Hello there, a very good evening to you. Hope you've enjoyed the weekend. Although some
00:05
of us have been dodging some quite heavy downpours today. We've seen thunderstorms pushing across
00:10
central and eastern areas of England with that lightning hail and very wet conditions.
00:17
Generally as we head into the evening the thunderstorms will be easing off but there
00:21
is the potential for some further heavy pulses of rain to just push southwards across areas
00:26
of England and Wales. Generally further towards the north we will start to see some clearer spells
00:30
developing over the course of the night still with a fairly brisk breeze around in places.
00:36
But with those clear spells temperatures will take a slight dip in places. Certainly towns and cities
00:40
will manage to hold up around 11-14 degrees Celsius but rural spots may be dropping down
00:46
into single figures as we start off Monday morning. Do you aware then that there could be some heavy
00:52
rain still lingering for the far south east of England as you head to work on Monday and also
00:57
a few showers for north Wales, parts of the Merseyside Cheshire region as well. Again a few
01:02
showers just lingering across the eastern coast of England but for many other areas it will be a dry
01:06
fine day and the sunshine should come through more readily now compared to the relatively cloudy skies
01:11
we've seen over the weekend. Temperatures are expected to be around average for this time of the
01:16
year peaking between 18 and 23 degrees Celsius but that brisk northwesterly wind will still be in
01:22
place during Monday so that may make it feel a touch cooler when you do eventually step outside.
01:29
Things though should stay fine and dry for many of us as we head into the evening period on Monday
01:35
though we might start to see the odd sharper shower just developing across some northeastern coasts of
01:40
England. Generally these fine conditions are being brought in by this area of high pressure that's going
01:45
to be building in from the Atlantic as we head throughout this week not quite reaching all
01:49
areas by Tuesday so there are still a few fronts just slipping their way into the north but generally
01:53
on Tuesday morning a lot of clear skies will again allow for those temperatures to be dipping their way
01:58
down perhaps even chillier now with rural spots of Scotland getting down to low single figures in
02:04
places. That front in the northwest will start to build the cloud for Northern Ireland, Western
02:09
Scotland and we could see some outbreaks of generally light rain arriving here later on in the day.
02:14
Again still just a few showers skirting through eastern areas of England perhaps quite cloudy for
02:19
East Anglia at the time but many other areas will hold on to plentiful amounts of sunshine and it will
02:25
be with lighter winds feeling that touch warmer as well. Temperatures peaking around 20 to 25 degrees
02:31
Celsius in many locations. Those temperatures though are going to be on the climb even further as we head
02:38
throughout the rest of this week. That sunshine will become increasingly widespread as high pressure
02:44
develops across many areas of the UK and the day-on-day heating we receive from that sunshine will allow
02:51
for those values to reach close to 30 degrees Celsius in places towards the end of the week so the heat is
02:57
going to be building once again. Do stay up to date with the forecast for all the latest details then as we head over this
03:04
forthcoming week we'll have plenty more on that heat as it does build and we'll see you again very soon. Bye bye.
