02:24Designers, I'm sure you know, Chopard is world famous and renowned for our high jewelry
02:29and watches.
02:30I have selected some special pieces from our latest collection and I hope you will be very
02:35inspired.
02:36For this challenge, you are creating an extravagant evening wear look.
02:41You will each be choosing a jewel that catches your eye.
02:46And your model will wear the jewel or jewels on the runway.

02:50This is your moment to really wow the judges and pull out all the stops.
02:56You will have one day for this challenge and Caroline is our guest judge for this challenge

07:02There is an incredible exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
07:05It's called Charles James Beyond Fashion.

07:09He was especially famous for extravagant evening wear.
07:12So I want you to be exposed to this and not have your designs be fully baked until we see that exhibition.

07:22To be able to go to the Met today and to see a Charles James exhibit, I mean, it's amazing.

08:54So, it's perfect for this challenge because it's really going to set me apart from everyone else.

10:20inspired at the Charles James exhibit at how the fabric looked like it had just formed naturally

12:40I'm inspired by blankets from the Northwest, so this kind of reminds me of what I originally

12:49What happens to this very large-scale pattern, where you have to create seams in order to construct
12:56the coat?
12:57It's all off by about an inch.

15:18But I definitely need to construct the entire bottom half of the gown and try to figure out a wow factor.

15:28I'm still hand tacking the pieces while it's still on the form because hand sewing is more of a precise way to get things to lay together.

23:45Her look is so dramatic.
23:54She just completely commands the room.
23:57The necklace looks amazing against the black backdrop.

24:08And honestly, I think mine's the most extravagant on the runway.
24:14I was going for a more subtle gala look.
24:21I really tried to not overpowering the jewel.

29:10I got the pair of diamond hoop earrings and the diamond ring.
29:19So I created this look that showed structure yet flowiness.
29:23I do love the sheer over the structure dress underneath.
29:26The skirt could have been a little bit shorter.
29:29I agree with Heidi on the length.
29:31The boob darts are quite unfortunate.
29:34I think her hair and makeup look fabulous.
29:37But from the waist down, the fabric is too thick and coarse.

29:43The choice of color is perfect for the diamonds.
29:46Definitely I would have picked another fabric underneath.

29:54My jewels, this gorgeous diamond ruby.
29:57So I settled on what I call Grace Kelly meets Grace Jones.
30:02I kind of took a risk and made a jumpsuit with this overdress.
30:07I made kind of a fabric buying mistake.
30:09I think she looks great.
30:11I like that you stepped outside of the box a little bit.
30:13You didn't just give us a gown.
30:15You gave us a jumpsuit and this coat over it.
30:18And it's very unusual.
30:20I am happy to see that you challenge us.
30:23I see this and I could see becoming an Instagram sensation.
30:28And an editorial sensation, really.
30:31So I really liked it.
30:33Seeing it on a red carpet, I would see it going the premiere of a futuristic science fiction movie.

30:55This one immediately stood out to me.
30:57It's a really bold statement piece.
30:59So I wanted to do something equally as bold.
31:02So I wanted to do just a really exaggerated coat with an exaggerated shoulder.
31:06I found this fabric in the upholstery section.
31:10I really love this look.
31:13It made me dream of being somewhere else.
31:17There is something very ethnic about this.
31:20It played very well with the exoticism of the necklace.
31:25It was like Dita Blair meets Dracula a little bit.

32:08The piece that caught my eye immediately when we walked into the room has this giant,

32:18But for my look, I took inspiration from the Charles James exhibit
32:22because I loved the way that it looked as though the fabric had been manipulated in tons of ways.

33:02So I picked the vitrine that was the only one that had the watch in it.
33:06I could see myself wearing it if I were to be able to wear the diamonds.
33:09I kind of wanted to push myself in the evening because I've never done anything with a fitted bodice.
33:14So I went on that route with a little bit of draping on the sides.
33:16This is drab.
33:17There's not much to this to talk about.

33:46I chose the very classical looking three-piece set.
33:50I designed for a young royal who has to attend something which is very formal,
33:56but she still wants to have a simple elegance to her.
