00:02We are here at Detroit City Distillery because they've got something really special on the way.

00:07You know, Punchki Day is right around the corner.

00:09It's just like a week away or something like that.

00:11And they are, you know, the only people who make Punchki-flavored vodka.

00:15So we came here today to do a tour because not only do they have their original,

00:19but they're coming out with a new flavor called Orange Cream.

00:21Orange Cream.

00:22Which is like right up my alley.

00:23This is the Orange Cream one that went into the Orange Cream.

00:27Raspberry Punchki as well, so.

00:28Oh, awesome.

00:30It's going to make a mess, isn't it?

00:31Yeah.

00:39It's good.

00:41How do you feel?

00:42No, it's really good.

00:43First Punchki?

00:46You know, we get that many boxes.

00:48Well, we get about four or five times as many boxes.

00:52We crush them up, throw them in the still.

00:53It's amazing.

00:55It's right in there.

00:56We let it soak for a day, and then we distill it off, and it picks up all the flavor.

01:00Mm-hmm.

01:01And, uh, that's what Punchki Vodka is.

01:04So how did you go from whiskey to Punchki-flavored vodka?

01:07How did that happen?

01:08Yes, so Punchki Vodka is the brainchild of this guy right here.

01:13He called me one time and said he had a weird experiment he wanted to do.

01:16He took a punch of raspberry Punchki from New Palace Bakery, threw them in the still with

01:21some Polish potato vodka.

01:23I was like, that sounds so weird.

01:25Yeah.

01:25You know, we tried it, and it weirdly tastes like pastry and raspberry, like a Punchki.

01:34Yeah.

01:35So he made 20 bottles for his family.

01:36The next year we made 100 bottles, 5,000, 10,000.

01:39Now we do about 20,000 bottles of Punchki.

01:43The head distillery, he has this great quote where he says it's all the flavor of Punchki

01:46with, like, none of the calories.

01:48So you get, like, you get the nose of the Punchki of the flavor, but you don't have to

01:52worry about 600 calories.

01:53You're releasing another one for orange, right?

01:56It's the orange cream Punchki, which New Palace makes, you know, more recently.

02:01They've been making that each year.

02:03Vago released Dreamin, which is their orange cream.

02:05Yeah.

02:05So we reached out to them, asked them to come to the Punchki Day party on the 10th in February.

02:10And they were like, yeah, well, we're going to send a bunch of products.

02:12So we figured, like, an orange cream vodka is going to go in that perfectly.

02:15And again, it kind of, like, lives up to the spirit of, like, a party in a bottle, which Punchki Day

02:19is compared to, like, you know, the more serious, like, whiskey brands and stuff.

02:23That we work on all year round.

02:25Well, and plus you get to utilize another Detroit company.
