00:00very good putting this year he was average in his rookie year so the year in which he comes onto the

00:06scene it is come you know contending a bunch come second in the open championship he was an average

00:12putter that year uh he was a very bad putter the last couple years he was 145th and 154th

00:19so when we think about all right so we it's crazy is that every year he's good average or bad at

00:25something this is that's the wild thing about this his first year on tour he was an elite wedge player

00:32an elite wedge player he was seventh inside of 100 yards and in the last two years uh so 2023 and

00:392024 super average wedge player right around 125th and then this year 172nd inside of 100 yards and

00:49you saw a little bit of this you saw a little bit of this come out on sunday where his wedge game all

00:54of a sudden you're like what what are these shots he's hitting he's like chunking his wedges uh was

00:59struggling hitting it pin high granted he has a nine shot lead so let's not judge the guy but maybe

01:05you're starting to wonder all right maybe this is some of the things that he's been kind of dealing

01:08with this year all right let's move on to approach play charlie so 2023 an elite elite iron player from

01:16125 to 200 yards basically so you can kind of take that 125 to 150 150 175 175 to 200 he's basically in

01:26the top 10 in every single one of those stats and that's basically his second year on tour so he goes

01:31from uh being a very good driver of the ball uh his his rookie year and then a very good approach player

01:39his second year where even in 2022 like he was average 2000 even last year his iron game was

01:46pretty solid but this year his iron game has been so bad so bad i find that so interesting because it's

01:55like it seems like we're dropping off in multiple categories but really just the putter holding the

01:59entire thing together i mean does that does that i mean here we go we're supposedly congratulating this

02:04got his first win almost well i just it's so easy sometimes to say well should cam young be on the

02:10rider cup team right and i'm i'm here to tell you that his iron play has been really really tough this

02:16year you from yeah i would his first 14 events he lost he lost to the field average in 11 of those

02:26events he lost strokes so when we think about cameron young we're like okay uh so he's not ironing it

02:33good and he's like 156 in that 175 to 200 category so when i start to think about beth page black i

02:40probably could see a lot of shots from that 175 to 200 range but then i look at the win of championship

02:45this week what did he do really well this week par three play was so good and guess how many shots

02:51are that 175 to 200 range like a ton so there's there's obviously some good that came from this week

02:59some things that he had been struggling with his iron play um obviously got a tick up it wasn't

03:05perfect he was around like 20th i'd say in in um his iron play this week but but clearly was if you

03:13watch just like the eyeball test like how many times he hit iron shots you're just like man i want to

03:18replicate that rhythm that shot shape and it seems like he can't miss a shot so

03:24uh and then real quick the driving elite um pretty he's pretty much been an elite driver and then i'd

03:31say this year he's been an average driver of the golf ball for for his standard i would say
