00:00:00We are the champions, so you play like f***ing champions and that is everything.
00:00:12Because we work harder than everyone else, that's the difference.
00:00:22So go to the pits with that confidence and believe and f***ing trust in each other.
00:00:27We deserve to be here, that's just 11 men in there.
00:00:33Talk, talk, talk, we go talking on the pitch.
00:00:36Well this is what it feels like to be Celtic.
00:00:42Well this is what it feels like to be Celtic.
00:00:48Oh, the ball's broken down and it's broken the way of Adam.
00:00:54And it's broken the way of Adam Ida.
00:01:00Celtic have won the double.
00:01:01At the end of the first campaign we finished really strong.
00:01:06We finished the season on a high.
00:01:07So it was looking to take that momentum into pre-season.
00:01:12And build on that the second half of the first season.
00:01:15The second half of the first season.
00:01:16The second half of the season.
00:01:17The second half of the second half of the first season.
00:01:22The third half of the second half of the second half of the season.
00:01:32So we're going to take the momentum and build on that second half of the first season.
00:01:39the first season.
00:02:04Going into this season, I think that what we were trying to build on is just see, OK,
00:02:07we've now set the platform for what we want to be and you can see it, especially in the
00:02:10second half of last season, you know, we started to really fire on all cylinders and it was
00:02:15about, OK, how can we now take that and step it up another gear?
00:02:19The supporters want to see fast attacking football, can we add another level to that?
00:02:23We finished the season really strongly and it was more about trying to do it on a more
00:02:27consistent basis so that we then didn't get to the point where you're chasing it in the
00:02:31last ten days again of this season coming.
00:02:38Having signed promising young Finnish goalkeeper Viljami Sinisalo only days ago, Celtic have
00:02:55also moved to bring experienced Danish international shot stopper Kasper Schmeichel to the club
00:03:00on a one year deal.
00:03:01I met the squad in America and straight away it felt like I'd been here for a while.
00:03:09When I've joined clubs, there's always people you want to impress, you know, and you come
00:03:13into a club like this, you know, you've got the likes of Callum and Greg and James and those
00:03:17kind of guys that have been here for a long time, that have seen it, done it, won it.
00:03:21You want to show them that you're worthy of being here.
00:03:23Great exposure, great facilities, great to see the fans in that part of the world as well,
00:03:42but I think it really set the tone for the group straight away.
00:03:46The first game against DC and then you had Man City, Chelsea and actually I think you could
00:03:50see the performances right away, the boys were on the money.
00:03:54I think for me personally, the whole pre-season is important for me and I think we had a great
00:04:01time there, a couple of good games and yeah, I think it was just really important to prepare
00:04:06good for the big games coming.
00:04:13We played exceptionally well in pre-season and really nailed a lot of our principles in terms
00:04:18of what we want and then we took that into the first game and into the opening period
00:04:22of the season and we got off to a fantastic start.
00:04:27The champions are here and they're on the hunt for more silverware.
00:04:30Yes, that's the message from Brendan Rodgers as the boys return from an impeccable pre-season
00:04:35tour of the USA looking to wreak havoc on the domestic opposition teams standing in their
00:04:40way of more glory.
00:04:42Write them off at your peril.
00:04:44It's sure to be a fantastic season ahead both at home and in Europe.
00:04:51It's a great day, the champions carrying on from where they left off.
00:04:58O'Reilly's corner, it's Scales have got their 2-0 to the champions.
00:05:05Nicholas Kuhn, an opening day statement of intent from the champions of Scotland.
00:05:14McCrory saves, but Ralston is there, setting the standards in game one.
00:05:234-0 to the champions.
00:05:26Casper, your first experience in a Celtic jersey at Celtic Park, did it meet with expectation?
00:05:31It exceeded expectation.
00:05:33Yeah, it's been an incredible welcome, I've got to say.
00:05:37It's been overwhelming, you know, and something that makes me very proud, but it also makes
00:05:45me very, very motivated to keep winning for this team.
00:05:50Kuhn, lovely pass inside to Callum McGregor, does he fancy a shot?
00:05:54He goes for goal, what a strike from the captain!
00:05:57What an unbelievable goal from Callum McGregor!
00:06:03We started amazing, started really well.
00:06:05Results, performances, a goal scored, not many conceded at all really.
00:06:10So it was a perfect start, perfect foundation for what was to come.
00:06:23Matt O'Reilly was an important player we'd lost in the window.
00:06:26When he left, we had obviously other people who could cover that position.
00:06:31But from the pre-season right through till January, our strength was the depth of squad
00:06:36and then the depth of quality.
00:06:38To try and help us sustain the levels of freshness and energy, having the bigger squad definitely helped us.
00:06:46100 days since they met in the Scottish Cup final, Celtic and Rangers are reunited.
00:06:53A fixture that takes passion and obsession to a different level.
00:06:57It is the ultimate derby.
00:07:00Oh, it's come across to Dyson Mider!
00:07:06Kyogo, he's taking this on!
00:07:09What a funny shot that is.
00:07:12Of course he is!
00:07:14Mider crashing in, McGregor fancies another screamer!
00:07:19And he's only gone and done it!
00:07:22For the third time this season!
00:07:25No mercy from the champions!
00:07:30Celtic absolutely bossing it again!
00:07:34Well, I think it was Derby.
00:07:37Getting the win in the Derby game especially was a very big result.
00:07:43And of course it gave us a very big confidence.
00:07:46So yeah, I think it was a very big result for us.
00:07:50James, you join a very elite club today.
00:07:53500 appearances for Celtic, how does that feel?
00:07:56I think it's hard to describe.
