00:00That's Shakin with Ruchal for more on tonight's weather forecast.
00:03Thanks, Nisha. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago.
00:06Here's a rundown on your weather.
00:08We're starting with what happened today.
00:10If your usual afternoon route takes you along the Uriah Butler Highway,
00:14you would have seen two bushfires that have been burning over the past few days,
00:19causing reduced visibility and heavy traffic congestion.
00:22In places like Trinidad and Tobago, the dry season creates ideal conditions for bushfires
00:28because large areas of dry grass can catch fire quickly and spread rapidly,
00:33especially if there are strong winds.
00:36A person can help prevent bushfires by avoiding careless use of fire,
00:41burning debris only when permitted,
00:44safely disposing of cigarettes and clearing dry grass and rubbish around their homes.
00:49Maintaining equipment to prevent sparks and reporting any signs of fire quickly
00:53can also stop small fires from spreading.
00:56Now that we have that covered, moving on to tonight where we can expect fair and hazy conditions
01:01with a chance for a brief shower with minimum temperatures at 24 degrees in both islands.
01:08And tomorrow conditions will be fair, hazy and breezy to windy,
01:12becoming partly cloudy with a few light, moderate showers.
01:15There is a low chance of those showers becoming heavy and a moderate concentration
01:20of Saharan dust is present, will be present in the atmosphere.
01:24Sensitive persons should take the necessary precautions.
01:27Tomorrow's maximum temperatures are 31 degrees in Trinidad and 30 degrees in Tobago.
01:33Now those same conditions will continue on into our weekend,
01:37with showers expected mainly near hilly areas.
01:40Saturday and Sunday will both give us maximum temperatures of 31 degrees in Trinidad
01:45and 30 degrees in Tobago.
01:48So I have some good news.
01:50Dust concentrations are set to decrease into the weekend,
01:54with dust-free days forecast by next week.
01:57So sensitive persons will soon get a much-needed break from the poor quality air quality.
02:02Now looking at our sun times in Trinidad, sunrise is at 621 and 619 in Tobago,
02:08and sunset is at 615 in Trinidad and 612 in Tobago.
02:13So as tempting as it sounds to get your feet wet at the beach,
02:17tomorrow remember that a hazardous sea salute is still in effect,
02:20and our seas will also be moderate to rough,
02:23with waves 2.5 meters in open waters,
02:27and 1 meter to 1.5 meters, occasionally choppy, in sheltered areas.
02:31It is now time for your Thai times.
02:45Well, that's all for weather tonight.
02:47Don't go anywhere because there's more news when we come back.
