West Indies skipper Shai Hope says the team's aim is to play an aggressive brand of cricket in the T20 format.

This follows their handsome win against hosts Ireland in the third and final T20, which saw the men in maroon clinching the rain-hit series 1-0.

Hope also wants the Windies to defend their home turf when Australia and Pakistan play T20 matches in the Caribbean in July and August.

Transcript
00:00The West Indies beat home team Ireland by 62 runs in the third T20 to clinch the series
00:051-0 after the first two games were rained out.
00:09Evan Lewis scored 91, while captain Shea Hope made 51 and Casey Carty got an unbeaten 49.
00:16According to the West Indies skipper, it was a much needed win after the men in Maroon
00:20were whitewashed 3-0 in England in both the whiteboard formats.
00:24It's very important, especially after the back of that English series that we had a
00:29couple of days ago.
00:30You know, they basically gave us a battering, so it's great to finish the UK toward our
00:34high.
00:35Wonderful display from the batterers today, especially Evan getting that good start and
00:39you know, once he gets flowing, he's a very destructive batter.
00:42So happy to see the guys, you know, raising their hands in the batting group and hopefully
00:45we can continue like that as a team.
00:47The West Indies scored 256 for 5 from their 20 overs before restricting their opponents
00:53to 194 for 7.
00:56The 31-year-old hopes that the West Indies can display that type of aggression moving
01:00forward.
01:01I believe that's the brand of cricket that we're trying to play.
01:04It's something that we always speak about, throwing that first punch, ensuring we put
01:08pressure on their bowlers, don't allow them to settle as much.
01:11It's something I felt as though we lacked a bit in the England series.
01:15But yeah, it's great to see the guys really finishing this one on a high, you know, we didn't
01:19get cricket in the first two 20-20 eyes.
01:21But just to finish the tour on a high, displaying the way we want to go about playing our cricket
01:25was a great thing to see.
01:26Having said that, Hope is concerned about the West Indies' bowling in the abridged version.
01:31It's something the Caribbean cricketers have to work on, with the next T20 series being
01:36a five-match contest against the visiting Australians in July.
01:40So we struggled to take wickets in the power play to put other teams under pressure.
01:45And that's something that we did today.
01:47Unfortunately, we had chances with the ball, but we didn't take them.
01:50Let's say we caught those two batters, Tector and the other opener, then things could have
01:56been a lot more different.
01:57We could have probably taken three, four in the power play.
02:00So again, things that we're trying to improve on as a team.
02:04We're getting there, but it's still a work in progress.
02:07After the Australia series, the Windies play Pakistan in three T20s in the Caribbean.
02:13And what does Hope want to achieve against the two sides?
02:17I want to see consistency.
02:19We need to defend home court.
02:22We've been very good at home the last couple of years, barring that last T20 series there
02:27against Bangladesh and St. Vincent.
02:29But we've got to continue playing the cricket that we want to play.
02:32Hope says the objective is to tick all the boxes leading up to next year's T20 World Cup in India
02:36and Sri Lanka.
02:38Vinod Nawani chiefs export.
02:40I'm not half a fan.
02:42Just too much.
02:43But that idea is to take a sample because it's just too much.