00:07:57I think when you come through here as a young boy, you're buzzing when you make your debut.
00:08:01And I think I've just kind of kicked on since then.
00:08:04And it's been really good personally.
00:08:06And for the club over the last few years, I think it's been really successful.
00:08:11And I'm absolutely delighted.
00:08:13You don't last at the club for 500 appearances 15 years unless you've got something special.
00:08:18He's a great guy to be around.
00:08:20And yeah, it's another reason why he's managed to be such an influential role at this club for such a long time.
00:08:27This Champions League campaign, Brendan, looking back to last season,
00:08:30what's the biggest thing you think you learned about your squad, yourself,
00:08:34last season that you can bring into this new formatted campaign?
00:08:37I think there was a lot of learning in it.
00:08:39But for me, looking at it, I'm thinking if we could strengthen the squad,
00:08:42then we could take another step and be closer.
00:08:45And we've been able to do that.
00:08:46It's still about us and how we play in our world.
00:08:50And I think that hopefully we can show that over the eight games.
00:08:53Celtic Park and the atmosphere created in Glasgow's East End is a unique experience,
00:09:00one befitting of this competition.
00:09:13Everyone knows about the atmosphere at Celtic Park when that anthem goes up.
00:09:18And probably my favourite thing to do is to look at the opposition bench and just see the reaction of their players,
00:09:26how their facial expressions change when they hear that noise.
00:09:31The game also was perfect for us.
00:09:46We started off really well and then everything came together.
00:09:50I think for a lot of players, it was the first Champions League game, including me.
00:10:04So it was a special night and unbelievable atmosphere that game.
00:10:09And the man from Cork has got the champagne popping on a memorable night for the Scottish champions.
00:10:18Oh, it's quite the higher up.
00:10:22That's perfect. Thank you, big child. Right here.
00:10:26Brendan Rodgers has been named Manager of the Month for September.
00:10:29His Celtic side recorded victories over Rangers, Hearts and St Johnstone,
00:10:33and are yet to concede a goal in the Scottish Premiership.
00:10:37To be able to maintain the standards that we maintain in every single game,
00:10:41in that many competitions, that's a testament to the professionalism of the players,
00:10:47to the organisation of the staff and the vision of the manager
00:10:53and his ability to keep people fresh, put people in, take people out.
00:11:00Johnstone looking to release Kuhn.
00:11:03He's done just that.
00:11:07Oh, what a finish!
00:11:10He's been one of the stars of the season!
00:11:12Celtic have turned it around!
00:11:16Better late than never!
00:11:19This season, Nick really grabbed it, you know, grabbed that.
00:11:22That position and made it his own from the get-go.
00:11:26His performances in pre-season were unbelievable
00:11:28and then he carried that on right at the beginning of the season
00:11:31and he's been really enjoyable to play with.
00:11:45I think the first time I hear my own song was after the Ross County game.
00:11:49Yeah, of course, for me and my family, it was really, really nice to have their own song and, yeah, special.
00:11:57Everyone within the building feels that that was kind of the turning point for us in Europe.
00:12:04You know, you talk to supporters as well, they also feel that.
00:12:07We went there, we defended, we gave everything, we left it all out in that pitch, everyone could see it.
00:12:11And we got out of there, you know, with a nil-nil, a massive point against one of the best teams in Europe, away from home.
00:12:16And that gave us the belief that, you know, if we need to defend, we can defend.
00:12:20And I think that that was a big stepping stone for us and really kicked us on in that European campaign.
00:12:25It just probably epitomises the rhythm of the team at that point where we're defending really well,
00:12:31everybody looks strong, we're keeping the ball well, we're attacking well.
00:12:36And you're in a nice rhythm and a nice flow and that just seems to just take off and you gather momentum.
00:12:42The League Cup semi-final, Celtic against Aberdeen.
00:12:49Brendan Rodgers said it's the one that got away from them last year, this League Cup.
00:12:54And the header from Cameron, Carter Vickers!
00:13:00Still dies in Maeda, lays it back to Keogh!
00:13:04Goal!
00:13:09Still Celtic have it, still Celtic have it!
00:13:12What a goal from Celtic!
00:13:15I think they were equal with us in the League and we all had the same mindset of
00:13:21we really want to beat them and show how strong we are.
00:13:24And that came all together, we were perfect at that night.
00:13:30Dyson Maeda!
00:13:31Dyson Maeda has had a tremendous season. What do you feel he's brought to the team?
00:13:54What did he not bring to the team? He brought everything to the team.
00:13:58The team was in a great form, so yeah, it's been very, very good.
00:14:05And personally, I'm doing what I've been doing and like the performance has been very constant, very stable.
00:14:12So I really enjoyed playing football.
00:14:18An almighty match day four in the UEFA Champions League is upon us.
00:14:22The Scottish champions look to turn the screw on their qualification chances.
00:14:28Across it goes, and it's Christoph Baumgartner!
00:14:36Engels, lovely touch up to Kuhn.
00:14:39Engels continuing his run, Kuhn, now to deliver!
00:14:42Off the post, and into the back of the net!
00:14:45What a strike that is for Nicolas Kuhn!
00:14:47Unbelievable. I think that's a night I will always remember.
00:14:53My first and second Champions League goal, and against Leipzig was of course something really nice for me and my family.
00:15:01There's really nothing like Champions League nights, and especially Champions League nights at Celtic Park.
00:15:06Johnson, three in the middle, and it's in from Adate!
00:15:11And could this be the marquee victory that Celtic have been craving in the Champions League?
00:15:18Performance-wise, in that first period, right up there, we were probably some of the best teams I've seen at Celtic.
