00:00Hello there.
00:01A very good morning to you.
00:02Welcome to your latest weather updates from the Metaphys.
00:05If you are up early enough this morning, you'll probably be noticing quite a lot of cloud
00:08on the scene, but fear not, it will be breaking up throughout today.
00:12And particularly for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, we should be seeing plentiful amounts
00:16of sunshine developing over the course of the day.
00:19The cloud probably a little bit more persistent for parts of Scotland, but the inner outer
00:23Hebrides and the Northern Isles hopefully seeing some brightness developing.
00:26We might just see the odd showers skirting past the very far south-west of England, but
00:29for most it's a dry day to come.
00:32Our highest temperatures will also be down towards the south-west, highs of 31 to 32 degrees
00:36celsius around south Wales and into parts of the west country.
00:40It's a little fresher out towards the east coast where we've got this breeze coming in
00:43off the North Sea, but further inland, if you see plenty of sunshine it should feel fairly
00:48pleasant, highs of 21 and 24 degrees celsius still across parts of Scotland and Northern
00:54Ireland.
00:55Do be aware though, if you're heading outside today, that UV levels are high, if not very
00:59high across all areas of the UK.
01:02And so even if you're in these fresher conditions where that breeze is in play, you will still
01:06need that sun protection if you're going to be outside for prolonged periods of time.
01:11We have this breeze in play because high pressure and low pressure are pushing together.
01:15We've got this squeeze in the isobars that is allowing those winds to strengthen and certainly
01:20later on today, overnight into tomorrow, we're going to see the winds really pick up through
01:24the English Channel in particular.
01:26And so we could well be seeing gusts in excess of 35, 40 miles an hour in places that will
01:31really start to chop up the waves in places and seas could become relatively rough during
01:35this next 48 hour period.
01:37So it's worth taking care if you are heading towards any of these coastal locations in
01:41the next couple of days.
01:43For the rest of this evening, though, it should be relatively fine and dry for most into the
01:47overnight period.
01:48There'll be a little bit more cloud that will once again spread in from eastern coastal
01:52regions.
01:52Probably not as extensive as we've seen first thing this morning, but there will be patches
01:57of mist and murk just lingering around the coasts there.
01:59Though towards the west, plenty of clear skies overnight.
02:02And for many, it should hopefully be a fresher night to come and a little bit more easier
02:06for sleeping in many locations.
02:08Lows of around 12 to 16 degrees Celsius, even a little bit cooler there for the far north
02:13of Scotland.
02:13But it's probably the far southwest of England once again, far southwest of Wales, where we
02:18could just hold locally up around 19, maybe 20 degrees Celsius, so a warm night still to
02:23come here.
02:25Once again on Monday, there could just be the odd shower that wants to skirt past the very
02:30far south of England, probably likely across the Channel Islands, but weakening as they
02:34head towards the far south of England.
02:37Elsewhere, once again, it should be a decent day to come with plentiful amounts of sunshine,
02:41any of that cloud in the east burning back to the coasts.
02:44It could just linger in places, but most of us seem to have a fine and pleasant day to
02:49come.
02:49That breeze is still in place, so it's once again going to be relatively cool for the time
02:54of year across eastern coastal regions, 17 to 22 degrees Celsius here.
02:58But once again, further inland, with that decent amount of sunshine, temperatures will be climbing
03:03quite widely into the mid to high 20s.
03:06So a touch lower than we've seen in recent days, but 30 degrees Celsius is still very
03:10possible once again in some localized spots across southern Wales and southwestern England.
03:15And that heat wave criteria is likely still to be met across many areas of Wales and southern
03:22central England over this forthcoming week.
03:24Highs of 30 degrees Celsius still very much possible right throughout the week, so the
03:29heat is going to be continuing even if we don't necessarily have the highs of 35 degrees
03:34that we've seen over the week just gone.
03:37So keep up to date with all the latest details, and you'll find them on our YouTube channel,
03:41so do subscribe for those.
03:43Otherwise, enjoy your day.
03:44Bye-bye.
