Shocking! Thar Driver Rams Elderly Man in Broad Daylight in Jammu – Caught on CCTV!

A disturbing video from Jammu has surfaced on social media, showing a deliberate hit-and-run involving an elderly man and a Thar SUV. The incident took place around 1:30 PM on Sunday (July 27) on the road from Gandhi Nagar to Greenbelt Park, and has left netizens outraged over the brazen act of violence.

The CCTV footage captures the chilling moment when the elderly man, riding a scooter, collides with a Thar near Allora Textiles. He falls, but manages to stand up—only to be intentionally rammed again as the Thar driver reverses at high speed, sending the senior citizen sliding several feet across the road.

Eyewitnesses rushed the injured man to the hospital. His condition is reported to be stable.

Following public outcry, police have lodged an FIR under multiple serious sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including:
● Section 281 – Negligent driving,
● Section 109 – Attempt to murder,
● Section 125(A) – Endangering human life.

The accused driver, identified as Manan Anand, is currently absconding. Authorities believe he has fled the city. In a swift move, police have seized the Thar and taken Manan’s father, Rajinder Anand, into custody, as he is the vehicle's registered owner.

Witnesses also noted that a young man exited the Thar after the incident, exchanged words with the victim and bystanders, and then fled the scene.

The graphic nature of the video has sparked calls for justice, with many demanding the immediate arrest of Manan Anand and stricter laws against such reckless and intentional violence.