00:15:24And I've played a lot in good teams as well, so you have the reference point of what a good team looks like,
00:15:31and some of the football, the slickness of it.
00:15:33One touch, two touch stuff, playing with real pace and intensity, and actually quality as well when you get to the final bit of the game.
00:15:40Can you put the ball in the back of the net?
00:15:43Oh, what a finish! What a goal from Rio Hattate!
00:15:47When I look back on, probably at the end of the season, what were three or five of the most important games,
00:15:52I think that match will definitely spring to mind in terms of, it wasn't the prettiest by any stretch of the imagination,
00:15:59but it's one of those ones that, you win that, that put a real, you know, knife into their title hopes,
00:16:05but also really kind of kicked us on and set us up for going into that winter spell,
00:16:09which we knew was going to be crazy, midweek matches throughout, you know, a three-month kind of block there that was going to be non-stop.
00:16:15We knew it was going to be difficult, so we knew that every point mattered, and that kind of stuff really set us up well for that period coming up.
00:16:22What I did this week, and then I'll be trying to do it, leaving it to take big games, and especially finals,
00:16:40let's take little clips of how we played, some big games that we played in, this season you think of Leipzig,
00:16:49you think of Leipzig, you think of Leipzig at home, St. Johnston away, all these games that we've been really, really good in.
00:16:55So not just in football, but in different sports, I looked a wee bit at the Yusuk, Fury fights.
00:17:02And what the overriding message in all of it is, is seeing the opportunity falls to those who work the hearts.
00:17:09So looking at us, looking at how we play, looking at that fight, looking at other things, the opportunity is there for the guys for working the hardest.
00:17:19So my point is here, is that, just to remove this bit of doubt, because the if we play well, we will win the cup, there's doubt there.
00:17:29And the doubt is if.
00:17:31And what I'm saying is, see when we walk out this door, we replace the if, with when.
00:17:38Because see when, we work hard as we do, you'll be stood at the podium at the end of the game.
00:17:45We work, we fight, we press, we run, we show equality, we win the game.
00:17:50Okay, good, let's go.
00:17:56Well the Premier Sports Cup is on the line at Hampden Park, where the first trophy of the season,
00:18:00will be delivered, and this is the way to decide it.
00:18:08And I've said it many, many times, that is the strength of us.
00:18:11We are together, staff, players, everyone.
00:18:15We trust each other, and on days like today, we trust each other even more.
00:18:19So they'll be found wanting in that environment.
00:18:21You play hard, you be strong, you look after each other.
00:18:24And then we have got so much quality in this room, and there's quality they've been able to have, let's be honest.
00:18:29We're the top team, eh?
00:18:30Yeah.
00:18:31So have the belief.
00:18:32Play with no fear.
00:18:37Okay.
00:18:38So just very quickly.
00:18:40So see if a team was to be deserving of the trophy till this point of the season.
00:18:46It will be given to you now.
00:18:48The finals aren't about that.
00:18:50You've got to earn it.
00:18:51Okay.
00:18:52My final message to you is this.
00:18:55Go and own that pitch.
00:18:57See every blade of grass on that pitch.
00:19:00We own it.
00:19:01Okay.
00:19:02We play our football.
00:19:03Then we can come in here and have a great night with the Celtic family and our own families.
00:19:08Okay.
00:19:09But we have to earn it.
00:19:10Okay.
00:19:11Good luck.
00:19:12Let's go.
00:19:15There is no game in football like this one.
00:19:17No Derby bigger, louder, or more passionate.
00:19:24Carter Vickers coming across.
00:19:25Iqman is going to drop for Pairami.
00:19:29Rangers lead at Hampden Park.
00:19:31Struck on the edge and deflected.
00:19:36Shelting level.
00:19:38I don't know how the fans do it.
00:19:39It was heart in your mouth stuff the whole match.
00:19:42We score.
00:19:43They'd equalize.
00:19:44Just going back and forth it felt like.
00:19:45And it felt like you could have played for, you know, two days straight and the game probably still would have been level.
00:19:50It's Nicolas Kuhn.
00:19:53Shelting strike late.
00:19:56I was hoping that it was over.
00:19:58It was, again, another really, really nice moment.
00:20:02But I think just seconds after we conceded the 3-3.
00:20:06Rangers have two and a half minutes to try and get back into this.
00:20:09And they have locked a final.
00:20:11This is simply unbelievable.
00:20:24Penalty kicks, it just, at that point, it kind of is just a lottery, isn't it?
00:20:27I'm still young, so I'm trying to avoid everybody getting into my head and trying to stay cool.
00:20:35And I think I did really well there.
00:20:38I had a lot of trust in Kasper as well.
00:20:40I mean, he's really good.
00:20:41He's one of those keepers that takes pride in believing that he can win that mental battle.
00:20:46Kasper Schmeichel, the Great Dane gets down low.
00:20:53I always want to play well and always want to have a good performance, but at the end of the day, I don't really care as long as we end up with a trophy.
00:21:00That, for me, is the only reason I play football.
00:21:03That's the ultimate pressure.
00:21:05And it weighs on the shoulder of Dyson Maeda to win the Premier Sports Cup for Celtic.
00:21:12It's Maeda!
00:21:13He scores!
00:21:14It's Celtic's moment!
00:21:15It's Maeda's moment!
00:21:17It's Maeda's moment!
00:21:30Probably I was chosen because I was practicing in the training and I think Gaffer told me that I can take it.
00:21:38So, I could go there with the confidence and I was glad that I got the goal.
00:21:49It's a trophy reclaimed!
00:21:5327 major titles in just 14 years.
00:21:59If you can get that first trophy then, of course, it gives a real good feeling.
