making moves?
00:17Who's not?
00:18The show is completely just a warm-up.
00:19Now is like a real competition.
00:21We'll find out who's hot.
00:23That's sexy.
00:24I like the feeling that I get when I'm creating art with my body.
00:27Who's home?
00:29Still slinging chicken wings.
00:31I don't regret any decisions I made.
00:33And what happens next?
00:34Being on the show made me realize this is what I want to do.
00:37This is just the beginning.
00:38It's insane.
00:39It's like a dream come true.
00:40All that coming up on America's Next Top Model, The Runway Ahead.
00:59Our 12 finalist came from all over the country, from all different types of racial backgrounds, ethnic backgrounds in all shapes and sizes.
01:03Our 12 finalists came from all over the country, from all different types of racial backgrounds,
01:25ethnic backgrounds, and all shapes and sizes, and they all had something in common.
01:29They all wanted to be America's next top model.
01:31Voting a girl off every week is really, really difficult.
01:35I mean, I really bond with the girls.
01:36I learn about their personal lives, their boyfriends, their moms, their insecurities, their fears.
01:40The final vote between Ioana and Mercedes was really difficult.
01:44I mean, we were fighting back and forth.
01:46I mean, one moment, I'm actually pulling for Ioana, then five minutes later, I'm pulling for Mercedes.
01:50Mercedes was spunky.
01:51You know, her personality was so bubbly, and she just had this little tough girl, but I'm sweet at the same time.
01:57And we were like, come on, Mercedes.
01:59Come on to New York.
02:01My name is Mercedes.
02:05I am 21 years old.
02:08I weigh 120 pounds, and I have a lot of dreams.
02:14I always used to put on shows for my mom and sing and dance in the living room.
02:18I wanted to be an astronaut.
02:20I wanted to be the first black and white woman president.
02:23She's a great girl.
02:24She's got a lot of charisma, a lot of charisma, and that's important to me.
02:27She's got a great walk, too.
02:28Mercedes is a fun girl.
02:30I mean, she's silly.
02:33She likes to play with her brother.
02:34They love to, you know, have a good time together.
02:36My mom is Italian-American, and my father is African-American, and my stepfather is Chinese.
02:49Growing up in Jersey, I was the rudest girl ever.
02:52I would get into fights.
02:53I was in Posse 6-1.
02:56We lived in a tough area, actually.
02:58You had to have, like, the baggy pants, the hoop earrings with the bangs.
03:02Moving to Valencia, California was a good neighborhood, and I think that change influenced me to just be a better person.
03:09It's been a crazy turn of events.
03:11I was diagnosed with lupus, which is a chronic illness that attacks your immune system, and I don't want my roommates to know.
03:20Mercedes, lately I've noticed your energy has gone down a little.
03:24What happened to you, girl?
03:25I don't want to make excuses that I have an illness, but I do.
03:29I have lupus.
03:32After Janice revealed to the world that I had lupus, it was better because people were supportive.
03:37Mercedes has that personality that is a top model personality, and she's fighting a disease.
03:45She has these things and these experiences that you look at this sweet girl and you go, wow, I didn't know that.
03:49She really was one of the best girls on the runway.
03:51But the thing is, is does she have the face to sort of grab international markets, the whole of America?
03:57America's next top model is Joanna.
04:00I was disappointed when I was eliminated because I was looking all the way at the light at the end of the tunnel, and I didn't quite get there.
04:10It was like 10 seconds left in a basketball game.
04:12You know, that little inch.
04:14It sucks!
04:15It sucks so hard!
04:18The competition has not yet ended, folks.
04:22Joanna, I heard, is in a show this week for Fashion Week, but I got the best show.
04:26I opened up with Lloyd Klein.
04:28Thank you very much.
04:29I'm supposed to be going that way.
04:32This was Mercedes' first real fashion show.
04:35So I just finished the Mercedes-Benz fashion show, and now I'm going to audition for the Amiche, which I'm really excited because it pays $500, and I haven't had a paycheck in six months.
04:47Okay, my hopes and goals.
04:49I want to at least grace the cover on a Vogue.
04:52I would like to pursue acting, and I would like to help people with lupus.
04:56I'm just going to keep on going.
04:59Mercedes just signed with New Model Management in Los Angeles.
05:02She has an ad coming out in Seventeen Magazine, and she's starring in an independent film called Loveness.
05:11This experience has changed my life miraculously.
05:13People recognize me on the street, like, running up to me, following me in stores, shouting my name out.
05:19I am half Persian, half American.
05:22What is that?
05:24It's from Iran, mosques, it's hand-painted.
05:27I am so proud of my Persian culture, but my Iranian family, my father, who's Muslim, a model, is a whore.
05:35That's sexy.
