Man pleads not guilty to firearm chargers over death of 9yo boy

A man charged in connection with the fatal shooting accident of a 9-year-old boy near Goulburn in Southern NSW has faced court for the first time.

00:08Wendellamar, just outside of where I am here in Goulburn. Police allege it was a tragic accident.

00:15This morning, a 33-year-old man who is known to the boy fronted court for the first time.

00:21His lawyer indicated he would plead not guilty to two charges of allowing an unauthorised person

00:27possession of a firearm and not keeping a firearm safely. The court also heard police are still

00:32investigating and are considering the possibility of laying further charges. Prosecutors will need

00:38to return a brief of evidence by next month with the case to return to court in July. A teenager

00:44also charged over the incident will face a children's court on Friday.