00:22:04It was really something tangible to show for the really good start that we had had in the season in all competitions.
00:22:10Really happy day for me because I won my first cup there and also to have family here was really special for me.
00:22:19Are you all pitching alone?
00:22:21It's fine.
00:22:22It's fine, brother.
00:22:23It's fine, brother.
00:22:24It's fine, brother.
00:22:25It's fine, brother.
00:22:26If you want to pitch your own, I'll pitch your own.
00:22:29To have my kids there with me on the pitch, for them to experience that, for them to be ingrained into the way Celtic do it, to become proper Celtic fans, that's important moments.
00:22:42And those are the ones that, one day, many years from now, when you're retired, I think those are the ones you remember.
00:22:50We enjoyed that night.
00:22:51I actually had my bachelor party or my stag do over for that weekend.
00:22:55So, they were really looking forward and they were, I think, even more worried than me to make sure that we won that match so they could all have a night out with the whole team.
00:23:03So, it all worked out in the end.
00:23:06So, if we play well, we win.
00:23:10If we don't play well, we win.
00:23:12You should deserve it.
00:23:14I said before, okay, you never have it all your own way in the final.
00:23:19But the most important thing is to be on that podium at the end, when you were there.
00:23:23So, you deserve to celebrate over these next couple of days.
00:23:28Your families deserve you as well.
00:23:30So, look after them, be with them.
00:23:32Okay, we've got stag do's, we've got Brady's birthday, we've got everything.
00:23:36Congratulations to every single one of you.
00:23:39Enjoy.
00:23:40And we'll see you all Wednesday.
00:23:41Okay.
00:23:46Bernardo checks inside.
00:23:48Knocks a beautiful ball into Maeda's path and sounds!
00:23:52Excellent play!
00:23:53And it's Celtic force and Johnston now.
00:23:56So many games, November, December, January, February is the longest months of the season.
00:24:01It's so intense and undoubtedly takes an impact on the team because you're playing three games a week for four months.
00:24:08When you lose that winter break so often, you work so hard pushing through December to get to that,
00:24:13knowing, okay, we'll have a week off in January.
00:24:16Everyone gets to regroup and mentally, you know, come back in for the second half of the season.
00:24:20But this year now, obviously, with the new Champions League format, not only was there no break, but January was one of our busiest months of the whole season.
00:24:27Celtic goalkeeper Casper Schmeichel has signed a one-year extension on his contract that will see him stay at the club until summer 2026.
00:24:38It looks from the outside, you know, seeing yourself on the pitch and the way you interact with the support and so on, that you're loving life here at Celtic.
00:24:50So how easy a decision was it to decide, yeah, I'm going to stay here for another season?
00:24:55It was probably the easiest contract extension I've ever signed in terms of, you know, we had a conversation and it was done virtually within a day or two.
00:25:06I've loved my time here up to now and had some big footsteps to follow in terms of Joe.
00:25:12But in that sense, having followed Joe all those years that he was here, I knew what there was to live up to.
00:25:18Yeah. And also if you do things right and you represent the club right, then you also get that back in bucket loads.
00:25:25And I feel that's been the case.
00:25:28Casper's done amazing. You now hear Casper in the pre-match stuff. He's vocal, he speaks well.
00:25:34That just transcends its way through the dressing room and then straight away on the pitch, you know, you're safe when he's behind you as well.
00:25:41Be proactive out there. Be proactive. Make things happen.
00:25:46These occasions are rare. They don't just come around all the time. We have to seize the opportunity, seize the moment.
00:25:52One of their season ambitions. Win tonight. And the knockout rounds will almost certainly await.
00:26:01Yeah, there was pressure leading into the game because young boys hadn't done so well in the competition.
00:26:07But you always know that every team in there are capable. And of course, the expectation then to not only qualify, but the expectation to win is there.
00:26:17We kept chipping away. We weren't under too much threat defensively, but offensively we tried to keep going.
00:26:25End up, it was a brilliant pass from Rio Atatu that gets Adam away.
00:26:29Five minutes ago, Ida, Adam Ida. Oh, it's going to go ahead and Celtic at long last have the goal.
00:26:38An own goal from Loris Benito. But look what it means to Adam Ida. It is an almighty moment at Celtic Park.
00:26:47The additional time has been played. One clearance might do it for Celtic. It's Lauper. And there's Schmeichel.
00:26:55And that will be greeted like a goal. Brendan Rochers. I've never seen him so relieved.
00:27:02What a moment for Schmeichel. Oh, 38 years young. Celtic win it. Celtic will be in the playoff rounds at least.
00:27:20Champions League nights at Celtic Park. It's pretty amazing. And yeah, I don't know what else can really beat it.
00:27:27Just the atmosphere alone and that coming here and that's a big, you know, factor when coming here.
00:27:32You understand like the situation you're going to walk into and, you know, it's really a dream come true.
00:27:38Kyogo's got a chance. Kyogo! Kyogo!
00:27:45With just days remaining in the January transfer window, Celtic have announced that striker Kyogo Furuhashi
00:27:50has left the club after three years for French side Stade Rene.
00:27:54The Ligue 1 outfit have also announced that their Portuguese winger, Jota,
00:27:58has returned to Celtic for the third time in his career on a five and a half year contract.
00:28:05If I'm going to see Kyogo's seat, it means that I'm going to score like 55.6.
00:28:10This is a sight I never thought I'd see again. Me neither bro. How are you? How are you? Good to see you back bro.
00:28:15My captain. How are you? Good bro. So you brought your own camera crew in there. Just following him out. Is that in the contract?
