00:00Mr. Dennis, thank you so much for affording us this interview.
00:04You're welcome. It's always a pleasure to be interviewed by you, Liz.
00:08Tell us, why should the people of Tobago decide to vote for Ancel K. Dennis?
00:15Well, they're not just voting for Ancel K. Dennis, but they're voting for the PNM.
00:19A renewed, more vibrant, re-energized, a somewhat new PNM has stepped onto the scene in this election campaign,
00:32and I think the people of Tobago are witnessing that themselves.
00:35Mr. Dennis said the PNM team he has contesting the upcoming election is a young, vibrant team under a new PNM.
00:45How confident are you of victory at the polls?
00:48I am confident that the people of Tobago have seen and experienced and lived the last four years of hardship,
00:58of diminishing infrastructure, diminishing quality of roads, lack of maintenance of facilities,
01:10firings across the THA, job losses, economic hardship Tobagonians have seen,
01:16and I trust that the people of Tobago are sensible enough to make the right decision come election day.
01:24His first order of business once elected into office.
01:28But there are some things that can be done immediately,
01:30and I will say that the contract employees, their movement from three-year contracts to five-year contracts
01:38will be immediate procurement policy to ensure that every single contract that can be executed by a Tobago company
01:49will be given to a Tobago company, and we will see an end to Trinidad companies' paving roads and building roads in Tobago.
01:57He said losing Monday's election is not an option.
02:02If the PNM loses the election to the TPP, will you step down as leader?
02:08Losing is not an option in this election.
02:11For the sake of the people of Tobago, losing is not an option.
02:15Elizabeth Williams, TV6 News.
