00:00And Mike, in just general philosophy of architecture, you mentioned the sand belt, you guys, of course, probably preferring that
00:06style of golf and trying to maybe mix a little bit of that design features into which maybe we see
00:12him a diner at other places. But the feeling out process, I imagine has to be there a little bit
00:17from an architecture, but then also something like a Jeff Ogilvie, who's got a player's mind, he knows what he
00:22likes, he knows what he doesn't like.
00:24Like, was there an initial feeling like this was either going to work or there are times in the early
00:29goings where there was butting heads of like, no, this is kind of how I see things and this is
00:34how we should do it.
00:35Was there, you know, just talk about how that process went and was it pretty seamless to start?
00:42It's pretty seamless, really. I mean, Ashley and I have worked together for 26 years.
00:48And Jeff's, you know, been apart for almost half that, I guess.
00:52And I think we just like the same sorts of golf.
00:57You know, we like, we don't like narrow penal tests of golf.
01:01And I think a lot of that is your upbringing.
01:04You know, we grew up playing Royal Melbourne and Kingston Heath and Victoria.
01:08And they're pretty wide golf courses, brilliant bunkering, great green complexes, and very sort of strategically pure, I would say.
01:17You know, there's not, every bunker kind of has a purpose.
01:20Every hazard has a purpose on those courses.
01:23And pretty much always there's an advantage for playing close to the hazard with a better line to the green
01:28or a shorter shot or a better lie.
01:30Or, you know, it's kind of, it's sort of strategy 101.
01:34And so when you grow up with that mindset, and visually, I think the Sandbelt courses, you know, are so
01:42beautiful.
01:42They're so incredible to look at.
01:45That was a huge influence on us.
01:46So it's rare that we would, that any of us would look at a new project or a new site
01:52and not sort of be somewhat on the same page.
01:56I mean, we end up, you know, I mean, like, when it comes time to build a project, one of
02:03us, you know, usually Ashley or I are probably a bit more heavily involved.
02:07And, you know, it might be 70% me and 30% Ashley or vice versa.
02:11And there's little things you might do differently to each other.
02:14You know, you might see a particular shot.
02:16It's not like we're consistent among every single aspect.
02:18But it'd be very rare to go and build something and someone else to come on site and go, I'm
02:23not sure about that.
02:25What were you thinking?
02:26You know, it's usually going to be in the realm of, you know, what we all like to see.