00:28:21I'm buzzing at the moment. It's feels like home. And for me, that's something that I was aiming for.
00:28:29And today going to Lennox town, it just felt like nostalgic, but it felt like I've never left.
00:28:35I'll just put this back a little bit and then some paperwork.
00:28:40Oh! Oh! Whoa! Did you catch that?
00:28:43Yeah, did you not? It'll be back.
00:28:45Welcome back my friend. Okay, this is a club that you know very, very well.
00:28:51He showed us a second time. Better than first time. Okay, well good luck. Enjoy your time.
00:28:57Great show.
00:29:04That was a great start for him. It reconnected him with the Celtic supporters.
00:29:08It felt really at home.
00:29:11And Jota wants to pass!
00:29:14And it has to happen, didn't it?
00:29:17The returning hero takes a familiar pose!
00:29:20It was just like a very personal moment and I wanted to share that with the Celtic fans.
00:29:26It was just like remembering the old times. I think we had a good and an amazing journey.
00:29:33And now coming back, I just want to continue that and this was just like for them.
00:29:38For them.
00:29:55A special day for Jota but also for yourself, Carlem, as you reach 500 appearances.
00:30:00How proud a moment is this for you and your family?
00:30:02Yeah, unbelievable. Like you said, hugely proud of it.
00:30:04It's a special day for me and probably more so for my family as well.
00:30:08They put in so much and sacrificed so much in my younger days to get me the opportunity here.
00:30:14So, really thankful to them.
00:30:17To come through the way Callum has and to bear that kind of responsibility, that's not easy.
00:30:24The standards that he sets every single day, that is the heartbeat of the club.
00:30:28He's one of the best ambassadors I think Celtic could ever ask for.
00:30:31It takes a really special person that's fully bought in and willing to commit their entire life.
00:30:36I mean, I'm telling you what, this guy is 24-7 thinking about not what's best for him but what is best for the Celtic Football Club.
00:30:43And whatever that is, he does it.
00:30:46And I think that that's something that I've got immense respect for him for because he is probably the best leader I've ever been around.
00:30:52And he's just a wonderful example of commitment and personality of what's needed to play for Celtic.
00:30:59And as a captain, he leads the changing room remarkably well.
00:31:04And for me, he's been one of the great foundations of the success that this club has had over this last generation.
00:31:12He's like a manager or even more the manager, the weight of the words that he says in the dressing room.
00:31:24The ability to unite the teams in and out of the dressing room or on and off the pitch is incredible.
00:31:30Listen to the fans, they are enjoying this football.
00:31:34Yeah, nice play.
00:31:35Here comes Celtic again.
00:31:36Engels plays it, followed into the path of Maida.
00:31:38A chance for number four.
00:31:39Oh, what a goal!
00:31:41That is a wonder goal!
00:31:43And that is just pure, beautiful, inventive football.
00:31:47What's a night we have in store.
00:31:52Celtic Park hosts a knockout tie in the UEFA Champions League for the first time in 12 years.
00:32:00Come on boys, let's go now.
00:32:07Boys, on nights like this, mistakes happen.
00:32:09How's our reaction?
00:32:11How much could we want it?
00:32:12Like I said out there, concentration.
00:32:14Locking your balls off.
00:32:16Running as hard as you possibly can for each other.
00:32:19So go to the pitch with that confidence and believe and trust in each other, right?
00:32:24An epic 90 minutes awaits us.
00:32:28And Nicolas Coombe!
00:32:2925 seconds on the clock!
00:32:33No, no, no, no, no!
00:32:35The German Giants, but the flag is up!
00:32:37To Elisse, one last chance to try and open the scoring and Michael Elisse!
00:32:47And it's a sore one for Celtic in the final seconds of the half!
00:32:52Probably in the last 25 minutes we gave them a right good goal and got the goal obviously
00:32:56and probably at the end of the game thinking we could have nicked another one.
00:32:59This place will lift off if Celtic get an equaliser.
00:33:04Johnson with power!
00:33:06Neuer, brilliantly positioned.
00:33:11I think at home we did well.
00:33:14Unlucky the goal after 20 seconds didn't count, but to get that 2-1 at the end was important
00:33:21going into the Allianz Arena.
00:33:23We need to win the game and we want to win the game.
00:33:28You know, when you play two-legged games it's important that you come into your second game
00:33:32and you have the opportunity and you have the chance to do that.
00:33:36And then it's just having that courage and that bravery to go and play a game.
00:33:42Well won, McGregor.
00:33:44And he's got support to his right from Coon.
00:33:46If he can find him, McGregor went for goal instead.
00:33:49I think the way the team played, the maturity that they showed, the patience that they showed in the game,
00:33:56the tactical understanding of when to go, when to sit was spot on
00:34:01and I don't think we could have played the game probably any better.
00:34:05When you look at the game on a whole, obviously we're coming up against one of the best sides in the world
00:34:10and they're going to have their chances, but so did we.
00:34:12It was a special moment for me, of course. Another club I played for. The moment was unreal, but at the end, of course, we were a little bit disappointed with conceding the last goal.
00:34:37Everyone came off the pitch heartbroken because we actually felt like we deserved to win the game and probably progress in the tie.
00:35:04So that shows you how far the team have come. And again, that should stand in good stead for next season as well.
00:35:11After the disappointment had disappeared, I think everyone felt pride that now Celtic were back in Europe competing, playing some great football and bringing credibility to a performance level at the very highest level in European football.
00:35:30I really enjoyed the new format. I think that I think everyone was going to be interested in how it did pan out.
00:35:37And of course, leading into the first game, we wanted to get off to a good start. We wanted to demonstrate our football and our intent in the competition.