05:36Right on.
05:37Modeling is not a job for a daughter.
05:40Sarah's relationship with her father, I see it as unfortunate.
05:43They just have not come to an agreement on, you know, how she should live her life.
05:47These will be pretty.
05:48My mom raised me from when I was just a little baby in Seattle.
05:52Same story a lot of people have.
05:54Single mom raised, not a lot of money.
05:56I hurt for Sarah, quite actually, because I think she missed out, you know, not having a dad.
06:01He has a different ideology of what he wants me to be.
06:04I'm very proud of what I am, but, again, this is the industry I love.
06:11She always said, I want to move to New York.
06:13I want to be a high fashion model.
06:15Then she became very interested in the Sports Illustrated swimsuit editions.
06:18I still walk into rooms, and I see models who are, like, size zero, and I'm sitting there with boobs, and, you know, I have a shape to me, and I'm just like, oh, my God.
06:28I think that Sarah is the only girl here that has that super top model look.
06:35She can stand right next to me and Heidi in a Victoria's Secret ad, all of us, and fit right in.
06:40Sarah, for me, I think just is starting, I'm starting to feel that she could be going way down market, like the beer commercials.
06:47Yohanna, congratulations.
06:52Being eliminated was extremely hard.
06:55It really did hurt that much and more than what you saw on the show.
06:59It was a really emotional episode.
07:01It really was.
07:05Today, I'm at the Maxim shoot and wanted to shoot me, I guess, because of the whole sexy thing on the show.
07:10So, I'm doing my first photo shoot here at Maxim in New York City.
07:14My main focus is more of the lingerie swimsuit.
07:19The outfits are barely even called outfits, like, little pieces of lingerie.
07:24I want to be in Sports Illustrated.
07:26Put me in there, no.
07:28It's been my dream since I was a little girl.
07:30I will rock in it.
07:31Rockin' Republic, it's going to be my first runway show since Top Model stopped airing.
07:37And I'm excited, you know, I had to walk for them.
07:41And I'm just, I'm excited.
07:44I just want to be able to, you know, kick ass and have people look at me and be like, oh, we want her again.
07:48Sarah just snagged a meeting with the head of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition.
07:55So, her dream just may come true.
07:58Coming up.
07:59I'll get your autograph.
08:00Of course.
08:01Hometown Heroes.
08:02Wilmer's own Katie Anderson.
08:04And Friends and Family Reunited.
08:07Bravo!
08:08On America's next Top Model, The Runway Ahead.
08:11It's going to be on top.
08:13There's a big difference between being a model and a top model.
08:26A model is a girl that works.
08:27She does her catalog.
08:28You know, she might do some magazines every now and then.
08:30But the public really doesn't know who she is.
08:33They don't identify with her.
08:34A top model is a whole package.
08:37There's personality.
08:38There's looks.
08:39She has to know how to pose her butt off.
08:41She has to know how to dance.
08:42She has to know how to speak.
08:43She has to know how to represent products.
08:45And she has to know how to relate to the public where they like her.
08:48They want to be her friend.
08:52Tim and Todd and Katie Anderson, Wilmer's own America's Next Top Model.
08:57I checked out UPN and this is the picture they post there.
09:01I said to Todd, no, I don't think she'll be wearing that downtown.
09:05No, definitely not.
09:08You must get recognized everywhere you go now.
09:10Yeah, it's, it's, oh my gosh.
09:12It's what I've always wanted.
09:14I want to be a household name where people, they see me in the picture, they go, oh my
09:18goodness, that's Katie Anderson.
09:19I'll get your autograph.
09:20Oh, of course.
09:22Can I get your autograph?
09:23Of course.
09:23You were so good acting.
09:24Oh, thank you.
09:25Oh my gosh.
09:27Boy, big girl, this is my friend, Katie Anderson, who is on Top Model.
09:31And I remember Katie, when she left here, she told us she was going to Los Angeles.
09:36Lo and behold, if we find out, she, she made it a big time, you know.
09:40This really isn't Marilyn, it's actually me.
09:43You know, if they said, Katie, to make it, you're going to have to shave your head, my hair's
09:47gone.
09:48Right now, she doesn't understand what's really...
09:50No, I don't understand the full concept.
09:53Help me.
09:53Help me understand.
09:54I had emotional attachment to my hair, so I kind of had to let it out.
09:59I look like a boy.
10:01I cried about my hair.
10:03I cried because of the heights.
10:06We are going to suspend you from this ledge and shoot you guys hanging over this hole.
10:13I'm sorry, but anybody who has a phobia would understand.
10:16Do you want to come up, Katie?
10:17Give me a second.
10:18Okay.
10:19I'm thinking, suck it up and get it over with.
10:22You have to do this.
