A 15-year-old boy has faced court in Sydney charged with the stabbing murder of a 17-year-old boy in the city's north-west. The court heard police will allege the boy admitted to the stabbing and that it was an unprovoked attack.

00:48Three people were seen running away, one reportedly wearing a school uniform, another a balaclava.
00:55Hours later, a 15 year old boy presented himself to a police station alongside a parent.
01:01After being questioned, he was charged with murder.
01:04I don't believe it was random. I believe there is potentially some connection.
01:08In a social media post, a person close to the 17 year old victim wrote,
01:13You make the little things fun and brought a smile to my face every single day without fail.
01:18You don't deserve this and you never did.
01:21Other friends told the ABC he was a goofy kid who loved soccer.
01:25The court heard police will allege the accused set upon the 17 year old in an unprovoked attack.
01:32The court was also told that when the 15 year old handed himself in, he allegedly told officers,
01:38I just stabbed another boy in a leg.
01:41Today he showed no emotion as his lawyer did not apply for his release on bail.