00:35:45I think we've got a lot to be proud of. We started great and then obviously we had the result in Dortmund, which is one of those results that happen every now and then. It's a freak result.
00:35:55After the Dortmund game, we had also a little bit difficult time, but the way we responded and we just bounced back and showed what quality we have in the team.
00:36:07But what we then did was we regrouped and we didn't panic. We stayed calm. We stayed true to what we thought and how we believe that we can play in our strengths. And I think we had a really good campaign.
00:36:20So there was a feeling that after the Champions League end and that tie. Right, OK, we can take great confidence from this here. Now let's get back there next year and let's see if we can sustain that.
00:36:33Celtic are getting closer and closer to retaining their title and with plenty of room to spare.
00:36:43Oh, what a strike. It is Anna Engels and he rolls it down the middle into Yang. Big chance. Just on the field. It's Maida.
00:37:01And that's what happens next when this man is around. Slops cross. Yang's there again. He has been so productive of late.
00:37:16I just trying to do my best. I just want to be who helps our team. I really want to celebrate with our team and our fans.
00:37:31So pleased for him. He works so, so hard. Such a good guy. Whether he starts, whether he comes off the bench, he can make an impact.
00:37:45So to get his two goals, his third goal would have been a great goal, but it was disallowed. And then his pass, his pass for Dyson's goal was, you know, to see it and to execute it was so, so good.
00:37:56And his girlfriend's here at the moment. So that's making him really happy. And he's in a great mood for a little while now. And it coincides with his performance level and the goals he's scoring and creating.
00:38:09So, enough said. Whatever it takes. Absolutely.
00:38:14Ikema could be in here for Rangers. Hapsa Ikema!
00:38:20A remarkable twist in a remarkable title.
00:38:24The manager, quite rightly so, wasn't happy. And we weren't happy either. You never ever want to lose a game of football and especially when you're at this club and the expectation's so high.
00:38:37Well, St. Johnson looked for an early breakthrough. It's fizzed in! And Bolognes has scored this time!
00:38:46The St. Johnson game frustrated a bit more because of the start of the game. We could have got something from the game. It's just more the fact that there's not many opportunities in your career that you get the chance to win a league at home.
00:38:58Especially when we had all those fans there in Perth. It just wasn't a performance that we were looking for. And it wasn't what we were expecting. It definitely wasn't what he was expecting.
00:39:08So for him to, you know, really kind of have a go at us, have a dig. It was the right time. It was needed.
00:39:14Yeah, but everybody was really disappointed then because we could have won the league then at home. And we missed that chance to get the celebration with our fans.
00:39:22And for us that was, yeah, not really fun then because we really wanted it.
00:39:29So we missed that opportunity at West St. Johnson to bring that back to Celtic Park. And obviously that left me frustrated.
00:39:37But it also left me looking at the performance level to know that we can't accept that. It's not the standard of our performance.
00:39:44But I knew the guys understood that. We had a good week's training and then we went into the Camarnet game and it was one of our best performances of the season.
00:39:53They were shocked and startled by the bottom club St. Johnson last weekend. And that gave Brendan Rodgers plenty to ponder.
00:40:00He will be seeking a response, which this team is more than capable of.
00:40:05And it looks like Celtic are in the mood today.
00:40:15Engels through to Forrest. And a tap in for Dyson Minor.
00:40:21He's now scored on his last eight starts at Celtic Park. The first man to do that sits the one and only, Henrik Larsen.
00:40:34I really liked it, but to be honest, I wish I had this song out earlier than this. I'm grateful for our supporters.
00:40:52Two, two, three, one!
00:40:56Carter Vickers. He's going to take one on!
00:41:01Wow! Out of nothing, it's another stunning goal!
00:41:08Johnston and Forrest linking up brilliantly. It's wonderful football. It's Hattape!
00:41:14Well, this is a remarkable response to last week's shock-defeated Perth.
00:41:23Now, Ralston. Tony Ralston!
00:41:27No title party today, just a goals party. Celtic back being Celtic.
00:41:35So that today just sets the standard now for us for the remainder of the season.
00:41:40But it was a brilliant reaction with the players and a wonderful performance.
00:41:51Yeah, obviously we wanted to win the game.
00:41:53Whether we lose or win the game before, our mentality is to focus on the next game
00:41:57and try and perform and do well in the next one. And that's what we've done today.
00:42:00We now look to ourselves to get this done as quickly as possible. And I think when you arrive to the games and the days where you now have the opportunity to win the league, I think very, very difficult to turn that down.
00:42:19Again, make sure you compete first and foremost there. It's the most important thing, that. Come on. Everything else comes after that.
00:42:27Show the desire, show the personality out there how much we want this. Do it in style. Play as champions.
00:42:35That's why we'll be champions, eh? Because we always find the solution to the problem that's fair. Stay calm, trust each other. Trust yourself.
00:42:44Let's go.
00:42:47Okay, so the build up to this game. Okay, it's all about it being a little bit boring this league, lack of competition.
00:42:56But that's not our fault. That's not on us. We're 15 points clear, goal difference away ahead. Why? Because even it matters, we turn up.
00:43:07So today it matters. Today you become a champion. Okay? But you have to work like we've done the last couple of years.
00:43:18You do that, you'll walk back in here. We'll raise the flag for the club. We'll also raise the flag for all the hard work and all the great mentality we've shown all season.
00:43:27And you get yourself away and have a couple of great days. Okay? But make no mistakes, you go out there, you've got your work.
00:43:32Okay? Because they're fighting for European football. So we've got to show that we really want this today and go and deliver on the pitch. We do that, brilliant.