10:23You're out here, you might as well do your best.
10:25Beautiful.
10:26I love it.
10:27Do you know what, Katie?
10:28You got it.
10:29You're done.
10:30I've always been very open about my dreams.
10:33Since I was 13, I've wanted to model.
10:37My dad means so much to me.
10:39She's definitely daddy's little girl.
10:41She's matured a lot, you know, living on her own, and I think that there's a great deal
10:45of personal growth that comes along with doing that.
10:47He's my daddy, you know?
10:48I want him to be happy and proud of me.
10:51I have the best family in the world.
10:54They are absolutely my core.
10:56First couple of episodes were fun to watch.
10:58Shape your body.
11:00This girl, Katie, I think maybe she could be a model.
11:03After that, sometimes they got a little bit tougher to watch.
11:06I think there's a little too much hooker style going on with the leg warmest with the high
11:09heels.
11:10I was going downhill fast.
11:13I was going downhill.
11:16She's kind of the girl next door.
11:18Ew.
11:18But I think America's Next Top Model has to be, like, the girl, like, way over there.
11:24Katie, sometimes the judges feel like you are a little bit too commercial, a little bit
11:30too safe.
11:33Camille.
11:34I don't feel rejected.
11:37I'm just disappointed in myself.
11:39Thanks, guys.
11:41I got my ass kicked off the show.
11:45Go back to L.A., work my ass off.
11:48Get to the top on my own.
11:51It didn't hit me until, like, two weeks afterwards, and I'm like, oh, I'm not on the show.
11:56This really sucks.
11:57Well, I would love to obviously model, act, and I would love to do TV hosting.
12:07I'm really trying to capitalize on the moment that I have, because I got this great exposure.
12:14Now is, like, a real competition.
12:16That was just a warm-up.
12:17The show was completely just a warm-up.
12:23You know, I left my husband and my son.
12:26Are you kidding me?
12:26You have a husband?
12:28How old is your son?
12:29He's two.
12:30The girls were saying, oh, you're a mom.
12:32You know, you must miss your son.
12:34You must miss your husband.
12:35I was like, yes, I do miss him.
12:36I miss you, mama.
12:38I love you.
12:39I love you.
12:40I didn't view that as a hindrance of any type toward me or my career.
12:44What does your husband think of you being here?
12:46Oh, he supports me 100%.
12:48Everybody have a dream, and I knew Marlon was her dreams.
12:50It's in me, and I just have to do it.
12:53This is the major part of your costume right here.
12:54I knew that there may be a chance that I was going to be asked to post-nude.
12:59I was hoping it wouldn't be.
13:01You are going to be nude.
13:03I sat there in the room, and I saw these girls.
13:05Their coochie was showing.
13:06Oh, baby, you can't say that on television.
13:08Their breasts were hanging out, nipples showing.
13:11I don't want to be a part of that.
13:14I can't just imagine someone else here and down there except my husband.
13:19She really blew me away by her saying them things and standing up for what she believed in.
13:24I'm sorry about that after I should leave.
13:26I'm sorry.
13:27The judges were quite disappointed that you didn't do the photo shoot.
13:31But she felt a certain responsibility as a wife and a mom, and we respect that.
13:35Thank you, Anna.
13:36Thank you, Tom.
13:37Hi, Mommy.
13:39Anna, you know, she's in a different place in her life.
13:42She has a son, and she has a husband.
13:43I don't regret any decisions I made or anything that happened on the show.
13:52I think it was a great experience for me.
13:54Getting me out there is exposing me.
13:57When I do step into modeling full-time, I do expect to have my son on set with me.
14:02I do expect to have my husband.
14:04I wanted to be able to work better in this business and work on my career, so I have gotten down to a size six.
14:10I called some agencies and got a contract.
14:13I'm looking over it, and hopefully I can quit my 9-to-5 job and start modeling full-time.
14:20And I'm on my way up.
14:27Shani's life will never be the same after Top Model.
14:29I'm changing everything about myself because of the show, which I'm very grateful for.
14:34It's nice to wake up in the morning and think that you're beautiful.
14:38My mom always thought that I looked like a boy.
14:40She'll constantly tell me, you're never going to get married.
14:43I am from Kansas City, Missouri.
14:45I work at a Walgreens.
14:46I'm a service clerk.
14:482028.
14:48One of the main reasons I went down to the audition was the fact that, you know, I had nothing to lose.
14:56When I first saw all the girls, I think one of my first thoughts was, oh, okay, I guess, what am I doing here?
15:03These girls are really, really pretty.
15:05Shandi, I don't know.
15:06Even though she's very tall and thin, I just don't see it.
15:09Her eyes are very close together, which kind of reminds me of a bird.
15:12To compete against these other girls, this I'm going to need to do better.
