Oregon ducks long snapper Luke Basso discusses his connection with the kickers and the holders
Transcript
00:00How is your connection right now with the holders and the kickers?
00:08How have you tried to maybe grow that?
00:09I imagine you probably did some stuff over the summer on your own, snapping, training,
00:14but how has your connection kind of grown throughout the offseason with those guys?
00:17Yeah, it's gotten a lot better.
00:19Throughout the entire summer, we'll go out to Autzen and we'll do snap hold kicks.
00:23I mean, Ferg just got here from Boise State, so we've gotten him into the loop.
00:26I've been just working with Ross, like I've had him as my holder for the last few years,
00:31so the connection is very strong and the unit feels very cohesive right now.
00:35I know the punts in the spring game weren't necessarily up to your guys' standard.
00:40I think you've got a chance to kind of look back and reflect on that.
00:43Just kind of what were some of the areas that you felt like you just kind of led to some of those wild punts
00:49that maybe were a little uncharacteristic of what maybe you saw in spring practice?
00:53That's just part of the game.
00:54I mean, you're going to have bad days and you're going to have great days.
00:57I've had bad snaps.
00:58I've had good snaps.
00:59And part of the spring game is just getting a lot of the rust off.
01:03And, you know, that's something that we worked on all summer, so we're ready for the season.