00:43:41Okay, good luck.
00:43:45Quick start, eh?
00:43:47The players had so much focus, so much excitement around the day. The players just fly out the traps because we're desperate to get it done.
00:43:55Celtic have got their goal, which could well get them going, going towards another title.
00:44:03There's a reason why they're in the top six. They weren't going to make it easy for us, but we weathered the storm at the beginning and then scored some really good goals.
00:44:10It's Nicolas Kuhn again. Celtic are having another party, another title winning party.
00:44:18After the 3-0, you knew it was almost over. I think the whole team kept going until the end.
00:44:27Celtic have had to wait for this day, but this is their day and it's been filled with goals galore.
00:44:35We went up with a real determination to get the victory and the performance. Once we then got the breakthrough, then we had total control of the game and were very, very good.
00:44:47It was an amazing feeling for me. It was my first one also to get a championship and it's a special feeling.
00:45:02Come on!
00:45:03It's a bit surreal if I'm honest. I don't know what to do with myself when I've been here before.
00:45:20Credits to hard work to get all the boys a full season and for me to come in and be a part of this is absolutely...
00:45:29I don't think I got this far in my dreams, to be honest, that I wouldn't have ever thought I would have been here.
00:45:332022 I was actually in that stand celebrating as well, so it's nice to kind of come full circle and be here.
00:45:39And it's nice to win it on this ex-rivals pitch, so it's nice.
00:45:41For us, whether you're celebrating at Tanerdice, you're celebrating at Celtic Park, the most important thing for our fans is that you're lifting up a title come trophy day at the end of the season and luckily we're doing that again.
00:45:51I'm doing that again.
00:46:21Liam, the whole bus is waiting for you to give us your reaction to winning the league title. How does it feel to be a champion again?
00:46:33I'm most delighted. I'm half caught and I'm...
00:46:37Half?
00:46:42Start again, start again, start again, start again.
00:46:46Ask a question again, ask again.
00:46:49It's always amazing to win one more title.
00:46:53We had a great season, a lot of hard work and we can celebrate.
00:46:58Two goals were shocking.
00:47:00Scrappy goals.
00:47:02I'll take it, you know.
00:47:04That's what you want to come here and do, score goals and win trophy, so it was a great day.
00:47:09So happy, so happy.
00:47:11I think this club lives from moments like this.
00:47:14And today was another happy day for all of the Celtic family and I think after a very long season everyone deserved it.
00:47:23The magnitude of the club, you know, how well it's supported, the followers that it's got, they travel up and down the country, European games.
00:47:29So it's as much for them as it is for us and it's always nice to be on the way back.
00:47:34Hopefully the stadium will have a few people there and we can celebrate together.
00:47:37A bit of a cappello singing going on up the back of the bus there.
00:47:40It's nice that, isn't it?
00:47:41I think the DJ just packed it in there so we'll get Ralston on the karaoke in a minute I think.
00:47:46Trust me, you're listening.
00:47:48Can you hear me up there?
00:47:50Are you taking earphones out yet?
00:47:52Cheers mate, you can hear me then.
00:47:54Congratulations lads.
00:47:55This is Yanyo Hesho Shester, please join in.
00:47:57Don't be there all.
00:48:00Let's go.
00:48:05Hey!
00:48:07Hey!
00:48:09Hey!
00:48:11Come on!
00:48:13Your lipstick stains.
00:48:16Oh look what love of my lipstick veins.
00:48:19I knew I wouldn't forget you.
00:48:24When it led to know my mind.
00:48:28Let's go!
00:48:41Going back to the stadium, seeing so many fans there celebrating with us is an amazing feeling.
00:48:48James, a living legend.
00:48:51138 years of Celtic history and no one has won more medals and more honours than you.
00:48:57It must be a very proud day for you and your family.
00:49:00Yeah, I think I'm always quite good with my emotions but I started like, I got a lump in my throat after the game today but you can't do it without the team and obviously the family and the staff and that as well so nah I'm buzzing.
00:49:12Give it up one more time for Celtic's most decorated player, James Forrest!
00:49:19Brendan, we spoke during the week about the winning culture.
00:49:22Some people on the outside might see that and take it for granted and think that because sometimes it looks easy that it must be easy.
00:49:29We're really in a golden generation of Celtic, you know, these players and what they're achieving year in, year out.
00:49:37Like you say, they make it look easy but if you could see them work every single day, you could see the staff, the hours that goes into preparing the team and then obviously then the guys have to deliver under huge pressure at a club of this size.
00:49:52And as I said, you should really cherish it as a Celtic supporter because I know we do and together we can still continue to win.
00:50:01Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, give it up for your Scottish Premiership champions.
00:50:05Once again, Brendan Rodgers, Callum McGregor, James Forrest, Isen Leira and the whole Celtic team!
00:50:12You're a bit overwhelmed also to be there and you're trying to sink in everything and trying to enjoy and I think we have still some games in the league that we can still enjoy.
00:50:28Come on, Scaldi, let's go. Tony, let's go. Come on, Jimmy, come on. Come on, boys, let's go. Show one with the champions, come on, let's go.
00:50:44So you have to manage the game, you have to manage the temperature in the game. We are the champions, eh?
00:50:49So you play like champions and that is everything, eh? Play with your brain. If you have to be narrow and go back, you can narrow up.
00:50:56Today is not a day to cheat on your position. You're part of the team. Get in, do the work.
00:51:02So do not come off the pitch thinking we could have done more, eh? So we give everything, we give everything. Guarantee you we get a positive result.
00:51:09When you go to the stadium, you feel that support, you feel the passion, you feel the energy and for sure it drives the players.