15:17I need to try harder.
15:18There's a beautiful girl there.
15:20Not everybody can see that, though.
15:23Miss Shandi with that brown hair.
15:25We are going to make you a platinum blonde.
15:29Everything's come together.
15:30I feel so pretty right now.
15:32This girl is a supermodel in the making.
15:38It started to make me believe that I belong there.
15:42Pack your pants, y'all.
15:44You're going to be alive!
15:46Melon for me is, like, unbelievable.
15:49Everything is just a million times nicer.
15:51I miss my boyfriend.
15:56I really wish he could have experienced this with me.
16:00Ioana calls the really cute one, and he says he'll come and bring some friends.
16:07Just caught up in, like, the sexual tension.
16:10Having really good-looking guys come over.
16:12Ding!
16:12Hold on a second, Shandi.
16:13You've got a boyfriend.
16:17Hey.
16:18Hi.
16:19How are you doing?
16:20Not so good.
16:20Tell me.
16:21I think of the worst possible thing I can do.
16:24You want to judge?
16:26Yeah.
16:27I can't be with someone that cheated on me.
16:35This is one of the times in my life where I felt the worst about something that I did.
16:39I've never felt so horrible.
16:41I just had no desire to be there.
16:44And the judges could see that, too.
16:46I will only call one name.
16:49Ioana.
16:51Thanks, Shandi.
16:52It's hard to even try to remember how I used to be.
16:54I've grown more in, like, the past couple weeks than I've grown, like, in the past couple years.
16:58When I get home, I won't feel so lost.
17:01I won't feel so insecure about myself.
17:03After the show, I had to go back to Walgreens.
17:06Well, were you the one that went, where it was on that modeling thing?
17:10Mm-hmm.
17:10Oh.
17:11It's just for the time being.
17:12It's not a permanent thing.
17:14There you go.
17:15My boyfriend and I, we're still having problems with the trust issue.
17:19What she did was wrong, but I have been able to forgive her.
17:22We're going to make it work.
17:24Oh, I love you, Mom.
17:27I think the show had a lot to do with, um, I don't necessarily feel closer to my mom, but
17:31I feel like a lot of, um, my feelings have been resolved, which helps me want to be closer
17:38to my mom.
17:39I'm very proud of Shannon.
17:40I never in my lost dreams thought this would ever happen to one of my girls.
17:45I'm going to New York, and I'm going to go with eight agencies.
17:48Eight?
17:48Eight.
17:49You didn't tell me.
17:50Eight.
17:51All these things are happening, like these interviews and having to get ready to do photo
17:55shoots for magazines.
17:56I'm trying to save up money to, uh, move to New York and, uh, get my career going.
18:01Being on the show made me realize, you know, this is what I want to do.
18:05So it's given me the determination to not try and worry about whether or not I'm going
18:10to make it, just to at least try.
18:15Shandy's shooting a big magazine spread in Glamour and Cosmo Girl.
18:23My name is Bethany.
18:24I can obviously do swimsuit.
18:26That's what some people want to put me in that category, because I'm blonde and have bigger
18:29boobs, but I have a lot more talent than the boobs.
18:32I'm not so sure about the boobs.
18:34It's 33 and a half.
18:36Uh-huh.
18:36Your body type is very sexy.
18:39You have to be very conscious of how you pose, because it'll take you away from fashion.
18:44Bethany's body is more voluptuous.
18:47Obviously, I know that I don't have a stick-thin figure.
18:51I hope that people would stop looking at my boobs and start looking at some talent.
18:54I want something to work on.
18:55I can't do anything about my chest.
18:56Yes, you can.
18:58You can pose differently.
18:59You're not the only model that has a big chest.
19:02You're here because you want to be a fashion model.
19:04What can I do?
19:05But it's just...
19:06You're here.
19:07So you have to learn to work in this world.
19:09I definitely didn't think I was going to go this soon, if at all.
19:16I know that I have a lot more talent than probably half of these girls here.
19:20It's very frustrating to me.
19:22So what would you like to see happen in your life?
19:24Well, I hope we get some modeling jobs.
19:26I'm thinking about moving out here to L.A. probably in a month or two, and really trying
19:30to go at it hard and pursuing it.
19:31So we'll see what happens.
19:33Later in the show, you're on his first day as America's Next Top Model.
19:36It's insane.
19:37It's like a dream come true.
19:39And up next, April's first professional photo shoot.
19:42Money.
19:42That's it right there.
19:54A lot of times people will watch the show and go, why is that girl on there?
19:57She's not drop-dead gorgeous, and it's like, that's not what it takes all the time.
20:01Some of the top models in the world aren't the most pretty girls, but they have an extra
20:05something that makes the public curious about that girl.
