A fifth person involved in the deadly crash on Saturday remains hospitalized fighting for their life.

Police Road Safety Officer, Brent Batson confirmed the situation on the Morning Edition.

00:00Four people, including a nine-year-old child, lost their lives in the tragic accident in Claxton Bay.
00:09While again urging motorists to observe road safety regulations, he notes another life is hanging in the balance.
00:18Unfortunately, I received news this morning that the fifth passenger in the Claxton Bay crash has now been put on life support.
00:27So we're really praying that that he pulls through.
00:29In the meantime, you know, we are trying to be, though, we have to learn from these things.
00:37Batson is suggesting that drivers take courses that can better equip them for unforeseen incidents while on the roadways.
00:45Drivers also need to step up to the plates and even educate themselves during a defensive driving course.
00:54And this is where driver rehab systems and all these things come into play.
