00:00Of course, having such activation in the region will always be a concern.
00:06From all the reports I've seen, they're not in Trinidad and Tobago waters.
00:11They're certainly not in Tobago waters as well,
00:14which means that our fishers and tubergonians will be able to continue to apply the trade within Trinidad and Tobago waters
00:21because I know that the tubergonians operate above board and we don't go outside of our waters illegally.
00:28So we should be safe in our waters.
00:30Mr. Agustin told members of the media he has not spoken to Prime Minister Kamala Fassad-Bissessa on the matter.
00:37I don't usually speak to Prime Ministers about six scheduled items.
00:41Fifth scheduled items, what I speak to the Prime Minister about, I want vessels to guard Tobago and Tobago fishers.
00:48I want faster response time from Coast Guard and a much more efficient Coast Guard,
00:53which means that the base, including operational bases and the sea assets, are working and are available.
01:01I want our defence systems to be working. That I will talk to the Prime Minister about.
01:06As for what appears to be tense relations between the Venezuelan President and the Prime Minister?
01:13Are you worried about the speech between the Honorable Prime Minister and Venezuela? It seems to be intense.
01:20I tend not to make six scheduled items my business.
01:25But are you not worried for Tobago?
01:27No, I'm not.
01:28Agustin said fisherfolk in Tobago have long complained about illegal fishing in Trinidad and Tobago's waters.
01:36Our fisherfolk has for a long time been complaining about outsiders in our waters.
01:42They should be the happiest now because it means that there is a deterrent to outsiders moving from their waters through international waters into our waters.
01:51The Tobago fisherfolk are law-abiding people. They don't carry drugs. They don't go in international waters.
01:58And so Tobago fisherfolk operating within Tobago waters and within Trinidad and Tobago waters remain safe.