20:09So that's what I'm looking for, just spunk.
20:14What's up, people?
20:14I'm Janasha.
20:15I'm back in Seattle, Washington, and I'm about to start my shift at Hooters.
20:19That's right.
20:20Still slinging chicken wings.
20:21So why don't you follow me in?
20:22Let's go.
20:23This is going to be fun.
20:24Come on.
20:25All right, it's time to get serious.
20:26Ladies, come pick up your beer.
20:29Do you guys need anything?
20:31No?
20:32Good, because I didn't want to get it anyways.
20:35There's your guys' entertainment for the day.
20:37I'm going to be doing my crosser puzzle.
20:39Enjoy.
20:41I'm Janasha.
20:42The fact that I got chosen for the show was a big shock for me.
20:46And I'm short.
20:46I knew that I was the shortest from the very beginning, out of all the girls.
20:51And I was thinking that, you know, I just wear heels the entire time I'm here.
20:55But, f*** it.
20:58Short.
20:59She's too short.
21:00Let's face it.
21:00Five-seven?
21:01For five-seven, you have to think tall.
21:03Because if you think tall, you will be tall.
21:05So just try a little bit harder.
21:07I like that Janasha's short.
21:08I think it's special.
21:09It makes you stand out.
21:10I'm not short.
21:11I absolutely refuse to walk around in heels for the rest of my life.
21:14Janasha, your hair is too long for that height.
21:17They played the tall card with me again.
21:18This skirt makes my legs look a little bit longer, which is important.
21:21I'm not looking at you here to be taller.
21:24I'm looking at you here to represent five-seven.
21:25I've got to get over this whole short complex.
21:27I could drink all the milk with calcium in my cereal and, you know, take some vitamins all I want.
21:33But I'm not getting any taller.
21:35Let's face it, couture is tall.
21:36How the hell frick do you say that word?
21:38Hot couture?
21:39Hot?
21:40Hot couture?
21:42Bleh.
21:42I've heard a few times, you know, you're short, you're short, look taller.
21:46Screw it.
21:47To be totally honest with you, I just wanted to act.
21:49And I felt like maybe modeling would be a good step into it.
21:53I've been very interested in comedy.
21:54Saturday Night Live, call me.
21:59I'm back in the real world where I'm taller than most women and I can still date any guy I want
22:05because I'm shorter than most of them.
22:07And that is a gift.
22:09Gays and Nasha, two to one!
22:12You're not too short.
22:13Thanks, guys.
22:15Thanks.
22:20Before the show, I was working in Miami Beach as an account executive.
22:24Rare Bourne Express.
22:26We both moved down to Miami, Patrick and I, after we graduated NYU together.
22:30He's the first love of my life.
22:31I wouldn't have the courage to do what I'm doing right now if it wasn't for him.
22:34He's really the one that pushed me to pursue my dream career.
22:39We actually were watching television one day, flipped through the channel, saw the show,
22:43got online, found the application, encouraged her to go ahead and do it.
22:46For America's next top model.
22:47I wasn't shocked when she was chosen because most of the things that she wants to do and, like, end up happening for her.
22:54Joanna!
22:56April!
22:57I don't think I really knew how competitive I was.
22:59April executed the routine amazingly.
23:02Surprise, surprise!
23:04April won the challenge.
23:05She's most definitely a threat.
23:07When she sees something, she does it perfectly.
23:09She's like a machine.
23:09My impression of April is this.
23:16It's the truth!
23:17It was very hurtful to me when I started to feel like some of the girls didn't support me or even said mean things about me.
23:23We're not sure if you want this because you want to be a top model and you want to be in this fashion industry,
23:29or is it that you just want to win for the sake of winning?
23:32That point in the show was actually the turning point for me where I really started to discover how much I did really enjoy
23:38working in front of the camera.
23:41April is like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, The Matrix.
23:44She was fabulous.
23:47April, you've got this negativity towards your ethnicity.
23:51She clearly looks Asian, and she should be proud of it.
23:55I felt so misunderstood by them.
23:57I came across as being somewhat ashamed of my Japanese heritage, and that could not be further from the truth.
24:04April, if you make it, you are the top Asian girl at the moment, or Camille, or, you know,
24:08CMR, are you guys in the top black or Latin girls?
24:11I'm a mutt.
24:11I'm a mutt loud and proud.
24:12You know, I'm half Japanese, German, Irish, Scottish, and Welsh.
24:19I think basically the judges misread my nervousness as rigidness,
24:26and maybe my timidness as cockiness.
24:30She's clinical.
24:31She's like a technician.
24:32She thinks too much.
24:33She's trying to depict a model, how she's seen it in a movie.
24:36In your pictures, we feel like you pose better than all the girls here.
