And he wants to see more being done.
Elizabeth Williams reports.

00:00We have a government that seem insistent on delivering on what they have promised.
00:07We have a sense of assertiveness from the Prime Minister that we did not get the first time around when she was Prime Minister.
00:13Like very assertive, very self-assured, very confident in the steps that they're taking.
00:20I do like that they are engaging in consultations so early on.
00:25Mr. Agustin said he is hopeful the government would continue listening to the people,
00:32especially in dealing with the crime situation in the country and the present state of emergency.
00:38I hope that the consultations result in the government actually listening to people
00:43because very often we have these consultations and sometimes nothing comes out of it.
00:49We certainly have to work harder at treating the issue of crime.
00:53You know, that's plaguing all of us.
00:55But I mean, 100 days, we really can't solve our problem with crime in 100 days.
01:02That would be foolhardy to think that that is a possibility.
01:06Staying clear of a 1 to 10 rating, Agustin, however, sees a challenge.
01:12The biggest challenge will come up in and about September when the Minister of Finance will have to bring a budget
01:18and how that budget can be balanced, if at all it can be balanced, and how we can deliver to the people.
01:27Certainly for us as a teacher, we are awaiting that time as well.
01:31That will determine what we are able to actually provide for the people of Tobago.
01:36And so we just have to keep working with the government, applying pressure where pressure needs to be applied, of course.
01:46But I think if the Prime Minister continues with assertiveness, forthrightness in terms of achieving the manifesto promises,
01:56then the country should be happy.
01:59Speaking to reporters, he said he wants to see more done.
02:03I would want to see more before we could make a judgment in terms of good, bad or indifferent.
02:12But certainly if they continue to apply such assertiveness with their manifesto promises,
02:19then the country would benefit insofar as receiving delivery on promises made.
