Oregon Ducks long snapper Luke Basso discusses the ducks alumni long snapper that has helped him
Transcript
00:00Have you ever met any organ specialist from the past?
00:07Do you swap stories of like, we almost ran it this time?
00:10Tanner Crew, yeah, Tanner Crew, he helped me tremendously get here.
00:14He was a snapper back in 2015, played in the national championship,
00:17but he will tell me some stories back in the day when they would do lots of fakes
00:21and just fun plays like that, and we'll compare what we did on them.
00:26What was the one that you wanted the most but you just didn't get the go for?
00:30So two years ago we played against Colorado, and Ross was the holder,
00:34and he rolled out, and I was running like a flat route out to the sideline,
00:38and he was supposed to throw it to me, and we had practiced the celebration all week.
00:42I was going to point to the stands and everything, and the ball never got to me,
00:45but it's all right. It's part of the job.
00:47How was the route? Was it Chris?
00:49The route was great. There's no problems with that.
00:51It was definitely just Ross's fault. No, I'm kidding.
00:53So when you're going to do a trick play, when you're going to stamp it to that guy,
00:56or it's a trick play, how do you not tip off what you're going to do?
01:00I mean, you've got to be very disciplined.
01:03Lots of practice. Yeah, lots of practice during the week.
01:05We'll work on it, but I've got to be square.
01:09I can't be leaning another way to make sure that we don't tip off the defense,
01:13but it's very specific. Got to be on point.
01:16A little more gut rumbling when you're going to do that.
01:18You know how big it is?
01:19Yeah, exactly.