24:40The modeling isn't about being mechanical.
24:42It's about emotionally connecting with the camera.
24:44Of course I was upset when they eliminated me.
24:53Honestly, I only cried for like 30 minutes, and then I got over it, tried my eyes, turned around,
24:58went back home, and decided to keep pursuing it anyway.
25:04I'm doing a photo shoot for Stuff magazine today.
25:06I'm really excited.
25:07I want to be a model purely because I like the feeling that I get when I'm in front of a camera
25:12and I'm creating art with my body.
25:14It's the most amazing thing I've ever felt.
25:16Money.
25:17That's it.
25:17Right there.
25:18If I could just get that feeling for as many moments as I can for as many days of the rest of my life,
25:22I will do it.
25:23I will work hard to be a model.
25:26April just signed with New York Models, and the owner of the agency is so impressed with her
25:30that he is managing her himself.
25:32You look like a Nubian space goddess.
25:40Tiamara, absolutely gorgeous girl, but she looked like a walrus.
25:44I knew I wasn't perfect walking in the door.
25:46I so knew that.
25:47Girl, you walk like you on crack.
25:50I'm the kind of person where someone tells me something.
25:52I would take that and channel it into positive.
25:55Zamara.
25:56All righty.
25:58The reason why she's here is her energy was so great.
26:01I am so hot.
26:02She just has this New York girl attitude.
26:07I was born in Brooklyn.
26:08I have the cultural edge of being raised in New York.
26:11I just think that New York has a flavor and a trendiness and a vibe.
26:14I love it.
26:16Good.
26:18Samara, the judges love your personality, but on photo shoots, you lose your focus and don't take direction well.
26:27Thank you, Samara.
26:28I'm absolutely more confident since being on the show.
26:32I have definitely improved a lot physically, emotionally, mentally.
26:36I've had to work hard for everything that I have in life.
26:40I'm very determined.
26:41Nothing's ever just handed to me.
26:43I'm a nightclub bartender.
26:44That's the best way to work.
26:45Two nights a week.
26:46Make a grand.
26:47You have Monday through Friday to go on whatever casting circumstances you have to go on.
26:51I'm going to see my personal manager, who I'm going to sign with today, over at TTA.
26:59Her job is basically to create superstars that she's done in the past.
27:03First of all, my plan for you is to make you a star.
27:07If you listen to everything that I've told you to do, I mean, your hair, I want it a little fuller here.
27:14That.
27:14A little softer.
27:16Mm-hmm.
27:18Yes.
27:18You are going to be my top girl.
27:22I got signed exclusively to Boss Models.
27:26I'm just really excited.
27:28I was aware of her from the show, and she came in one day for our open call.
27:31I just saw her right away, because, I mean, she's very tall, striking, beautiful.
27:34You okay?
27:35I'm okay.
27:35Yeah, I'm okay.
27:36You're sweet.
27:37All right.
27:38The thing that has changed me the most from being on the show is walking into the room with the confidence of saying,
27:44you know what?
27:45I can own this room.
27:46I deserve to be here.
27:49Right now is the real competition.
27:52Right now.
27:53Right now.
27:54Who's making moves?
27:55Who's not?
27:56Who's booking work?
27:58Who's not?
27:59That's all.
28:01See, Amara has had requests from three major cosmetic lines, and she just did a spread for FHM magazine.
28:09I just like to have fun.
28:10I'm a girl.
28:11Girls like to have fun.
28:14I like doing spontaneous things.
28:17I'm a very people person, and I'm very talkative, so that's the only thing that bothered me,
28:22is that I did feel a little bit alone in the house.
28:24I'm only 18 years old, and I've never been away from home.
28:30Katie seems to understand me, and it makes me happy that someone else feels the same way I do, that I'm not alone in this house.
28:38Sometimes we think you may look a little too teen.
28:42When I look at her here, I see Nickelodeon.
28:45I had to fight with Heather on this shoot just to get her facial expression to look somewhat like a model.
28:51Close your mouth.
28:51Heather's out.
28:52I'm just shocked.
28:55I know that I'm prettier than a lot of those girls standing up there, so I'm going to continue trying.
29:02I'm not going to let this drag me down.
29:05This has changed my life by all the doors opening for me.
29:09Here at UPN, we oversee the casting of all of our television series.
29:12I'd love for you to take a look at our script, read it, and give it your best shot.
29:16I wanted to bake a cake, but I can't find my non-stick sunflower cake pan.
29:20It's just great.
29:21I mean, if you take the classes and you pursue it, you really have a good shot at it.
29:24I hope to just keep modeling.
29:26Hopefully, I get anything in acting, modeling.
29:29I want it all.
29:31Dreams do come true.
29:32Coming up, hot times with Camille.
