Teen charged over accidental shooting of 9-year-old boy appears in court

A teenage boy charged over the accidental fatal shooting of a nine-year-old boy near Goulburn has appeared in a New South Wales children's court for the first time.

00:00The boy died last month at a rural property at Wendellamar, about half an hour from where

00:07I am here in Goulburn, after suffering serious neck injuries.

00:12At the time, police alleged it was a tragic accident.

00:16A day after his death, a 14-year-old boy was charged with possessing an unauthorised firearm,

00:22and today his lawyer entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf.

00:26She appeared in court via AVL, with the boy seated next to her, but he was silent during

00:31the proceedings.

00:32He'll remain on conditional bail with the matter to return to court next month.

00:37A 33-year-old man also charged over the same incident fronted court earlier this week, where

00:42he also pleaded not guilty to two offences.
