WI 'A' LOSE 1ST 50 OVER TO SA 'A'

It wasn't only the senior West Indies men and women that lost on Wednesday.   The West Indies 'A' were also beaten by South Africa 'A' by 42 runs last night in their opening 50-over match under lights in St. Lucia.   The South Africans were bowled out for 283 in the 47th over, with Jediah Blades taking three wickets.   In reply, the Windies 'A' were dismissed for 241 in the 45th over, with Kevlon Anderson scoring 45.

00:00West Indies A won the toss and put South Africa A into bat in the first day-night 50 overmatch at the Darren Samy Stadium.

00:07Jadaya Blades struck early for the men in Maroon.

00:11Then Rivaldo Moun Samy and Jordan Herman put on a partnership of 93 runs.

00:18Moun Samy made 49 and Herman 53.

00:25Sinitemba Kishile and Jason Smith also got half-centries for the visitors.

00:30Both batsmen were joint top scorers with 55 apiece.