29:37My crazy girlfriend.
29:39When we go to the club, it's always VIP access.
29:42And a winner's dream comes true.
29:44I'm part of, like, the Fashion Olympics.
29:56Believe it or not, Camille was super sweet on her audition.
29:59She's dressed a little flashy.
30:00She had on, like, a gold lame skirt, but she was just really normal, sweet.
30:04Actually, a little bit too normal and sweet.
30:06So I was really shocked that she turned out to be the girl that everyone hated.
30:14What's going to differentiate me from all those other girls is the fact that I can do it better.
30:20She's clueless.
30:21It was a highly stressful environment.
30:26Trust me.
30:27I don't trust you.
30:28Woo!
30:28The whole experience has been an interesting one.
30:33Every single emotion that you can possibly think would run through your system happened on that show.
30:40The person that I can say that I got along the least with has to be Ioana.
30:45Wait, just, I'm not finished.
30:47Just wait.
30:48I honestly think to this day there is something about my personality, something about my confidence level that I think that Ioana saw in me and she wished that she possessed herself.
30:59Camille, she's sucking all of our energy out and she is so manipulative and so sneaky about it.
31:06I can help you guys out.
31:07I can tell that Camille's going to be somebody that's going to cause a lot of problems.
31:11I think she just really believes that she's the stuff.
31:15You have 15 minutes to achieve a glamorous, smoky eye.
31:20Go!
31:21Surprise, surprise.
31:26Cruella de Vil steals the mirror.
31:28Camille has a huge ass.
31:29Her butt is taking off the whole counter space.
31:31Oh my God, I was so pissed off.
31:32Like, seriously, I just wanted to stop and scream.
31:35It's a competition, not a Ferrari.
31:36Camille is manipulative.
31:39Camille is like drama, drama, drama, drama.
31:41Ground control to Camille.
31:43Okay, if you could be a judge and eliminate anyone, who would it be?
31:48Oh, that's a hard question.
31:50It'd be Camille.
31:50Camille.
31:51Camille.
31:51Camille.
31:52Oh my God.
31:55Okay, she wants to know why you walk like this.
31:57This is my signature walk and this is what's going to make me famous.
31:59Actually, I'm here because I got chosen as 6,000 girls.
32:03Camille, what were you thinking?
32:05Time and time again, we've talked to you about the attitude.
32:07The photographer said Camille was by far his least favorite girl.
32:10Try to work on humility a little bit.
32:12I don't think this is the place for her, this competition.
32:15I think she needs to be somewhere telling people what to do rather than taking advice.
32:22I can't really go places like I used to without people recognizing me and stopping me to ask me like a million and one questions.
32:29Are we all the classes for you?
32:30Really?
32:31Oh!
32:32Harry University is a very prestigious school.
32:35It's oftentimes referred to as the quote-unquote black Harvard.
32:38You know, it's all about looking good.
32:40Howard is definitely a fashion school.
32:42It's Friday night and we are here to party.
32:47We're in Washington, D.C.
32:48We're going to hit up all the fabulous clubs.
32:50We can't go out looking like a bum.
32:51Even though she isn't America's top model, she's our top mom.
32:54She is.
32:55She's a baby.
32:55But she's too.
32:56My crazy girlfriends, when we go to the club, we all get together, we all get dressed up.
33:02It's always VIP access, so that's just typical for us.
33:06As far as the bodyguards are concerned, because of my popularity now, I have to just look out for my own safety.
33:12You know?
33:12So, that's that.
33:14Hey guys, welcome to the Maranac, my hometown where I grew up.
33:19Come on, let's go.
33:22Mom!
33:23This is my mother, Miss Lorna McDonald.
33:27This is my baby, my one and only.
33:29Spoil to the hilt.
33:31Not spoiled.
33:32You know, we did our best.
33:33Her dad and myself did our best to raise her in the best way we know how.
33:37I really am very proud of her.
33:38I think you're just much more determined.
33:40Maybe I'm just noticing it.
33:41I mean, I went on national television and told people that my signature walk was going to make me famous.
33:46You're not going to get the full effect because I don't have on heels here.
33:55I'm really not a bitch.
33:57I'm sweet.
33:57I'm kind.
33:58I'm loving.
33:58I just want everyone out there to know that I'm serious and I'm determined.
34:02I'm confident and have confidence.
34:03I don't ever want anyone to mix up confidence for arrogance.
34:07Trust me, you will see me again.
34:09Ciao.
34:10I think America's Next Top Model has, you know, created new lives for these women.
34:16I mean, Shandy was a Walgreens clerk and now she's going to be a fashion model.
34:20Ioana was a babysitter and now she's America's Next Top Model.
34:27America's Next Top Model is Ioana.