00:51:25They can never turn it off. They can never turn that passion off. You speak to people in the street on a daily basis.
00:51:31All they care about is the next game, in the next derby. It's just so intense.
00:51:35Dessa's barely in the game. Who's this going to break for? It's Adamida! And it's found a way through this time.
00:51:46But no, the flag is up for offside. Adamida has equalised for Celtic. A delayed celebration, but the champions have answered back.
00:52:05A very warm welcome to the annual Celtic Player of the Year Awards.
00:52:17He's only gone and done it again. It's three in a row tonight. Please welcome to the stage the Celtic Player of the Year, Dyson Maeda!
00:52:27All the hard work I did for the teams has been paid off, I feel. So, yeah, I'm really glad to be here.
00:52:29All the hard work I did for the teams has been paid off, I feel. So, yeah, I'm really glad to be here.
00:52:45to receive such awards.
00:52:47It is trophy day at Celtic Park. Sounds familiar? That's because it is familiar. It's the way of the world. The way of the Celtic world.
00:52:55So, we understand the game, eh? Now bring the better, the running, the energy. So why we're champions like Cass said?
00:52:57Because we work harder than everyone else, eh? That's the difference, eh?
00:52:59That's the difference, eh? Now bring the better, the running, the energy. So why we're champions like Cass said?
00:53:03Because we work harder than everyone else, eh? That's the difference. So make sure we bring it again.
00:53:13Celtic Park is in party mood, and if anyone wants to be able to be a better player, the running-
00:53:21So why we're champions like Cass said? Because we work harder than everyone else. That's the difference.
00:53:25So make sure we bring it again.
00:53:29Celtic Park is in party mood and if anyone can host a final-day party this
00:53:35place should be used to it by now and Iunger and it's found a way in a final
00:53:45day twist James Forrest is warming up as he searches for that goal there was
00:53:54probably 60 odd thousand people plus staff plus everyone in the stadium want
00:53:58him to score yet he wasn't he was doing his job for the team so much so that you
00:54:04know I played him on the right he was creating chances for everyone else
00:54:07it's wonderful again from James Forrest down the right hand side but I want to
00:54:13get him a goal I move him to the left so he can cut inside with his right foot and
00:54:16see if we can get some shots off and that didn't quite work he was doing better on
00:54:21the right so we moved him back to the right and then eventually the ball falls
00:54:24for one of a kind he brings so much to the team has been delivering it for 15
00:54:45years now and they have that longevity and show the quality show the mentality at
00:54:49this club for so long you must be a special player and James he is the
00:54:55qualities that he that he's showing on and off the pitch it's amazing to see and
00:54:59I'm trying to learn from him also
00:55:08the noise was incredible for a 1-1 draw it was a it was a wonderful end to to that
00:55:16trophy day that's congratulations you get one second half and obviously it was
00:55:21running the stars that one James is so what fantastic for you 16 years for an every
00:55:27season it's just unbelievable so but for everyone it's been a brilliant 38 games
00:55:32okay thoroughly deserved and like we show them we kept going we kept going kept
00:55:37fighting and now's the time to celebrate with your family and make sure you do
00:55:42because they have given you so much as well the support in there for you so go
00:55:48enjoy this now 30 deserve it and have a good evening
00:55:52I've been lucky enough to to be in teams that where people have been motivated
00:56:03enough to go on winning runs to win titles when you're playing for this
00:56:07football club you're winning trophies you do get that feeling like wow what we're
00:56:11doing here is actually you know really making making people's years winning
00:56:17titles regardless of where it is it's not easy it takes a lot of hard work and a
00:56:21lot of things have to go right
00:56:23and James you got the goal and what a goal it was can you sum up the emotions of
00:56:30not just those last minutes but of all these years playing for Celtic football club
00:56:35it's been unbelievable I think every moment that the fans give you and playing in
00:56:41front of the fans away from home at home every week is amazing and I'm just
00:56:46cherishing every every game I play until I finish
00:56:51Brendan I think the final words should go to you I think the question is simple
00:56:57how does it feel to be the manager of the most successful club in Scotland
00:57:05well this is what it feels like to be Celtic
00:57:10trophy day is Celtic day but it's just another day in paradise
00:57:19the pressure to win at this club is enormous and
00:57:35you just try and manage that you try and win the next one when the next one comes
00:57:38you try and win that before you know it you're up in those brackets of players that have been so so
00:57:44successful at this club and maybe when I'm finished then then I'll reflect a
00:57:48little bit more on on that we had some really good spells during the season and
00:57:53and we became really strong as a squad in in every kind of aspect it kind of
00:57:59started off in the Man City game from that moment I just felt really good and at the
00:58:04connection with the team and and everyone for me personally of course was
00:58:07was a really good season being able to just you know bring the trophy around to
00:58:12all of them and enjoy it those are always like the most special days and it
00:58:16reminds you how big this football club is and how important this football club is
00:58:21to the fans not just this season since I joined the club they supported us all the way everywhere
00:58:31with the passions and it's that's incredible without the fans cannot exist when I look back on
00:58:39it's it's interesting because the first year we finished the season on a high and we go into the
00:58:46summer in a great mood you could argue this season was a better season we've done a double but we
00:58:52progressed in Europe but because you lose the Scottish Cup final and and especially in the
00:58:56manner of the penalties then of course that can leave you with a with a feeling and not as good as
00:59:03the season before but again it shows you remarkably how well this club has done when we have had so many
00:59:09troubles that when you do miss out that you get that feeling of of loss but that's just the sheer
00:59:14standard of this club that we've set and now we've got to keep driving those standards uh through into
00:59:21next season which i'm already looking forward to
