00:05and for the second time, a CCN TV6 personality has been targeted.
00:10The website, sonicvortex.com, claims that Ronald Ramkesun's new project has made more
00:17than 10,000 Trinidadians happy with a guaranteed income of 40,000 TT per week.
00:24The website, which bears the name and logo of CNC3 and Guardian Media, also claims that
00:29the platform called Stable Rodex is being run under the close supervision of TNT's Ministry
00:35of Finance and in collaboration with local banking systems.
00:40The website goes on to name CCN's Marc Basant as one participant in the programme, with
00:45a fake testimonial that he invested 1,800 TTD, which yielded a return of over 22,000 in just
00:53five days.
00:54Basant is urging members of the public not to fall victim to the scam.
00:59It seems that these fraudsters are using personalities and persons with credibility purportedly to
01:11push their online scheme.
01:14I can say unequivocally that I have never invested in this project.
01:18I've never had any financial gains.
01:21So it is wrong to use my image and fictitious comments to endorse this alleged scheme.
01:29So I want to again say that this is entirely false.
01:33Back in June and again in July, I myself was also targeted in a similar manner with the misuse
01:40of my name and image.
01:41The Fair Trading Commission had issued a warning to the public about the circulation of the
01:46fraudulent AI generated video, which also falsely utilised the Commission's logo and identity
01:52in an attempt to solicit funds under false pretenses.