34:32Ioana's absolutely beautiful.
34:34I think Ioana's amazing.
34:35You have a classic face made for beauty.
34:40It's not real.
34:43At 7 in the morning, I have an entourage following me now and I'm just a little uncomfortable with the idea.
34:47I am here with my mom and we're off to go to our first morning show, CBS Morning.
34:53On Tuesday night, millions tuned in to watch Ioana House become America's Next Top Model.
34:59What has this been like now for, what, the 24, 36 hours or whatever it is?
35:04Oh, it's just going really fast.
35:06After that, we trek on over with just a few minutes to spare and we go to Regis and Kelly Live.
35:11It was really cool.
35:12The audience is like really, like just really enjoyable and they just made the whole experience even more enjoyable.
35:18We have some prizes.
35:19The cosmetics campaign with Sephora.
35:21I can't wait to get a free shopping spree at Sephora.
35:23Going into Sephora was kind of like Charlie going into the Willow Wonka factory.
35:32There's like all these products and then they say, okay, pick and choose.
35:35And I thought for a minute, are you insane?
35:37We'll also have a spread in Jane Magazine.
35:40I go up to meet with Eric from Jane Magazine and he's laying out the theme for what the photo shoot is going to be.
35:46I'm like, what is going on with my life today?
35:49Among the prizes that the winner will receive is a contract with IMG, which is the number one modeling management firm in the world.
35:57Today is the big day.
35:58I finally get to meet with IMG for the first time.
36:00Hi.
36:00How are you?
36:01Congratulations.
36:03How was this morning, by the way?
36:05Oh, hectic and fun.
36:06So I hope you're going to be not too tired.
36:08I'm fine.
36:08You've got a big, big week.
36:09They're going to tell me my itinerary and map out what's coming in the next few weeks and hopefully with my career.
36:15So this is the best part of the whole experience.
36:18On Monday, Nancy's going to accompany you and you're going to go out to L.A.
36:23Oh, yeah.
36:27The hit UPN show, America's Next Top Model, recently crowned its winner and she is right here.
36:32Ladies and gentlemen, babysitter turned supermodel, Ioana Haus.
36:36Come on up.
36:39From there, they had said, well, you're going to be doing L.A. fashion.
36:42The best part, I think, was, you know, getting to do the shows.
37:02It is insane and there I am with the girls that are really noted for doing this and in a way it was just kind of like, oh, my God, I'm kind of like the Fashion Olympics.
37:12That's what it was like.
37:13Well, it's my 24th birthday today and I'm so excited to be home.
37:20I just get to be with my little sister, my mom, my dad, my brother, and it's the best gift.
37:25Well, I grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, in this great little area called Mandarin.
37:29Before the show, I guess you could say I was the girl that was just very much the bohemian.
37:33I was the babysitter extraordinaire.
37:35I had a set family that I worked with for almost four years.
37:38I'd say as of now, even post the show, I lost a total of 60 pounds, which took about a two and a half year process.
37:44Really, the driving force was me wanting to get into fashion.
37:47Because they start from kindergarten through the eighth grade and it's when she starts thinking to losing weight.
37:53I always had, like, the fashionista inside me, always, and I think it's always going to be there.
37:58People, maybe I think since the weight has come off, have maybe paid more attention.
38:03We're here at the Yoga Den studio in my hometown, and I'm here with my little sister.
38:10We're about to go inside to do our daily routine of working out.
38:13Well, as far as, like, a transformation I took where I wanted to tone and lengthen and strengthen my body, it did happen here.
38:20I never was a cheerleader.
38:22Never made homecoming or prom queen, nothing.
38:25Not only did I win, but I won something that I had wanted, like, since I was so young and for a long time.
38:30You believe in yourself that you really can achieve.
38:32You know, what you really want of life.
38:34I'm just so overwhelmed with this whole experience.
38:37I can't wait to get to work.
38:40You think you have what it takes to be America's next top model?
38:43Go to UPN.com, download that application, send in that three-minute tape, do everything that application says that you should do.
38:49And maybe you'll be hanging out with me in the NYC.
38:52See you.
38:52You think you're going to be hanging out with me in the NYC.
38:53I'm just going to be hanging out with you.
38:54I'm just going to be hanging out with you.
38:54I'm just going to be hanging out with you.
38:55I'm just going to be hanging out with you.
38:56I'm just going to be hanging out with you.
38:57I'm just going to be hanging out with you.
38:58I'm just going to be hanging out with you.
38:59I'm just going to be hanging out with you.
39:00I'm just going to be hanging out with you.
39:01I'm just going to be hanging out with you.
39:02I'm just going to be hanging out with you.
39:03I'm just going to be hanging out with you.
39:04I'm just going to be hanging out with you.
